Kate Langenburg/A&E Groove

Last Saturday night, I strolled on down to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg to see one of my favorite bluegrass jam bands play. Railroad Earth, of Stillwater, New Jersey, has been playing and perfecting their sound for years around the area, as well as across the country.

All the boys of Railroad Earth minus Mike Carbone. Photo by Kate Langenburg.

The band opened with a stellar, upbeat ”Drag Him Down” but then backed off the high uppity bass and focused on some slower songs, particularly “For Love.” I can appreciate the vibe they were trying to set, but it kind of ruined the mood a little. People were psyched up to see the show. RRE started with an upbeat song, then played slow songs for almost the entire rest of set one. It was definitely a tease. However, at the end of set one, the band went into a bumpin’ version of “Head” which always gets a crowd going. As Todd Schaeffers vocals screeched out, the audience sang back to him and threw up their hands each time he repeated the call. Thank the bluegrass gods for making them play this song. I think it was the highlight of the concert.

After intermission, they came back with more chill vibes. Not to say I was disappointed by this, but I was just ready to dance, that’s all. It’s kind of hard to dance to music without a strong, up beat. Here’s the complete set list:

Set 2: Where Songs Begin>Walk Beside Me>Luxury Liner>Jerusalem Ridge>RV>Warhead Boogie>New Jam (SHJ)>Moonshiner

Encore: Genesis>Bringin’ My Baby Back Home

The lights were awesome — Every time I go to the Sherman Theater, their light shows get more and more advanced. Different hues of reds, blues, and yellows washed over the audience as they bopped up and down to the music. At times, the lights seemed to take on a mind of their own, zipping back and forth from the stage to the audience.

The only other thing I will have to mention is something I usually have no complaints about at the Sherman: the sound. While most of the instruments sounded in tune and jacked up to the right volume, I felt that the bass was way too overblown. Walking up to the side of the stage, the speakers literally produced wind everytime the bass was plucked. The result was a muddled effect, of which I was unhappy with.

This was the second show in a row that Railroad Earth played at the Sherman Theater. They usually play two nights every year around Thanksgiving. Not that I didn’t like the show, but I think next time they should focus on their boppin’ bluegrass beats a little more. I will leave you with some good clips I got:

Seven Story Mountain (Intro)

Old Man and the Land

And if you’re feeling frisky, you can read about the time I interviewed Railroad Earth’s lead singer Todd Schaeffer. Click here.

Have you ever had those weeks where you just wanna get away? I’m sure you have.. well I’

Have you ever had those weeks where you just wanna get away? I’m sure you have.. well I’m in one right now. Most of the time we’re not able to get away because of our busy-boring lives that we don’t want to live out for the week to come.. well for me, I can get away, and I’m only at the beginning of my weeks journey.

I decided a week in Toronto should do the trick. You see, I have a big family, spread out across Canada (and one in Australia) that I am able to see when I please, so when I thought about the city, my sister came to mind. She is able to give me a key to her place where I can crash every night of the week while spending countless hours doing my own thing in the city.. I’m thinking lots of Starbucks!

So part one of my epic journey started last night when I arrived at a friends birthday party in Hamilton, Ontario. I had a good time meeting a ton of new people and when the night came I passed out on the couch at my sisters flat in the same city. I’m currently still here at her one bedroom apartment and later on we’re heading out to Coffee Culture to spend some time on our computers and have a little chat.

Once four-o-clock creeps around I’ll be jumping on the GO-Train to head out to Toronto where I’ll be exploring many exciting new things and where I can clear my head.

I’m pretty excited about this and I will try my best to keep you updated. It should work out pretty nice.
I’m sorry about no video blog today, I’ll try to record some in Toronto.

Love you guys,
Matt Dragos

Sexy Brazilian Mini-Skirt Wearing College Student Geisy Arruda Brazilian college girl,Geisy Arruda,

Sexy Brazilian Mini-Skirt Wearing College Student Geisy Arruda

Brazilian college girl,Geisy Arruda, expelled from school,… reinstated for wearing skimpy clothes to class, has become an international sensation in less than two months.

Who ever said …’’sex sells”…sure knew what he/she was talking about!!!

Geisy Arruda,20, after being harassed by fellow students , was expelled from Uniban, the private university where she is studying tourism, accused of wearing a dress that was too short and sporting a provocative attitude.

She had to be readmitted later .

The AP reports…”There are hundreds of girls wearing miniskirts on this campus every day, and nothing has ever happened,” Vice Dean Ellis Brown said at a news conference held earlier this month. “The size of the dress was never discussed — her behavior was.”

Arruda has vehemently denied acting provocatively, telling the private Agencia Estado news agency: “It’s a big lie that I raised the dress.”

In reversing the decision to expel Arruda, Brown said the school was opting for educational rather than disciplinary action.

Although Brazil is known for revealing clothing — especially in beach cities, where one popular style of bikini is so skimpy that it’s called “dental floss” — most college students dress more modestly on campus, commonly in jeans and T-shirts.

Brazilians will be seeing a whole lot more of Geisy Arruda as she is mulling over an offer from Playboy in Brazil, to pose nude on the cover of their magazine, and she has announced last Thursday that she will be participating in a sexy Samba group, performing in the Carnival this year in Rio De Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

“It will be a dream come true for me,” Arruda said just before giving a deposition to police who are investigating whether crimes were committed when a crowd of students harassed her on Oct. 22 at the University Bandeirante in Sao Bernardo do Campo, just outside Sao Paulo.

She will parade for the Leandro de Itaquera samba school in Sao Paulo and the Porto da Pedra school in Rio. The Rio and Sao Paulo parades are broadcast live in February throughout the nation of more than 190 million people.

“Sometimes, good things come from bad things,” she said.

Carnival features nearly nude dancers in elaborate feathered costumes, and Arruda said she plans to wear another short outfit when she parades atop a float in Rio.

“It will be very pretty,” she said. “I’m going to keep my style. It wouldn’t be me if I went out there with a long dress.”

Playboy Editor Edson Aran said that the young lady complies with the requisites to be front page of the magazine. “To have your photos in Playboy,” Aran explained, “a woman not only has to be beautiful but have notoriety, which is the case of Geisy.”

Geisy answered Playboy with this thought…”I don’t have anything against it, but I think I would not do a photo essay. This a matter of personal choice.”

She left clear, however, that she was not shutting down definitively the door on such a possibility.

There might be mitigating circumstances she admitted: “Since I’m unemployed this might help. If I really need it, I will not be a hypocrite and say no.

What Geisy is saying is that given the right circumstances,…money talks.

We will be on the lookout for more of Geisy, as she rides her wave of mini skirt titillation all the way to the bank, as she extends her 15 minutes…

It seems that for the horny, home for the holidays isn’t the best way to go about having extra

It seems that for the horny, home for the holidays isn’t the best way to go about having extra fun on your time off from work.

He and I went home to visit our parents for holidays, we’re from the same town but not where we live now so ALL of our parents are currently in one town to go and visit. We stayed most of the time with His parents, so that our pet cats had space to run around for three days (they like to travel with us). Anyways, we are of course eventually going to have time to ourselves, as we have space to ourselves with our own room there. It had moments like high school where we’d sneak around His parents to make out or fuck behind locked doors. The problem currently with this is that they changed which room is His room to stay in when we visit so the door doesn’t have a lock to it like His old room did, where the outside person was not going to get in unless the inside person let them.

It was morning and I was trying to get Him out from under the covers and into some pajama pants to wear to get breakfast in the dining room. He had some morning wood, as some would say, and He had me put Him in my mouth. I was figuring that He wanted head before going out to the other room, which I was going to do if He wanted, though it would leave an odd taste in my mouth most likely to mix with breakfast. But after sucking Him for a moment He had me come up and lay on top of Him. He slid off my pajama bottoms, now only wearing my sleep top. He inserted myself, but instead of working up and down with at first, He had us lie there together with Him inside of me, just being still. It was different, but apparently took to long because just after we slowly started to move up and down, quietly of course, His mother knocks on the door. I say “Hold on,” but she hears “Come in,” even though they don’t sound the same. Luckily I was wearing my sleep top still and we were under the covers because she went ahead and opened the door, of course halting all action at that moment. Disappointing and definitely a flash back to high school when you can’t get upset with them coming in because you really weren’t supposed to be doing something anyways, though now we are married and she really has no reason coming into the room either way. It hopefully just looked like I was lying on top of Him under the covers trying to wake Him up since from her view it looked like I was clothed still. The other way would have been more embarrassing. Of course we didn’t tell her when we came out for food.

The next day we were cursed again. His parents had to go out to buy a couple things and we stayed home to be lazy in getting dressed and having lunch before we went out to pay His grandmother a visit for the holidays. His parents typically take forever in shopping, no matter the list, so we thought we had more time than we did. We were in the office room and He indicates to His crotch. Apparently He wants head before we go out. Understandable. I get down and unzip His pants and pull out His cock. I start on working Him with my tongue and mouth but we don’t even get halfway through went they pull up and come up the steps. Luckily He saw their car drive down the driveway from the window so that He had time to reorganize Himself and I could be standing up at least when they walked in. I don’t know if they were being funny or wanted to be sure we were aware they were home so that they didn’t personally “disrupt” anything because upon their own entrance they ran the doorbell. His father said just to “present themselves” upon entering, but I don’t know. But either way, no action was fulfilled in the duration of our stay at His parents’ home. Luckily we had time to “play” before leaving our home the day we went down and again last night.

New Jersey Head Coach Lawrence Frank was fired today by the head office. After an 0-16 start, one game away from an NBA worst for starts in history. Assistant headcoach Tom Barisse would be coacing the team until further notice.
As said on NBA.com “Frank was in his sixth full season, the longest-tenured coach in the Eastern Conference and the winningest coach in the Nets’ NBA history. But none of those victories came this season, and the team dismissed him with a 225-241 record.

“I’m lucky I didn’t break my neck.”

Those were the words of Providence Bruins rookie forward Jeff LoVecchio, thinking back to a scary moment that could have ended his hockey career before it really even started. For that matter, it could have been much worse.

Any hockey player or fan remembers the story of Travis Roy, the 20-year-old Boston University Terrier who saw the beginning and end to not only his hockey career, but also his entire way of life on October 20, 1995. Roy, only 11 seconds into his first-ever shift for BU, slid head-first into the boards after University of North Dakota defenseman Mitch Vig avoided his check, cracking Roy’s fourth vertebra and leaving him a quadriplegic.

By comparison, LoVecchio was very fortunate. But that does not lessen the struggle he had lying ahead of him following a similar event one July afternoon in 2008.

After shining in 20 regular season and playoff games in his first pro experience with the P-Bruins late in the 2007-08 campaign, LoVecchio returned home to Chesterfield, Missouri to train for his first full season. The then 22-year-old had recently recovered from a broken wrist, an injury he sustained in Providence, and he was taking the ice for one of the first times since receiving a clean bill of health.

While practicing, LoVecchio was skating at full speed, hit a rut in the ice and went flying into the boards, where he struck his head and suffered a concussion. After signing a two-year free agent deal with the Boston Bruins just a few months prior, it appeared the rookie season LoVecchio had longed for may never take place.

“I never said it out-loud that I thought I’d never play again,” recalled LoVecchio. “But, in the back of my mind, it was always there.”

He had the support of family, friends, his girlfriend and the entire Bruins organization. Still, the uphill battle belonged to LoVecchio. Doctors told him that people come back from bad concussions all the time – the biggest unknown was how long the post-concussion syndrome would last.

“It was pretty frustrating,” LoVecchio said. “Right from the beginning, I couldn’t really go out, even to the grocery store or the mall, places where there was a lot of noise and your brain had to take in a lot of information. I couldn’t go because I would start to get dizzy and sick, and a little bit of a headache. I basically couldn’t leave the house.”

That lasted into January of the 2008-09 season, seven months after he sustained the concussion. The little LoVecchio did leave his apartment was to spend time in the locker room. He would get in a brief stretch, typically no longer than 10 minutes, watch practice from the stands, and then go home for the rest of the day.

“That was a pretty terrible way to live life,” said LoVecchio, “Especially for someone like me who likes to work out.”

After several frustrating months of sitting around and the incessant internal questions about how his life in hockey would progress, there was hope. In early February, with his teammates on the road, LoVecchio went to see the doctors at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The head concussion specialists gave him some medicine and, roughly three weeks later, LoVecchio felt symptom-free.

“Once I started to work out, it was a weight lifted off my shoulders,” remembered LoVecchio.

The workouts weren’t “normal” for someone with a reputation for being “over-the-top” when it comes to working out and good nutrition, according to most teammates. In fact, his short rides on a stationary bike in the team’s weight room would probably have been considered a light workout for most anyone, even a non-athlete. Regardless, the workouts represented something more, something bigger. His road back to the ice had begun.

In March, with the regular season winding down, he took the ice for the first time since the previous July.

“I will never forget the first day I got to skate,” glowed LoVecchio. “The team had an off-day and I got to come in (to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center) and skate by myself for 10 minutes. It was the best feeling ever, just being out there alone on the ice for the first time in eight or nine months. It was unbelievable to finally get going and feel like I was making progress.”

 • Hennessy’s time has come

 • AHL ON THE BEAT ARCHIVE

By the time Providence’s 2008-09 season ended with a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals in late May, LoVecchio had joined his teammates for two full practices. He never had the opportunity to dress for a game but, by the time the season’s final buzzer sounded, the year had become about much more than hockey.

“You hate to see someone get hurt,” said second-year P-Bruin Matt Marquardt. “Myself, I had some injuries last year, and seeing Jeff around the room with a smile on his face was a little bit of motivation. You realize how much you miss (playing) when you’re out for a period of time.”

“To have somebody miss a full calendar year, not being able to skate or train, was tough to see,” Marquardt continued. “Knowing that a guy had trouble getting out of bed or would get dizzy, that’s pretty scary stuff. But he had such a positive attitude that it really spoke volumes in the dressing room.”

“You see how much (LoVecchio) wanted to play last year,” teammate Mikko Lehtonen remembered. “It’s hard to come to the rink and feel that you don’t want to practice when you see that guy so willing to practice and do everything, but he just couldn’t do it.”

It was the fact that he couldn’t that could have ended his journey before it began. LoVecchio could have sat back and blended in. But, despite having only 20 pro games under his belt, LoVecchio learned early that leading by example stretched far beyond the ice.

“I tried to be in (the room) to talk to the guys a lot when they came off the ice from practice,” he said. “I just told guys to play their hearts out because you never know when it could end. I didn’t know if I was going to come back or what was going to happen (last year). So, just play every game like it’s your last.”

Providence coach Rob Murray was an assistant when LoVecchio first burst onto the scene in Rhode Island after three years of college hockey at Western Michigan University, where the young winger captained the Broncos as a junior. LoVecchio joined the P-Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement on March 14, 2008. The next night he made his professional debut against the San Antonio Rampage and, by the end, he had registered a goal, an assist and was named the game’s top star. A few days later, LoVecchio inked his entry-level contract with Boston. When the season ended, he had totaled three goals and six points to start a career that took more than a year to resume.

“I was very disappointed that Jeff missed last season because, knowing him from the prior year, I was excited to see him come in for a full season,” said Murray on the eve of the 2009-10 campaign. “As well as we did last year, I think that he would have been a main part of our team, but I’m thrilled for Jeff that he was able to get healthy. (To go through what he went through) last season and for him to have kept himself in physical shape with that hanging over his head was a real testament to him. He made sure that when he was ready to start training again that he had put himself in the best position in order to get back quicker.”

LoVecchio went on to have a successful development camp in July of 2009, turned heads at the team’s rookie tournament in Kitchener, Ontario, and impressed Bruins upper management with his strength, skating and overall conditioning during the big club’s training camp. But he still had yet to appear in a game that counted since May 9, 2008. Seventeen months later and poised for his return prior to Providence’s season-opening match-up with Springfield on October 4, 2009, LoVecchio acknowledged some minor nerves and substantial excitement while reflecting back upon where he had come from.

“(Last year) was the hardest year of my life. I don’t wish that type of injury upon anyone. Now, at 24, I’m probably the oldest rookie in the league but I prepare mentally as hard as anybody and I’m just going to work as hard as I can to not play like a rookie.”

Many around the locker room who were in Rhode Island last season speak of LoVecchio as a leader, the ideal role model for players young and old. For that leadership and dedication, the kind that may very well result in a Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award at season’s end, Murray started the season with an assistant captain’s “A” on LoVecchio’s home jersey. Rookie or not, he had earned it, and he earned what came next.

Just 16:25 into his first game in nearly a year and a half, in front of more than 8,800 fans, LoVecchio rebounded an Adam McQuaid shot passed Falcons goalie Devan Dubnyk for a goal that resulted in a thunderous on-ice celebration. He later added a third period goal to cap a 6-2 opening night win at The Dunk on the way to being named the first star of the game.

“I told some of the guys if I scored ever this year I was probably going to go nuts because I’d be so happy, and it happened in the first period of the first game,” LoVecchio said after the contest. “It was just a huge weight off my back and it was exciting to get my name on the stat sheet. Right when I came back to the bench, all the boys were coming up and saying ‘congrats’ and ‘good work.’ Coach Murray came up right away and said, ‘Congratulations, you deserved it.’”

“You know,” he continued, “It was an indescribable feeling sitting on the bench after, just thinking about where I was last year and even six months ago, not knowing still if I would be able to play hockey again. It was really nice to get it in and I definitely celebrated pretty hard there.”

No matter what the result on the ice for the Providence Bruins during the 2009-10 campaign, the season is already a success for forward Jeff LoVecchio. He leads the P-Bruins with eight goals to go along with five assists, and currently ranks among the AHL’s top rookie scorers. But, more importantly, LoVecchio is healthy and he hasn’t missed a game. .

Age: 27

Hair: Blonde

Height: 5′5

Method: Serendipity

Advancement: Nada

I really hate the universe sometimes, I’ve had some potentially awesome things go down this week and then it tossed me another awesome curve ball…I’m waiting for about seven other shoes to drop. I almost don’t want to write about this, because I don’t even believe this kind of crap actually happens.

When I go home to suburbia, I usually hit the same places. I go to the diner by house for bagels, the coffee joint for mid-day coffee, the Irish Pub for drinks with my high school friends. I’ve done this more times than I care to admit. I don’t even think about it, I just do it every single time automatically. It’s nice to immerse yourself in creature comforts you don’t normally get. And of all the diners in all the towns in all the world, she had to step into mine.

I didn’t even know who it was. I’ve built this girl up in my mind so much, and it’d been so long since I’d actually seen her that I had no clue who she was. She is actually the one who approached me. She asked if she knew me from somewhere. It only took about fifteen bad guesses until she asked if I ever went to a certain hospital. I was like yeah…wait, are you the one that gave me a sonogram.

The story behind this was I had a liver problem (go figure) a few years and had to essentially get sonograms regularly to check my shit out. Basically to sum it up, we had a nice little rapport going but back in those days I lacked any sort of guts. There was a lot of BS reasons I tell myself to feel better about it, but it essentially boils down to the guts-ectomy.

So we talked a little, and I’m pretty sure my awkwardness over having bumped into her came off as disinterest. I was honestly just shocked. So were talking and she’s telling me how her grandmother lives a few blocks away and how she’s just stopping in for some donuts, and she had to get going. I just smiled, “Oh, Okay. Have a nice day”

I didn’t get her number for entirely different reasons this time. I really don’t want to date anybody right now. I don’t really wanna have the cutesy meetings, the neurosis, the hurt, the long night phone calls. I don’t want any of it right now. I’m far too mixed up and far too bizarrely committed to this. She just might be my savior, but if it’s meant to happen…I don’t think now is the time.

BDSM and Bipolar for me is a wonderful combination!

While they might not be a great combination for my submissive, it works for me. LOL. I love the feel of release as I inflict pain on my submissive. The weight of the world leaving my mind for that short time as I force the submissive to do things they normally would not do in their true mindset.

Maybe it’s time to find that submissive again. After all it has been a few years since I have had one that wasn’t online. LOL

I’ve come to the realization that my Dominant side is a hiding technique. A way for me to inflict on another the pain I am feeling inside my head and heart. Thats where the Bipolar plays in. Because I am just that confused, I feel I need to give someone else the pain I’m feeling but in a different way. They get the pain through whippings, floggings, humiliation, CBT, and Mind Control (as well as many other ways), I have the pain in my head.

Hum: New thought! Maybe it’s not my Bipolar that instigates this, but my Borderline Personality Disorder since it supposedly is what triggers my emotions where relationships are concerned.

For me, BDSM is not about SEX as it is for most. I don’t personally use it as a sexual release. But here is the clincher; I’m submissive to my partner.

For me being submissive means going into another world, a world where someone else takes over and dominates my existence. So what is my true calling then? That of a Dominant or that of a submissive? I hate the term “switch” as I don’t feel that is me at all. Your either Dominant or submissive, there really is no in between.

I’m confused! LOL
