Denne uka har jeg ikke blogga i det hele : O Men det har ikke skjedd så mye heller egentlig. Jeg kan dønn seriøst ikke huske hva som skjedde på mandag, det står helt stille, men på tirsdag var jeg hos Håkon en tur, og fikk hilst på mora og hunden hans : ) På onsdag var det jo som vanlig Røde Kors, hvor vi så smått begynte å planlegge et fotoprosjekt. Etterpå lekte jeg med Anahita og Håkon, men så måtte Anahita gå, og dermed ble det bare meg og Håkon igjen. Vi lekte litt til, helt til han fikk vondt i hånda  x]  I går kom BJ og Odd Arne en til Vanse, og jeg lekte ei lita stund med de før de for til Adina, og jeg til Hege : ) Jeg og Hege prata om alt og ingenting, før vi møtte Ine og joina henne med en røyk. Så blei jeg henta -.-’ Og idag så var det meningen at jeg skulle gjøre emg klar til bursdag hos Marie, men selvsagt blei jeg sjuk  “/. Jeg kommer meg kanskje ut til Marie, men da trenger jeg ei stor dose med overbevisning til mamma.

The Oakland Police Department’s SWAT team has won a prestigious competition, seven months after two team members, as well as two other officers, were shot and killed in confrontation with a wanted parolee.

“We’re very happy after what we all went through earlier this year,” Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said Tuesday, referring to the March 21 incident in which the four officers were killed.

Alameda County Sheriff Gregory Ahern announced Monday night that the Oakland Police Department is the 2009 winner of the Urban Shield SWAT competition, which was held over the weekend and drew 27 tactical teams from all over the world, including Boston and France.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. J.D. Nelson said the announcement was met with a standing ovation by more than 1,500 people who attended the awards ceremony at the U.S.S. Hornet in Alameda.

He said the crowd chanted “OPD” as a show of support for the Oakland Police Department.

Nelson said the tactical teams were judged on 25 tactical situations at locations throughout the Bay Area over the course of 48 hours in what many consider to be the toughest tactical training exercise in the country.

In a statement, Ahern, whose department hosted the competition and also competed in it, said of the Oakland police tactical team, “It was obvious by the way they competed they were on a mission to win this for their fallen brothers. Everyone in the crowd was very proud and emotional at their well-deserved victory.”

Oakland Police Chief Anthony Batts said he’s “very proud” of the tactical team and “this is truly a great accomplishment despite facing much adversity this year.”

The members of Oakland’s winning team are Sgts. Pat Gonzales and Roland Holmgren and Officers Frank Uu, Chris Saunders, Casey Johnson, Anwawn Jones, Shane Tarum and Marty Ziebarth.

According to Oakland police, in the March 21 incident parolee Lovelle Mixon shot and killed Sgt. Mark Dunakin and Officer John Hege when they made a traffic stop on him at 74th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard.

Police said Mixon then fled to his sister’s apartment about a block away at 2755 74th Ave. and killed Sgts. Ervin Romans and Daniel Sakai when they and other members of the SWAT team entered the apartment.

One bullet grazed Gonzales’s protective helmet and a second bullet entered and exited his shoulder. He was treated and released after the incident.

Mixon was eventually shot and killed by other officers.

Oakland’s SWAT team was temporarily removed from action after the incident because Romans and Sakai were unit leaders and new leaders had to be trained.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s detail handled Oakland’s SWAT calls for more than two months, but Oakland’s SWAT team went back into operation in late May.

Thomason said Sakai’s widow, Jennifer Sakai, and Gonzales accepted the award on behalf of Oakland’s SWAT team.

Hadde ikke sett henne på lenge, det vil si siden sommerfesten hos Adina! : O Vi hadde dermed, logiskt nok, masse å prate om. : ) Folk plystra på oss og gratulerte oss fordi vi gikk å holdt rundt hverandre xD Det var jævlig gøy egentlig, samtidig som det ble irriterende når folk ble helt stille ide vi gikk forbi xD Men det var kjempekos å treffe henne igjen, og håper det ikke blir så lenge til neste gang! : )

Dette ble et kort blogg-innlegg, men har noe lekser igjen på arbeisplanen som må gjøres, så blogges ; P

Dagen idag begynte med to timer med MOT-besøk, noe som egentlig var ganske greit : ) Vi skulle lage et kart med et fotball-lag, der vi var keeperen selv, og så skulle vi plassere folk rundt på banen etter hvilken rolle de har for deg. Forsvars-spillerne var dine nærmeste o.s.v. Mine forsvars-spillere var Odd Arne, Biwi, Ine, og Hege. På midtbanen kom Else og BJ. Og borte ved det andre målet skulle vi plassere vårt mål, og personer som er viktige for at vi skal nå det målet vi har satt oss. Mitt mål var å bli journalist, og de som pusher meg, stiller opp, og gir meg pågangsmot havna der oppe. Det var mamma, mor, Emma og Adina : ) Alle disse folkene spiller en viktig rolle i livet mitt, og selvsakt har jeg flere som spiller en stor rolle, men som ikke kunne nevnes på arket ettersom det ikke var plass. : ) Men de folkene som ble nevnt: Jeg bryr meg om dere, er glad i dere, og stolte over å kjenne noen så flotte som dere! : ) Det samme gjelder såklart de andre vennene og bekjentene mine, men jeg satser på  å ikke begynne å ramse opp i redsel for å glemme noen : ) <3

Deretter hadde jeg engelsk, og så var det matte time. I de to siste timene var det gym, noe jeg ikke skulle ha : P Jeg måtte derimot løpe rundt å plukke søppel, noe Hege gjorde utholdelig : D Uten henne hadde det vært uutholdelig : P  Selv om jeg er stolt medlem av Natur & Ungdom, Grønn Ungdom og Miljøpartiet De Grønne, kan jeg umulig si at søppelplukking er gøy, hvertfall ikke uten å lyge : P

Så hadde jeg en samtale med sosiallæreren på skolen, Kjell. Han ville gjerne snakke om hvordan jeg har det, hvordan jeg har hatt det, og ting jeg opplever og har opplevd (ganske masse rot, ingenting å dra opp i dette innlegget hvertfall. Får se om jeg legger ut livshistoria mi på seksten års dagen ).

Må fortsette å pugge til historie-prøven jeg skal ha i mårra, så må stikke : P

I like eggplant, but I’m done eating eggplant for at least six months. For small group yesterday, everyone brought an eggplant dish and thought of a service/gift that they wanted to give. We voted on the best eggplant dish and that person (Jen ended up winning with eggplant pizza) got to pick which service she wanted (Hege’s; she offered eggplant lasagna).

I ended up with Andrew’s gift–3 small water bottles and Starbuck’s new coffee mix (which you can now apparently mix with cold water), but I don’t drink coffee, so Thomas traded with me (Christine offered to bake at least three dozen cookies–crazy right?).

It’s unfortunate that I don’t eat cookies either.

Dan and I took Hege and Andrew out for Hege’s birthday and to thank them for letting me stay with them. We went to 6 degrees on Solano. I think it’s supposed to be Spanish with Italian influences–they had small plates as well as entrees. We got a variety of food: beet salad, paella, tortellini, ahi, and ceviche. (Ceviches are interesting; you leave seafood in some kind of citrus and it cooks the seafood.)

I decided that I don’t like staff that are overly friendly. It’s overbearing and misleading–or perhaps my own expectations are too high. I much prefer the rudeness of a Chinese waitress. At least I know where I stand.

(I say these things, but I’m not sure if I really mean them. I think human beings just like to complain.)

Afterward, we talked about the lives of politicians, rappers, and athletes. How their wives dealt with the fame, the money, the scandals. How rappers’ wives regulated like no other.

The general consensus was that there is something about power and money that makes people go a little crazy.

Helgen kommer nok til å gå til jobbing, om man får igang maskina. Ellers skal jeg starte et lite stevne, som vi tar som et treningsstevne for å få opp selvtilliten på hest og rytter.. Vi starter 70 og 80 cm, som bare er pingleklasser egentlig.. Men det var ikke høyere, så da tar man det man får Søndag håper jeg på at det blir litt sløvedag, trenger det.. Kroppen går i stå, den begynner å bli bedre, men mye stress utløser alt for mange mingreneanfall.. Når det er opptil flere i uka, som varer over et døgn, da er det noe rart. Menmen! Det håper jeg at forandrer seg.

Chaval skal til min trener Louise Almlund for en mnd nå på mandag, og jeg må si at jeg gleder meg! Gleder meg til å se han sterkere, og å få undervisning mye oftere. Jeg var til saltilpasser på onsdag og fikk blokka ut bommen i salen hans, nå er den vel på Vid +, og da begynner’n å bli stor gutt da! Forhåpentligvis får vi startet i MB i løpet av høsten, da blir det å ut med hatt og kandar! Endelig! Da skal det taes haugevis av bilder og filmer. Synes det er stiiilig med hatt, jeg. Bortsett fra prislappen da… Men det er vel en annen sak

Oh yeah, da e det 5 daga til sommerfestivalen i Selbu. Æ huske i fjor da vi va på vei hjem, va vi rågira på neste års festival. Å det va allerede på vei hjem! Nu e den endelig snart, og æ glæde mæ som en liten unge! Herregud, som det tok av i fjor! Særlig lørdagen! Haha, Hege fikk ikke med sæ nåkka, hu blekka klokka 22.00 og våkna 04.00! Det ska ikke skje med mæ i år vertfall Å vedde på Hege ikke har planer om det heller

I går kveld fikk æ besøk av Hege. Bestemt oss for å lage brownies, så da tok vi turen på butikken. Kjørt også innom en bussholdeplass på tempe, fordi der e det en plakat for diplom is. En gutt som rusje ned fra en is og ut i havet, det e nemlig søskenbarnet mitt Ble en rolig kveld i går. Satt å leita etter humoristiske klipp på youtube. Og herregud, som vi flira. Litt sliten og sånn etter jobb da vettu, så alt ble ganske morsomt. Men vi kosa oss vi, og det e jo det viktigste.

When four Oakland police officers were shot and killed last month, including two who regularly worked events at the Coliseum, the A’s said they planned to recognize the officers and the Oakland Police Department during the home opener.

In fact, the tribute will last all season. The A’s announced this morning that they will wear OPD patches on their sleeves throughout 2009.

Sgts. Mark Dunakin, Ervin Romans and Daniel Sakai and Officer John Hege, killed on March 21, will be honored during a pre-game ceremony that begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. More than 50 officers will take part in the event, and the National Anthem will be performed by a member of the department.

Donations for the officer’s family trust funds may be made at locations around the Coliseum. Player donations and silect auction proceeds also will go to the trust funds. The A’s owners will match the funds raised and an equal donation will be made to each of the officers’ families or their chosen charity.

In addition, the A’s are providing a special law enforcement ticket offer for the three-game series.

“On behalf of the entire Oakland A’s organization, our deepest condolences go out to the members of the Oakland Police Department and the family members of the officers involved in this terrible tragedy,” owner Lew Wolff said in a release. “These officers served as security during many of our games throughout the years. Our hearts and prayers go out to all law enforcement officials who dedicate their lives to the public safety of our neighborhoods and citizens. We appreciate the job they do every day protecting our community.”

Før jeg går nærmere inn på dagens tittel, er det på sin plass å gi Hege en nærmere omtale. Hege innehar verdensrekorden i etablering av vennskap med undertegnede. Noe av grunnen til dette må selvfølgelig tilskrives min standheftighet og oppsøkende virksomhet; som må sies å være ganske så omfattende. Likevel. Noen ganger sier det bare klikk. Det er det som skjedde mellom Hege og meg. For de av dere som ikke kjenner bakgrunnen for dette vennskapet, kan det nevnes at Hege er en av de flotte jentene som står for tilførsel av kaffe på mitt lokale tilholdssted. Derav den oppsøkende virksomheten. Som er ganske omfattende. Må sies.  En kontakt ble opprettet, videreført og etablert. Et tilfeldig møte ble grunnlaget for et vennskap av den helt spesielle sorten.  De fine i mitt liv er de som gjør små ting for å heve kvaliteten på tilværelsen for andre. Derav også meg. Hege må sies å være en av de fine.

Og heldigvis, i retrospekt, legger preferanser en hindring fra å besudle det vennskap som nå er.

Da jeg på sedvanelig vis var innom kaffebrenneriet på min vei til andre gjøremål i hverdagen i dag tidlig, overrasket Hege meg med overrekkelsen av en gave. Ikke en gave fordi det det nærmer seg bursdagen min. Noe det selvfølgelig godt kunne ha vært. Men en overraskelse som sprang ut av hennes innsikt i mine interesser og fascinasjoner. En kjennskap om du vil.

Se. Et skjerf. Et Harry Potter-skjerf. Som jeg har ønsket meg. Lenge. Uten at jeg selv har gjort noe for å gå til anskaffelse av ett. Nå vil mange kanskje synes at jeg er noe for gammel for å ha en lidenskap for den verdenen som er ført i pennen av J.K Rowling. Til det sier jeg bare at man aldri må glemme å leke. Gjør man det har livet mistet noe av sin mening. Hver dag bør inneholde et eventyr. Om ikke annet må man prøve å ha det som utgangspunkt. I en dag som raskt kunne ha blitt preget av paragrafer og frustrasjon over at min masteroppgave går over sine bredder, skapte Hege et øyeblikk som gjorde dagen til noe mer. For det vil jeg være henne evig takknemlig. Det er slikt som skiller de fine fra de andre.

Hege, neste gang du er syk, må du for all del sørge for å informere meg. Jeg blir ikke kalt det vandrende apoteket uten grunn. C-vitamin kunne ha vært mitt mellomnavn. Slik som smør er mitt kallenavn.

When awful, unexplainable things happen, sometimes the best thing is a warm meal served by a friend who has been there before.

That’s why Oakland firefighters loaded up on hamburger and tri-tip steak and took over the kitchen at the Oakland Police Officers Association, to serve comfort food to a force reeling from the slaying of four of its officers last weekend.

Firefighters lit the grill and worked the room, offering round-the-clock meals and conversation since Monday morning.

“We are there to talk to the guys,” said Lt. Chuck Garcia, president of the Oakland branch of the International Association of Firefighters. “This is a big, crazy city. We have to be there for each other.”

Two professional counselors and a medical doctor also are offering their services.

Grief is rippling from department headquarters on Seventh Street throughout the city after the shooting deaths Saturday of Sgts. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy, Ervin Romans, 43, of Danville, and Daniel Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley, by Lovelle Mixon, a 26-year-old parolee whom police had pulled over in a routine traffic stop. Mixon was killed in a shootout with SWAT officers.

Removed from ventilator

Motorcycle Officer John Hege, 41, of Concord was removed from a ventilator Monday night at Highland Hospital in Oakland after donating organs.

“Everyone is trying to understand what the hell just happened here,” said Sgt. Dom Arotzarena, president of the Oakland Police Officers Association.

The outpouring of support from the firefighters – and from elected officials such as city Councilman Larry Reid and state Attorney General Jerry Brown, who have been coming to the association offices every day since the killings – has been an enormous help to officers who want to talk, he said.

Many officers also have opened their homes for grief gatherings, Arotzarena said.

Libraries are collecting cards, condolence books are coming from City Hall, Whole Foods sent more food, and flowers are taking up half the police station foyer.

Jeff Thomason, spokesman for the Oakland police, said he is getting several hundred e-mails a day from well-wishers.

“It’s overwhelming,” he said. “Police agencies from all over the country are coming to the funeral. Boston is sending 50, I’ve heard from New York, Baltimore, and all the California agencies are coming.”

$40,000 donation

Although Arotzarena had not yet tallied the donations, the largest one so far came Tuesday from the Morongo Band of Mission Indians in Palm Springs. The tribe sent $40,000, to be divided equally among the four officers’ families, along with a personal letter from tribal Chairman Robert Martin.

Dennis Miller, a member of the tribal council, said the tribe was touched by similar violence in the late 1990s, when two sheriff’s deputies were murdered during a domestic violence call in Riverside County.

“There are … orphans now,” said Miller, referring to the children of the slain Oakland police officers. “Our donation is a way to send a signal that we’re not going to tolerate this kind of violence anymore.”

Hundreds gathered Tuesday night in East Oakland at the site of a traffic stop gone bad Saturday that led to the deaths of four Oakland police officers, to honor the fallen officers and sound a message of hope for a city troubled by violence.

A diverse crowd poured in from around the region with men, women and children carrying lit candles and signs reading “Oakland/Peace.”

“This is our community,” said Julie Hadnot, 42, an Oakland resident who attended with other members of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. “This is our neighborhood. We are here to be in solidarity with our brothers and sisters, and to show support for the city of Oakland and its healing.”

State and local elected officials and law-enforcement officers from around the Bay Area joined in offering condolences to the Oakland Police Department, which the past few days has suffered one of the darkest periods in its history.”We’re going to get through this,” said Howard Jordan, who had been acting chief three weeks when the shootings occurred. “But we’re going to get through this with the support of you, other law-enforcement families and our personal families.”

Jordan said he has received more than 3,000 letters, cards and e-mails.

“I’ve read every e-mail that you’ve sent me,” he said. “I’ve read every card that you’ve sent, and we appreciate it. It means a lot to me, and to the men and women of the Oakland Police Department.”

Tuesday’s vigil — punctuated by singing by the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, poetry by Oakland youths and the release of six doves — came three days before a public service for the officers set for Friday at Oracle Arena. The 11 a.m. service is expected to draw thousands to Oakland.Killed Saturday were Sgts. Mark Dunakin, 40, of Tracy; Erv Romans, 43, of Danville; and Daniel Sakai, 35, of Castro Valley. Officer John Hege, 41, of Concord, also was shot Saturday and declared brain-dead Sunday. He was taken off life support late Monday.

Their killer was Lovelle Mixon, 26, of Oakland, who was shot dead by police. He was an at-large parolee whom police linked Monday to the rape of a 12-year-old girl on 74th Avenue in February. Investigators also said he could be responsible for at least one other sexual assault and possibly more in the same area.

The killings have drawn attention to Oakland from across the state and nation.

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians in Riverside County said Tuesday it donated $10,000 to each of the officers’ families. The White House spoke with Mayor Ron Dellums on Monday to express the administration’s condolences and to indicate that President Barack Obama hoped to speak with the families of the officers. It is not clear whether Obama has been in touch with the families.

The shootings also have played into an oft-repeated narrative of Oakland as a city rocked by runaway violence, where tensions between the police and the community run high and, all too often, boil over.

Councilmember Desley Brooks, who led the organization of the vigil and whose sixth district includes the area where the shootings occurred, said Tuesday’s event represented the true “sentiments of this community.”

“It was a diverse crowd that came out here,” Brooks said. “And there are many people who care about the police, appreciate them and aren’t the picture that’s been portrayed since Saturday about this community.”

She said “there are a lot of people motivated to see change come about” in the wake of the officers’ deaths.

“There are some legitimate concerns that the community has about the relationship with the Police Department,” she said, “and we need to find a way to bridge that.”

Jack Peters, the 65-year-old father of an Oakland police officer, said Tuesday night: “I’m leaving with hope. “… Out of (something) very bad, maybe there’s some good. And I am anticipating something good. And I’m just praying we can get through this.”

An Oakland Police officer shot Saturday during a series of gunbattles that claimed the lives of three other officers was declared brain dead this morning, Oakland police said today.

Motorcycle officer John Hege, 41, had been in grave condition after being shot during a traffic stop at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at noon today, according to Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason. Hege’s fellow motorcycle officer, Sgt. Mark Dunakin, died at the scene of that shooting.

Two hours later, a SWAT team exchanged gunfire with a suspect in an apartment on 74th Avenue near Hillside Street. Two SWAT officers, Sgt. Ervin Romans and Sgt. Daniel Sakai, died in that battle as did the suspect, identified by police as Lovelle Mixon, 26.

A fifth member of the SWAT team was also shot, treated for minor injuries and released.

Sergeant Mark Dunakin and Officer John Hege were shot and killed during a traffic stop at 74th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard. During the stop, the driver opened fire, killing Sergeant Dunakin and mortally wounding Officer Hege. Citizens who witnessed the incident called 911 and started CPR on both officers.

The suspect fled on foot, leading to an intense manhunt by dozens of officers from the Oakland Police Department, California Highway Patrol and Alameda County Sheriff’s Department.

At approximately 3:30 pm the Oakland Police Department received an anonymous tip that the suspect was barricaded inside an apartment building on 74th Avenue.

Officers first attempted to negotiate with the suspect, but when that failed a SWAT team was sent into the location to apprehend the suspect. As the SWAT officers approached, the suspect opened fired with a rifle, killing Sergeant Ervin Romans and Sergeant Daniel Sakai, and wounding a third officer. Officers returned fire, killing the 26-year-old male suspect.

It was later determined that the suspect had an extensive violent criminal history and was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon. At the time of the incident he had a no-bail parole warrant.

We wanted to use this site to accentuate the positive police officers do because we feel so much of the press focuses on the negative.  In keeping with that, we consciously chose not to do ‘officer down’ posts feeling there were officer sites dedicated to their memorials that could do a better job.

Unfortunately,  there’s no ignoring what happened in Oakland yesterday.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of these officers.  Thank you for your service and dedication to your community. Our prayers are for you, your family and your fellow officers.

Ho er utrolig flink til å ta bilder, har tatt noen av meg, det er en stund siden nå, men kan jo legge et par 3 ut forde(:

Nå har jeg laget treningsprogram til gymmen imorgen lizm. Det tok meg litt tid ettersom eg ikke e så pro på sånne ting.

Idag har eg bare daffet og spilt data, skikkelig usunn dag, med pizza og brus. Må slanke meg snart på en måte! I natt festet jeg forresten en ny hylle på rommet mitt, til dvdene. Og jeg talte over dem og fant ut at det var 83 dvder der :S det er 8300kr i dvder det, kunne kjøpt meg en ny tv lizm!

Jeg fant en gøy sang fra soundtracken til rovdyr. Nemlig Josefine med Inger Lise Rypdal, den kan du også se ved å klikke her.

Imorgen får eg besøk av Hege, vi skal lage oss mat og kose oss

En tårevåt avskjed med familie og venner . Maren, Karoline og Hege er klare for å
oppleve Australia.

Nå er de på flyet til London. I natt flyr de til Hong Kong. Og så er det videre
til New Zealand og så endelig Sidney på tirsdag.
Det er vanskelig å forestille seg det de skal ut på. Og det er rart
at vi ikke skal sees før til neste jul.

-Dere må ha god tur, og skriv noen ord så ofte at vi ikke begynner å bekymre oss.

Jeg vet jo fra før at mitt lille kamera ikke er noe særlig i innelys.
Bildene her er det Ørjan som har tatt. Uten blitz, derfor er de så 
grovkornede. Men det er bedre enn de jeg tok, med røde øyne.

- Skulle gjerne visst hva de tre som står sammen med Karoline heter. Noen som kan hjelpe?
