Estou trabalhando essa semana em Pinheiros e combinei nesta terça de ir com a Batata almoçar no Hideki.
O Restaurante é bem tradicional e serve uma variedade bem grande de pratos. No almoço funciona o sistema de Bufê e na janta o sistema à La Carte.

Pepino:

Sentamos, pedimos nossas bebidas e já fomos ao ataque. Apesar da variedade me concentrei em alguns peixes. Peguei: sashimi de Atum, Anchova Negra, Buri e Marinado; niguirizushi de Salmão quente e outro do Marinado; gunkan de Uni e de Atum batido com Cebolinha e com Ovas (Tobiko) por cima. Estava tudo muito bom, com quantidades pequenas de arroz e maiores do peixe. O único problema é que o Nori fica muito tempo exposto e isso acaba deixando-o borrachudo.

Parti para meu segundo prato e peguei basicamente Uni, Atum e Atum batido com Cebolinha.
Já estava bem cheio, mas ainda tinha a parte quente: Guioza, Peixes grelhados, Shimeji, Berinjela à Milanesa, Tempurá de Legumes, Teriyaki de Frango, Tempurá de Camarão, entre outros (hoje não tinha Yaskissoba e Ostra à Milanesa). Fui para o terceiro prato e peguei só um pouco do Tempurá de Legumes e de Camarão. Detalhe: Peguei uns Tempurás meio verdes achando que eram de Quiabo só que eram de Vagem!
Vale a pena pegar o Missoshiro com vôngole (considero o melhor Missoshiro de todos os restaurantes!) para acompanhar.

Eu já estava explodindo de tanto comer! (acho que só de gunkan de Uni comi uns 13). Demos um tempo para a comida assentar e então a Batata foi pegar a sobremesa inclusa (Sorvete, Banana quente, Bolinho de Chuva).
Eu não ia comer mais nada, mas notei que estavam trocando o prato de sashimi de Atum, fui dar uma olhada e tinham colocado Torô! Não teve jeito, fui lá fazer esse esforço de pegar um prato com o Atum Gordo… e ainda bem que fui, estava muito saboroso e finalizou com perfeição meu almoço!

Eu e a Batata achamos o Bufê do Hideki o melhor e mais completo de todos, agora se for para ficar só nos peixes gostamos do Sushi Yassu e se a vontade for de comer pratos quentes preferimos o Sushi Isao.
O problema do Hideki (e desses outros 2 Bufês citados) é que ele está caro. Cerca de 3 anos atrás o preço do Bufê durante a semana era R$ 33,00 e eu costumava a ir direto, hoje o Bufê custa R$ 50,00 (aumento de 51,51%!) e aí fica difícil ir com muita freqüência com esse preço.

This is probably one of the best cards to come out of SPx baseball in a long time.  I think many collectors would agree that SPx baseball has fallen off the wagon a bit, but this is one of its better cards.  To this day, this card still sells for over $200.00.  Back in 2003 these were selling for a lot more, but thats understandable because Matsui was new to American baseball.  Being MVP of the ‘09 World Series can’t hurt the demand for these cards either.

The New York Yankees have done it again! For the 27th time in their history this amazing team has won the World Series of baseball.
What about the MVP of the series, Hideki Matsui. He practically won the game for the team. Who can ignore Alex Rodriguez, What a team! What a dynasty! Let’s go Yanks!

I had no idea this guy could hit like he did.  Hideki Matsui definitely deserves the MVP award.

Hideki Matsui won it for the Yankees as the DH with 6 RBIs through 5 innings. Maybe he knocked in more runs, but I wouldn’t know; I quit watching the game. He’s the roughest looking Japanese guy I’ve ever seen. His face looks like he’s been in a handful of knife fights and he came out with gills in his cheeks. Hope I didn’t jinx it.

DETROX is new band by ex-SIAM SHADE vocalist, HIDEKI. detrox’s second album, undergroundrer, have two version, english and japanese version. IMO, the japanese version is much better than the english version.

Finally the persocon “awakes” but, there is something wrong: seems the only thing the persocon is capable of saying is “chi!”, so Hideki decides to give her the name Chii.

Hideki asks for his neighbour and classmate, Shimbo, to help him, and this one concludes she’s a custom-made persocon. Therefore, Shimbo tells Hideki to visit Minoru, a 12-year-old genius who’s specialized in the field. But even his persocons, including Yuzuki – a quite exceptional custom persocon – aren’t able to analyze her, concluding she must be one of the so called urban myth: Chobits, a legendary series of persocoms rumoured to have free will and emotions.

So, little by little, Chii learns with Hideki, and thus begins the anxious school, inner and romantic life of Hideki and seems that there’s also another thing blooming…

Appreciation: Chobits is actually categorized as Seinen and not Shojo, as it is frequently mistaken due to its cute art design, so if you are not really into romantic comedys, will not be your piece of cake.

The episode’s action level (I mean the episodes’ theme) are almost always of the same stage, so don’t expect much of excitement.

The plot is amazingly well done, and it really touches you. I actually cried in the last episode (and lemme say I so do not usually cry on sad scenes). It deals a lot with life ideals and mottos and human feelings. The human – persocon relationship gives the possibility to illustrate the “loving a person for who they are”. The anime portrays this smoothly with the simple but deep thoughts, and with the ecchi moments, it amuses and matures but it also contrasts with the first one, which ends in highlighting it (the first one).

I’ve been wondering why not a stronger inner development of Chi, in particular, I guess they haven’t done it on the manga (I haven’t read it, but it’s most likely they haven’t). Probably you have been wondering why too. “It’s a shame” I thought, and I’ve been thinking about it, and I think I finally understand that it would be impossibly hard to conceive and a great mistake to do it. If they wanted to do it and make it viable, they would have to a) change her personality, but this one would spoil her persocon’s personality qualities, and also would affect the way how this anime portraits things (as I mentioned that issue on the paragraph above); b) if we decide not to change anything, the only chance would be an inner development with the time, that it’s the most likely what it does happen, but if you really think of it, I imagine exactly the same tender relationship.

So, we see that even if its deep, it’s the exact same tenderness of the beginning. Therefore, we can conclude the reason why the characters, essentially Chii, can’t be more developed and a stronger presence and act more intensity, because it’s not a quality of the  characters personalities’ and the anime itself.

Hideki Matsui may be the most awkward man to ever receive a pie in the face.

His solo home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth tonight gave the Yankees their fourth straight win coming out of the All-Star break, 2-1 over the Orioles.  That’s three straight 2-1 victories, indicating how fresh the starters are looking coming out of their week off.

For Matsui, it’s a big homer for a guy who has had an underrated season.  He’s hit 15 home runs in 82 games, and as always, he’s posting a decent on-base percentage.  He can no longer play the outfield, but he’s a crucial bat that the Yankees need if they want this year to be championship number 27.  He might look old enough to be Jackie Chan’s grandpa, but he can still swing the bat.  Good to know that he had a sense a humor about A.J. Burnett getting him with the pie in the face as well.

Great start for Pettitte tonight, he really needed an outing like the one he had (7 1/3 IP, 1 ER, 8 Ks).  Arguably his best outing of the season, it was huge for him to get his second half started the right way.

Ahhh Nagi, Kannagi is one of the series I most want on DVD, but it has yet to be released.

I read Neo’s big fansub article in the new issue, 61, and felt compelled to write something, cos I do download fansubs, yes its illegal, but I, unlike alot of people, buy the series when they’re out. And I only watch anime I know I like, I don’t go downloading everything under the sun, that would be a complete waste of time.

In the past year, less actually, I’ve bought more anime than I ever have before. Online, at conventions, in stores. I like to think I do my part for the anime market. And this is mainly thanks to being able to watch and test out anime using fansubs. Anime like Clannad, Ouran High Host Club, Onegai Twins, Kanon, all anime I bought because of the fansubs I watched. Some series I buy just cos I know I’ll like them, To Heart, Midori Days, I hadn’t seen them before, maybe one episode of Midori Days on a anime preview disc from Newtype or something. Other stuff I bought when I saw it cheap, like Bleach, and, god forbid Naruto…(just tried the first part of the first season, didn’t get through the first disc… Bleach was better, have the first season of that. There are also occasions when I rented anime from the library. Did that with Elfin Lied and few others. Tsukihime I got because I had the first volume in a big-multipack of anime and loved it, mostly volume 1’s in the set.

I do what I do with fansubs with american shows which have never made an impact on british tv, How I met your mother specifically. I bought seasons 1&2, downloading 3, the bought 3, and then downloaded 4 and am waiting for the dvd release this september. I rarely dl american tv without the intention of buying it at some point. (LOST!!! :WOOOP: There also Castle and Dollhouse, will be importing Castle when they’re released, since its questionable whether or not it’ll get a UK release… It so should…)

I will say this now, I very rarely buy single disc volumes. I did when I was younger, bought Haibane Renmei and .hack//Legend of the Twilight and a fair few others that way, would have saved so much money if I waited for the boxset. Also got Haruhi in the single discs, but there were super-enticing freebies to consider, so I just had to. I LOVE boxsets. LOVE them. Best thing ever. I know that its a much-much better deal than anime is in Japan. The pricesthey charge are… phenominal… And its just for 2 episodes, 3 if your lucky. I remember thinking that £20 for 3/4 episodes was such a ripoff, still do a bit, but alot of anime has decreased their price to around £15. Still… more than I’d like to pay for that many episodes. Freebies is a BIG incentive. I paid around £25 for each volume of Haruhi. Most I’ve ever paid for a 14 episode series, will probably remain that way, unless they release like, Sky Girls, Lovely Complex and Nogizaka Haruka at the same kinda price. (Those are 3 series I WANT so much, but will probably never getreleased in the US or the UK. So fansub is what I put up with.) I might add, I don’t care if a dub is included in the release or not. I only ever use the dub if I’ve got an anime on in the background, and usually I switch to the original Japanese cos the english is too hard to listen too… awful… compared to the original, with all the super cute voices.

I’d be more than happy if anime companies or distributers just streamed them online for a limited time so I can watch them and not fill a hard drive with anime. Or did something like 4oD, and make them available to download and watch for a 24 hour period and then they expire. I just wanna keep up with the releases in Japan, and not be limited to the very limited release in the west. I just hope and wait with baited breath that the series I’ve come to love via fansubs  are released in the west, in the UK would be preferred, but I’ve had a multiregion DVD player since 2003, so a US release is fine.

If more fansub watchers were inclined to buy the dvds when they get released, fansubs might not be as widely frowned upon… but cos they dont… they are… Its the squealy pocky-prostitutes of the world that are the main problem I say!! lol. Actually Neo said that, “the fans who squeal over actors and prostitute themselves for pocky don’t actually spend money on dvds”. Which I’m fairly sure is true… since they’re spending all their money on pocky when they’re not getting it for free. Don’t get me wrong, I will squeal for certain actors(Tennant, Pine, Cusack etc) and certain JAPANESE voice actors(Sugita, Noto, Nonoka etc) well, theres a few dub voice actors, like Crispin Freeman, voice of Hideki Motosuwa AND Kyon. And he was in Howls Moving Castle as the prince at the end. Soft spot for him, and a few others, but otherwise… bleh. I would never however, prostiture myself for pocky.

Esta vez será sobre una serie anime titulada “Chobits”.

Chobits es uno de mis animes preferidos hasta ahora, y creo que es una buena recomendación para aquellos que os guste el anime…

Las autoras (sí ! autoras) de Chobits es el Estudio CLAMP, que está compuesto por 4 dibujantes y a las que se las ha denominado las reinas del “Shōjo” y que tienen detrás una gran variedad de mangas y animes muy conocidos como por ejemplo, Sakura Card Captor, Angelic Layer, X, Clover, Tokyo Babylon… entre otros.

La Historia de Chobits

Chobits nos cuenta la historia de Hideki Motoshuwa, que es joven granjero, y que quiere estudiar para entrar en la Universidad (nada menos que en la Tokyo) y que como es lógico suspende en el examen de ingreso (esto quizás os suene a Love Hina, quien la haya visto ^^) por ello, viaja a Tokyo, alquila un apartamento y empieza a estudiar duramente en una academia…

Cuando llega a Tokyo se encuentra con una tienda de “Persocoms”, y direis, ¿qué es un Persocom? pues no os lo voy a decir para que asi tengais que ver la serie .

Un día, Hideki vuelve del supermercado, y por casualidad se encuentra un Persocom tirada en la basura, al quedar prendado de su belleza se la lleva a casa e intenta conectarla. Nada más encenderla, Hideki se da cuenta que ese persocom solo sabe decir “Chii” y tiene la fantástica idea de ponerle ese nombre. Y aquí empezaría la historia.

Opinión personal

Chobites es una exquisita serie y que no se debe de perder la oportunidad de ver, contando solo con 26 capítulos (más el 27 que es especial) y una OVA, es más que recomendable verla, hay capitulos de relleno como en cualquier serie pero no se vuelven pesados ya que la propia serie tiene partes divertidas y otras en forma Ecchi.

We covered how bad John Sterling was as an announcer is a previous post last week, but here is a classic example of how bad he really is.  He has these terrible home run calls whenever a Yankee hits a homer, and for Alex Rodriguez, it is “an a-bomb….from A-Rod!”  However, an a-bomb from Japanese player Hideki Matsui could be construed as an entirely different thing.

KEY POINTS OF HILARITY:

For the few of you left reading, I managed to find a new, but completed, comic to read.  Well…. Technically, it’s not really a comic.  I read my first manga (series, I know, what the hell was I thinking, right?) called Chobits.  The main dealings in the story, all eight books of it, is the interactions of humans and walking, talking computers called Persocoms.  These “Persocoms” come in many shapes and sizes, ranging from really, really small ones that replace cell phones and laptop computers,  to full-size humanesque machines, that walk, talk, have the ability to learn, and are generally designed to make life easier and make people happy.  These persocoms are so realistic, though, and so “perfect,” that people can, and sometimes do, develop real feelings for them, even going as far as marriage and . . .  Let’s just call in full consummation.  This story, though, centers around a particular character, Hideki, a kid trying to get into college, but not doing so well in making it.  He did poorly in high school, and is in a special “cram school,” designed for ultra-high-speed education up to much higher standards.  His parents cut him from his allowance as motivation, and he only seems to be able to get a crappy job.  His immediate wish, though, seems to be to have a persocom, a companion for him who can cook his food, clean his house, download his homework, browse the internet with him, and take care of his physical needs.  (Sounds like someone’s looking for a wife without the commitment…  I know, bad wulf…)  On a particularly crappy day, he’s walking past a pile of garbage, and spots what looks like a human corpse thrown in the trash.  Upon closer investigation, it turns out to be a particularly attractive persocom!  He takes it home, finds its power switch in a special place to turn her on, and boots her up.  She seems very defective, only able to say one thing, Chi, which he eventually names her, and regularly mimics his motions.  He attempts to look up her internal software, which comes back blank.  From there, he enlists the help of a friend to try to figure her out more, and the story begins.  Well, actually, I think that’s about half the first book, but the books are most definitely designed to be read in series. 

The story itself, throughout the series, deals with the connections humans make with their persocoms, and, in particular, Chi and Hideki.  They eventually learn how persocoms have helped or hurt relationships with humans, and whether or not these machines can ever truly be used to replace a person who has died.  Interestingly, a lot of the story deals with the idea of love and machines.  Can a machine love a human, and, more importantly, can a human ever truly love a machine?

It begs a serious question.  What really is love?  Love is not a physically discernable thing.  You can’t touch it, other than the sensation you feel when you are with the person you love.  You can’t hear it, except in the changes in voices by people who are feeling it.  You can’t see it except for what people do when they feel it.  So, then, what is it? 

If you think along a biological lines, it’s basically a very intense attraction, caused by various hormones.  From a psychological standpoint, it’s a form of child defense mechanism, designed to help humans as a species grow, by giving us a sense of protection over something we consider our own.  It’s also a form of madness, because being in love tends to make most people do things they usually would not.  But who cares about scientific thought, what the hell is it?!  What causes it?  What makes it work differently for different people?

Love happens differently for everyone, we all know that.  For some, it’s simply a connection that grows from learning who a person is.  For others, it’s the instantaneous feeling that you get when you see that one person, the “person of their dreams,” and can either grow from knowing the person, or wane from a lack of connection.  Still others, it’s that one thing that a person does that makes them so irresistible to another that it becomes a form of connection.  There’s really no way of explaining it, other than knowing that, when the object of that love is gone, you feel alone, and want that person around again, and when they are there, you day seems so much brighter, no matter what’s really going on. 

I’m certain people might think, “Well, my dog loves me, and I love my dog, isn’t that the same thing?”  Strangely, that answer is yes for the human, but not for the animal.  To the animal, you are family, a member of its den, pack, pride, herd, whatever.  It depends on you for food, water, shelter, basically everything.  The animal will thank you with its companionship and willingness to defend you as a member of its family, but it’s not the same kind of love that is exhibited between people.  I say this not because I don’t think animals have that kind of emotion, to the contrary, I do feel that animals love just as strongly as humans do, but, their love comes in a form strictly designed for survival.  It’s not the love of togetherness, closeness, the kind that humans develop over a time of knowing them, getting to know them, being close, learning from, and being learned from.   The kind of love humans have, while being more animalistic in nature, is based on a desire of humans not to be entirely alone, to have someone close to them.  With animals, it’s more designed for survival.  You will love you animal, you will take care of them, you will be happy for its presence, but it will never truly love you in the same way.  Actually, re-reading that, I kinda proved my idea of loving something not human, although it will be a form of unrequited love, since the animal will be by your side, but will never be able to love you back in the same way.

So, then, with these persocoms, could a person ever truly be in love with them?  In many ways, yes.  This persocom will generally act human.  They will look mostly human, save for a few things that may give a machine-like point to it.  They will feel human, they’re designed to be the perfect interactive machines.  Imagine the person you truly love, who you consider to be your companion.  The one you’ve spent weeks, months, years with, the person who’s become your friend, who’s made you the happiest and, sometimes, the most sad.  Now, imagine that the only thing different with this person is that they have an on/off switch, and programming.  Is it possible that, even with that difference, you could still be entirely, 100% in love with them?  I truly think so.  It does make me wonder, is it really so smart to be making humanoid robots?  Imagine what would happen if they are capable of walking, talking, thinking, and acting among us, without really being easily detected unless you’re specifically looking for the differences?  Imagine that they developed their own personalities, while still maintaining the desire to help and serve their owners.  Always helpful, always willing to do what makes you, their owner, smile?  And they could help.  They would take part in the chores, the happy moments, the trials, everything!  It would almost be like living with another person, but with one major difference:  They can’t love you back.  They will emulate certain aspects of it, they will be willing to try to make things better.  They might even be able to hold you close, allowing you to feel the warmth they were designed to have, but it’s all based on design, programming.  They would never be able to fully learn, to adapt, to love you.  It may feel like it, it may be close, but it won’t ever truly be love for them.  For them, it’s simply another sub-routine.  And, if a program could be designed to make full love-emulation possible, it would simply still be another program…  Another feature… 

BUT…  Does that make the love you might bear it not real? 

In all honesty…

No. 

But, could you handle it?  Could you truly be able to handle knowing that the object of your affections, the one you love can never truly, and honestly, love you back?

And, to enter another idea…  What if these machines were built to be in place of a lost loved one, or to give you loved ones, or children, that you couldn’t have for yourself?  What if they were designed to be children, ones you had to teach, raise, show the ways of the world, as you would a living, breathing child?  Or, what if you lost a sister, spouse, child, and could have one of these machines made who looked, walked, talked, acted as they did.  Is it wrong?  Is it spoiling their memory with a mechanical doppelganger?  What if it helped ease your pain, making your life seem more bearable? 

And what do you do when they break down?  Do you destroy them, recycling them for parts?  Do you re-build them, even at the risk of losing the data, the personality that they developed over the months or years of having them?  Could you handle losing the person they were, and only have the original shell?

L’unico accenno interessante che spicca è il suo commento sulla personale speranza che il gioco sia “sadisticamente difficile”, commento fatto per sconsigliare l’acquisto del gioco a potenziali acquirenti che vedono in Bayonetta una rincuorante favola…

L è il detective più famoso del mondo e nella prima parte della serie si occupa del caso Kira e di conseguenza è il primo antagonista di Light.

Del suo passato si sa poco, soltanto che è cresciuto nell’orfanotrofio per i bambini intellettualmente dotati “Wammy’s House” fondato da Watari, il quale gli è sempre stato vicino allevandolo e assistendolo nei casi di cui si occupa.

Ha vissuto in inghilterra per 5 anni durante i quali ha vinto la England Junior Cup del campionato di tennis.

Il suo aspetto trasandato ed eccentrico maschera le sue abilità intellettive ed analitiche, analizza sempre fino in fondo le situazioni che gli si presentano ed è estemamente meticoloso in tutto ciò che fa, non lasciando mai nulla al caso.
Ha diverse abitudini particolari come quella di non portare i calzini, mangiare solo dolci rimanendo comunque sottopeso (ritiene che il suo cervello usi la maggior parte degli zuccheri che ingerisce), accovacciarsi invece di sedersi (dice che sedendosi normalmente perde il 40% della sua capacità di ragionamento), dormire molto poco (e ciò causa delle profonde occhiaie).
Nonostante la sua riflessività è anche capace di agire velocemente quando la situazione lo richiede.
E’ un tipo solitario, sospettoso e non si fida di nessuno (a parte Watari).
Crede molto nelle sue capacità e ritiene che il tratto più infantile del suo carattere sia di non saper perdere nemmeno quando si tratta di sfide poco importanti.Cerca la verità con ogni mezzo,è animato da un profondo senso di giustizia e non disdegna l’uso di rimedi estremi per perseguirla.
Svolge il suo lavoro usando diversi pseudonimi al fine di proteggere la sua identità:

Siccome Kira ha bisogno di nome, cognome e volto per uccidere, lui usa il nome di un cantante/attore famoso cosicchè se Light dovesse scrivere questo nome ucciderebbe l’attore perchè, come Light stesso ammette, per sbaglio potrebbe collegarlo mentalmente all’artista piuttosto che a lui e se dovesse morire si avrebbe prova certa che lui è Kira

_ Ryuzaki – nel quartier generale del caso Kira

Nome che devono utilizzare i membri della squadra investigativa su Kira durante le indagini

_ Eraldo Coil/Deneuve – in tutti gli altri casi

Sono gli pseudonimi rispettivamente del primo e del secondo detective più famoso del mondo (il primo ovviamente è L).Il fatto che lui impersoni tutti e 3 viene rivelato solo ai membri della squadra investigativa ed ad altri stretti collaboratori di L.

Il suo vero nome lo si può apprendere soltanto dal tredicesimo volume del manga Death Note: How To Read 13 che contiene moltissimi approfondimenti sui personaggi.

Con un pò di incredulità si scopre che il suo vero nome è proprio L, L Lawliet.
Un’altra misura di protezione che utilizza è quella di avvalersi dell’appoggio di Watari (ovviamente vestito in modo da non essere identificato) come mediatore quando gli viene affidato un caso, mostrandosi attraverso allo schermo di un computer con solo la lettera L (di colore nero su sfondo bianco) e sintetizzando la sua voce.
Il suo aspetto è conosciuto solo da un ristretto numero di collaboratori, di cui si serve per risolvere i casi che sceglie visto che lui non si mostra mai e di conseguenza non scende mai direttamente in campo.
Quando il metodo investigativo che ha utilizzato fino a quel momento (ovvero le telecamere di sorveglianza ed i media) lo precludono dall’avanzare nella raccolta di prove, si trova costretto a presentarsi personalmente prima ad alcuni membri della polizia giapponese, poi al suo maggior sospettato Light Yagami.Giustifica i suoi sospetti dicendo che tra tutte le persone su cui ha investigato, lui è l’unico ad essere risultato “troppo perfetto”.
Per questo motivo si iscrive all’università che frequenta presentandosi come Ryuga Hideki e sfida Light direttamente dicendogli “Io sono L”.In questo modo se lui dovesse morire nonostante lo pseudonimo i sospetti su di lui aumenterebbero notevolmente.
Dice di sospettare di lui solo al 5% ma le sue azioni dimostrano che la percentuale è di molto superiore a quella espressa a parole (probabilmente per non agitare la sua squadra visto che Light è il figlio di uno dei componenti), anzi a quel punto l’unica cosa che secondo lui manca sono le prove concrete.La certezza non gli basta (e non bastano nemmeno al mondo che lo circonda) e nonostante trascorra svariate sezioni narrative essendo certo della colpevolezza di Light, si rifiuta di fermarlo finchè non trova prove a sostegno della sua tesi.
Successivamente a questo incontro invita Light ad unirsi alla squadra investigativa così da poterlo sorvegliare più a lungo e più da vicino.E infatti la loro sfida è in continua evoluzione, ognuno cerca di prevedere le mosse dell’altro, e rimanere sempre un passo avanti.Si accorgono di essere molto simili sia nel modo di ragionare che in quello di agire anche se attuano i loro principi in maniera diversa.Light spesso si fa offuscare dall’orgoglio e dalle emozioni mentre L svolge il suo lavoro con lucidità e fa sempre tutto ciò che è necessario fare.E’ sempre molto diretto e non gli piacciono i giri di parole a meno che non abbia un buon motivo (mettere alla prova le persone, verificare delle teorie, confermare sospetti,ecc) mentre Light si nasconde spesso dietro a maschere per manipolare le persone e far credere loro ciò che vuole (gli unici momenti in cui esprime i suoi veri pensieri sono quando è da solo o con lo Shinigami Ryuk,quando perde la memoria e nell’ultimo episodio della serie).Nonostante la loro vicinanza e diverse prove dell’innocenza del suo sospettato (alcune contraffatte da Light) L non cambia mai la sua posizione e continua a seguire la pista che ha identificato come la più giusta.Anche quando Light perde la memoria e riacquista la sua purezza (non essendo più corrotto dal potere del Death Note) trova sospetto il repentino cambiamento di personalità e invece di ricredersi si convince ancora di più.
Qualsiasi cosa accada i suoi sospetti non calano mai perchè non trova mai una prova concreta che scagioni completamente Light (l’unica che c’era era stata contraffatta da Light facendo scrivere allo Shinigami Ryuk una regola falsa sul Death Note, a cui L non ha mai creduto)
L è sempre stato il nemico più temibile per Light perchè riusciva sempre a prevedere le sue mosse ed è l’unica persona che non è mai riuscito a manipolare.Non è riuscito ad ucciderlo direttamente scrivendolo sul Death Note ma convincendo la Shinigami Rem a farlo per lui.E mentre moriva Light reggendo il suo corpo negli ultimi istanti di vita, fa cadere per qualche istante la sua maschera mostrando il sogghigno di Kira che gioiva per la vittoria.
Alla fine si può dire che L, nonostante sia morto, abbia raggiunto ciò che più desiderava, la Verità, scoprendo la vera identità di Kira e confermando i suoi sospetti.
Light invece morendo nell’ultimo episodio della serie, ha perso le cose per lui più importanti, vale a dire la sua vita (non ha mai fatto lo scambio degli occhi con Ryuk proprio per vivere il più a lungo possibile nel suo mondo ideale) e il dominio incontrastato sul mondo.
Nell’anime il colore con cui viene caratterizzato L è blu il e secondo la cromatologia e la teoria dei colori di Isaac Newton simboleggia profondità, stabilità, fiducia, comprensione, lealtà, saggezza, intelligenza, coscienza, intelletto, verità, calma e senso di appartenenza.
Il blu scuro in particolare è associato a saggezza, conoscenza, integrità e serietà.
Light invece viene caratterizzato dal rosso che simboleggia energia, forza vitale, impulso, volontà di vincere, potere, pericolo, desiderio.
Il rosso scuro in particolare è associato a vigore, forza di volontà, rabbia, coraggio, malizia, ira, superbia.

Preço importa, é óbvio.

Mas é preciso evitar julgamentos apressados. O Jun é caro e vale? Vale. O D.O.M. é caríssimo e vale? Vale.

A cantina da minha rua cobra 20 reais por uma massa molenga e encharcada de molho acidíssimo. Vale? Não.

E, em tempos bicudos como os atuais, o preço pesa bastante.

No domingo à noite fomos ao Hideki.

Pedimos ostras de entrada. Elas estavam carnudas, frescas, saborosas.

Em seguida, comemos sashimis interessantes – especialmente o robalo, o polvo e o toro. Frescos e saborosos, muito bem fatiados.

As vieiras recém descongeladas, porém, estavam inexpressivas.

E sushis bem preparados. De novo, o toro foi o destaque, junto com as ovas de peixe-voador.

O atendimento foi simpático e o lugar… Bem, o lugar é razoável, sem maiores delongas. A televisão, com a graça do Altíssimo, estava desligada e a baixa freqüência impedia que os ruídos atrapalhassem.

Tudo ok? Tudo ok.

Mas a conta bateu nos 350 reais (duas pessoas, sem bebida alcoólica). Vale tudo isso? Não, não vale.

Sem querer comparar (mas comparando), isso é o que pago no Aizomê, meu vizinho, que usa ingredientes tão bons ou mais e oferece mais conceito, mais elaboração e ambiente mais agradável.

Por que uma refeição sem qualquer destaque sai tão cara? Não devia.

5:12am, December 14, 2008–somewhere into Mile 2 of my third official Honolulu Marathon (I’ve crashed one before without a bib number) in heavy downpour, I realized this fact:  the culmination of my smarter, faster, more dedicated training this entire year will be logged on the time chip that’s on my shoe right now, but it will only have the start time–damn. Two days prior to the marathon, I went back for a doctor’s visit, and my surgeon said that I can now live as if I have never had surgery. When I asked if I am allowed to run the marathon, she looked at me with curious eyes before saying “sure.” The curiosity, I interpreted, was “you’ve been training?”–a rhetorical question…

I started on a training plan early in the year, upped my weekly mileage, added in more speed workouts, for which I have to really psyche myself up the night before, I even started a two-women running club, which, to this day, remains a two-women running club–all for a PR.  Little did I know how much life had prepared to intervene this year.

Friends were surprised that I decided to run the marathon after the surgery, even parts of it; I didn’t think it was an option not to run it, it was only a matter of how much.  Waking up at 3:30am the morning of Marathon Day, I still haven’t decided how much I could run.  I have, after all, run but a total of 4 miles in the last six weeks, I didn’t know the mileage my legs could handle.

I was excited and ready to go. I put on my new, expensive Titanium socks that I bought from the marathon expo.  The titanium powder in the socks is said to regulate the body’s natural electric current through cell ionization, enhancing blow flow and muscle relaxation.  I’m not sure what that means, but no pain surly sounds enticing.4 a.m. Ivy and I met up with my friend Liz and her running buddy, Rosie.  Our goal time is sub-4:30, so we inched our way up to the projected 3-4 hrs start area.

The rain, which has been mercilessly generous in the days prior was holding back at this time. Minutes before the 5 a.m. start gun shot (fired by President-Elect Obama’s sister), the fireworks lit the still pitch black sky.

As soon as we passed the start line, the rain first cheered us on with a slight sprinkle, crescendoing into a grand congratulatory downpour.  I am normally loathe running in the rain, but this day the thick drops felt extra refreshing on the skin. Ivy said her socks were completely soaked by mile 4, it took my titanium socks another two miles before they were saturated with water. I give them a thumbs up!

Just like previous years, the Honolulu Marathon has a high percentage of runners flow in from Japan just for the event. There were clearly a huge decrease in foreign runners this year, but the ones who ran still showcased entertaining costumes. Somewhere along mile six, Ivy and I spotted this sumo-runner, it was raining hard, but I had to get a picture.

Running in proximity of such sour eye candy propelled us to run a little faster.  Into the next mile, we came up behind a blue and white superhero.We were not sure if it’s who we thought it was, so we ran ahead of him/her to verify.It was nonetheless my childhood hero, Doraemon! I ran close to him and yelled with my very limited Japanese, “ganbatte, Doraemon!” He responded in typical spirited Japanese fashion, “HAI!” and I continued my quest to find more iconic runners. Other notable runners included Yoda, Darth Vader, and King Kamehameha, all of whom I had outrun.

Before I knew it, I have already run past mile 7 and 9, two of my three mile marker options to stop and call my friend for pick up. Just then, I looked at my phone to see the time and saw that I had received a text message from my cheerleader of the day, Hideki, a fellow runner friend. I had told him of my goals of running at least 7, 9, or 11 miles, but seeing his text, and I was already at mile 9, I was inspired to go all the way to 13.1 so my feet can touch down on the next time chip mat. Having declared new goal, I tucked my camera away and really started the race.

My favorite part of the marathon course is a downhill stretch between mile 9 and 10. In previous years of running the race, when I got to to top of the hill, I would see a sea of runners below me with the sun starting its climb over them–part of the thrill of a big race. The glorious view was not to be on this cloudy day.

Running past mile 11, the lack of training for the last six weeks evidenced itself in my legs.  I started to feel tightness in my hamstrings. My little toe started to blister, my knees started crackling. I wanted to walk, but Ivy still had her sub 4:30 goal to meet, so I kept running. The last mile was difficult as my body started to slow down. When the body starts to give in, the only thing to do is keep thinking inspiring thoughts, and for me, thoughts that can inspire during a run are either elated or angry ones. “The stupid lump,” I thought,”had caused me so much stressed, anxiety, pain, and it had kept me from running for so long, I’ll be damned if I don’t show it who has won the battle.”

Mile 13.1.  I hugged Ivy goodbye, and sent her onto her PR. We took a minute to take a momentous photo.

An on-duty Mr. Policeman took another photo for me. It is very important to note that the time shown is not my time because it has been minutes since I had stepped on the mat.

Mr. Policeman suggested that I get a ride from the Marathon Medical van to get back to where I need to go if I am to stop now.  I happily obliged, especially knowing that I don’t have to feign dying to be eligible for pick up. But when I got in the van and asked to be dropped off at the nearby mall where I was to be picked up, I got a less than runner-friendly response of “this is not taxi-service, we’re not supposed to leave our zone” from one of the red-capped Marathon personnel.

They eventually took me to my destination with a smile. I ran to meet my gracious friend Tabitha, who graciously agreed to wake up early to pick me up from my unfinished marathon. Even though I desperately wished I could keep going, I was wildly happy about my accomplishment.

The running high lingered all day. Tabitha noticed that I was still smiling when we met for dinner. The day ended with a huge meal high in protein, carbs, and fat. It’s great to be a runner, you really can eat all you can.

My official time for the half split was much better than I had expected considering how under-trained I was.

It is all just numbers, but on the rare occasion, certain numbers bear the significance that no words can adequately represent.

Who will fill the needed bat in the lineup when Tex lands in Washington or back in LA and Manny stays put (Manny won’t sign until Christmas/New Years. Boras will drag them both out as long as possible.)

What I’m saying is that  lot of you are proposing putting out $20-25M per year (for 6-8 years, depending on the player) for either of those players when the Yanks just sunk a $23M per year deal on Sabathia with another $15-16 being earmarked for Burnett or Sheets and most likely something in the area of $12-14M for Pettite.

$80M off the books, $53M back on in pitching alone (estimated). And it has been said that Cashman didn’t want to dump the bank this year (hey, you never know what comes out next year when Damon/Matsui come off the books!). So you pick up Bobby at $16M (he’s worth it, check the stats. check the consistency. he’s the only one that has it!) and you platoon Abreu/Damon/Nady with OF/DH roles to keep everyone fresh.

Then you keep Gardner/Melky competing in CF. I noticed about Melky that whenever Cano was doing well, offensively, so did he. Melky is the kind of guy who needs to be competing constantly. Competing with Gardner for that everyday CF position will push him to be as good as he can be. I expect him to come out of the dugout with a stronger bat after the shellacking he took by being sent to AAA.

Next year, when Damon’s contract is up, you have Melky/Gardner to replace him AND play CF. Abreu’s bat stays in the lineup to protect A-Rod (who feels comfortable having Bobby around him) and to keep the consistency. I also noticed that when Bobby was hot, the Yanks won. He helps set the tone. He’s the team pendulum.

I also like the prospect of Swisher at first. His defense is legit and having another switchy in the lineup with Posada could drive any pitcher out of his mind. Swisher is the kind of low pressure role player that is needed. If the Yanks bring back Abreu (PLEASE!), they have a quietly dangerous bottom half of the lineup.

Gardner, Abreu, Damon can all pull extra bases out (Damon/Abreu led the team in steals). Robby will come back a hitting machine. Nady, Arod, Swisher will pull big HR numbers. Jeter, Abreu, and Posada will be your clutch.

It is basic baseball mathematics. Damon, Jeter, Abreu, A-Rod, Posada, Cano, Nady, Swisher, Cabrera/Gardner = Lethal lineup.

What do we do with Matsui and the remaining year of his contract? We can’t sit him. The Asian media will not react kindly to that. Wang provides enough of his own buzz that we don’t have to worry about losing the foreign advertisers.

Deal Matsui to a struggling West Coast team for prospects. San Diego mentioned a need for a hard hitting outfielder. Seattle is turning into Little Tokyo and would be quite brutal with Matsui added to the lineup. What about the idea of Matty and Manny patrolling the outfield for the Dodgers? That could be dangerous. Matsui could complement any of these teams with ease for the remaining year of his contract. The biggest contribution that he can offer to the Yankees would be a graceful departure being replaced by prospects to be developed.

The point is, we NEED to retain Bobby Abreu’s bat.

Capcom istniał. Skąd wiem? Cóż, grałem w gry Capcomu. Wydawało się, że programiści czerpią przyjemność z walki na rynku z innymi developerami…”

Ok, z czym kojarzy się Wam diabeł? Pewnie na dźwięk tego słowa przed oczami mamy rogatą bestię, którą spowijają kłęby gęstego dymu i buchającego ognia, z czerwonymi oczyma i szponami zamiast paznokci. Interpretacji postaci diabła jest mnóstwo – wystarczy przeglądnąć setki książek, filmów, a nawet posłuchać muzyki i być pewnym, że przedstawione wizerunki tegoż jegomościa potrafią być skrajnie różne. Od wspomnianego wcześniej potwora, przez zmieniającą swą postać kreatury do najzwyklejszego człowieka, zazwyczaj eleganckiego. Wydawać by się mogło, że temat jest oklepany na wszystkie strony. A jednak…

Gdy Capcom zapowiedziało projekt o nazwie Devil May Cry nikt nie wiedział, że oto powstaje gra, która na dobre spopularyzuje słabo widzialny w tamtych czasach gatunek slasherów. Wszyscy czekali na to, co zaserwują programiści – zapowiedzi, trailery i screeny były wręcz nieprawdopobonie piękne.. „To tak wygląda?” – nikt nie wierzył w to, co dane było mu zobaczyć. Prawdziwy szok nadszedł jednak odpowiednio 23 sierpnia w Japonii, 17 października w Ameryce i 7 listopada w Europie, bo właśnie wtedy pełna wersja Devil May Cry trafiła na półki sklepowe, z miejsca zostając najładniejszą produkcją na PS2. Naprawdę, takich tekstur, takiego designu (o którym za chwilę) i takiej płynności rozgrywki (60 stałych klatek w wersji NTSC, 50 w wersji PAL) można było ze świecą szukać w innych tytułach z tamtego okresu. Fabuła DMC rzucała nas do starożytnego, gotyckiego zamczyska pełnego posępnych komnat, zagadek i – co najważniejsze – demonów, czekających tylko, żeby je zaszlachtować. A można było to zrobić na wiele sposobów – najbardziej charakterystycznym dla tej pozycji było podbiegnięcie, wybicie poczwary w górę z pomocą miecza i dokończenie sprawy za pomocą dwóch pistoletów, nim delikwent spadnie na ziemię. Zastosowany system walki okazał się strzałem w dziesiątkę – główny bohater, Dante, władał bronią białą i palną, dając graczom pole do popisu w kwestii finezyjnego wykańczania hurtowych ilości wrogów. W sprawnych rękach Dante stawał się istną maszyną do zabijania, wyczyniając na ekranie istne cuda.

Sam główny bohater okazał się niezwykle udanym pomysłem. Shinji Mikami, ojciec projektu, od wielu lat w wywiadach podkreślał, że chce stworzyć tytuł, w którym to przeciwnicy powinni bać się nas, nie odwrotnie. Stworzył więc postać Dantego – cynicznego, doświadczonego i drwiącego z przeciwników łowcę demonów, pół-demona, pół-człowieka. Dzięki takiemu zabiegowi gracz nieustannie czuł, że to on jest panem sytuacji, a każdy następny zastęp demonów, który stanie mu na drodze padnie pod ciosami naszego miecza (lub innej broni – Capcom dał graczom kilka różnych narzędzi mordu, w tym ogniste rękawice i wyrzutnię granatów). Dźwięk również stał na wysokim poziomie – odgłosy broni, otoczenia czy wreszcie muzyka, stanowiąca połączenie rocka z elektronicznymi rytmami – pod tym względem DMC również nie zawodził. Tytuł był rewelacyjny – zarówno pod względem grywalności, jak i niezapomnianego klimatu – mrocznego i posępnego, co było zasługą głównie wspomnianej gotyckiej budowli. Jedyną poważną wadą gry był stosunkowo krótki czas gry – 23 misje przechodziło się zbyt szybko, jednak zawsze można do niej było wrócić, by poprawić wyniki czy zdobyć wszystkie umiejętności.

Capcom dostrzegło w Devil May Cry silną markę i dobry pretekst do zarobienia kolejnych kilku(nastu) milionów dolarów, toteż postanowiono wydać część drugą. Miała ona być standardowym sequelem – czyli „więcej, ładniej, lepiej”. Wydawca postanowił postawić na inny team developerski, co skończyło się na powstaniu najmniej udanej odsłony całej serii. DMC2 został wydany aż na dwóch płytach DVD, z których każda zawierała scenariusz jednej z postaci – Dantego lub niejakiej Lucii, czerwonowłosej łowczymi demonów wspomagającej naszego bohatera w kolejnej krucjacie przeciw poczwarom wszelkiego rodzaju. Gra miała słabszą grafikę, gdyż pod nóż poszły tekstury w zamian za większe tereny działań, które przyszło zwiedzać graczom, jednak animacja postaci wciąż była pierwszoligowa. W drugiej części zaszło sporo zmian, jednak większość z nich niestety była kompletnie nietrafiona. Po pierwsze, klimat – zamiast monumentalnej, gotyckiej budowli dostaliśmy industrialne budynki, miejskie ulice i kawałek autostrady, przez co poczucie mroku straciło na sile. Zmiany w designie dotknęły również przeciwników – nowy wygląd niespecjalnie wyszedł im na dobre – wyglądali bardziej pokracznie, niż mrocznie. Na nieszczęście to samo stało się z bossami – aura ich potęgi została zniszczona poprzez banalne projekty ich postaci i schematyczne sposoby walki z nimi. Sama walka została bardzo spłycona – większość gry opierała się na strzelaniu z dzierżonych przez naszą postać pistoletów, spychając na margines wykorzystywanie broni białej. Nagle Devil May Cry 2 stał się arcade’ową strzelaniną, w dodatku okropnie prostą i krótką– 18 misji Dantego i 12 Lucii kończyło się bardzo szybko (odpowiednio ok. czterech i trzech godzin na postać). Mimo wszystko gra miała swoje plusy – nowe animacje ruchów mogły się podobać (lot głową w dół połączony z ciągłym ostrzałem wrogów i gwiazda z shotgunem wyglądały ślicznie), gameplay był całkiem niezły, jednak cały czas to nie było to, na co przez długi czas czekali gracze. Niestety, Capcom nie spełniło pokładanych w nim nadziei, dostarczając grę zaledwie dobrą, co w przypadku DMC było nie do pomyślenia. Do dzisiaj niektórzy traktują DMC2 jako „alternatywną historię”, tytuł będący raczej ciekawostką, niż pełnoprawną częścią serii.

Po ostrej krytyce ze strony graczy Capcom wzięło się do roboty i dostarczyło Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening. Tym razem narzekania straciły na sile, a gra zebrała zasłużone wysokie oceny. Można ją opisać jako „powrót do przeszłości w nowych szatach” – ponownie pojawiła się wieża w gotyckim stylu, a przede wszystkim – klimat bardzo mocno przypominał ten z pierwszej części. Fabuła przedstawiała młodego Dantego podczas pogoni za swym złym bratem bliźniakiem i jego szalonym pomagierem. Zaszły zmiany w rozgrywce – system walki niesamowicie stuningowano. Najważniejszą nowością był fakt, że gracze dostawali aż sześć różnych styli walki do wyboru – w zależności od wybranego stylu stawaliśmy się mistrzami szermierki, efektownych uników, czy też wymiataliśmy niczym najlepszy El Pistoletro. Każdy z nich mogliśmy ulepszać za zdobyte orby, co stanowiło swego rodzaju motywację do ponownego przejścia gry. W tej części też Capcom zaimplementował możliwość zmieniania broni w locie, podczas walki – wybieraliśmy po dwa miecze i dwa rodzaje pistoletów, a w czasie walki wciskając L2 lub R2 zmienialiśmy broń na tą przez nas pożądaną. Same starcia stały się niesamowicie widowiskowe, podobnie zresztą, jak i cut-scenki – powszechne jest stwierdzenie, że choćby dla nich powinno się przejść DMC3. Ale cut-scenki to nie cała gra, lecz na całe szczęście rozgrywka oferowała bardzo dużo zabawy i potrafiła zaskakiwać (choćby misja, w której akcja toczy się na szachownicy). Do tego grę uczyniono naprawdę hardkorową – pierwsze podejście do niej potrafi zepsuć sporo krwi. Nic dziwnego, że spora część graczy ponownie odzyskała wiarę w Capcom.

Około półtora roku później na rynku pojawił się DMC3 Special Edition. Wersja rozszerzona podstawowego DMC3 zawierała kilka dodatków, w tym możliwość gry bratem Dantego – Vergilem. Niestety, programiści poszli na skróty, wrzucając Vergila w te same miejscówki, co wcześniej Dantego, nie siląc się na napisanie osobnego scenariusza dla tej postaci. Grało się inaczej, owszem, ale jednak niedosyt pozostawał. Dodatkowo mogliśmy przeglądać przerywniki z gry (przydatna opcja), zanurzyć się w Bloody Palace (czyli kolejnych pomieszczeniach z prostym zadaniem – kill them all) czy też wybrać łatwiejszy tryb rozgrywki (zwany tutaj Gold Mode, podstawowy to Yellow Mode). Samą rozgrywkę natomiast pozostawiono bez zmian, chociaż pojawiły się głosy, że DMC3 SE był kapkę łatwiejszy od DA.

Nastał rok 2008 i Devil May Cry 4 zaatakował czytniki Xboxów, PeeStrójek oraz PeCetów. Na całe szczęście dla grających kolejna część płaczącego diabła okazała się piekielnie grywalnym tytułem, który z powodzeniem potrafi wyrwać kilkanaście godzin z życiorysu. Ale o tym przekonajcie się sami – gra nie powinna być specjalnie droga, a zapewniam Was, że pieniądze w nią zainwestowane na pewno nie okażą się straconymi!

Otakon 2008, August 8-10, 2008

Hideki, Tadase, Amu heart transform, Nadeshiko, Yaya, Miki, Suu

A group of friends from college and I went to Otakon this year. We decided that this year we should do a cosplay so we went as 7 of the more main characters from Shugo Chara. The costumes came together nicely, considering I didn’t start them until after graduation and everyone was remote and didn’t get their costumes fitted until the convention itself. The hat, cloak, puffy pants and puffy sleeves are my points of pride. I’m excited to see what I can do in the future; I’m slowly but surely learning good skills.

Otakon was good this year, but honestly, it was more about going with friends than anything. I didn’t even get to one panel this year. Though a lot of that was probably due to the time the cosplay took. I’ve learned from that now and since I’m moved in now, no problems about unpacking.

Hopefully we’ll be able to pull something off next year.
