Just wanted to have a quick update here about the attempted terrorist attack by the al-Qaeda.

The al-Qaeda is a violent Islamic group targeting civilians and military units. More noticeably, they are the group involved in the September 11th attack back in 2001. What is stunning about this is that after 8 years, security measures have not been improved to a more satisfactory degree. Over the past years there has been so much talk about amendments and new levels of security. This news article tells us a different story. The attempt failed due to the explosive device failing and the passengers around the terrorist being precautious. Rather than security or technology detecting what was taped to his leg, passengers on the Northwest Airlines survived through pure luck.

The link actually takes you to a login page that appears to be Hotmail/ MSN login page and prompts for your credentials (to hijack your account).  After the account is hijacked , similar emails are sent through your email address to all the contacts in your address book.

If you are already a victim of any such hijack , please change your password and security question immediately and notify all your contacts about it.

The bottom line is ” Never enter your credentials to any untrusted site and always take a look at the URL”

Cooking with Canola and convo hijackings

So Domestic Goddess has gotten herself into another pickle….cooking with Canola baby!

Seems this was the topic that caused my nerves to be grated today after my Conola convo was hijacked. So what’s up with people hijacking my conversations in public places? I was in the grocery store today with my mate discussing Canola oil and the contreversy surrounding the “claimed”toxic oil – to which a (actually kinda hot) 35 year old ish man in front of us at the grocery store turned to us and started out the same way most of my convos get hijacked – to say – well I “couldn’t help but overhearing…”
Really? did you try not listening – perhaps ignorning?

“…but Canola is actually not a made-up oil – its a combination of Vegatable and corn oil”.”

hmmmm…all the info I’ve found doesn’t mention “corn”—but does mention – “man-made” from a hybrid of toxic-to-human plants…..natural you say–but doesn’t always equal good for you – like wine in copious amounts …

But the real thing bothering me I suppose – is not that I tend to get mis-informed…
but that random people feel compelled to let me know…..why is that?
do I have a sign on me that says – please educate stupid-ass me?
or perhaps I look helpless like a baby rabbit (albeit a cute one)–and if the latter is the case….you’d think I’d be scooped up to live at the Playboy mansion already …hey Hugh…I’m kidding….

All kidding aside…could anyone tell me what is causing this phenomenon from grocery store to ground coffee houses and pubs all over the city?

I once took part in the hijacking of an airliner. It would have been in about 1990, at Heathrow airport.

It started like a normal working day. At least, normal for me at the time. I got up before six and drove to Belfast International Airport, where I caught the first British Midland (BM, now BMI) flight to London. I often flew over for meetings, and if there were no travel problems, it was possible to get to one of our central London buildings before ten, as early as those coming by train from other UK cities could make it. Then there would be a full day for meetings and I’d catch another flight back home. The last BMI one was ninteen-thirty.

For most of my career, I’d do that once or twice a month, although it could be more often sometimes. I remember one week where discussions, problems and issues meant that I was in London on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and Belfast on Tuesday and Thursday. That was a little excessive.

This one Winter day, I was travelling with my boss and another colleague to the same meeting in London. It went well, and everything was finished by about three. The other two took the chance to head out to Heathrow early and get the seventeen-thirty flight back home. They’d be home before eight, which seemed quite a luxury. But instead, I decided to take the spare couple of hours and go shopping. Our office was a short walk from Denmark Street, famous for its musical instrument shops, and I had decided I wanted one of them new-fangled synthesisers.

I bought a state-of-the-art Roland D-5, a full-sized, 80-key job. (I still have it, although it’s ridiculously primitive now.) I put the large cardboard carton under my arm and took the Tube out to Heathrow. When the line emerged overground at Barons’ Court I noticed that it had started to snow a little. I don’t like snow much. I know it can add a lot of scenic prettiness, but that doesn’t begin to forgive the wet or the cold, or the inconvenience to travellers.

That latter is a hint. I emerged from the Underground, following a path I could have negotiated with my eyes shut, to the Belfast departure area, the Gate 49 immortalised by SLF. I was in good time for the flight, and everything seemed normal at first, although I could see that the snow outside was continuing to fall. At that time British Airways operated a direct Heathrow – Belfast flight as well, on the even half-hours, whie BMI did the odd half-hours. So the BA eighteen-thirty was just about to board when I arrived.

Or rather, it wasn’t. There was an announcement: “This airport is now closed to British Airways and all flights are cancelled. If you have any questions, please consult your travel agent.” And that was it. All the BA staff disappeared, and left their customers milling around in confusion. The BMI passengers waited to see what their fate would be.

You have to understand that conditions were now getting severe. There was almost three centimetres of gently fallen snow on the ground. Well, I’m sarcastic, but it isn’t the snow on the ground that’s the problem. On aeroplane wings though, even a little snow or ice can seriously interfere with the aerodynamics and simply stop the plane from flying properly. But there is a solution — literally — airlines and airports have machines to spray antifreeze on the wings before take-off.

To my surprise, BMI announced that their plane was ready to be boarded, and, only a little delayed compared to the scheduled time, everyone embarked. Quite a contrast between the two airlines, in that we were being taken home, while the BA passengers were abandoned. But when our plane taxied out towards the runway, it stopped. For a long time. I’d seen that the infamous Reverend Ian Paisley had got on the flight, and his braying voice in the cabin added to the irritation.

The Captain came on the PA and told us that there was a queue for take-off, and then later, that there was a queue for the antifreeze machine. We waited and waited. The Captain spoke to us again, and inadvertently let slip that his company’s antifreeze machine was busy because it was being rented out to other airlines, making me feel a little less warmly towards BMI. We waited and waited.

Oh, they gave us food and drinks. In those days, everyone got a hot meal on the Belfast flight, so the staff just served it while we were still on the ground. But we still just waited on the tarmac. Then, in the early hours, the Captain regretfully announced that he and his co-pilot had now run out of legal working hours, and wouldn’t be able to fly us to Belfast. He would have to take the plane back to the terminal and put us off.

It was at this point that the passengers rebelled. A young English traveler in a business suit got up in the aisle and, addressing the entire cabin, suggested that if we refused to get off, the airline would have to fly us to Belfast. A crazy idea, but when everyone agreed to put it into practice, it actually worked. The timed-out pilots left, and were replaced with a new crew within a couple of hours. By around eight in the morning, after having sat in the plane all night, we were on our way to Belfast.

When I was back on the ground, I phoned my girlfriend, who was a journalist, to tell her what had happened, and for the first time since knowing her, I was on the receiving end of her interrogation skills. Sorry, interviewing skills. It was  a side of her I knew nothing about, and it was surprisingly intimidating. But my interview got on the front page of the Belfast Telegraph, where I was described as “local businessman”.

Both that newspaper story and the report on television news had input from other journalists who had got their story from the Paisley camp, and in that version, Ian Paisley was the leader of the passenger revolt. It wasn’t true; he was a follower, not a leader; but that experience told me a lot about how news is made.

The enemy is probing the wire again.  The official news release of the article just mentioned an unruly passenger who wouldn’t turn off his cell phone.  Mr. Petruna paints a vastly different, and very alarming picture of what happened.

Some AirTran and some news outlets deny and refute Mr. Petruna’s story.  However, there have been sources from inside AirTran (pilots) who confirmed that the incident did indeed occur pretty much as Mr. Petruna described.

At the very least, these 11 muslims were trolling for a lawsuit, a-la CAIR (Counsel on American Islamic Relations) who was behind the lawsuit from a bunch of imams who got kicked off of a flight for acting in a very suspicious manner.  More likely they were also probing the defenses of the airlines again for some of their terrorist brothers.

Stop the political correctness and WAKE UP, AMERICA!  Admit who the REAL enemy is before it is too late.  They are already inside the wire.

E-mail about AirTran flight 297

This is the e-mail Houstonian Tedd Petruna sent last month about flight 297 from Atlanta to Houston.

“One week ago, I went to Ohio on business and to see my father. On Tuesday, November 17, I returned home. If you read the papers, you may have seen a blurb where an AirTran flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Houston due to a man who refused to get off of his cell phone before takeoff. It was on Fox.
That was NOT what happened!
I was in first class coming home. Eleven muslim men got on the plane in full attire. Two sat in first class and the rest peppered themselves throughout the plane all the way to the back. As the plane taxied to the runway, the stewardesses gave the safety spiel we are all so familiar with. At that time, one of the men got on his cell and called one of his companions in the back and proceeded to talk on the phone in Arabic very loudly and very aggressively. This took the first stewardess out of the picture for she repeatedly told the man that cell phones were not permitted at the time. He ignored her as if she wasn’t there.
The second man who answered the phone did the same and this took out the second stewardess. In the back of the plane at this time, 2 younger muslims, one in the back aisle, and one in front of him, window, began to show footage of a porno they had taped the night before, and were very loud about it. Now, they are only permitted to do this prior to Jihad. If a Muslim man goes into a strip club, he has to view the woman via mirror with his back to her (don’t ask me, I don’t make the rules, but I’ve studied). The third stewardess informed them that they were not to have electronic devices on at this time. To which one of the men said, “shut up infidel dog!” She went to take the camcorder and he began to scream in her face in Arabic.
At that exact moment, all 11 of them got up and started to walk to the cabin. This is where I had had enough! I got up and started to the back where I heard a voice behind me from another Texan twice my size say, “I got your back.” I grabbed the man who had been on the phone by the arm and said, “you WILL go sit down or you Will be thrown from this plane!” As I led him around me to take his seat, the fellow Texan grabbed him by the back of his neck and his waist and headed out with him. I then grabbed the second man and said, “You WILL do the same!” He protested but adrenaline was flowing now and he was going to go. As I escorted him forward, the plane doors open and 3 TSA agents and 4 police officers entered. Me and my new Texan friend were told to cease and desist for they had this under control. I was happy to oblige actually. There was some commotion in the back, but within moments, all 11 were escorted off the plane. They then unloaded their luggage.
We talked about the occurrence and were in disbelief that it had happened, when suddenly, the door opened again and on walked all eleven!! Stone faced, eyes front and robotic (the only way I can describe it). The stewardess from the back had been in tears and when she saw this, she was having NONE of it! Being that I was up front, I heard and saw the whole ordeal. She told the TSA agent there was NO WAY she was staying on the plane with these men. The agent told her they had searched them and were going to go through their luggage with a fine tooth comb and that they were allowed to proceed to Houston. The captain and co-captain came out and told the agent, “we and our crew will not fly this plane!” After a word or two, the entire crew, luggage in tow, left the plane. Five minutes later, the cabin door opened again and a whole new crew walked on.
Again, this is where I had had enough!! I got up and asked, “What the hell is going on?” I was told to take my seat. They were sorry for the delay and I would be home shortly. I said, “I’m getting off this plane.” The stewardess sternly told me that she could not allow me to get off.
Now I’m mad! I said, “I am a grown man who bought this ticket, who’s time is mine with a family at home and I am going through that door, or I’m going through that door with you under my arm!! But I am going through that door!!” And I heard a voice behind me say, “So am I.” Then everyone behind us started to get up and say the same. Within 2 minutes, I was walking off that plane where I was met with more agents who asked me to write a statement. I had 5 hours to kill at this point so why the hell not. Due to the amount of people who got off that flight, it was cancelled. I was supposed to be in Houston at 6pm. I got here at 12:30am.
Look up the date. Flight 297, Atlanta to Houston.
If this wasn’t a dry run, I don’t know what one is. They wanted to see how TSA would handle it, how the crew would handle it, and how the passengers would handle it.
I’m telling this to you because I want you to know. The threat is real. I saw it with my own eyes.

AirTran passenger’s e-mail about Flight 297 incident goes viral

I read a story about an e-mail describing a “dry run for terrorists” that delayed AirTran Flight 297 on Nov. 17, and the first thing that came to my mind was, “Is Tedd Petruna trying to land a spot on a reality TV show or something?”

Honestly, who can tell any more? First we have balloon boy and his nutso parents in October and the White House crashers a month later. Both of the “guilty” parties in these incidents did what they did to get on reality TV shows.

Tedd Petruna was on an AirTran flight Nov. 17 from Atlanta to Houston, and as it was getting ready to take off, he says a group of “Muslim men” were being disruptive, not heeding cabin crew instructions to turn off electronic devices, and generally causing a ruckus. Tedd claims that he and another tall Texan took matters into their own hands and manhandled those guys off the plane, more or less. Ummm, uh huh. The men were taken off the plane and after a while, let back on, with officials saying they posed no security threat. Tedd was so incensed that he blasted out an e-mail that has since gone viral.

AirTran disputes practically every part of Mr. Petruna’s account of the incident. The carrier refuted the e-mail on its internal Web site, as reported by The Dallas Morning News.

So what makes me think that Tedd wants to be a TV star is that at this point in time, he can’t comment on the incident or the e-mail for “personal and financial reasons” but he’s glad it got out. Interesting.

Something that bothers me from AirTran’s side of it: that the AirTran crews were swapped. If there’s no problem, why switch crews? Maybe it’s the same reason they asked if any of the passengers wanted to get off and wait for another plane. Tedd and 11 other people took AirTran up on the offer.

I’m certainly not minimizing that this may have been a scary situation for the passengers and crew on that flight, but it seems a little alarmist to say that the sky is falling because some “Muslim men” — by the way, no one actually knows the religious preference or ethnicity of the men in question — won’t switch off their iPhones, BlackBerries, or whatever.

Between AirTran’s spin doctoring and Mr. Petruna’s e-mail, it’s hard to know what really happened, and it’s even harder to discern Mr. Petruna’s motives in sending out a mass e-mail. But we’ll all know the truth if we see Tedd on the next cycle of Survivor!

Tom Stephan – Turn That Shit Up (Diplo Remix): Diplo оседлал любимую лошадку, сделав ремикс на “самого себя” = Pon Di Floor + Jump Up. Но и при этом чувство грува ему не изменило. Сонм трендов последних 6 месяцев, вроде и точку уже ставить пора.
Crystal Fighters – I Love London (80kidz Remix): совсем не оценил поначалу я этот ремикс на один из моих любимых треков, только раза с третьего увидел в нем потенциал, мелодику Thin White Duke и фирменный звук Foamo.

Newly decoded data provided by an independent researcher and computer programmer from Australia exposes alarming evidence that the reported hijacking aboard American Airlines Flight 77 was impossible to have existed. A data parameter labeled “FLT DECK DOOR”, cross checks with previously decoded data obtained by Pilots For 9/11 Truth from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) through the Freedom Of Information Act.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight 77 departed Dulles International Airport bound for Los Angeles at 8:20 am Eastern Time. According to reports and data, a hijacking took place between 08:50:54 and 08:54:11[1] in which the hijackers allegedly crashed the aircraft into the Pentagon at 09:37:45. Reported by CNN, according to Ted Olson, wife Barbara Olson had called him from the reported flight stating, “…all passengers and flight personnel, including the pilots, were herded to the back of the plane by armed hijackers…”[2]. However, according to Flight Data provided by the NTSB, the Flight Deck Door was never opened in flight. How were the hijackers able to gain access to the cockpit, remove the pilots, and navigate the aircraft to the Pentagon if the Flight Deck Door remained closed?[3]

Founded in August 2006, Pilots For 9/11 Truth is a growing organization of aviation professionals from around the globe. The organization has analyzed Data provided by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for the Pentagon Attack, the events in Shanksville, PA and the World Trade Center attack. The capacity of Ghana’s Navy to monitor Ghana’s territorial waters was last Tuesday stretched to its full limit as a group of oil pirates slipped through their fingers leaving behind a vessel load of oil. 

The pirates believed to be Nigerians were said to have hijacked an oil vessel from the oil rich country and brought it into Ghanaian waters. 

The vessel christened “African Prince,” belongs to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), which is currently anchored at the Tema Habour Under heavy security. The vessel is said to be carrying in its belly board about 29,000 to 32, 000 barrels (6,000 tons) of refined petroleum. 

Impeccable security sources told The Enquirer that the pirates who had taken the crew of the shipping vessel led by a Pakistani by name Captain Shahid Siddiqui, hostage managed to escape in a speedboat on seeing personnel of the Ghana Navy approaching their stolen marine vehicle.

Interestingly, the navy could not chase them because its boat was not in good shape. 

Information gathered by this paper has it that the runaway pirates believed to rebels fighting the Nigerian government at the oil-rich Niger Delta, had navigated the vessel through Cotonou to Togo and finally brought it to Ghana, looking for someone to buy the petrol till they were spotted by the Ghana Navy. 

Since the arrest of the vessel and rescue of the crew, two Ghanaian owned companies have surprisingly showed up all claiming to be agents of the vessel and its cargo.

While one of the companies, Multiplan claims it is an agent for the oil onboard the vessel, Henbic Agency, is saying it is agent for the vessel here in Ghana. 

But the National Security Council which facilitated the arrest, is said to be adamant insisting on thorough investigations to be conducted into the case and backgrounds of the agents before any deal is reached with them. 

On board the vessel itself, the Navy discovered that one of the crew members by name Ndubusi Okorie, said to be the cook on the vessel was dead and his body badly decomposed. The body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra. 

Mr. Okorie, who is said to be diabetic and hypertensive, is believed to have died out of fear. The Security Coordinator at the Tema Port, Colonel (Rtd.) Benjamin Agudogo, declined to speak when The Enquirer reached him for further details on the vessel except to say “we are still investigating allow us to finish.” 

Meanwhile there are ‘indications in the Nigerian media that the vessels have been missing and is being looked for by that country’s security.

Prenez ce pote de collège, qui un jour à eu l’excellente idée de m’appeler au milieu de l’aprem’ un mercredi en se faisant passer pour une radio locale, me tenant la jambe quinze bonnes minutes à me faire jouer à un jeu débile pour me faire gagner des CD. Je n’avais pas reconnu sa voix, ni celles de ses copines de chez qui il téléphonait. La blague s’acheva sur une explosion de rire généralisée et des vannes dans la cour de récré pendant une bonne semaine. Ah ah qu’on l’a bien eu ce jeune Le Reilly. Or s’il y a bien un truc que je hais sur cette planète de merde, c’est les canulars. Dix ans plus tard, je l’ai retrouvé sur Paris (preuve s’il en fallait qu’ils prennent vraiment n’importe qui au Celsa). Et après toutes ces années, j’avais toujours un début d’envie de lui coller mon poing dans la gueule.

Je suis un type plutôt marrant. J’ai vide adopté la maxime comme quoi fille qui rit, à moitié dans ton lit. Fun fact, ça fonctionne. Mais dans l’humour comme dans le reste, il y a des crimes. En ce qui me concerne, j’ai un très faible niveau de tolérance au canular. Dans les faits, c’est fomenter et créer le malheur ou l’humiliation de l’un pour faire rire l’autre. Ce n’est donc pas se moquer de quelqu’un qui glisse sur une banane, c’est mettre la banane sous ses pieds. S’il existait une police de l’humour, le canular serait répréhensible, considéré comme le crime qu’il est. Je dis ça sans une once d’hypocrisie. De toute ma vie je n’ai jamais appuyé sur un interphone au pif, je n’ai jamais composé un numéro dans l’annuaire pour faire une farce, je n’ai jamais orchestré la chute de quelqu’un pour m’en moquer. Je dois être un kikoo lol, trop préoccupé à me mettre à la place de la victime pour esquisser le moindre sourire.

Je suis un type plutôt sérieux. Dimanche quelqu’un à trouvé le moyen d’accéder à mon Twitter pour poster une connerie : « LeReilly se demande le prix d’une escort-girl aux States ». Lolilaule. J’ai pas ri. Je crois que personne à ri en fait. A part le crétin congénital auteur anonyme. Une personne qui ne connait pas l’adage comme quoi les blagues les plus courtes sont les meilleures en refusant de revendiquer son minable tag’ à la face du web. Attention point Godwin : Ben Laden revendique ses attentats lui au moins. Sauf que je suis sérieux. Et quelqu’un qui s’amuse à infiltrer mes comptes, non seulement ça me fait pas rire, mais ça me met en rogne. Sérieusement. Imaginez que vous rentriez chez vous pour voir une bite dessinée au marqueur sur le mur du salon. Qui à les clefs de chez moi ? Comment il les a eues ? Ce serait dans la vraie vie, la police, ça la ferait pas rire non plus. Ah oui mais on est sur le net, un endroit magique et bucolique où rien n’a d’importance.

Je suis un type plutôt geek. Sur le net j’ai mes mails, mes réservation d’avion, ma carte bleue, pas mal de mon boulot. L’usurpation d’identité, le hack ou whatever, ça va nettement plus loin que la simple blague. C’est un beau motif de poing dans la gueule. A fortiorri quand on ne vient pas avouer, rassurer, faire amende honorable à la victime sur le dos de qui on s’est bien marré. Alors j’ai passé deux jours à tout sécuriser un gros coup, faire des déductions, pris de nouvelles habitudes. Et la confiance que je pouvais accorder en tous mes amis/connaissances/contacts vient de baisser d’un cran. Un ninja UMP n’aurait pas été plus efficace. C’est dans ces moments là que j’aurais aimé qu’existe une police des mauvaises blagues, constituées de clowns de Stephen King, pour rappeler à certaines personnes ce qu’ils sont. Pas. Drôles. (et lâches accessoirement)

Diyaarada way afduuban tahay. The four words, screamed by a mad man wielding a pistol in mid-air, are etched into my memory like lyrics in a veteran singer’s mind. This plane is hijacked.

The pilots turned the plane around and landed, pretending it was the destination the hijackers had demanded. Shots were fired but no-one was hurt. The passengers had no doubt about what the hijackers wanted…

The hijackers say they wanted to take two hostages – German journalists on board the plane – and that the rest of us Somalis would be set free in Las Qorey.

Security is rudimentary at most Somali airports. A few dollars in the right palms would make it easy to carry guns on board. In fact, I’m rather surprised this doesn’t happen more often. The limiting factor may well be the small number of westerners who risk flights in and out of the country.  (It might be time for the UN to reconsider its ban on journalists buying seats on its flights to and from Somalia.)

What does all of this mean? I have no idea. But it can’t be good.
