Despite 2007′s version being a complete dud, I figured for $100 dollars it would be a fun bust and if I was lucky I might even get a “hot box”.

You can imagine the shock I received when I was told 2008 Spectrum was $150 dollars. I politely said “no thanks” and took home a box of 2008 Topps Co-Signers instead. That night I rushed home and checked out eBay and found very basic, boring base cards and “hits” and some of the worst celebrity autographs ever seen.

Below is a few of the new Spectrum of Stars inserts that have hit eBay so far. Did you ever think you’d see the day that Cheech & Chong would have certified autographs in trading cards? As for the legendary funny man, Leslie Nielsen, this is his very first and a must-have for any fan of his work.

Other celebrities in 2009 Upper Deck Spectrum include Kim Kardashian (sex tape), Burt Reynolds, Ed O’Neil (Al Bundy), Henry Hill (inspiration for Goodfellas), Linda Hamilton (Terminator), and Shanna Moakler (Pacific Blue, anyone?).
