Rocawear hip hop clothing has grown from strength to strength over the past nine years and is available worldwide with them being sold online. Many aspiring rappers and hip hop fanatics are fans of the fashion range buying jeans and jackets from Rocawear Clothing. Out here in L.A. heads are convinced that they dictate trends, this is not exclusive to any particular genre, and hip hop fashion is very much included in this dogmatism. Little do they know that pretty much everything over here is a watered down version of what NYC has been doing for months, if not years. Take for one this “west coast” fashion trend of skinny jeans and familiar fluorescent 80’s retro. While the New Boyz are getting caked out via their hit single “you’re a jerk”, that is much ado about the aesthetics of the group rather than the content, over in NYC The Galaxy Riders aka The Alien Crew done did that image in ‘06. Mind you TGR are not rappers, though your average white guy on the street wouldn’t be able to make that distinction. What they are is a fashion collective that is heavily influenced by two things: retro hip hop and New York City. Society as a whole generally follows whatever fashion is the mainstream trend at that specific time. There are few individuals that go out of their way to be different from others. A persons fashion can be their identity that distinguishes him from the rest of the culture they are around. A person does not just simply wear clothing that is said to be popular and widely purchased. It is important that when people choose their clothing; the chosen clothes look good and fit well. PHILADELPHIA – Police in Philadelphia say a white officer who came to work with cornrows was ordered by a black superior to get a haircut because the braids violated department standards.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday that Officer Thomas Strain was put on desk duty this month because of the braids, even though the paper reported dozens of black officers wear cornrows.

“They pulled him out of roll call and took him right up to the inspector’s office,” said an officer who asked to remain anonymous.

Reached last week, Strain declined to comment to the paper about the hair hubbub.

‘Professional’ look
Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore says Strain’s boss told the officer to cut his hair to look more “professional.”

Vanore says officers’ hats must fit “in a military manner” over their hair, and that Strain’s hat did not. Strain got a haircut; he declined comment to the paper.

Interviewed by the Daily News, Vanore said he couldn’t explain why black officers with cornrows weren’t ordered to get haircuts — unless they’re women. The policy for female officers is slightly more permissive, he said.

Friends, according to the newspaper, described Strain as a hardworking cop who hails from a family of police officers and who adores police work.

The former Marine served in Iraq, where he twice survived explosions when his Hummer hit roadside bombs in 2006, co-workers said.

“He’s a guy that, when things go bad, you want him there,” the officer told the paper.

At Fashion Week in Milan 09: Let me higher elavate his ego:..great coat and jeans!

Seriously this group is swaggerific.I just invented that word I think. But then again, with a name like Brisk Convergence, you have to own up to it.  Each individual had that unique individuality that I just can’t put a finger on. The rest of you are just going to be swagger-jacking. I just know it. I have my police force out on patrol. Enjoy until you get caught. 

Out to put the funk in style.

Dsquared Men's Spring 2009

The Dsquared Men’s Spring 2009 Collection was all about the glory days of 80’s Hip Hop. I found the collection to be refreshing, fun, and very cool. Gold rope chains, boom-boxes, high top sneakers, and gym socks were all the rage. The style may be a bit on the “specialty” side of dressing, but the woven shirts, polo’s and leather jackets are all updated classics, and can easily find there way in any mans wardrobe.

If gladiators listened to hip hop, I’m sure they’d be digging Baby’s Phat’s new Ayana sandal. I scored a pair while venturing the craziness that is DSW a few weeks back, and I’ve had trouble keeping them off my feet ever since. I have to make a conscious effort not to wear them more than three times a week otherwise I might ruin my shoe cred. This is not as damaging as losing your street cred, but equally embarrassing.

In the past, Baby Phat was never on my radar,  but these glam-tastic glads have changed my opinion of the brand—the jury is still out on Kimora Lee Simmons. They easily transition between day and night, making them the perfect summer accessory. Wear them with capris to a beach shindig, or match them with a cotton dress for a casual night out. WOW, these are…. erm…. loud?

I have to admit, this is the first time that I have actually done layouts for press books seriously, and it took me some time but I think im starting to get the hang of it.  As you can see, the spread below is a poster style, not exactly what the professor asked for, but I still think it works a bit…and its my first design (I think that you can tell where things start getting better as I progressed).

I know that this particular photograph has nothing to do with the concept of couples photography but I thought that you would like to see what a gangsta Oompa Loompa looks like.  And may I add:

Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-do,I got a gangter Oompa Loompa for you, Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-dee, if you are wise you’ll listen to me. 

This just ain’t the your typical cat, he’s liable to hit you with a bat, when your on the ground he’ll say “What you think of that!!!”  What do you think will come of that… I don’t like the look of it .

Tommy Hilfiger was one of the most prominent brand in 1990s sportswear, though Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Nautica, and DKNY were also popular. When Snoop Doggy Dogg wore a Hilfiger sweatshirt during an appearance on Saturday Night Live, it sold out of New York City stores the next day. Hilfiger’s popularity was due to its perceived waspiness, which made it seem exclusive and aspirational. Moreover, Hilfiger courted the new hip hop market: black models featured prominently in the company’s advertising campaigns, and rappers like Puffy and Coolio walked during its runways shows.

Other brands, such as FUBU, Ecko Unlimited, Mecca USA, Lugz, Rocawear, harputs by Gus Harput, Boss Jeans by IG Design, and Enyce, arose to capitalize on the market for urban streetwear.^[7] They followed in Hilfiger’s footsteps by manufacturing all-American styles emblazoned with huge logos.

Bling bling will always be part of hip-hop fashion, that’s why some fashion designer are encourage to make jewelries or bling blings. Now a new bling bling has born, they are called grillz, which you will put on your teeth.

Japanese Hip Hop:

The Teriyaki Boyz, one of the famous Japanese Hip Hop group. They become famous, when they do the Soundtrack of the movie “Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift”.

Korean Hip Hop :

Big Bang - a very known all male hip hop group in Korea, then there’s Hip Hop / RnB artist Hyori Lee

Philippine Hip Hop:

The Filipino pride, The Philippine all-star. They are very know for their achievement in world hip hop challenge. And also Mr. Francis Magalona, who’s very known as the Master Rapper, is one of the reason Hip Hop is born in the Philippines.
