I’d like to start by saying I love summer! Well, it’s only spring now, but its the same principle. The unparalleled heat that can only be truly appreciated at the beach, not stuck in an office all day long. So it was only about 33 degrees maximum, but coming out of a cold winter and a really mild previous summer, 33 degrees is rather warm!

<Insert Tuesday Beachin’>

Also note, part time work. It is the greatest thing to me since sliced bread. The freedom to do what you want when others are unavailable. To do things you wouldn’t normally do, because many things are cheaper, quieter, less crowded, more enjoyable, less stressful during the week. Way, more, fun!

As I said before 33 degrees is nothing to a sweltering, 40 degree Summer heat blaze Australia can dish out, but 33 degrees makes for an awesome beach day. Fish and Chips by the Ocean, swimming, sun-bathing, ice-cream and a good old-fashioned cruise with great company. So every now and then, take the day off Work. A Tuesday, or a Wednesday, and spend the whole day at home watching your favourite TV series, play some squash, hit the beach, catch up with friends, grab a coffee, check out the local shops, enjoy your days off!

So here we are, as I cruise to the beach in me old HQ, windows down, music blaring, sweaty backs (thanks to vinyl seats & lack of air-con), with some great company, loving every minute. And I think to myself, “Man I love mid-week beachin’!”

This year, I find that I am especially thankful for warmth. We needed to replace our furnace last we

This year, I find that I am especially thankful for warmth.

We needed to replace our furnace last week, and were without heat in our home (aside from some space heaters) for three nights. Temperatures around here that week were below freezing (around the mid twenties Fahrenheit). It was an uncomfortable few days.

My personal thermostat is generally about 10 degrees cooler than that of most people; I’ve always liked it cold. Still, I have little children and a wife who likes it warm, and I couldn’t help but feel incompetent for not taking care of them better.

So now we have a new, much more efficient furnace. Nobody got sick because of the time in the cold, but it could have been a lot worse.

I’m thankful for the pair of guys who put the new furnace in. It might have been easy to look down on them as they did their “grunt” work, but they were professional, competent and performed a service I couldn’t have done. To be honest, they probably have far better reason to look down on me for sitting at a desk all day, making a game.

I’m thankful none of us got sick.

I’m thankful for a kind wife who didn’t yell at me, even though I felt I deserved it.

I’m thankful that I have a job that allows me to have the money to pay for the new furnace. We’re not top wage earners, but we have enough for our needs, and we live within our means. I’m thankful that is possible, and that my family has a history of financial prudence.

…

As always, I also have tangential thoughts.

One, it’s always nice to be thanked. There’s a rush of satisfaction and warmth that comes with genuine thanks, and it can warm the soul like few other things can. There is also the personal peace that comes with living a life worthy of being thanked. There’s also a special kind of warmth that comes from doing things worth being thanked for, but doing them anonymously.

Two, I remember a moment of contrast that reminds me of those cold nights.

I was a missionary for the LDS church in Alabama for two years. (My little brother is going to the same mission here in a couple of weeks, curiously enough.) I spent a few months in the bowels of Birmingham. A couple of white guys in the inner city of a Deep Southern town just didn’t fit in. There were genuinely scary moments, and some genuinely threatening people. (Of course, some saw us as a threat as well, albeit in a slightly different light.)

I was young, preoccupied, and somewhat scared the day that we walked past a fellow sleeping in a doorwell. He looked rather disheveled, and probably asleep. It wasn’t cold at that time of the year, but when you’re sleeping on cement in the shadow, with only a single blanket, you’re not going to be comfortable. His skin happened to be darker than mine, his appearance far less presentable.

And I was afraid of him.

I don’t know his story, and I may never know. We walked on by, and didn’t bother him. We didn’t speak of it, so I can’t speak for my companion, but there were warring factions in my mind and heart. My mission was to uplift and serve. I wanted to help the fellow in whatever way I could.

But I was afraid.

Perhaps he was a drunk, sleeping off a binge. Maybe he would wake up blindly swinging. And what would he think of a couple of white boys in Sunday attire, rousing him from his nap? We had more than our share of racial tensions to deal with when people saw us coming from a distance. Up close and personal might be even more dangerous. As missionaries, we also had our share of religious bigotry to deal with, and layered on top of racial and sociopolitical tensions, we could be in some very tight situations. A guy sleeping in a doorway just presented a lot of unknowns.

I wanted to help, but I was afraid.

I didn’t remember Paul:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7)

I didn’t remember the lessons of the Good Samaritan.

I was just afraid. And now, over a dozen years later… I am cold.

It is a terrible, bitter cold, when one is left to wonder “am I that Levite?” or “why didn’t I help?” As I’ve noted elsewhere, charity to me is a way of life, a set of actions guided by a pure love of your fellow beings. As one man put it:

Charity is the pure love of Christ

It’s not a check to an Organization, or a handful of coins in the Salvation Army bucket on your way out the door with a hundred dollars’ worth of food. It’s not something done for attention, tax breaks, or donor perks. It’s simply something you do because it’s the right thing to do, it’s very personal, and it’s more about the giving than the receiving, even receiving thanks. It’s about doing the right thing, no matter what.

So yes, I am grateful for a lot of things. I’ve tried to live a life where other people can be grateful for my existence. I don’t always get it right, and I’m thankful for those who forgive me when I mess up.

You have to move on in life and not get stuck in past mistakes… but you have to learn from them, too. So what would I do today in the same position?

What would you do?

Hopefully, something worth being thanked for, even if nobody ever actually thanks you. Something to bring some warmth to someone else.

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all.

I recently spent an afternoon at Science World in Vancouver, escaping a cold rainy day. In one corn

I recently spent an afternoon at Science World in Vancouver, escaping a cold rainy day. In one corner was a display on how global warming works. I thought it was worth repeating here, paraphrased and expanded upon. The explanation went something like this:

Carbon dioxide (Co2) is what is put into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned. Humans , mostly in Europe and North America, have been burning more and more fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and oil are the 3 major culprits) at an increasing rate since the Industrial Revolution started several hundred years ago. At the same time we have been cutting down more and more trees. Trees clean the air by taking in carbon dioxide and putting out oxygen. Carbon dioxide molecules in the atmosphere trap heat. Therefore:

More Carbon Dioxide + Less Trees to Absorb Carbon Dioxide =

More Carbon Dioxide than ever before in the atmosphere, trapping heat in a way the planet has never experienced before

Now I am not a scientist, and admittedly there are disagreements even among scientists about the rate of heat trapping and its effects on the global climate. There are also other gases such as methane and nitrous oxide that are also affecting our environment. But this was such a straightforward explanation, one that a child could easily understand.

Maybe Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Environment Minister Jim Prentice need to spend an afternoon at Science World.

It’s time to confess.

In spite of all my journal entries that wax lyrical about the comforting sound of rain on the skylight while I’m safe and dry and drinking my morning coffee…in spite of my walking every morning - even though I am soaked and sodden by the end - all the while maintaining that I feel great from all the moisture…in spite of my gung-ho-suck-em-up- protestations of this is what it’s like to live in a rainforest and so why should I be surprised? Even though it does feel like someone was being a tad mean-spirited to call this endless monsoon area by the rather over-optimistic name of the Sunshine Coast.

In spite of, and because of, all that…I am thinking about the desert and places with palm trees. I’m thinking about heat and blue skies and warmth in my bones and flip-flops. Summer is feeling like a dim and distant dream and is already a very long time ago.

The good news-ish. I’m off to St. Lucia, though it sounds rather hellish, even though it’s also really good. Apparently I’ll be flying or in an airport for most of my adult life, just so I can twirl through St. Lucia for three days and then repeat the performance on the way home.

This could be considered crazy behaviour. Or it could be what travel writers will do in order to experience somewhere new.

And let’s not forget. It’s still raining. And dark. It’s damned dark every day at a ridiculous time. Did I mention the rain?

One of the most common misconceptions when dealing with pain, is at figuring out when to use heat ve

One of the most common misconceptions when dealing with pain, is at figuring out when to use heat verses ice. Many patients come into the office with a new, very acute pain tell me that they are using heat. PLEASE DON”T!!! For a new pain or a re-exacerbation (re-injury) of an old pain, ALWAYS USE ICE!

The Mechanism: Their is an easy explanation for when to use ice and when to use heat. The reason is simple science. It how ice and heat affect the body differently affect the human body. Heat increased blood flow, therefore, increasing the inflammatory response at the location where the heat was applied. If you are already inflammed (due to an acute injury), you will only increase pain, swelling, and stiffness to the area if you apply heat.

Ice, on the other hand, temporarily decreases blood flow. Decreased blood flow = Decrease Inflammation = Decreased pressure on pain receptors (nociceptors) = Decreased Pain. Therefore using ice on an acute injury will reduce pain and inflammation.

Dr. Misty Funk’s Advice: For the first 3-5 days after a new injury or re-injury of a chronic pain, use ice for 15-20 minutes several times a day to reduce the inflammatory response and pain. After 3-5 days, start experimenting with heat. If you feel the area is more swollen or more painful after the heat, then continue to use ice for another day or two. Heat is best used on chronic pain or chronic muscle soreness.

Simply put, always think ICE for acute pain and HEAT for chronic pain or muscle soreness/tension (pain or tension that is always there).

Here are some of my tips for staying warm at the yard!

Wear Ski Pants instead of waterproofs/over trousers – for the last couple of years I’ve been using ski pants (or salapettes) instead of a thin and not very warm pair of waterproofs or expensive riding over trousers. I never really liked full chaps because they still let your bum get wet! Yesterday I went into TK Maxx (Halifax store) and treated myself to two new pairs of Ski Pants – £30 each. Both waterproof, both snuggly warm, and then I wore one pair to the yard with only my knick nacks underneath – toasty! Make sure you buy waterproof ones and check that there are no zips on the inside of the legs. I’ve never needed half chaps underneath to avoid rubbing, and when it gets really cold you can layer up underneath too. Great for all things horsey, just don’t get white!

Get a Choob – again in TK Maxx (deadly place) I found this thing called a Choob. You can wear it on your head or around your neck. Much safer than a scarf because there are no flappy ends to get caught, and less bulky but still warm. Of course, I bought a hi viz one, but I’m sure it comes in other colours. You can also get similar things in fleece but these tend to be a bit bulkier.

Cover your ears – Ok. Big woolly hats are not the worlds sexiest items of clothing. But they do have their benefits. People lose a lot of their body heat through the head, so it’s important to keep this part of your body warm. Making sure your ears are covered too makes a big difference to how warm you feel.

Invest in a good jacket – I confess to using ski wear here too on occaision; I hated skiing, so the jacket needs to get used somewhere! TK Maxx will probably do well out of this, but they have a great range of ski jackets too. I also have a fantastic riding jacket – it’s a Shires Calgary, in hi viz of course. I love it, and it quickly became one of my Must-Haves last year. It’s seriously warm without being overly bulky, and there is a good mix of reflective and fluorescent material which means I don’t need to put a tabard on over the top. When buying a jacket, make sure you check that it is WATERPROOF, rather than water resistant. Also make sure it gives you enough room to move; I find that I don’t need the vents in the back of my jacket, but I do need the room across my shoulders. It’s worth ensuring that the sleeves will overlap your gloves, and that you can fit several layers on underneath.

Layer up – lots of thin layers are better than one thick layer, because they trap more air which means greater insulation. Look in the supermarkets for cheap long sleeved tops and thin fleeces. It’s also great to be able to whip (no pun intended!) a layer off if you find yourself getting too warm. Body warmers/gilets can be great here too. You can use tights instead of thermals, but remember that thermals are designed for the job.

Gloves - Again, thin layers can be better than thick. My all time favourite gloves are the Roeckl Chester gloves, and I have the lined winter ones too. Generally they do just fine – but they aren’t waterproof and if it’s really cold, I’m better off putting my hands in my pockets! [I don't recommend that on a skittish horse] I have a pair of SealSkinz, which I love too. They’re quite bulky (and for a cheaper alternative look to ski gloves) but great for yard work and I can ride in them easily. You may find it beneficial to get a thinner pair of reins for winter riding so you don’t end up with too much bulk in your hands. Test the grip on any pair of gloves you think about buying – you don’t want to find that you have no grip on the reins!

Hand Warmers – worth having a pair of these in your coat pocket. I believe Tesco sell them now, but most saddleries do too. You’re probably looking at about £5 for a pair, but they are multi-use and instant heat. Bliss.

Get a kettle – this might sound silly, and obvious, but keep a kettle on the yard, with tea/coffee/squash/hot chocolate as appropriate. Not only will it allow you to warm yourself from the inside out, but you can hold the mug and warm your hands too. If you don’t have a power supply – a flask will stand you in good stead so invest in a decent one.

Socksies – Similar to wearing lots of thin layers, a couple of pairs of thin socks (and room in your boots!) is better than thick socks and your feet feeling a bit squashed. I like to wear some thin Tesco-special cotton socks, and a pair of ski tubes/long riding socks over the top.

Emergency kit! - Being cold, wet, hungry and probably needing to pee as a result, is thoroughly miserable. I like to keep a full change of clothes and footwear in the car along with a towel just incase I do get drenched. A torch (thus reducing the likelihood of going bum over bust into the mud) and some spare gloves and a hat never go amiss either. Possibly the most important thing in my kit – a bar of chocolate. Yummy.

Sometimes, when you don’t have a life the envy of millions, or the skill at masquerading the mundane

Sometimes, when you don’t have a life the envy of millions, or the skill at masquerading the mundane as miraculous, there is not much to say.

I am not currently travelling the globe posting jaw dropping pictures of Amsterdam at night or of the croc I wrestled to death in Africa, or talking about the amazing sex life I have with lovers from the capital city of every god damn country in the globe…or whatever the fuck it is that all these genius’ on other blogs are out there writing about.

And given that I don’t have the same gift as some for concocting posts out of every day scenarios, like driving to the shops, and making it funny, then there really is very little chance of turning a week of diarrhoea and then a weekend of 40 degree heat into anything all that entertaining.

It was so fucking hot here yesterday that we spent the entire day indoors. I could give a detailed account of that because I know exactly what every wall looks like, every nook, every cranny, every speck of dust sand dirt that can be seen from laying flat on the floor in a desperate bid to cool down while your one year old son climbs dangerously up the side of the bookshelf but you are too ass buggered by the sinfully hot heat to even tell him to get down, instead saying, “wow, good climbing mate, see if you can get to the top” because you are so mind numbingly bored and tired and hot that you can’t even think of any fruitless child friendly banter anymore.

But I figured that would just reveal how my life pales in comparison to the exotic and erotic genius of the blogging world and that would be a pain too brutal for me to bear, so in a futile attempt to avoid the catastrophe of being ordinary I thought I would list all the places I have ever been really, really fucking hot:

1. Kibbutz Afikim, Isreal. Because I am really interesting like that, I go live on kibbutz in the middle of Israel when I am 19yrs old then I come home and write Sociology papers citing them as interesting case studies of failed experiments in socialism. This earns me a pithy little fucking Pass mark, perhaps because I fail to comment on the whole ‘religious’ aspect of the community (religious? Israel?…c’mon…) given I was so obsessed with radical politics and hippy communes at the time…

But anyway, point is – hottest fucking place on earth. It would be, like, 40 degrees all day long, and then drop to a cool 38 degrees at night. Being pesky little Western volunteers we were given little relief from the heat, expected to rise from our fan forced oven sleeping quarters at 6am and work till 5pm – you don’t get something for nothing in those parts, and by something I mean a small bit of foam to sleep on and a oil drenched salad leaf to munch on – without working your ass off for it first.

But lucky for me I was there because of my Israeli boyfriend, so on those hots nights I would sneak out of the servants, I mean volunteer, quarters, and go sleep in his nice cool apartment (yes, he had his own apartment. On a kibbutz. Like I said, failed experiment in communal living).

There was a 50 metre swimming pool on this particular kibbutz and one afternoon after working in the banana fields all day we all rushed down the pool, not even stopping at the edge to peel our clothes off before plonking straight in, only to find that the water was warm! Warm water. In a 50 metre pool. That’s how fucking hot it gets in those desert countries. Here we were, dripping in sweat, seeking some sweet, fresh relief from the prickling hot humidity that was strangling our throats, only to find that the water was fucking warm. Suffice to say, there were no Israelis down at the pool that day.

2. Pula, Croatia. Living out the back of an artist’s co-op on the fabulous Adriatic Croatian coast. Because I’m cool like that. You know, interesting, glamorous. The life of a well heeled traveller and all that. (Look, it hasn’t all been a suburban nightmare. I mean, it may have started off that way, and I may be back in one now, but I’ll have you know, through some ostentatious and conspicuous flaunting of it, that I have been to some very, very cool, I mean hot, places).

And the coast of Croatia was certainly one of them.

It was so hot we wouldn’t leave the house to go for a swim until 9pm at night. We would have melted into the sidewalk if we had of tried to walk to the beach any earlier. so hot that we would wake up, have a shot of grappa in our coffee, get stoned and then sit around in our underpants all day – did I say glamorous? Well, I meant something else.

And while it might sound like the life of a junkie, really it wasn’t, we only lived like sloths in that week long fucking heat wave that had people dying, literally dying, in some parts of the country.

And as for drinking alcohol first thing in the morning, well the bloody Croats do that shit all the time. All day long in fact, sneaky, sneaky little shots of grappa –one for good health, one to keep a cold away, one for the sore tooth, one for lunch time, one for the old mate Miho that died in the war – there’s always a reason for grappa and its never frowned upon, the stuff is seen as the all purpose magic elixir of life.

3. Cessnock, NSW. See its not all glamour. Sometimes your roots pull down hard. This is where I spent Christmas of 2002 at my Bro’s place.

Cessnock is basically considered the redneck wonderland of the Hunter Valley region. But to be fair to my Bro, who is not a redneck, we were out on his little subdivided property block and so technically out of bounds of the ‘racist’ dragnet that cloaked the town centre.

But this little block in the country had not a tree in sight and the heat that day was off the scale. We had both sides of the family present at this little Christmas shindig, so things were already awkward and uncomfortable enough without having to scurry and scramble amongst ourselves for any speck of shade we could find. Man, we would have beat the dogs out of their kennels if we could have fit in them ourselves.

Instead most of us settled for pulling our plastic chairs into the shade cast from the wall of the house. Come midday things got pretty grim, and with the sun directly above us, and our chairs pressed flush against the wall, we were forced to take shelter in the measly few inches of shadow that fell.

There was only tank water on the property, and my parents had already drilled us, with depression era mentality, that it. must. not. be. wasted. So water fights were out too, not that anyone had the energy. In the end I had to lay down on the tiles of the bathroom floor with a wet cloth on my face. I couldn’t even drink beer. No beer! At a dysfunctional Australian family gathering! That’s how hot it was.

Ok, so it’s a short list. I guess I haven’t been that hot in that many places others than the vast, expansive, flat, flat plains of Sydney’s western suburbs. Where childhood days were spent in that dry, crackling, cook an egg on the radiator of a car kind of heat. Heat that could curl the corner of a sheet of metal. Heat that had hot air breath that would blow brittle leaves over cracked dirt and dust.

And that deserted kind of feeling, with not a soul in sight save for a dog under an awning, and no sign of life save for the slow drip, drip, drip of water from the air conditioner that has been jammed into the window fixture falling onto the concrete below.

And while there’s no doubting that place was hot, it just wasn’t that exciting, well, not exciting enough for an erotic, exotic, genius blog anyway…

What they say…This is for hair that is frequently exposed to heat styling damage. The lightweight heat activated mist defends the internal structure of your hair from drying and damaging effects caused by blow dryers, curling irons and hair straighteners, leaving hair feeling conditioned, soft & shiny.

I found this to be great. After i use it, my hair is soft and not sticky like i’ve found with other products. My hair seems to stay straight longer too which is fab because i have naturally wavy hair, and it smells gorgeous! The only thing is that it’s only 150ml which for me is ok because i don’t straighten it every day, but for someone who does, it wouldnt last them as long as bigger bottles, but for £2.99 it’s a bargain anyway.

i first met this fine young man in 1997 at the bmg offices with rainbow if memory serves me correctly.

he couldn’t have been a day over 15 at the time and to see that earnest youngin turn into the well rounded dude and peer he now is puts a smile on my face.

i don’t have many close friends, and definitely not many “new” ones. It takes a special person to last 10 years in my life and in all honesty, i am just getting to really know kaelah since moving back to toronto in 2006.

congrats on making it to this first milestone, homie. i hope your 25th year is amazing and brings you perspective, growth and promise!

Mya finished this season of ”Dancing With The Stars” on top of leader board by scoring the most points from the judges for her final 3 dances performed for the championship round.

Mya, 800-VOTE4-11, 800-86834-11, and text 3411, finished tonight’s finale with a score of 27 out of 30, placing her two points ahead of Donny Osmond, and 11 points ahead of Kelly Osbourne, making her clearly the judges favorite for the evening.

Mya and her professional dance partner Dmitry Chaplin performed at a very high level this evening, as they have done throughout the competition. The only slight mistake that they made was in choosing a final freestyle dance from the Broadway play ”Hairspray” that apparently was a popular number for those who have seen the stage play.

I never saw that play, but I did see both versions of the movie, and their performance looked very good to me, and I was fully entertained. Apparently, the judges based their scores off of the Tony award-winning dancing that was in the Broadway play, as performed by the professional Broadway dancers.

I think that is a bit odd, to judge her performance against Broadway dancers, and not the rest of the competitors.I know she is good and all, but it looked to me like she was competing against Donny and Kelly, so that assessment was way off base, but…that is just me.

I think they were expecting something different, and forgot to judge the performance in front of them, and that is the problem with consistently being on top….people want to see you fall.

I admire Kelly and Donny, and wish them well, but it was irritating to hear Kelly complain and whine about Mya being a professional dancer, because if she was honest, she has an unfair advantage over Mya, which is that she comes with all of Ozzy Osbourne’s legion of fans, let alone her own from the ”Osbournes” MTV reality series, that was at one time the highest rated program on the cable network.

That all makes a difference because at this point in the season, it is not about dancing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, but it all comes down to a popularity contest, and Ozzy has all the popularity in the entertainment business, and Kelly rides on his coat tails.

Donny Osmond has almost 5 decades of loyal fans that far out distances the small number of R and B fans that remain loyal to Mya, because in the R and B game, the fans like to tear down the singers once the hits stop coming, and loyalty is almost nonexistence.

The freestyle dance was as awesome as the rest of her performances, and do not let any negative spin on it fool you. If it comes down to dancing skill, then Mya would win hands down,….If it only was about dancing, but it is not.

It is a popularity contest, and the popularity is not based on the dancing performances on the show.

If it is all about dancing, then vote for team Mya and Dmitry, it is what would be fair.

The deal is this,Mya, as all the performers, are not trained ballroom dancers, so she is on the same level as Tom Delay in that area, and the whining by Kelly Osbourne is unfair, fake, and borders on lying. She was obviously trying to garner some sentimental votes from her dads fans, and at the same time, slamming Mya.

In doing this injustice to Mya, Kelly reminded me of her mother Sharon Osbourne’s tacky slamming of singer Susan Boyle’s looks, when she stated that …”Susan Boyle is a lovely lady who had been hit by the ugly stick”….

http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/sharon-osbourne-apologizes-for-insulting-susan-boyle-appearance–1017159.php

The haters are gathering to torpedo Mya’s championship, and she needs all of our support by calling or texting the numbers listed here in this article.

Call or text now, before it is too late, and let’s help her bring home the award she has earned, and deserves, if all things are fair.

Mya & Dmitry Chaplin-800-VOTE4-11–or—–800-86834-11—-text—-3411

No matter who wins, and I hope it is Mya, rest assured that I will continue to watch ‘DWTS’ because the producers provide some of the best entertainment on free TV, and the dancers are all drop dead gorgeous,….like Donny’s partner Kym Johnson who makes me want to visit Australia if she is representative of the women that come from there.

So the counselling session was all booked. I was running a bit later than I had wanted but thought it would be ok. One of the reasons I was running late is that I had ducked by a chemist to get some antihistamines for my hayfever. My speed of ducking was not helped by the fact that on the way back to my car my sandal broke. Guess that is what you get for having cheap shoes made in Vietnam!

Anyway, it was a lovely hot day and I had been walking and not drinking enough water. I got in to my car, put the antihistamine in my mouth (wanted to feel a bit more perky for my counselling session), was grappling for my water bottle when I started to feel nauseous. I almost got the bottle of water to my mouth when I managed to vomit over the car. A very inauspicious start to my career counselling. Was nowhere near home to have the time to go home before my counselling session. However, I somehow managed to miss myself completely. Loads of tissues later (knew hayfever preparation had to be good for something) and I was on my way.

Then got caught in a traffic jam. The saving grace to this was that the career counsellor was stuck in the same jam.

The outcome? I actually had a good session and have some clear steps to take forward what I want to do.
