Hip Hop Official finishes up the year with Houston native (LA resident) cARTer; dude has a lot to say but definitely is a guy with a vision and the know how to get where he wants to go.

I hope people aren’t faking on my mans. One of the illest artists to come out in recent years….hands down. Shouts out to Hip Hop Official to honoring dude.

Fash’s Boy Meets World, which hits shelves October 20th. I hope you’ll do the right thing (no Spike Lee) and cop it, ’cause I will.

This week around, The Knux get the tip for HHO’s Artist of the week. The brothers speak on their upcoming album, Pop Killer, as well as the biggest misconceptions about the group. also on hip hop’s infatuation with “street cred.”

hip hop official’s late with this one. the knux is by far one of the best duos since outkast. yup, i said it. remind me in 3 days was one of the dopest records of last year and i can only see them going up from here.

Tomorrow is the day that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 drops, are you ready? I will be purchasing the album on my break in between classes tomorrow morning, and I will be bumping it for the rest of the day repeatedly. Hip Hop Official had the chance to sit down with The Chef and talk about all of the blood sweat and tears that went into OB4CL2. Rae talks about a lot of the things that hindered his ability to make this album, and why it has taken so long. Much like Ghost said in one of my previous posts, The Wu isn’t broken up, they are just in a lot of different pieces right now. The Chef also discusses that he made Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 for the people, because that’s what they wanted. He also mentions that more artists should be doing what the fans want (co-sign).

The Jurassic 5 MC (and the dude with one of the dopest voices in Hip Hop) is recruited to be HHO’s Artist of the Week this time around. Above he speaks on his main goals in crafting his solo album and how his son has inspired his music.

While hanging out with HipHopOfficial DJ Khalil runs through a break down of the Clipse’s single, Kinda Like A Big Deal.

Gotta shout out 2DopeBoyz for this one. This is a video of Fashawn & Exile performing in the Hip Hop Official studios when they were the artist of the week. The track is called “The Score”, and of course you can expect it to be on Fash’s upcoming album Boy Meets World. Notice that Exile completely tears up the turntables and his beat in the background goes hard as hell. Boy Meets World is definitely an album that I am highly anticipating.

Not in regular fashion (but so necessary) comes 2 artist’s of the week in HHO’s series. The duo behind the classic in the making (yeah, I said it), Boy Meets World, Fashawn & Exile.

This is dope; I don’t know Fashawn personally but I really enjoy his music, I do know Exile though and he vouches for him so he must be a good guy along with a quality up and coming artist in the West Coast scene. Once again Hip Hop Official gets it right for their weekly feature. Be sure to cop Boy Meets World when it drops not too far down the track.

I was just talking with a couple buddies today about Crooked I. I feel like I have slept on this dude for soooo long, and now I’m paying for it. Crooked I might be one of the nastiest emcees I’ve ever heard with wordplay. I was telling my buddy Motz today that I don’t even think it’s fair that Crooked gets to rhyme because he’s so good. Every time that I listen to the Slaughterhouse record it seems like more often than not his verses stick out like crazy. Crooked I is known for his connection with Death Row, and his Hip Hop Weekly tracks where he released a track every week of the year for a year. This guy is a fucking beast on the microphone, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone quite like him. Do yourself a favor, watch this video and click the Hip Hop Weekly link and be amazed.

Congratulations to Hip Hop Official’s artist of the week, B.o.B.; one of the most talented people involved with hip hop today. He raps, sings, produces, plays guitar, plays piano, etc. etc. If you haven’t heard, you’re missing out.
