A song that I have listened and loved for quite a few years and always seems to never sound old and tired is called Beautiful World by Utada Hikaru. This song was also selected to be a theme song for one of the new Neon Genesis Evangelion movies titled “Evangelion: 1.0 You are (not) alone” others also know it by The Rebuild of Evangelion.

The song is sang mostly in Japanese where the last couple of lines is in English and a lot of Japanese artists seem to love doing that these days which is awesome as they are appealing to wider audiences. the message of the song is that the singer being a female is singing about loving this boy and that she wants to be near him no matter the cost and it’s just really really relaxing to listen to. There are very few songs that I listen to so much that it tops my iTunes most played with a few hundred listens. Even though it’s just the typical love song about wanting someone quite bad its how she portrays the fact that she really means it through he style of singing its a neo-jazz feeling where she loves to use a fair amount of vibrato on her voice and at the same time can control it so well that she can pull it off and keep the listener intrigued and hooked. In this song she puts so much emotion in to it that she does a build up of feeling as the song progresses, even though the song begins with the chorus as a hook and then down in to the 1st verse with loads of harmonies laid on top of her main vocals which is real nice touch considering there isn’t a lot of instruments which is why the producer was able to put so much more emphasis on her voice to fill the void and make it stand out at the same time. The only instruments are just drums, strings, piano and a bass- not even an acoustic guitar. Personally I think that is a nice touch, although I play guitar I feel that it’s the most overrated instrument there is I mean like 90% of people on my uni course plays guitar! So after a day of guitar listening to that really refreshes my mind and thinks songs can be made the old way without a guitar and still have such a massive effect.

Utada Hikaru is one of Japan’s most popular singers and songwriters, with multiple albums achieving number 1 status and awards.

She has the most beautiful voice and has done songs in both English as well as Japanese.

This story is just too good and exciting to pass up. Basically there is a rumor going around that Utada will be touring in 2010, maybe as early as January. She is speculated to have a full band backing her so hopefully this will be an official big exciting tour. If this turns out to be true then you can bet I will be the first one with tickets

UPDATE:

It’s been reported that Utada will indeed be having a US/UK Tour. The tour is reported to start in Hawaii and then 9 other US dates. The tour is said to end with a date for the UK.

Bom, vamos começar com uma noticia. A JBC anunciou no Comix Fest, que vai lançar em breve aqui em solo brasileiro o manga Hikaru no Go!
O Manga começou a ser publicado em 1998 pela Shonen Jump. O manga foi criado por Yumi Hotta, e ilustrado por Takeshi Obata (que também ilustrou Death Note e Bakuman).

Hikaru no Go, que significa mais ou menos “O Go de Hikaru”, conta a história de Shindou Hikaru, um garoto que aprende a jogar um tradicional jogo chamado Go, por meio dos ensinamentos de um fantasma que era antigo tutor do imperador. O sucesso dos 23 volumes em manga de Hikaru no Go, foi suficiente para criarem a versão em anime, que com 76 episódios, foi exibida de Outubro de 2001 a Março de 2003.

A história começa quando Hikaru encontra um tabuleiro na casa de seu avô, com sua amiga Akari. O tabuleiro estava manchado de sangue, mas só ele via a mancha. Hikaru tenta limpar a marca de sangue, mas um fantasma diz alguma coisa, e então assustado, Hikaru desmaia. Quando acorda, o fantasma conta sua história para Hikaru. Ele era o antigo tutor de Go de um imperador no período Heian. Devido a um acidente, ele morreu, e sua alma ficou presa dentro do tabuleiro de Go, pois ainda tinha assuntos pendentes.

O fantasma então, de nome Sai, que tem assuntos pendentes com o jogo Go, pede a Hikaru que o leve a um clube de Go. Eles vão, e depois de muita insistência, Hikaru joga com outra pessoa de sua idade, Akira. Na verdade, quem joga é Sai. Hikaru (Sai) vence, e depois descobre que Akira é o filho do maior jogar de Go da atualidade. Só que mal sabia ele que daí pra frente, Akira começaria a persegui-lo.

//EDIT: Como eu respondi pra Gih, que comentou no post, acho que podemos comparar Hikaru no Go com Yu-Gi-Oh. Não estou dizendo que são iguais, definitivamente. Só digo que a história é parecida, já que ambas histórias são sobre garotos que jogam um jogo, “controlados” por um “fantasma” de alguma era antiga. Apesar de Yu-Gi-Oh ser 2 anos mais velho que Hikaru no Go (Yu-Gi-Oh foi lançado em 1996).//

It was a beautiful day outside today — a completely unexpected, spring-like day in the middle of October. While I spent most of the day at work and indoors, it was nice to go outside once in a while.

My co-worker and friend, Hikaru, took these photographs of me today. Check out her blog, as well as her Etsy shop, WonderWonder. She is a fantastic graphic designer and artist, with really great products!

I wore my favorite and insanely comfortable green jumpsuit, paired with my most worn scarf, both thrifted. I crocheted my hat (see some more of my crocheted items in my Etsy shop), and paired it all with a brown American Apparel sweater and white H&M flip-flops. All of these items are well-loved and well-worn (and featured in previous posts, like this one and this one).

Although it is high time for a wardrobe update, it is nice to have The Old Faithfuls — those items that make you feel good each time you wear them. I am in the process of dwindling my life down to its bare essentials, and by “bare essentials” I mean the things I absolutely cannot live without. It is amazing how many things we collect that we really don’t even want, let alone need!

With 2010 fast approaching, I’m determined to only focus on things I am passionate about, and that includes the clothes I wear.

Das waren natürlich noch nicht alle, der Bücherwurm und Spongebob und Garry haben ja noch gefehlt. Und Findus, der ürigens von einer Frau vertont wurde, als die Zeichentricksendungen noch die Welt verstrahlen durfte. Wurde ja zum Wohle aller abgesetzt.

Auch zu beachten sind die 1.FC Köln sachen.

Well I guess that is a little premature but she has finally made some new posts on her blog. While the content of the posts aren’t very interesting, the interesting bit is it is the first we have heard from her in almost 4 months! I really hope she will be coming back to the spotlight in full swing because I have been going through some serious Utada withdrawls.

Ayaya (Matsuura Aya) is another famous soloist, from the same company as Nacchi! hehe
They both come from Hello!Project, which is a management group for female singers only (kinda like Johnnys but only girls). However they both “graduated” from the Elder Club a few months ago, so they are now part of another management company (which is affiliated with Hello!Project) i think…confusing aye?
Anyways Ayaya has quite the fanbase both in Japan and overseas and its obvious why: shes cute, and sings well too
Shes also in a lot of advertisements and has many popular songs…which i shall post later on hehe
This one is of her singing (passionately according to the Japanese in the link) Utada Hikaru’s first love! ^^

i’m trying to figure out why there are negative four days of summer left. JUST WHY?

my family just got back from maine. pretty incredible. it will always have been the best weather for the days when we were there and then right when we left it was supposed to rain. AHAHAHAHA we know how to plan our vacations. when we went to peaks island to hang out and do some sight-seeing, we came across this. it was the best thing. and the lady there was AMAZING. she played her accordion and sang the most fantastic song and then she showed me out to play it so now i actually HAVE to learn how to play the accordion too. it’s really frustrating and amazing because i have a million other instruments that i have to infuse into my mind and learn how to play by the time thespecies is up and running and better than claire and tyler (except we already are, but whatever.)

finished two compositions today. they are the shit. for real. ummmmm, not much else to say. i’m jealous that i didn’t get to eat chicken today. i really could have used some. ):

OH. pirates of penzance is on monday. I will NEVER actually get any part in the whole play. that will never be true.

I FINALLY GOT ALL MY MUSIC ONTO MY NEW COMPUTER. so now it’s not just radiohead, although it would be okay if it were. i’m just glad to have m.i.a., incubus, utada hikaru, imogen heap, etc. on my computer again. i had to buy an external hard drive enclosure from radio shack for $40, but it was totally worth it.

When the members realize Haruhi’s gender, they have now to protect her secret, which it’s not gonna be easy to hide or to ignore…

Appreciation: OMG, I loved, love and will always love to watch this anime over and over. The plot, the characters and backgrounds are terribly well made. I never found myself so impressed with the capacity of creating such fabulous and peculiar personalities.

The animation is fantastic. The expressions and effects are 10,  although the art is not particulary detailed, and the pale colours prevail. If you are annoyed, sulking on a corner, feeling gloomy, or just want to have a good deal of laugh, there’s no better cure. This is one of the anime’s you can watch again timeless times, it will always feel as funny as the first time. And it’s fun to see how the history deepens and you see, despise all the emoticonical (lol) chibis, it deals with a quite fairly mature and common life issues you probably can identify with.

In spite of being a shojo anime, if you have a fair sense of humour, you are gonna love this.

I wouldn’t say I was actually looking for this. I just found it while I was looking at my 2nd dance challenge comments when I saw this as a related video. They all grew so much. 7 is either standing on boxes to be the same height or they just really grew. I love Chi’s hair in these pictures. I can’t believe these pictures are from this summer. It’s like 2 months when I saw them so small especially Chi, then they’re already growing so fast I can’t keep up with them. Singing mature songs and more. Demo ne. I’ll still support them even if their cute side goes away. GAMBATTE HEY SAY JUMP!

Now that we all know what happens when each couple goes home together, I will now rewrite about all 20 characters and what happens the next day. Here’s a little recap of what happened to each couple

Kuchiki Nakito & Yamada Ryosuke: Nakito was shocked that her co-enemy is walking her home. When Nakito asks Ryosuke to leave her alone she finds a little surprise. What she thought was a prank was real. As Nakito’s heart races to try to escape, Ryosuke comes to the rescue. -Chapter 20-

Yoshikawa Yui & Inoo Kei: Inoo and Yui go to a resturant to have dinner together. It was Inoo’s treat saying thank you. When a random guy asks him to play the piano, Yui is shocked to hear a song so passionately.

Eibihara Chii & Takaki Yuya: The two of them decide to go to a park. Chii trip and fell. That’s when Takaki started to care of Chii’s wound. When they  both looked at the stars one of them reminded Chii of a cat. When Takaki said he would like to be a cat Chii hugged him to see if he would turn into one like in Fruits Basket, but it didn’t work. Takaki gave Chii a piggyback ride on the way home

Hayashi Misaki & Yuri Chinen: The two of them started taking different pictures of each other. When Misaki heard yelling she broke out into a run which made Chinen concerned. Then Misaki told Chinen how her mom hates her, but he didn’t believe that.

Kitahoshi Ikumi & Arioka Daiki: Daiki and Ikumi started to open up. Daiki told Ikumi why he started talking to her in the first place. Then they almost kissed, but a cat ruined it.

Tsutanaga Yuki & Okamoto Keito: Keito revealed his feelings towards Yuki and the both of them started to go out. When they did a duet on the street people wanted to give them a tip, but they refused. Just as Keito was about to kiss Yuki, Yuki’s dad opens the door and  treats him like he’s part of the family already.

Yushiko Misaki & Yabu Kota: Misaki lives in a dangerous area. When they are surrounded by delinquents Yabu fights back. When Misaki is getting pulled away from him, he gets injured.

Hanazawa Ren & Nakajima Yuto: The two of them see some street performers and Yuto was asked to join in causing the performers to have more people watch it than usual.

Kimura Yuzuyu & Ryutaro Morimoto: The two of them climb a tree in a park. When they reach the top their bodies suddenly move on their own and kiss.

Sakamoto Rin & Yaotome Hikaru: Rin’s brother, Takashi, finds Rin and Hikaru together on some swings. The two of them start to argue and Rin is pulled away by her brother

This chapter is now going to be about getting ready for the soccer tournament that’s going to be in a week. It will also show the awkward moments between them after that night.

Change of Heart

My 4th successful story, Change of Heart, is already up to its 29th chapter. This time this chapter is about Yaotome Hikaru and Sakamoto Rin. Here’s a little informationa bout their personalities…

Yaotome Hikaru: A smart and funny guy. He likes to create the mood in the room. The problem with Hikaru is that whenever he tries to impress a girl he always gets nervous and says the wrong thing.

Sakamoto Rin: A quiet girl who doesn’t smile. She only smiles at the sight of ice cream. She gives out a mysterious aura and loves to listen to sad songs. Most people keep a distance from her.

How they met: Rin was called out by her boyfriend to the beach on her…3rd anniversary to spend the day together. Demo…her boyfriend instead just broke up with her causing Rin to be heart-broken. Then Hikaru was passing by when he saw a crying maiden and rescued her. He offered to keep her company the whole day and that’s what he did. A lot of events happened after that.

Anyway, Chapter 29 is about what happens when  Hikaru and Rin walk home from school together. ^_^ Hikaru then brings up a memory that Rin doesn’t want to remember…her exboyfriend. Will she tell Hikaru all her feelings that day or will she keep it to herself??
