With every minute that passes has a special moment attached to it ,bitter or sweet .. one can always feel the nostalgia. To every journey, phase of life, moment comes a time to part and this is where people bid farewell a wish that in uncertain times where meetings would not be often but yes, wishes would always be there.How many farewell can one remember of and when this word is spoken it would always remind one of school , graduation , post graduation farewell or something like this.  What about those farewells, which one doesn’t want to give but cannot do anything about it.

Life never waits for anyone, it moves on!!people come, leave their marks in lives of each other and part, only a few will  stand the test of time….Sometimes when a person has farewell around the corner, he turns back the pages of years and lists down what exactly would he miss and what is it that he is bidding farewell to.I have never found anything great about a farewell apart from that it is just a get-together before you part.

What happens if a friend bids farewell before actual farewell , well its a part of life you just do some tweaks here and there and move ahead , the pain always remains there ,just that when you feel that void you cant do anything just wait for things to get fine.Life is strange, look around to find millions of faces having infinite expressions well some are just stoical and will always remain, for even if they change instances would force them to change back.Well i remember this beautiful composition from Barry Manilow  in Hellboy2

The song is such beautifully penned down, that while listening you are just addicted to listen over and over again so is billy withers-aint no sunshin.Sometimes one can just fall short of words to describe a farewell.

Last night’s Academy Awards celebration was interesting… to say the least.  From Angelina Jolie (pictured left) snubbing Ryan Seacrest on the Red Carpet yet again, to the numerous musical numbers featuring some awkward pairings (Beyonce and Hugh Jackman?), to previous winners introducing best actor and actress nominees, it seemed as though there was always something queued up to draw your attention. 

The results part of the awards last night were however, excruciatingly boring.  All of the above drama and pre-planned gimmicks were not enough to keep the actual results of the award show from being dull and predictable.  Slumdog Millionaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button came away with 11 of the 24 available awards, making the actual disclosure of winners… less than exciting to say the very least.

Some of the decisions and winners just seemed out-right wrong.  I couldn’t believe that WALL-E didn’t win either of the Best Sound Mixing or Best Sound Editing categories… the first two thirds of the movie included no spoken words and relied solely on sound and music.  Another huge shocker to me was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button winning the Best Makeup category over the likes of The Dark Knight and Hellboy2.  It’s not really surprising to see the Academy continue their trend of snubbing comic book movies, but how can anyone in their right mind neglect Hellboy2 in this category, when the movie is completely centered around special effects and makeup?

It was very good however, to see Heath Ledger (pictured right) win Best Supporting Actor for the role that realistically could have led to his accidental suicide.  I really don’t think that there was any actor (in any category) this past year who had a more impressive, more convincing performance than Ledger did in The Dark Knight.  It often seems like the Academy gets it wrong most of the time, so it was very refreshing (to say the least), when they awarded Ledger for his dramatic portrayal of “The Joker.”

Genel olarak ortalama bir film olarak görülen ilk film, çizgi roman üslubunu sonuna kadar kullanan absürtlükleriyle eğlendiren bir filmdi. İlk kez 2004 Mayıs’ında dillendirilen devam filmi düşüncesi da 2006 yılını işaret ediyordu.

2 yıl gecikmeli de olsa, bir üçlemeye dönüşmesi düşünülen serinin ikinci ayağı artık karşımızda. Filmi değerlendirmeden önce Yönetmen Guillermo Del Toro’nun açıklamasına dikkat etmekte fayda var. Bu tür kahramanlık filmlerinin ilk adımlarına mesafeli yaklaşan Del Toro, kahramanı tanıtmak için harcanan 70 dakikaya dem vurmadan edemiyor. İkinci filmde bu tarz zaman kaybı olmadığından daha serbest davranarak yaratıcığını sonuna kadar kullanmış gözüküyor.

Pan’ın Labirenti sonrası hayal gücü konusunda, yarattığı yaratıklar konusunda hayranlık uyandıran Guillermo Del Toro, daha filmin başında bu yeteneğini şova çevireceğini izlerini veriyor adeta.

Film henüz Hellboy’un bulunduğu tarihte çekilen resim ile açılıyor. İlk filme dair bir özete zaman ayırmayacağının da bir belirtisi bu aynı zamanda. Hemen ardından Hellboy’a babasının anlattığı efsaneyi kukla sahnesiyle mükemmelleştiriyor Del Toro. 2004’de Anders Rønnow Klarlund tarafından çekilen “Strings” (İpler) lezzetindeki sahneler eşliğinde filmin yol haritası da çizilmiş oluyor.

Filmde resmedilen Elf, Ogre ve Goblin karakterlerinin başarılı anlatımı da 2011’de Del Toro’nun yönetmenliğinde karşımıza gelecek Hobbit konusundaki şüpheleri bitirmekle kalmıyor, sağlam referanslarla beklentileri de yükseltmiş oluyor.

Mekanik ve yenilmesi mümkün olmayan Altın Ordu’nun yönetilmesini sağlayan taç, üç parçaya bölünüyor. Ordu da kimsenin bilmediği bir yere kapatılıyor. İnsanlardan rahatsız olan, bu rahatsızlığını da haklı sebeplere dayandıran Prens Nuada, insanlıkla girişeceği savaş için bu tacın peşine düşüyor. Bu yolda babası dahil ezmeyeceği kimse yok üstelik.

İlk filmde oluşturulan dokunun üzerine bu andan itibaren yerleşen yeni film, ilk filmden daha da fantastik bir yol çiziyor izleyicisine. Hellboy’un hallerine aşkına odaklanmak bir yana, ekibe katılan yeni karakter Dr. Klauss ile de komedi üslubunu korumayı başarıyor. Dr. Klauss’un ilk filmdeki Rasputin’i andırdığını da ayrıca belirtmek gerekiyor.

Prens Nuada ve ikizi Prenses Nuala ile inandırıcı bir efsane de yaratmış oluyor Del Toro. Kusursuz makyajlar ve başarılı atmosfer ile inandırıcılığı oya işler gibi işliyor tüm film boyunca. Zaten sırdan bir karakterin pek bulunmadığı bu fantastik dünya da gerçeğin ayak izlerini bulmak da pek olası değil.
Özellikle dikkat çeken Diş Perisi sahnesiyle ayakta alkışlanacak bir yaratıcılık mevcut. Temponun en çok yükseldiği ve keyif verdiği sahne de o zaten….
Animasyon üstadı Hayao Miyazaki’nin “Princess Mononokesi’nde gördüğümüz Bitki Tanrısı bu kez kanlı canlı mevcut. Prens Nuada’nın attığı bir tohumun dönüşümü sonrası Bitki Tanrısı ile Hellboy’un mücadelesi de ilk filmdeki gibi Cehennem Çocuğu’nun aklını bir hayli karıştırıyor. Belli ki filmin seriye dönüştüğünde sık sık tekrarlamaktan çekinmeyeceği bir durum bu. Hellboy’un ait dünyaya değil de, insanlara hizmet etmesi ve kendisi gibi olanları, düşman olması gereken insanlık için öldürmesi konusu Hellboy’un sık sık düştüğü ikilem olarak kalacak.

Bitki tanrısı ile Hellboy’un mücadelesine küçük bir tanığımızda mevcut. Kundaktaki bir bebekte Hellboy’ca korunuyor bu mücadelede. Bu sahne de akıllara John Woo’nun kült aksiyonu “Hard Boiled” akıllara geliyor.

Filmin en keyif veren sahnelerinden biri de, ilk filmde çok fazla tanımadığımız dışarıdan gördüğümüz ama bu kez daha iç içe olduğumuz karakter Abe’in de içine düştüğü aşk çıkmazı ile geliyor. Ortak kaderleri etrafında birleşen Abe ve Hellboy sevgililerini düşünerek birlikte “Sensiz Gülemiyorum” şarkısına eşlik ediyorlar.

Elbette öykünün finali eninde sonunda Altın Ordu’nun ortasında, Hellboy ve Prens Nuada arasında noktalanıyor. Ama Altın Ordu’nun bulunduğu yeri bulmak için yardım aldıkları karakter de bir hayli ilginç. Belden aşağısı olmayan karakter’in peşinde girilen geçitte hayli çekişmeli ve tatmin edici bir final yapıyor Cehennem Çocuğu.

İyi bir ilk filmden, ikincisinde ne beklenir sorusuna oldukça hoş yanıtlar veren Guillermo Del Toro, Pan’ın Labirenti sonrasında sinemaya yeni fantastik karakterler, yaratıklar eklemeye devam ederken, ilk filmin dokusunu aynen korumayı da ihmal etmiyor. Ana karakteri dolayısıyla aksiyon sahneleri bekleyen izleyiciyi pek memnun etmeyecek gibi ama ilk filmden memnun ayrılan izleyiciyi bol fantastik karakterli, bolca absürtlük ve tuhaflık arasında yine iyi bir film bekliyor… Darısı üçüncü filmin başına…

A principal estreia da semana passada e sequência de Hellboy, O Exército Dourado, assume a liderança da bilheteria da semana, desbancando O Procurado, que cai para a 2º posição. Outras estréias são Caçadores de Dragões e Linha de Passe, que entraram na 3º e 8º posição, respectivamente. Saem da lista Era Uma Vez…, Os Desafinados e Trovão Tropical.

Celebrities love to play with different hair styles! Lengths, colors, etc. Changing their look with a clip of the scissors or the “click” of an extension being snapped into place. Sure, a lot of it has to do with the roles they play and they tend to go be at the director’s – and stylist’s mercy for many of these parts.

This is the case with Selma Blair this weekend who stepped out in new, long, dark locks. Selma has been out and about a lot lately, promoting her new movie, Hellboy 2 and working on her new show Kath and Kim, in which she plays Molly Shannon’s daughter.

Is it just me or does it seem weird that Selma would play the daughter of Molly Shannon? Aren’t they like, practically the same age? The duo did crack a similar joke when promoting the show at the Summer TCAs recently.

It’ll be interesting to see Selma on the small screen with longer locks – and trying out her comedy acting chops.

Hey folks!  It is Friday here in the Big Mango just before Noon and I’m sitting here munching on some instant oatmeal and sipping my coffee.  It’s been really warm here in the capital this past week, or “stonking hot,” to borrow a phrase from a close friend.  Went to see Hellboy 2 last night at the local cinema up to road at Siam Paragon, and throughly enjoyed the film.  The film was directed by Guillermo del Toro who also directed Pan’s Labyrinth so the same style of fantasy creatures inhabit the shadow parts of our world.   I really enjoy his spin on fantasy as the classic fairy tales creatures we heard about growing up come to life with a menacing edge to them.  His artistic vision and touch is kind of dark, and after seeing 3 of his movies now I’m definitely a fan.  However, having said that, I’m a huge fantasy/sci-fiction from way back so i’m sure that has something to do with it as well.  I’m glad Hollywood has seemed to run out of original script ideas, cause I’m more than pleased with the amount of sci fi, fantasy and super hero movies that it keeps churning out.  Next up, I will be off to see the lastest Batman reincarnation with the late Heath Ledger starring as the Joker.

Anyways, enough of  my nerdy movie tastes right?  What i really wanted to sit here and talk to you about today is insomnia.  I’ve probably talked about it before, but I seem to get a case of severe insomnia with every single long holiday break that rolls around for me.  I go to bed later and later every night, until I’m stuck in a routine of going to bed around 4 AM and getting up at noon or 1 PM every single day.  It gradually happens over the course of about a week, until one night I look up and I’m sitting here surfing the net wide awake at 4 AM.  Then if i actively try to change the pattern I always fall into then I start to run into trouble.  I try setting the alarm for about 9 AM, but the sleep of the dead takes me when I finally do doze off to sleep in the wee hours of the morning and absolutely nothing can rouse me.  Also, If i try to go to bed earlier I just lay there staring into the darkness of my room, or counting the imperfections on the ceiling.  My mind races through a million random thoughts and sleep never comes no matter how much i toss and turn.  I’ve tried to lay there and clear my mind, but even the active thought of doing that keeps my mind occupied.  I’ve been like this since my early teens, and I guess I’ve no hope of being able to change it now.  However, I wonder if anyone else out there suffers from a similar problem?  Anyways, I just wanted to check in with you guys and share what I’ve been doing this week.  I should get a shower and attempt to have at least half a productive day here so I’ll get going.  I hope everyone has a great weekend ahead, and I’ll be back to post soon.  Much love to you from Bangkok and as always thanks so much for stopping by to read my rambles.

3 days ago I went to see Hellboy 2, I was soooo surprised to see steampunk EVERYWHERE in the movie! Starting from the Aural Oculars, Dr. Kraus’ diving suit, the elve’s outfits, the architecture & the thing that portrayed steampunk at its best (in my opinion) THE GOLDEN ARMY (the aesthetics and the super high tech using a natural element as lava)

Ok summer already started for a couple of weeks now and personnally I am feeling the ‘heat’ now! Because as usual when summer here so does all the box office  movies crashing in cinema near you!

The summer usually means movies for me! Latetly Hollywood likes to make superheroe movies, a lot of them too more than they done in the 90s. Can’t blame them movies genereate money and with the help of the computers really nice superhero movies can be produce

Here are some superheroes movies that I wanted to watch this summer!

Yes the first of all Hancock! Why because it Will Smith acting and never in my life see an superhero that manage to pissed not just his own fan but everyone around him from the beginning!! Plus when the authorities sent a human with a superpowers to a normal cell prison!! No vaults, no wall made of hard to pronounce metal alloy, no armed convoy and release by the D.A not even trying to break free!!  Kinda feels more toward reality type of superhero nothing like Superman!!

OoO yes the Incredible Hulk one the well known superhero in the world or universe [World War Hulk]. Already watched it the other day with my friends and I admit it was better than the old one! I thought this was the sequel but they redo the whole movie from the beginning and experiment the with the Hulk’s green skin color! The effect was huge!! I for one very jealous of the Hulk because he can smash eveything don’t have to any fine at ALL!! No body dares go to Hulk and ask him to pay the fine, you just get the expression by his face!!

After that face looking back at you! Start praying for your safety!!!

Next is the Dark Knight

Hope its better than the first because to my opinion last movie sucks but I have hope this time and better be good because its Heath Ledger last movie! Poor soul, he just want to be a bad boy once but God has taken his soul!! And more thankfull the movie actually finished filming or else have to wait 2 more years!! Personal note: BATMAN CAR CAN FLY OVER ROOFS!!

The last movie of superhero this summer (maybe) is Hellboy 2: The Golden Army! Now the last time Hellboy movie was in Malaysia its name transformed to Homo Sapiens which to this day I felt really ridiculous  because the name Hellboy the movie was banned to a week or 2 till the re branding of the name to Homo Sapiens!! The authorities have nothing good to do other than censoring a name of movie??? Wasting tax payers money!

Other than those movies I also planned to watch

Yeap the 70s old tv series, ooo wait its it 90s? Who cares, this movie got be good because Steve Carrell acting as Agent Maxwell!! I can’t stop laughing each time I watch the trailer!!! For everyone information the original Get Smart series also very funny!! Can’t explain how but still funny!!

Still a lot more to watch!!

New is Pixar new movie coming out this June!!! Wall-E!! Don’t know the detail but since its from the creator of Toy’s Story, Cars, A bug Life and Finding Nemo its got to be good!! Just wandering why all of Pixar’s movies always with talking cars, toys, bugs, and fish but no actual human animation???

Ok about this movie, I probably don’t much about it because sources said this an adaptation of a comic? The thing about this movie that caught my attention was the ability of a person to predict of moving bullets! That about all, other than that the action scenes really based about screwed physic laws!!

Now the last movie of the summer that I want to watch (maybe) is the Mummy

This might be similar to Indiana Jones Trilogy and I don’t watch this type of movies but unfortunately I have watch all of the previous The Mummy Movies so now dying to know more what going to happen in this new movie!!
