Mun ei yleensä tuu kateltuu telkkaria ku iltasin, mut tos joku aika sit (kesk = kauan ennen sikakaranteenia) satuin sit röhnöttää sohvalla jo päiväsaikaan, olisko ollu joku arkikrapula tai vastaava… anyway, nelonen päällä ja ruudusa So you think you can dance (Tanssi jos osaat) -niminen jenkkisarja ja jotenki jäin koukkuun – instant bondaus!

Kysees on siis vähä niinku Idols tai Talent, mut pelkästään tanssijoille: riittää, että osaa tanssia – lajilla ei väliä, tosin sit joutuu kyl adaptoituun itelle vieraisiinkin tyyleihin. Aluks on noloja karsintoja, sit tiukkaakin tiukempi vegasviikko. Ja sieltä sitten karsitaan top 20 varsinaiseen “ohjelmaan” 10 miestä ja 10 naista.

Ite ohjelmassa tanssiparit arvotaan ja joka viikko sit arvotaan parille myös tanssilaji. Siellä on esim moni b-boy ollu paskat housussa ku arpa on osunu vaikka quickstepin kohalle. Siinä on kyl yks perkele tanssilajiks, huhhuh. Hiki kirpoo otsalle pelkästä kattelusta. Ei ne tuomarit sitä turhaan kutsu termillä “kiss of death”

No juu, mut joka viikko kolme vähiten ääniä saanutta paria joutuu tanssiin vielä soolot ja ekana viitenä viikkona tuomaristo päättää ketkä mies ja nainen tippuu pelistä pois. Sit top 10:n kohalla kaikki valta on katsojilla aka jenkkiäänestäjillä, joiden äänet määrää ketkä tipahtaa. Kisassa etsitään siis jenkkilän suosikkitanssijaa, ei niinkään aina “parasta”. Tanssilajeista edustettuna on ollu ainaki hip hop, krump, perus valssit (wiener, hidas ja tavis), tangot (normi ja arkku), foxtrot, samba, salsa, mambo, rumba, broadway, chacha, jive, nykytanssi, jazz, disco, bollywood, paso doble, quicstep, jne jne jne… kaikkee löytyy kyl.

Mut siis ihan loistavaa, meitsi likettää. Täs sarjas on oikeesti lahjakkaita ihmisiä (+ hotteja pimuja, useempi selkeesti päivän_pimu_matskua), ihan parhaat tuomarit, loistavat koreografit ja kakkoskaudesta eteenpäin hoteista hotein juontaja Cat Deeley. Mietin pitkään et mikä tekee tästä niin paljon idolsii hienomman formaatin ja tajusin, ettei täs tuu ollenkaan sitä myötähäpeen ja yleisen vitutuksen tunnetta, ja se jos mikä on priceless! Ja tietty varmaan yks tekijä on sekin et tanssin itekin, niin tää kolahti senkin takia ihan täysillä. On toi tanssi vaan hieno liikuntamuoto ja upee taiteenlaji! <3456677

En tajua miten oon pystynyt missaa ton sarjan näin pitkään. No mut parempi kai myöhään ku ei milloinkaan, nyt oon siis kattellu nettitelkusta ekat viis kautta kokonaan hävyttömän lyhyel aikavälil ja kutoskautta sitä mukaa ku se jenkeis ilmestyy! Oottekos te muut seurannu kyseistä sarjaa?

Die afgelope twee weke was vir my hartseer en sommer net frustrerend.  Stories in ons land wat my verbaas laat staan oor ons mense se waardesisteme.  Dis weereens ‘n tyd, waar mense roekeloos raak in hulle dade en dit lyk asof ou opgebottelde woede oorloop, en asof ons mense nodig het om reaktief te wees en dus nie ander nie in ag neem nie.  Dis nog steeds ‘n gekompliseerde jaar vir baie, ekonomiese struikelblokke, ongeantwoorde vrae, korrupsie, armoede, stress tussen werkers, “falling heroes”, reversed rascism, noem die topic en dit is daar…Met diverse stories vanuit gemengde groepe, hoor ek soveel opinies, maar die die een ding wat kop-bo-water uitstaan, is mense is weer bekommerd oor die geweld, die rassisme, die korrupsie, die armoede, die blah, blah, blah…   is hulle moeg, moeg gesukkel, moeg gekla, moeg ge????  Wat gaan aan? (Nie al weer nie, is hoe ek voel oor die ou koeie) is die bewustheid van om ander lief te he soos jouself, net iets mooi wat jy op ‘n sticker sit en agter op jou kar plak?  Soos om ‘n SABC-roofkyker te wees, word ons ook roofkykers van ons eie beliefs, doen wat ons wil, niemand kyk nie?  Paulo Coelho het ‘n studie gedoen, waar hy van sy lesers gevra het wat hulle opinie oor Xenophobia is.  Ek deel dit met julle. Xenophobia is ‘n wereldwye verskynsel en bring wel bewustheid, van hoe die mens se grootste vrese ontbloot word, wanneer hy te doen het met die andersheid van ‘n vreemdeling.

Ruth: Life means adventure, change, things that not everybody has the courage to face and accept. I wonder if he wants to infiltrate his ideas and destroy the world that we have built with so much toil?”

D.H.: For a few months in 2001 I had an Arab student living in my home here in Boston. Everyone admired his kindness, and on many an evening we would gather in a local bar to chat about the customs of his country. Right after the attacks of the 11th September, the very same people who had laughed the day before at his stories began to hate him.

Dasha: Xenophobia isn’t just the fear of strangers, it’s being afraid of what happens between different generations. Most people are afraid of today, they prefer to live in the past. My country (Russia) is an excellent example of this.

Aspen: Every child, if he is raised with the necessary amount of strictness and freedom, could collaborate infinitely to make this planet a better place to live. But one of the first things we learn is “not to talk to strangers”.

Warrior of Running Water: Here in Denmark we have a festival that lasts about a week and attracts 100,000 strangers to celebrate life, share common interests and learn from the differences. People embrace for no reason except being on the same path, they sing and get drunk together. When the festival is over, a strange atmosphere takes over the town again, and strangers are once more seen as a threat.

Neel P.: We have to trust in love. We have to remember what we were told: “love your neighbor as yourself”. If we trust in love, we don’t need to fear anything any more, but the truth is that we never trust enough…

Radek: People in my country (Poland) lived through the tyranny of Hitler and the Soviet oppression, and they don’t seem to have learned anything. It terrifies me to see people who experienced the horrors of Nazism behaving the same way today, avoiding everything that is unknown or different. The worst of it all is that they use religion to justify their acts, arguing that all those who aren’t Christians should be banished from society. This blind faith is worse than having no faith at all.

I receive emails from a website called mindfulness.com, and the one newsletter I received today, was about thankfulness.   This time of year everybody is preparing their so-called end-of-year STUFF, whether it is parties, or planning for the holiday or just crash and burn, exhausted by whatever 2009 dealt them.  Then there is all the talk about commercialism, the silly season, etc. etc.  But for me, it is a time of good-byes, thanksgiving, and celebrations.  I have blogged before on gratitude, but I would like to share the following insights, which I found refreshing and a reminder to, why we do what we do.

Practicing Thankfulness…Even in Difficult Times
As we continue to experience difficult times, it may feel like a tough time to be thankful. Yet practicing thankfulness is one of the most powerful ways to bring about a change in our circumstances. During difficult times, we may find ourselves struggling with thoughts of fear, self-doubt, worry, anger and depression. Besides negatively impacting our health and vitality, these thoughts don’t move us in a direction that serves our purpose — in fact, they make matters worse.

One of the quickest and most powerful ways to create a change in our circumstances is to practice thinking thoughts of thankfulness. Thankfulness is one of the highest levels of consciousness, giving us the ability to see the myriad of possibilities, discover what we truly want, receive ideas on what to do next, and create and realize a vision for the future.

When you practice thankfulness, a physical and mental transformation occurs. Your brain begins perceiving even more to be thankful for. You find yourself focusing on your strengths. You’re smiling. Your spine straightens. The muscles in your face and neck relax and your breaths deepen. Your creative juices begin to flow and you get creative ideas on how to turn your situation around and move in a direction that inspires you.

Thankfulness takes practice, and just one of these practices brings dramatic improvement in our lives, our families, and our organizations.

1. List everything you are thankful for — in your life, career, family, relationships, your body and its functionality, your strengths and skills, your values and personality, your home. If you are a business, list everything you are thankful for with your customers, suppliers, investors, employees, the industry, and specific customers, suppliers, investors and employees. Be sure to find something to be thankful for with respect to what you may be most unhappy about. If we hold contempt for anything we wish to change, we actually block our ability to change it.

2. At the end of each day, work backward and think of everything you are thankful for from that day. Our spirits are lifted when we are appreciative of even the smallest things.

3. Take note of what you are thankful for throughout the day—before or after a conversation, a telephone call, a meeting or a new task, and be thankful for each experience.

4. When you catch yourself thinking a worry, self-doubt, anger or other self-defeating thought, take a deep breath, first exhaling deeply, and ask yourself “What can I be thankful for in this moment?”

5. See what happens!

Simona Stanzani : I think that manga and anime are a very important part of Japanese culture, and that, at their highest level, they have a pivotal role in modern communication art.

It is time to get rid of the ancient, outdated concept of “if you read manga you become stupid” or to consider them mere commercial entertainment; of course a big share of them is made to sell, but even the most commercial titles do have artistic and cultural value.

Japanese should be proud of anime and manga, because they are very strong and unique means of expression, and a symbol of excellence for Japanese culture in the world.

Jeg kommer rett og slett ikke overens med mandager. Våknet i dag, svimmel på tredje dagen og jeg har virkelig ingen anelse hvorfor. Legen min sier alltid bare at jeg må drikke mer vann, men drikker jeg mer vann enn jeg gjør daglig nå, så blir jeg rett og slett flytende. Som mange år før, så konkluderer jeg med at det er mørketiden sin skyld for så fort vi går mot lysere tider blir jeg bedre, men inntil da, får jeg klare meg med vann, klementiner og minner om sol og varme.

Grunnen til lite blogging er vel at helgen ikke har vært spesialt innholdsrik ettersom verken humøret eller formen tilsier at jeg skal gjøre noe som helst.

Lørdag morgen var jeg voldsomt trendy og spiste frokost med Fredrik på Bagel and Juice etter at jeg hadde drømt at jeg spiste bagel til frokost sammen med Fredrik. Det var en snodig drøm, tror ikke dere har godt av å høre den.

Lørdag kveld var Heidi på besøk og vi sløvet bare foran tv’en og så film, eller vi så deler av filmer ettersom alle var dårlige skuespillere på lørdag.

I går var jeg hos mamma på middag, med Rolf på slep. Pappa var hjemme han og, men likevel så sier jeg alltid at JEG var hos MAMMA. Sånn er det bare. Det er alltid så deilig med søndagsmiddag hos mamma, jeg kan for noen timer late som jeg er barn igjen. Jeg lider av akutt bli-voksen-skrekk!

Konklusjonen for denne helgen tror jeg må være at uansett hva jeg drikker på lørdag er jeg dårlig og svimmel på søndag. Egentlig mer dårlig når jeg drikker masse vann på lørdag enn når jeg drikker masse av ting kroppen egentlig ikke har godt av. Snart gir jeg opp å være snill med kroppen min når den ikke gidder å være snill tilbake!

So as Zelda and I are both currently not living in the US, we won’t be able to see New Moon until november 25th (Yeah, I know we already told you that yesterday…). We got tickets to the premiere but still we have to wait five days longer than the rest of you. Our life sucks! We’re so pissed I even considered flying to LA just to watch New Moon a few days earlier. But then I calculated that for the money I would have to invest in a flight ticket I could see the movie about 98 times on the big screen here. 54 times if I buy popcorn and a diet coke every time. 27 times if I always invite Zelda and buy popcorn and a diet coke to share with her. So I decided I can make it through five more days (four by the time this post gets published) by distracting myself with countless blog post. Honestly, I will be so productive! To shorten the time a bit I occupied myself by making a list of things Zelda and I will do in honor to New Moon before the movie finally premieres here. Another top ten list, of course! What else?

1. We will give each other nicely wrapped presents, try to open them, then throw them on the floor while dramatically screaming “Ouch, papercut!” I hope Jasper won’t be anywhere near us, otherwise this might end badly…

Jorts? Check. Tattoo? Check. Abs? Check!

2. We will buy some old motorcycles, find a sexy guy who teaches us riding those and then land ourselves in the emergency room. Honestly, we’re so sure to end up in the hospital…

3. We will cut off our old jeans to have the cool self-made jorts the wolfpack is wearing all the time.

4. We will go to a tattoo studio to get the original wolfpack-pride tattoo. Maybe we won’t be brave enough for that and just paint it on our arms with a black marker… unless we’re drunk as hell… Not impossible but improbable, so it will rather be the black marker version but whatever!

Oh please, let him be the one who saves us!

5. We will drive to a cliff near us. Well, there isn’t really a cliff near us but we’ll find one, promise! Then we will try cliff diving, totally unskilled but fearless nevertheless. Maybe we can hear Edward’s voice while falling down. Not very probable but worth a try. Because hey, it’s Edward’s voice we’re talking about here and there’s probably nothing I wouldn’t do for Edward…(*false…uhm, I think…*) At least someone (oh god, please let him be a sexy super-muscular Indian boy… shirtless!) is bound to think we’re trying to commit suicide and come to rescue us.

6. We will lend us a yellow Porsche and drive around like complete maniacs in honor to Alice.

7. We will travel to Italy to visit Volterra. I’ve already been there about 10 years ago with my family so it will be quite cool to go there again. Hope Heidi won’t catch us…

8. We will go to a church near us (something I haven’t done for years except for some friend’s wedding), take off our shirts (not our bras though, we’re not that slutty!) and walk out into the sunlight. Yeah, sunlight in november is pretty rare and it will probably be damn cold. But we’ll do it, in honor to New Moon. Yep, we’re so unbelievably dedicated! Then hopefully someone will run towards us and nearly knock us over… and so save us from us further embarrassment.

9. We will get airbrushed-on abs just like Rob has in the Volterra scene.

10. We will hold a vote on our mortality and whether we think Edward should bite us or not. (SPOILER: He should! Cause I feel like I so belong with him.)

Okay, you caught us… To be honest, we won’t do all of that stuff. Maybe five out of ten. We’ll take pictures for you though, promise!

I was looking up Edward Cullen on Wikipedia and I saw that it said that Edward was a Byronic hero. Because of that, I clicked on the link that explained what a Byronic hero was. Anyway, as I was reading the characteristics, it did sounds like Edward As I continued down the website, it mentioned that Lestat from the Vampire Chronicles and the Phantom from the Phantom of the Opera were Byronic heros as well, but I digress with the Phantom. That made me think about how much Lestat and Edward were alike in the sense that they are both Byronic heros. I think that’s the reason why I don’t like either character. I mean, it’s not that I hate them, but it’s just that they’re not my favorites characters from their respective series. Anyway, I think that’s the reason why I don’t like Lestat and Edward is the fact that they’re Byronic heros.

In my search for any Lestat vs. Edward stuff, I found quite a few pictures that made fun of Edward and the Twilight series or making fun of the fact the Twilight series “outshines” the Vampire Chronicles. The one that I found to be the most funny was the one where it showed Edward and Bella together in the first box, and the following three boxes showing Louis, Lestat, and Armand telling their opinions on the series. I found that Lestat’s and Armand’s reactions to be the most funny. Their reactions were classic Lestat and Armand. Anyway, the next one that I thought was funny was the one where Lestat as picking on Edward. I just found those funny. By the way, you can find the originals at this site.

Vor  wenigen Stunden flogen die Victoria’s Secret Engel wieder über den Catwalk. Legendär sind die Shows mittlerweile, in denen Männerphantasien und Frauen-Wäscheträume war werden. Begleitet von den perfekten Catwalk-Laufrhythmus Beats, der Black Eyed Peas schwebten Julia Stegner(diesmal ohne Flügel), Miranda , Marisa und HEIDI. Ja, ganz genau! Selbst unmittelbar vor der Show täuschte Sie die Journalisten über ihre Teilnahme und gab an, ganz entspannt aus den Zuschauerreihen das Fashionhighlight zu verfolgen. Und dann kam Sie bezaubernd, wie eh und je hereingeschwebt, auch ohne Flügel. Die Zuschauer jubelten und Heidi strahlte. Hatte das Topmodel auch nach eigener Aussage noch neun Kilo zu viel an Gewicht und trug etwas mehr Stoff, als die meisten anderen Models, so bezauberte sie doch die Reihen der Anwesenden. Eine Corsage und ein Tüllschleifenrock umschmeichelten ihre,für den Außenstehenden,  makellos wirkende FigurDie Show, die diesmal unter dem Motto “Science-Fiction” stand, war fulminant.Space-Glam wohin man schaute. Blau, Silber, Weiß, Glitter dominierten die einmaligen Kreationen. Nirgenwo sonst sind die Models so locker und entspannt, wie bei dieser Show. Sie tanzen, lachen, shakern und interagieren. Wir können sicher sein, auch nächstes Jahr wird uns Victoria’s Secret wieder inspirieren und wir freuen uns darauf.

I was bored recently and was on my computer I don’t know why but I typed Lestat vs. Edward into Google to see what I would get. Anyway, a lot of stuff that popped up were drawings of people making fun of Edward through Lestat’s point of view, and videos and articles asking who would win in a no-holds bar fight. I immediately thought that Lestat would definitely win. I say that because, after looking up their powers as a refresher, while Edward has super strength, super speed, and can read minds, Lestat can do or has all of that, plus so much more. Lestat also has pyrokinesis, the ability to fly, and he’s telekinetic. Plus, he killed an entire wolf pack by himself, albeit with the help of his two mastiff dogs. Anyway, I really think that Lestat would definitely win the fight against Edward, and that’s assuming Lestat doesn’t fall in love with Edward first, which I doubt would actually happen, and that Lestat doesn’t hurt Bella.
