I have gotten myself into photography again. I got pretty sidetracked with the new swing of moving out and the whole college business. I recently went home and got my helga lomo and Polaroid cameras, and decided to pick up photography again. I have been doing a lot of graphics and photo work as I recently got a job at Island Water Sports as a graphics designer and website manager.

În aceeaşi dimineaţă de luni, şi-a uitat picioarele într-un lighean cu apă fiartă, peste care, deasupra, a frecat în palmele-i subţiri şi lungi, şapte frunze de mentă. Aburii cu miros de sare de ocnă îi desfundau nasul roşu, dar îi umflau venele, de-i făceau cărări verzi-vineţii pe fruntea descoperită.

Câteva ore mai târziu sorbea o cafea fierbinte, pe balcon, dintr-o cană ciobită şi fără coadă. O cafea râjnită din boabe culese de pe o plantaţie braziliană şi trimisă la pachet chiar de soţul ei. Un afro-american, patron al unei cafenele în buricul unui São Paulo pestriţ.

Ne-am cunoscut acolo. Eu, după spusele lui, eram creionată în imaginea unei cochete brazilience, mirosind a dulceaţă de cocos. El, un celibatar suav, căuta în privirea mea amestecul de femeie candidă, cu obişnuinţe de copilă rebelă. Să fi fost pe-atunci ceasurile amiezii târzii.

E singura imagine păstrată şi bătută în cuie de gândurile-i înfumurate. Mereu se trezeşte înlăcrimată, şi, niciodată, zâmbind la tabloul care-i creşte în peretele camerei. Un tablou din care ies, imprimate într-o sticlă de murano, chipurile lor.

Da. Şi ieri la fel a sfârşit dimineaţa, întinsă pe-un pat, nu prea mare, cu picioarele ridicate, dezbrăcată, formând cu cealaltă jumătate a corpului un unghi de nouăzeci de grade. Sângele cald îi mirosea a cafea, îi mirosea a el, zvâcnea cu pulsaţii trepidante, încât zecile de perne marocane, aşezate în linii curbe, dansau ca pe ritmuri arăbeşti mixate într-o samba braziliană.

Aşa era ea. Helga se numea.

Un amalgam convertit, cu gânduri din ce în ce mai apăsate la el. Ar fi dorit să-l vadă pe-un scaun, pe terasa cafenelei, să-i deseneze gândurile şi să-l trimită, din nou, într-un alt colet, înapoi  în aşternuturile de culoarea zmeurei. Dorul pentru bărbatul care, un sfert de viaţă, i-a sărutat mâinile reci şi gâtul c-o piele albă, întinsă, de cum se trezea şi-a îmbrăcat-o-n arome sud-americane, o înnebunea treptat. Chiar şi tic-tac-ul ceasului mare, cu limbă aurită, o frământa, o usca şi-o sfârteca înfometat.

În aceeaşi dimineaţă de luni, nici soarele n-o mai îmbia precum ieri, n-o mai mângâia copilăreşte, n-o mai  îndulcea cât să-i şteargă gustul buzelor lui.

În aceeaşi dimineaţă de luni, s-a oprit şi ea. A semnat, în calendarul din holul apartamentului, o dată crucială. Ziua morţii ei, de dor, de dragoste, de miros catifelat, de piele, de carne pe care-o muşca până învineţea.

În aceeaşi dimineaţă de luni, a strâmtat cu o foarfecă din aluminiu, deloc ascuţiţă, o garderobă de sentimente bizare şi însângerate.

… pentru că, din aceeaşi dimineaţă de luni, niciun telefon n-a mai răsunat, ca altădată, într-un dormitor gol, care încetase a mai mirosi a parfumul lui. Şi el a murit. Helga l-a omorât, zdrobită fiind şi îngenuncheată de o aşteptare care i-a strivit până şi măduva spinării, îmbolnăvind-o.

Heisann, da var det på tide med et innlegg igjen. Egentlig så fortjener dere ikke at jeg skriver enda et innlegg som dere kan lese, for dere kommenterer jo aldri. Bitches!!

2 – 4. september var jeg i Dagali på klassetur og det var bare dritkult. Vi kom til Dagali tidlig på (onsdag)formiddagen og kjørte gokart  -  det var bare dritkult, og jeg skal innrømme at jeg var livredd til å begynne med, men så kastet jeg meg i det og fant ut at det er bare det adrenalinkicket.

Maja og meg før vi skulle sette i gang med gokart.

Etter at vi hadde kjørt gokart, så dro vi av sted for å spille litt paintball, og for å være ærlig, så var jeg livredd for å spille paintball også, men det viste seg å gå ganske bra sånn bortsett fra at jeg fikk en skikkelig hard kule/ball med maling på øret mitt, så det var en god blanding av gul maling og blod jeg måtte tørke bort.

Etter at jeg tørket bort det verste.

På torsdag, så var det rafting, og det må jeg si; Rafting toppet kransekaka. Det er det feteste jeg noen gang har vært med på. Har dere ikke prøvd det enda, så anbefaler jeg det virkelig.

Siste dagen som var fredag, så dro jeg hjem mye tidligere enn de andre for å rekke bussen til GranittRock (GranittRocks hjemmeside her).

Jeg dro på GranittRock sammen med Helga (som vi skulle bo hos), Ulrikke, Mats, Jørgen, Anders, Kjersti, Kjetil og Karl Martin – flott gjeng.

Úgy látszik, az idétlenül hangzó földrajzi nevek túrájának bejegyzését indítom most a blogon

Ugatásra ébredvén f7-kor  keltem fel, összepakoltam, főztem teát,  reggeliztem, aztán irány a vonat! Itt 7:40-kor indul az első járat vasárnap, nincs ám korai szerelvény! Glen Innesbe 7:52-re ér, úgyhogy 7:40-kor el is indultam. Még ez is korai volt, mert bringával tényleg hipp-hopp lejutok.

Eléggé hűvös egy reggel volt, nem bántam meg a melegítőnacit. A vonaton szerencsére ment a fűtés, ami most nagyon jólesett. Jófej kallerom a bringára nem kért külön jegyet. 1 perc késéssel érkeztünk meg Papakuraba, úgyhogy hivatalosan 8:35-nek állapítom meg a bringatúrám kezdetét.

Az útvonal részletei a szokásos gugli térkép formátumban itt tekinthetőek meg, úgyhogy csak a lényeges pontokat említem meg: a Great South Roadon indultam kifelé, és az első 1-2 km-t erős tempóban, lelkesen tettem meg. Utána úgy éreztem, lelassultam. Közben dzseki fel- és levétel is hátráltatott, meg a lelkesedés is fogyott, némileg fordítottan arányosan a szél erősségével.

5 km után már jött a holtpont, fontolgattam, hogy biztosan jó ötlet volt-e nekivágni ennek a 45 km-es távnak.

Aztán valahogy erőre kaptam, másképp nem is tudtam volna megtenni a Bombay-ig felívelő 4-5 km-nyi emelkedőt. Egy bringatolós szakaszon két tehén érdeklődve nézett rám a kerítésük mögül, biztos nem tudták mire vélni, mit keres itt ilyen agyatlan kétlábú lény, aki nem autóban ül, hanem valami furcsaságot tologatva sétálgat

A bombay-i Razorback road meg elég keményen emelkedett és lejtett és emelkedett és lejtett… míg aztán egy 7-8 km-es lejtőn való száguldással eljutottam P-ba. Onnantól már csak egy kis kanyargás, és feljutottam a 2-es autópályára.

Na, ez eléggé kettős szakasz volt, mert ugyan jó tempóban tudtam haladni, de nagy volt a forgalom, ami nem kellemes. Ráadásul kb. 15 km-t kellett megtennem így, és a végén már nagyon vártam a leágazást. De eljött az a pillanat is! Amint ráfordultam arra az útra, minden csendessé vált, elnéptelenedett. Összesen ha 3 autóval találkoztam a fennmaradó 5 km-en.

Amikor pedig megpillantottam az amúgy “érdekes” formatervezésű házat, hát én nagyon szépnek láttam

Helgáék nagy jókedvvel üdvözöltek minket, személyesen Lórit is, aki az idő nagyját azzal töltötte, hogy bambult kifelé az ablakon, várta hogy papagájokat vagy legalább pukekókat lásson, de szerintem néhány bocinál nem nagyon jutott több neki

Mivel f12 körül érkeztem, már nem sok idő volt az ebédig, készült is nagy lendülettel a rántott hal meg a rántott gomba (és ha csipetke tészta nem is volt, csipkelődés  akadt bőven vegaságom kifogyhatatlan élcelődés táptalaja tud lenni időnként de nem zavar,  sőt igazából áldásos hatása van mert egyrészt mások jól elvannak vele, másrészt pedig így biztosan megjegyzik, hogy vega vagyok )

Kaja közben néztük kicsit a Tomb Raider 2-t, ami azért volt jó, mert megállapítottam általa, hogy a hétfőn látott GI Joe relatíve jobb film, mint gondoltam

A délutánra egy tengerpartozást terveztek be Helgáék, amiért nagyon hálás voltam, mert Auckland felé mentünk (nagyon nem lett volna kedvem visszatekerni ugyanazon az útvonalon, pláne a 8 km-es emelkedőn), meg oltári szép helyeken jártunk (ami azért ebben az országban nem nehéz )

Indulás előtt még próbálkoztam néhány számítástechnikai feladat megoldásával, de összességében nem jutottam dűlőre a PHP-val, ahhoz nagyon kevés voltam. Vagyok.

2 körül lekaptuk a bringám első kerekét, bezsuppoltuk a kocsiba, aztán indulás! Kb. arra mentünk amerre én jöttem, csak ugye autópályán, ami kicsit rövidebb, de így is kellett kb. fél óra, amíg Papakuraig beértünk! Onnan fel északkeletre, gyönyörű vidékeken át vezetett utunk, majd kiértünk Maraetai csodás tengerpartjára!

Itt ki is szálltunk, sétáltunk egyet, láttunk labikat fürdeni, minket is jól körbeugráltak! Eldumáltunk, élveztük a látványt, a tenger illatát, az egyszerre hűs és melegen simogató levegőt.

Néhány km-rel arrébb beértünk a falucskába, ott is nézelődtünk egy sort.  Itt már fürdőző embereket is láttunk, Győzővel mi is bemerészkedtünk lábszárközépig az óceánba (nekem ez az első ilyen élményem), hát kb. olyan volt, mintha jégkockákon járnék, de mégsem fagyott le a lábam. 

Itt már Lóri is velünk tartott, én meg alkalmazkodtam a helyi körülményekhez a mezítlábassággal.

Az erősen illatozó, friss cukrászsütemények, fánkok ínycsiklandozásának nehezen tudtunk ellenállni (főként egyvalaki ) így hát inkább visszabattyogtunk a kocsihoz, majd irány vissza Auckland. Előtte Beachlandsen áthaladva Győző úgy döntött, hogy ott is megnézzük a partot. Mennyire jól döntött Ez nekem még jobban tetszett, noha nem lehetett lemenni egészen, hanem magas szikláról néztük a vizet, de ez télen amúgy sem zavaró

Itt már teljesen mezítlábasan tapodtam a földön, és a nadrágot illető viseletemmel összehangoltan teljesen hobbitos látványvilágot testesítettem meg (az asszony is sűrűn szokta ezt mondogatni), de tényleg! Csak az nem látszik innen, hogy szőrös-e a lábfejem

Innentől már csak a kocsiból nézgelődtünk, és Withford, Alfriston útvonalon értünk be a városba. Az Alfriston-Porchester kereszteződésnél váltak el útjaink. Összeraktuk gyorsan a bicót, megköszöntem ezt az oltári jó napot Helgának és Győzőnek, majd felpattantam a nyeregbe és irány észak! Mivel hamarosan szürkület következett, úgy határoztam, hogy vonatozás lesz a dologból, mert sötétben, lámpa nélkül nem tekerek 10 km-t.

így hát a Great South Roadon eltekertem a Sylvia parkig, vettem tavaszi tekercset, majd vonattal irány Glen Innes, onnan pedig már 5 perc csak a lakhely.

Nagyon élveztem ezt a napot, szeretek Helgáékkal lenni, mert eddig akárhányszor voltam velük, mindig vidámak voltak, méghozzá olyan módon, ami ragadós, és én is igazán jókedvre hangolódtam. A pénteken rámtelepedett elkeseredettség elmúlt, kigyógyultam belőle és ismét reményteli bizakodással állok a dolgokhoz!

I sommer var jeg også i Tyrkia (i byen Kemer), og jeg tror ikke jeg skal skrive like mye om Tyrkia som jeg gjorde om Portugal – det er rett og slett fordi jeg er lat. : )  Jeg kan vel fortelle dere at det var super fint, og Helgas familie er fantastiske og flotte mennesker. Bortsett fra det, så var et ekstremt varmt i Tyrkia. Det var ikke så mange flere grader enn i Portugal, men luftfuktigheten var høyere og det blåste mindre, så vi ble jo svette alle sammen.

proceeded to spend the next 5 hours working on a research paper

and i’ll be spending most of tonight on it as well

i’ll be very relieved when i turn this thing in on wednesday

‘cuz then it’s 3 glorious weeks of no class

Argile: I bet. that’s a lot of work. I watched the rest of entourage while I cleaned my apartment

First off, I realize that the notion behind this blog is quite cliché; it is no secret that US entrepeneurs have been spreading the fatty, greasy elements of our nation’s contemporary culture around the globe for years. Even the poorest, most microscopic tribe of nomads wandering the Sahara Desert is familiar with the concept of a McDonald’s Drive-Thru (although I imagine height adjustments must be made to the standard windows to accomodate load-bearing camels)… No, I wasn’t surprised at all to find McDonald’s and its sumo-wrestler rival Burger King here in Santiago (obviously, Micky D and BK’s efforts to fatten the global population are all driven by plans for a worldwide sumo match in the near future). But KFC and Pizza Hut? Who knew…

But anyway, the real impetus for this blog was a conversation I had last night with two Chileans about our favorite Nickelodeon shows from childhood. I was visiting a couple of friends in the suburbs of Santiago last night for “merienda” (an evening meal that consists of a beverage and sandwich supplies… literally, a “snack” that replaces dinner in this country),  and once the parents and siblings went to bed, we had the longest conversation I’ve had yet here–in English, so they could practice (I suppose I should refrain from mentioning how impressed these friends and their family members were with my level of  Spanish, the language of our merienda conversation…)–a conversation dealing primarily with Nickelodeon, the beloved television network of all American children growing up in the 90s, before Disney Channel began corrupting the minds of youth… My amigos had seen and loved all of my favorites: Doug, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Cat-Dog, Clarissa Explains It All, Rocko’s Modern Life… it was an incredible bond with a people of a different hemisphere. Halfway through the conversation, Pame’s mom, who hardly speaks a word of English, came down to clean up the kitchen and immediately realized what we were talking about– Chook-E, Caht-Dowg, Hhhail-gah–and began reminiscing with us en español. It was a very surreal experience, and it made me feel at the same time comforted that elements from home exist so far away and embarrassed that my fellow countrymen are stripping remote areas of their rich regional cultures in order to make money spreading what were once uniquely American ideas and experiences…

Needless to say, I had a lot to ponder during the half-hour night-bus ride to the Metro station, the 45-minute Metro-ride to the station nearest my hostel, and the 15-minute walk (I made a wrong turn at one point) back to the greasy, smelly hostel where I’m staying for the week.
