The most recent addition to the family of lovely and talented Miss Novembers is 2009’s Playboy Playmate of the Month, Kelley Brooke Thompson.

Miss D and I were talking about the television program “The Girls Next Door” a little while back and I commented, “Don’t even talk to me about Holly Madison right now; I am so mad at her. I would’ve credited her with more brains than this. I’m so disappointed in her.”

This was in reference to the I-once-thought-shrewd Ms. Madison having lost her mind, broken up with Hugh Hefner, and moved out of the mansion to be with that filthy hobo illusionist Criss Angel, who has, on top of that, now broken up with her. Both Miss D and I were completely familiar with the details of all this: I don’t have cable but Miss D keeps me up to speed on the choice, juicier details of reality television, and naturally I keep my own eye on goings-on in the Playboy empire. We are not the only ones, it seems! Ms. Thompson credits “The Girls Next Door,” E!’s reality show about the life of the playmates at Hef’s mansion in Holmby Hills, as the inspiration for her decision to become a nude model.

Kelley has wanted to be a Playmate ever since she became a fan of “The Girls Next Door” four years ago. “I immediately fell in love with Hef and the girls on that show, and I was, like, ‘Wow, it would be really awesome to experience something like that. It’d be like a dream.’” (“Lone Star,” Playboy, November 2009)

You keep on chasing the dream, kiddo! I think Ms. Thompson looks pretty sweet and natural. No hate from this corner.

In keeping with the modern age of her appearance in the magazine, you can hit Ms. Thompson up on the myspace (her current mood is “giggly”!) or the twitter any ol’ time, although her myspace profile is set to private, so you will need an account and an accepted friend request from her to view her pictures. Kelley has the mixed bag of blessings of being the Playmate of the Month in the issue of Playboy featuring Marge Simpson on its cover. All hail the gimmicks brought about by the impending death of print media! I say it’s a mixed blessing because, while it means this issue is going to sell bunches more copies than normal, Ms. Thompson may find her pictorial and interview overshadowed by the Simpson shenanigans as far as what is being paid attention to within the pages of the issue. Good luck, kiddo! Time will tell!

The lovely and talented Claudia Jennings was Playboy’s Miss November 1969, and Playmate of the Year in 1970. Her birth name was Mary Eileen Chesterton. If it was me, I’d've changed my name too — but I would have just switched my first name to Chesty. Can you dig it? “Hi, I’m Chesty. Chesty Chesterton.” That is a name you can take straight to the mother effing bank!

Her father was a sales manager and her mother was a college professor. She was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and later moved to Evanston, Illinois, where she graduated from high school in 1968. Later that year, she joined the Hull House theater company in Chicago and got a job as a receptionist at the offices of Playboy magazine (the wiki).

Claudia feels it’s necessary for her, at this point in her career, to move to one coast or the other, for the Windy City’s theatrical opportunities are limited. “Every actress has her particular skills and drawbacks,” says Claudia. “It’s a show-business axiom that if you really want to overcome your limitations, you go to New York, but if you’re satisfied with your skills, then you’re ready for Hollywood. The reasoning is that with a stage play, you get to work with the same material over a longer period of time than you do with a film, so you have more of a chance to improve.” (“Acting Playmate,” Playboy, November 1969.)

Five years later she was unemployed, single, and depressed; ten years later, she was dead. If you ask me, she chose the wrong coast. I think her sadly short life took a left turn at Albuquerque when she left Chicago and went to that shithole Los Angeles. In Hollywood, she appeared on an episode of The Brady Bunch in 1973 and lived with songwriter Bobby Hart (actual birth name Robert Luke Harshman; do you suppose they called each other by their real names when they were at home, or went with the show biz handles? oh, I fervently hope he called her Chesty…) from 1970-1975. He was the less handsome half of the almost-kinda-famous songwriting duo Boyce and Hart.

I assume the boyfriend got her the part on The Brady Bunch because the Monkees and the Brady Bunch appeared in each other’s shit a lot and Boyce and Hart wrote (and sometimes performed) most of the tunes for the Monkees — please tell me it is not news to you that the Monkees were a sham act developed to be a sort of made-for-tv-Beatles — including “Last Train to Clarksville” and the show’s theme (“Hey, hey, we’re the Monkees,” etc). They also penned such hits as “I’m Not Your Stepping Stone” and “Come a Little Bit Closer.” Hart broke up with her in ‘75 and, living alone in much smaller quarters than she had been accustomed to, she got super-depressed, turned to a party crowd, and started regularly doing heroin and coke.

On the career side, throughout the 70’s, Claudia appeared in films, mainly just drive-in horror movie flicks. The wiki claimed they called her Queen of the B’s but I’m a huge B-movie guy and I have never heard this. I mean, I recognized her, but I didn’t think of her particularly as the queen. And the wiki has it somewhat wrong: I wouldn’t really call them B movies, because I associate that with an earlier genre of film, a la Ed Wood.

The types of 1970’s movies that Claudia was in are more like cult classics, thinly veiled excuses for weirdo softcore porn. Think of it as early skinemax, or very lite spatterporn. Personal favorites are Unholy Rollers about the motherfucking all-girl ROLLER DERBY (sorry, I get excited, cause, you know … sk8 or die), Deathsport, which takes place in the year 3000, and Gator Bait, which I believe needs no explanation.

In ‘79, she auditioned to replace Kate Jackson on Charlie’s Angels but good old Aaron Spelling and company were not fans of her Playboy credit and gave the job to Shelley Hack instead. (Hack’s turn as Tiffany Welles almost sank the show and she was fired in 1980 anyways, so whatever.)

On October 3, 1979, almost a decade to the day after her Playboy pictorial hit the newsstands, Claudia was driving to the home of her on-again, off-again boyfriend Stan Herman in Malibu to pick up her shit cause they had broken up again when her Volkswagen Beetle was hit by a van and she was killed. She was thirty years old.

Happy Halloween everyone!

This is the perfect opportunity to start featuring individual bunny costumes… starting with the Halloween print!

After prints were introduced to the bunny costume lineup in the early 70’s the all over look of the bunnies became more versatile.
Prints were more exclusive than the solid colored costumes as each club only fitted each print to a select few and no costume ever looked exactly alike.

The Halloween print bares resemblance to the holiday in its colors and patterns. Consisting of orange, black, yellow, red and brown, this was one of the two costume prints that had polka-dotted fabric.

In America the Halloween print was a rare print but more noticable in the clubs around Halloween, in the UK however the print was somewhat rare in regular circulation.

Within a year of the first bunny costume going into use at the clubs a number of changes were made.

One of  the most noticable changes came with the name tag, pinned to the right hip (left if the bunny was left-handed). This placement put the name tag at eye-level with the customers while serving them so they  could easily identify each bunny, soon the sides of the legs were heightened to lengthen the leg.

It was then when Playboy hired Chicago seamstress Renée Blot to prefect the design.
She got to work eliminating the need for a corset underneath the satin and together with Chicago corset maker Kabo came up with a boned one-piece costume.

By 1964 the design of the bodice was complete and has remained the same ever since.
The original satin had been replaced, bones had been added to the inside for support and the cups were now made from the same foam car seats are made out of, the costume was also a washable and highly durable one piece shell that came in only two cup sizes, 34 and 36D (which required most bunnies to stuff their bust with anything they could find, from plastic bags to bunny tails.)
The costume was now available in 12 colors with most popular being black, red peacock blue and emerald green.

With the costume the over sized ears were also modified to better frame a bunnies face and not be too overbearing on her head, the original fish net and later mesh dancer tights were replaced by Danskin sheer black and nude tights (bunnies had to wear one of each) and the tail was made larger to compliment a bunnies natural assets.

Through all the changes in the costume itself though, it still remained a regulation to wear 3″ died to match satin pumps, which the bunnies had to supply themselves by getting a swatch of their costume from the seamstress.

The most important change however came in adding the finishing touched to the look.
Even though Hef had always like the outfit he felt something was missing, the bunny costumes could easily be mistaken by bathing suits with ears and a tail pinned to it.
He went back to look at the Playboy logo, the original inspiration for the costume, and noticed that the bunny was wearing a bow tie.
Hef mentioned this to Renée and she came up with cuffs and a collar with a clip on bow tie to wear with the costume… this turned out to be the perfect addition in completing the bunny transformation.

The bunny costume truly is the work of great engineering and intelligence and for the almost 50 years that the bunny costume has been around it has been surrounded with mystique and certainly has become an icon in it’s own right.

The very first Playboy costumes were very different from what we know today.

The original inspiration came from the costumes worn by waitresses at a rival Chicago club “The Gaslight Club”.
As with the Gaslight outfits Hefner wanted his bunny outfits to be both modest and revealing at the same time, a perfect presentation of the “look but don’t touch” feel of the club.

He therefor knew that a legend was born when Ilsa Taurins, whose mother had designed the original concept, stepped into the half finished Playboy Club in Chicago, wearing the original satin bodice with ears and a fluffy tail.
Quickly, the right type of fabric was found and some boning added in the form of a corset… the costume was ready to be put into use.

So when a bunny was hired she had to go get herself a corset that fit and then take it to the Playboy club seamstress.
The seamstress would then fit the satin over the corset and make ears… who not always matched the color of the costume.
Then the bunnies would wear small yarn tails, black fish net stockings and high heels to complete the look.

This original design was used for a very shot time and only in the Playboy Club in Chicago, being updated within the first year from the opening of the club.

It did it’s job and within a month 14.000 keyholders had visited the club to view the fabulous Playboy bunnies.

In 1959, Playboy ran a feature on Key-clubs in the pages of its magazine.
The Key-clubs were a new type of club where membership was required to gain access.

In response to this article many of the magazine subscribers wrote in to express interest in visiting a Playboy club and were asking if such a club existed.
Hugh Hefner, the founder and owner of the magazine, immediately  liked the idea of a club where his ideas and philosophy of a modern lifestyle could come to life outside his Playboy mansion so he set to work creating his own dream world.

Hefner realized that the most important part of the club would be the waitresses.
His magazine was all about beautiful women and the waitresses had to be every man’s fantasy, his first idea was to have women who looked like his regular playmates wear nighties as a service uniform but quickly dismissed that due to how unsafe and unpractical it was.

It was then when Victor Lownes, Hugh Hefner’s friend,  who suggested to dress the waitresses up as bunnies.
Hef had originally thought of his bunny head logo as a male rabbit so he didn’t take to the idea right away but Lownes got his girlfriend and her mother to put together a prototype costume, showed it to Hef and the rest is history.

The Playboy bunny was born.

Det er over tre år siden vi giftet oss – eller forgiftet oss som vi pleier å spøke med – etter over 6 års samboerskap. Vigselen var gjennom Human-Etisk Forbund, såkalt humanistisk vigsel. Hvorfor vi valgte det er det mange grunner til som jeg ikke skal komme inn på i akkurat dette innlegget. Vi gjorde det vi følte var riktig for oss, og vi er strålende fornøyde med hvordan det ble.
Jeg vet det er mange der ute som søker og leter etter hvordan en slik vigsel er, derfor tenkte jeg å gjengi litt av det vi opplevde på vår store dag.

Vi hadde stor innflytelse på hvordan vielsen skulle legges opp. Faktisk var det vi som la opp alle punkt, med rettledning fra vigsleren. Bryllupet stod på hjemgården min i Nord-Norge, en kald julidag i 2006.

Vi valgte altså å sette på hverandre ringer i seremonien. Dette var helt valgfritt. Dessuten valgte vi å avrunde med et kyss, og at vi signerte papirene utenfor teltet etter utgangen.

Vigslerens tale var basert på samtale med oss i forkant av bryllupet. Vår vigsler hadde en nydelig og svært personlig tale. Hun beskrev oss som mennesker og hvilke verdier vi har, hvilke felles interesser vi har, hvordan vi viser kjærligheten vår i det daglige, hvordan vi møttes. I samtalen vi hadde før bryllupet spurte vigsleren oss på tomannshånd hvordan vi ville beskrive vår utvalgte. Dette svaret fikk vi ikke høre, og ikke røpet vi det for hverandre heller, før talen i seremonien.

Vi valgte å ha vielsen i telt, og at gjestene våre fikk sitte. Vi la opp en midtgang med rød løper, og et trappetrinn opp til “scenen”. Mange som har vielsen under åpen himmel velger å ikke ha stoler, men å selv stå med gjestene stående rundt.

Resten av bryllupet var også ganske spesielt; et skikkelig gårdsbryllup var det; feiring tre dager til endes! Vi hadde grillfest kvelden før, bryllupsfest og dagen etter var de fleste av oss samlet til brunch i teltet med masse god restemat og kaker.

Vi fikk bryllupet vårt akkurat slik vi ønsket, med den rammen som var perfekt for oss.

Its interesting how Preachers who are giving us an interpretation of God’s Word and his Will for us, are treated as a god and if they are involved in a fault, the public & the media attacks, their character, their lives and demeans them through mass communicative means.  Yet those who declare and live a lifestyle of anything that’s demoralizing, ’sinful’, and or unethical, no one attacks them.  In fact, they are revered and spread by the media as business successes, like Hugh “Hef” Heffner.

Read from his own site at playboy enterprises: Frequently interviewed by major news and entertainment media the world over, Hefner was the subject of a 2003 A&E special, Playboy’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, a star-studded two-hour event filmed at the Playboy Mansion featuring live music, comedy performances and interviews.  Hefner was also profiled in a two-hour special, Hugh Hefner: American Playboy, as part of A&E’s prestigious Biography series in 1996.  That program was so well received that it was repeated in its entirety on the network only three months after its original airing.

Many preachers who have also done well financially, are not treated like Mr. Heffner, but shot down as false preachers, deceitful, deal with devil makers, etc.  Of course, I am not saying all preachers are true deliverers and worshipers of the one and only Lord and Creator of all we see, but we should know them by their fruit.  Its just interesting to see how deeply and quickly they are crucified by the people, while they allow lovers of the carnal to go unchallenged.

A while ago, Lindsay Lohan was approached by Playboy to do a spread for them.  They offered her $500,000 and she declined.  They said that they needed to have her in it so they countered her with a $900,000 offer.  Apparently, now she’s thinking about it.

I’ll be honest.  I don’t need to see that woman naked.  She’s already been nude a million times and she’s slept with damn near everyone in this world but me so I can’t imagine anyone else cares either.  The last thing this world needs is a magazine that’s full of freckles and spontaneously combusts whenever you open to a picture of her crotch.  Don’t even get me started on the WHO uproar that will ensue once these magazines gets published and everyone contracts Gonahepasyphylscapes.

Kendra Wilkinson is going from girl next door to mom next door.

The reality TV star and her fiancé, Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver Hank Baskett, announced that they are expecting their first child together. The pair is also set to marry later this month.

What will Kendra and Hank name their bundle of joy? According to People.com, if the baby is a girl, expect a combination of Kendra’s first initial and her middle name, Leigh, for the hybrid Kaleigh. If it’s a boy, he’ll follow in the tradition of his dad, Hank III, and be christened Hank IV.

Everybody wants to know if the future Mrs. Baskett will ask her ex, Hugh Hefner, to be the child’s godfather. Within the Predicto Mobile community, 65% of respondents predict that she will ask Hef to take on the role.

“She probably wants her kid to be financially stable for the rest of [its] lifetime with a great godparent,” says user “rmis0391.” Others agree, but for more gold-digging reasons. “She will for the money and gifts that may come with it,” says “vaez8677.”

“Why would you want your ex to be the godfather [of] your child [with] someone else?” says no-voter “gejf5983.” “That would be weird. I wouldn’t ask my ex to do that.”

Yup, former Girl Next Door Kendra is having a baby!  She announced her pregnancy when she was asked why she didn’t participate in the champagne toast at her bridal shower.  (Apparently, according to Perez, her mother and grandmother are pissed because they found out at the same time as everyone else…)  Congratulations to Kendra and her hubby-to-be, Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett!  Can you imagine?  A baby bunny at Hef’s mansion, just coming to hang out and play.  That would bring a whole new meaning to the phrase “playmate”, would it not?

Kendra Wilkinson’s reality show premiered last night on VH1 and was full of surprises. The other “Girls Next Door”, Holly and Bridget, swung by to check out her new digs, the house she is to share with her fiance, NFL player Hank Baskett. Her housewarming party was a hit with surprise guests Too $hort (I know, I don’t get it either) and even Hef himself dropping by (with 2 new girlfriends in tow) to wish Kendra luck as she embarks on this new chapter of her life….

Couple Things….

1. I am thoroughly disgruntled that the theme song is performed by Too $hort and that the phrase ‘Go Kendra’ is repeated throughout. I am further upset by the fact that he made an appearance at her party and is not ashamed to contribute to this malarkey.

and 2. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING, HANK? I mean, really? I had no idea who you were before this so, hmmm, maybe that has something to do with why you are doing it. BUT, do you have to look like such a simpy sambo?
