The last time I ever had any dream related to the online realm was from playing an MMORPG, Archmage: Reincarnation. It’s those kingdom/army building turn-based war games. I dreamt I was bombarded to death by an opposing clan in a war. Farking woke me up in the middle of the night.
Hmm… Taking a blind shot but any of you guys played that?

The day I dream of shagging an anime character will be the day I never wake up. I can finally put years of experience from hentai watching to practice.

Finished Mazinger yesterday…

I’m lost. Am I to be expecting a second season? Or is it “The End”?

I like how they use clips from the old series.
But there’s way too much recaps. And I hate how they jump back and forth between the timeline. It feels fresh at first, but after a while, it actually gets irritating cause I’ll keep going

The 100 Rocket Punch ending was bad ass! And I liked a specific group of characters, namely the Kurogane House, alot. They were the RoXXors!

But in the end, I didn’t enjoy this series as much as I though I would.
I blame Snark for it! He made me expect too much. :p

The last post I made, I railed against the Maria Holic manga for its storyline, and its treatment of one of its main characters, the (supposedly) young lesbian Kanako, as a hard line rail against not only the trappings of Yuri manga, but also lesbian characters in general, and there in the comments I was asked about what should get the attention of yuri fans.

Well, since you asked…

Hanjuku Joshi (“soft-boiled girls”, apparently) is a two volume Yuri manga that ran in Comic Yuri Hime, and has been scanlated in full by Wings of Yuri. It begins as your basic school girl love story, where cute and girly Yae arrives at an all-girls’ school, and finds herself falling in love with the athletic and cool Chitose, and finds herself falling in love with her, with sex and cuteness ensuing.

At first glance, especially in the first volume, it sticks to the tried and true formulas that have gone through the growing Yuri manga genre for quite a while: an all-girls school, a cute young girl, and a cool tomboyish girl, and a sweet romance. But the manga also makes inroads beyond just the thing about these two finding out about their feelings and sharing their love. The manga also deals, however so much obliquely, with these characters trying to deal with whether it’s okay for two girls to love each other. There’s a lot of awkwardness as the two try and sort out their feelings between each other, and the manga gets into how the characters feel about actually being in love with a girl, and how the two characters try and deal with each other’s feelings…

The manga also follows the relationship between Mari, a fashionable high school girl, and Ran, her teacher. Like Chitose and Yae is about two girls trying to find their feelings, Mari and Ran are hardly each other’s first loves, but they are falling in love with each other. Their story could be about two girls who find themselves in a relationship that becomes more fulfilling than they expected, and which slowly turns to love. Like Chitose and Yae, Mari and Ran try to accept that they’re falling in love with each other, and try and have to deal with it.

There’s also a whole lot a shagging going on for all the guys who picked this up expected hot lesbian sex. That’s to be expected of the Yuri genre, especially with it’s high male fanbase. Thankfully, it never really gets in the way, and doesn’t feel like fanservice as it is just a kind of climax for the pairings involved (in more ways than one, har har). Pass Maria holic on the shelf, and go seek out Hanjuku Joshi instead. You’ll be glad you did.

Ahh, the ecchi genre...

The worst part of this episode was at the very end, when Ako and Riko announced that there will be another OAD episode next June. I was so pumped in getting rid of this thing off of my “Currently Watching” list, but it looks like all of that anticipation turned out to be in vain. Now I’ll have to wait another half-year before I can get an opportunity to do so… And no, I am not watching the TV series that is to follow the OAD. Like I said in my previous post about Kiss x Sis, straying from its OAD format would be abandoning the only thing making this show watchable.

…Actually the worst part of this episode was the urine. Keita helps out Riko in her bodily functions after they had a little too much to drink. For those that have fetishes of this liquidly human waste must have been in urine heaven when watching this episode. I am actually sane and don’t understand this fetish. So I couldn’t get a lot out of the first half of the episode.

Sigh... I waited six months for this too...

The second half was much more tasteful and sexy. After Riko doses off due to her weakness to alcohol, Keita turns into a horny animal due to his drunkenness and gets it on with Ako. The best scene was when they French-kiss and Keita tells Ako to only suck on his tongue and then vice versa. I thoroughly enjoyed that particular scene, but that’s beside the point, as I will demonstrate…

Ecchi anime is like those flashy internet ads that say you have won a new I-Pod Nano!!!!!!!!! Or some other blatantly outrageous lie: they’re all a damn trap. Ecchi anime lures in unsuspecting randy male otaku in promising ecchi moments and the newest and hottest 2D character designs… and provides them exactly that. The problem is, hentai is superior in every way in terms of its satisfaction power, and real anime is superior in every way in terms of enjoyment of a real story. In the end, Ecchi anime ends up getting nothing accomplished other than to piss of its viewers. I’m not criticizing ecchi itself, for most shows nowadays slip in a little bit of ecchi here and there and that’s totally fine; legitimate anime like Haruhi, Shana and Gurren Lagann have a heavy amount of ecchi in them, but none of them actually uses their ecchi to define themselves as a genre. It is when a show has ecchi and nothing else that the show falls apart.

Kiss x Sis is good example of this kind of show, not that they are difficult to find or anything nowadays, as the anime industry is infested with them.
