Abraço e fiquem na Paz de Deus

Domingo passado (04-10-09) meu amigo Tih me liga ás 9hrs da manhã e me chama pro Play, assim, do nada. Disse que a Irmã dele tava de folga e resolveu me chamar. Eu tava sem grana, mas tinha o ingresso que eu tinha comprado pra ir com meu amigo “Rick”, então, resolvi ir. Foi bem divertido, a Sabrina, amiga dele e da irmã dele, é super legal, já tive a chance de sair com ela outras vezes, a irmã dele também, amo ela.

Como toda vez que eu saio, sempre tem algo que faz o dia ser HI-LÁ-RIO, nesse dia não podia ser diferente como a Sabrina tendo um ataque de Pânico no “Barco Viking” logo depois de dizer que era que nem “rede”, ou ela morrendo de medo e se assustando fácil assim que soltaram os monstros, a Enorme volta que nós demos pra chegar no Terminal, sem saber que tinha um caminho beeeeeeeem mais curto e claro, o ônibus indo embora acompanhada das palavras do Tih ” Hey, Ei, Para, Ei…”

Enfim, foi um dia FODA!

Arsenal’s 6-2 demolition of Blackburn on Sunday was not only a visual treat for all football lovers with the quality of play, but it also sees the Gunners dominate the Actim Team of the Week, with four players making the XI. The mercurial Cesc Fabregas leads the way with an impressive haul of 66 points after he ran the show at Emirates Stadium, scoring one and creating four of the other goals. Thomas Vermaelen, Theo Walcott and Robin Van Persie complete Arsenal’s presence.

That impressive performance from Fabregas sees him climb 11 places into second place in the overall Actim Index. Didier Drogba retains top spot after his created both of Chelsea’s goals against Liverpool, while Fernando Torres slips to fourth with Robbie Keane remaining in third place. There are four new entries into the top 10, with Manchester City duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Craig Bellamy, Vermaelen and Darren Bent all making headway up the index.

The fact that Drogba is up at the summit is no surprise given that he has consistently been there or thereabouts for the past few seasons. However, the fact his Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard is not challenging him for top spot is a major surprise. Lampard has been invaluable for the Blues in recent seasons, scoring many and creating many more with his advancing midfield role. However, under the tenure of Carlo Ancelotti, Lampard has found himself either on the left side or at the most advanced point of a diamond formation and his potency – coupled with his ability to score heavily in the Actim Index – has been affected. In Week Eight of the Index, the England man lies a disappointing 75th, having scored just one goal – a penalty against Sunderland.

One thing that Lampard has not been lacking this season is his ability to pick a pass out and the 31-year-old stands second in the entire Index of players with the most passes to their name. Javier Mascherano of Liverpool leads the way with 174 completed passes, Lampard has 166 and Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher has 164. Needless to say there are not any Bolton, Blackburn or Hull players near the top of the list.

It was another good week for Burnley as they recorded their fourth successive home victory and two of their players landed places in the Team of the Week. Full-backs Tyrone Mears and Stephen Jordan both made the select XI with scores of 27 and 25 respectively. Chelsea’s stand-in goalkeeper Hilario and Drogba are also in there, along with Hull midfielder Geovanni, Stoke defender Robert Huth and Tottenham’s Niko Kranjcar, who scored his first goal for the club against Bolton.

It has not been a great season for goalkeepers so far in the Index and despite several error-strewn performances, Manchester United’s Ben Foster is still the leading stopper. He is well down the overall Index, though, lying 34th, not too far ahead of Shay Given or Brad Friedel. Chelsea’s Petr Cech fails to make the top 50 and is one behind Burnley’s Brian Jensen in 55th, while England hopeful Robert Green is struggling on the back of West Ham’s poor start to the season and languishes in 135th place.

It was supposed to be a very calm weekend in the Premier League except for the match at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea showed why they are billed by many as the team to beat this year in the Premier League. The team of 30+ men, showed that experience counts in crucial ties and notched a 2-0 victory against the Reds. Full marks to Terry, Essien and Drogba (only for those 2 moments of brilliance) for sticking it up when it matters the most. Terry had Torres’ number and did not let the Spanish forward get anywhere near the goal. Essien the machine, worked like crazy at the centre of the park and neutralised the Mascheranos and Gerrards of Liverpool. Drogba is an insult to the footballing world, when he goes down tamely and play acts. But he is the best guy forward when he overcomes the physical challenges and brushes aside defenders like Carragher. Hilario also had a decent match considering the fact that he was supposed to be the weak link in this Chelsea team. Chelsea needs all these 3 points because, they are going to lose Drogba, Essien and Kalou in January for the AFC tournament, so best of luck to them

Lets not talk too much about Liverpool. Questions have been asked about why Benayoun is not starting and what is that Lucas Leiva doing in the team in the first place. 14 million pounds for Glen Johnson is a disaster waiting to happen. Saw this interesting comment in Phil McNulty’s Blog in BBC. Cannot agree more:

Xabi Alonso gets better with every game he doesn’t play for Liverpool, while the pressure on Alberto Aquilani to deliver grows with every day he edges towards eventual fitness.

Manchester United did what they do best when they are not winning – blame the referee. I mean it was an insult to the entire refereeing fraternity, when AF accused the ref of not being fit to handle a match of such nature. I think United were not equipped to handle Sunderland in the first place. They were plain lucky to get a point out of this match. They miss Ronaldo. There were atleast 3-4 free-kicks which were in the Ronaldo zone which would have been goals or atleast tested the goalkeeper. I think United will lose more games this season.

Well the team that impressed the most were the Gunners. 10/10 performance from captain Cesc. The concern would be the goals conceded and the fraility of the defence at times. But I am sure Wenger is working on that aspect. But there is no team in Europe which can have the attacking flair of Arshavin, Cesc, Rosicky, van Persie, Eduardo, Bendtner and Walcott. Do not forget Samir Nasri and Carlos Vela who would be back from injury soon. The only concern would be Song and Eboue’s absence during the AFC cup. Song would be missed, but I think we have Denilson, Diaby and Ramsey to do that job. You can read more about the Arsenal match review here

Due dei protagonisti difensivi del Chelsea hanno rilasciato dichiarazioni a proposito della vittoria di domenica sul Liverpool.

Il secondo portiere Hilario e il difensore centrale Ricardo Carvalho sono stati fondamentali per tenere i Reds alla larga in occasione del meritato successo per 2-0 che abbiamo ottenuto a Stamford Bridge.

E’ stata la prima volta da febbraio che il portiere portoghese è partito titolare in un incontro di campionato, ma è stato capace di una prestazione perfetta che ha incluso una parata all’ultimo minuto su tiro al volo di Steven Gerrard.

“Sono contento di aver potuto vedere quando ha colpito la palla, altrimenti non ce l’avrei mai fatta e sono contento anche perché abbiamo ottenuto i tre punti,” ha detto il 33enne portiere.

“Chiaramente è importante, soprattutto perché giocavamo in casa. Nelle due ultime stagioni sono convinto che abbiamo perso il titolo perché non abbiamo vinto molti incontri casalinghi, quindi anche questo è importante.”

Carvalho, 31 anni, è stato contentissimo per come il suo compatriota ha sostituito Petr Cech.

“Non è semplice affrontare grandi squadre ma lui ha dimostrato di essere pronto, come sempre, e Petr aveva parlato con lui prima della partita,” ha detto il difensore.

“Siamo stati più forti rispetto alle due ultime uscite e questa partita è molto importante per noi. E’ stato importante vincere in casa contro una grande squadra, abbiamo dimostrato di essere forti e di poter lottare per i primi posti.”

“E’ sempre dura giocare contro il Liverpool, di norma non ti lasciano molte opportunità e non subiscono molti gol, a parte l’anno scorso, quindi devi segnare per acquisire sicurezza, e dopo che l’abbiamo fatto ci siamo difesi bene,” ha aggiunto.

In questo modo il Liverpool rimane sei punti indietro dopo questo nostro allungo e con sole otto giornate di Premier League disputate, ma Carvalho insiste sul fatto che non dobbiamo ancora badare troppo alla classifica.

“E’ troppo presto per pensare a quei sei punti,” ha spiegato. “E’ meglio stare davanti che dietro ed è sempre importante battere una rivale diretta, ma è troppo presto per parlare, mancano troppi incontri, quindi dobbiamo andare avanti partita dopo partita.”
