MP8,9,10,11,etc… Assim são chamados os celulares chineses que hoje estão tomando conta da internet e de algumas lojas e camelôs do Brasil e do mundo. Mas você sabe o que realmente são, o que fazem, quais suas características, funcionalidades, benefícios ( se é que possuem ), e como funcionam? Pois bem, neste Post vou comentar um pouco sobre estas imitações de smartphones que estão roubando mercado das marcas tradicionais de aparelhos celulares e trazendo muita dor de cabeça aos seus consumidores.

Você compraria um Honda Civic 2009 com motor de Fusca 79 e interior de Uno Mille 96? Pois é isso que são os MP11, carcaças atraentes com processadores ridículos e falsificações de sistemas operacionais que não oferecem as mesmas funcionalidades que os smartphones originais. Como você se sentiria? Comprando o tal Honda Civic 2009 e andando pela primeira vez descobre que o carro é 1.0, não tem ar-condicionado, nem direção hidráulica, nem painel digital com computador de bordo, alarme com interface, e todas as outras características que fazem o Honda Civic valer o preço que tem!

Se nossos smartphones são caros, não é a toa. Os valores são altos devido às suas funcionalidades, aos seus potentes processadores, à facilidade de fazer instalações de aplicativos, conexão à redes 2G e 3G, e principalmente à sua segurança na utilização e a garantia oferecida pela fabricante em caso de defeito.

Os celulares Made-in China não passam de imitações que tem o simples objetivo de enganar usuários que não sabem o que é um smartphone de verdade, e também quem não tem dinheiro para comprar um smartphone original e de boa qualiadade. Afinal, todos querem um Honda Civic, mas nem todos tem grana para comprar um! Mas se a imitação serve na hora tudo bem, e depois???

Não é muito difícil identificar uma cópia, o problema é que temos muitos vendedores da internet colocando as fotos e características dos aparelhos originais, quando chega em sua casa vem a surpresa! Apesar do sistema operacional ser parecido, suas funções são totalmente limitadas, reproduzindo MP3, uma câmera que por mais Megapixels tenha continua a ser muito ruim, um navegador que suporta apenas páginas WAP, não permitem instalações de aplicativos e não possuem suporte às tecnologias EDGE e 3G, somente GPRS ( a mais lenta para conexões ).

É claro que possuem algumas coisas que nossos smartphones originais não possuem, como receptor de TV analógico e o mais tentador que é o suporte para dois Sim Cards. Hoje já existem aparelhos de grandes marcas com recursos de TV integrado, que possuem uma ótima qualidade de imagem comparado a um celular ChingLing. Em relação ao suporte para dois Sim Cards, você vai me perguntar: Isso é muito bom, se é tão bom porque as grandes marcas não adotam este recurso em seus aparelhos? Pois não haverá interesse das operadoras em comprar estes aparelhos, imagine a operadora lhe vendendo um celular quase de graça ( com um plano é lógico ) para você usar o Sim card de outra operadora junto! As grandes marcas não fabricam pois as operadoras não iriam comprar, o que resultaria em dinheiro jogado fora.

Como se tratam de imitações, a maior parte é fabricado ilegalmente, não obedecendo as normas de segurança para emissão de microondas eletromagnéticas ( estas normas fazem que o seu celular não ferva o seu cérebro, lhe causando muitos problemas como um câncer ou um tumor ), e também não possuem um IMEI ( padrão número de série mundial ) válido, causando problemas para os usuários, revendedores, e fabricantes.

A aparência básica é variável, mas alguns recursos são predominantes nos aparelhos chineses:

- Suporte à MP3, AAC ou WAV

- Suporte à vídeos 3GP de baixa resolução

- Leitor de arquivos somente TXT

- Agenda, calculadora e outras coisas que até o Nokia 5120 possuia.

- Tela com Touchscreen

- Não se pode instalar aplicativos

- Câmera de 640×480, cuja qualidade tanto faz se é 1.3 ou 5.0 megapixels, a imagem vai ser ruim do mesmo jeito.

- Receptor de TV analógico

- Suporte Dual Sim ( 2 Chips )

Mas como eles conseguem fazer uma interface de sistema operacional tão parecido com o original? 98% destes aparelhos utilizam a plataforma MTK OS, que permite a modificação da interface com facilidade, isso deu origem às imitações como o aparelho que tem cara de Iphone e sistema operacional com cara de Symbian ( Nokia ). O MTK OS é tão simples que permite que estes aparelhos sejam fabricados com chips de memória Flash de 4MB, o que disponibiliza ao usuário menos de 1MB para armazenamento. Ainda bem que alguns possuem entrada para cartão de memória, mas também não vamos muito longe neste quesito pois o cartão pode ser de no máximo 2GB.

Agora estão sendo lançados também, aparelhos chineses com um processador mais potente e maior memória RAM, o que permite que sejam feitas cópias idênticas de Windows Mobile por exemplo. Alguns até apresentam as funções de Wi-fi e GPS, mas continuam com muitas limitações, por exemplo as conexões somente em GPRS, 3G só se for 3G Chinês. E claro, estes modelos são mais caros que os outros mais simples.

Vamos agora olhar para as grandes e famosas fabricantes, elas investem milhões e até bilhões em pesquisas e desenvolvimento de novos aparelhos e softwares, oferecem produtos de qualidade, garantia, suporte técnico e pagam muito em impostos para poderem ser o que são hoje. Nada que é pirata é legal, tanto jurídica como moralmente falando. Imagine o prejuízo que nossas fabricantes estão tendo com estas cópias, perdendo vendas e sujando sua marca, e o pior ainda é o prejuízo para os países que permitem a comercialização destes produtos, que perdem bilhões pois como são ilegais, são isentos de impostos.

Se mesmo o seu aparelho que você pagou caro, ou paga um plano caro para tê-lo, pode estragar da noite para o dia, o que diríamos dos Chineses? E o suporte? E a assistência técnica? Sinto muito, mas se estragar, jogue fora e compre outro. Não posso esquecer de dizer que temos fabricantes na China que são respeitáveis, pois possuem sua própria marca, seu sistema operacional e seus próprios modelos, sejam bons ou ruins, mas são legais, um bom exemplo é a ZTE que também fabrica modems 3G.

Para terminar, como não existe restrição, e nem vergonha dos revendedores, os celulares ChingLing são vendidos abertamente em todos os lugares, 80% deles é anunciado abertamente como cópia e com os logos das suas reais fabricantes. O problema está nos 20% que são anunciados como originais, com características e fotos dos aparelhos de verdade.Portanto tome muito cuidado, principalmente se for comprar um smartphone na internet. Desconfie do preço, muito abaixo do mercado ou é cópia ou é usado! Pergunte sobre as funções do aparelho, se possui caixa ( embalagem ), manual, acessórios, CD de instalação, etc… Pergunte se todos estes itens estão em Português, se for espanhol, caia fora!

I have recently purchased one of these knock of wonders, so expect a review soon, but from a purely aesthetical (looks for my readers from Birmingham… if any) standpoint, awe-some, the Wow Starts Now!

Do iPhone ao pen drive, a China copia tudo e domina a fabricação de gadgets do mundo.

Segunda-feira, dez e quinze da noite. Enquanto espera um amigo, você saca a antena de TV do seu iPhone de 16 GB para ver o programa CQC. O amigo chega, mas você não precisa perder a piada no meio. É só acionar a função de gravação do smartphone e assistir depois. Ops, tem algo estranho nesse iPhone que grava vídeos e exibe TV aberta.

Bem-vindo à era do shanzhai. A cópia chinesa, o HiPhone, tem recursos que ainda são uma miragem no original da Apple — pela pechincha de 250 reais. A interface tosca, a tela multitoque xing ling e os 16 GB que na verdade são apenas 1 GB logo entregam a imitação. “Tudo na China é falsificado e essa duplicação de produtos não é apenas um incidente. É algo profundamente ligado à cultura do país.”

Com esse argumento, um artigo produzido dentro da Universidade de Pequim pelo acadêmico Wang Hongzhe (no melhor estilo xing ling, ele assinou com o pseudônimo de Steven Zuckerberg, um professor americano), acirrou a discussão.

Como o país que produz quase todo o hardware dos aparelhos mais badalados do mundo, entre eles o próprio iPhone, pode ser também o cérebro por trás do HiPhone e companhia ilimitada? A resposta é dada em chinês: shanzhai. O termo, que literalmente significa fortaleza na montanha, serve de grife para as precárias fabriquetas espalhadas pelo delta do Rio das Pérolas, no sudeste da China. Elas produzem em grande escala todo tipo de produtos, quase sempre com preços baixíssimos e controle de qualidade nulo.

China is the piracy capital of the world, everybody knows. The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) estimates that 46 percent of the pirated goods sold in America come from China. The pirated audiovisual materials account for 95 percent of the market in large cities, and the Business Software Alliance (BSA) claims that software piracy in China alone costs the industry $4 billion a year worldwide. Almost everything that can be imitated has been imitated by Chinese companies, and the iPhone is not an exception.

Do you know the HiPhone or the SciPhone? They where the first iPhone clones coming from China. Looking almost identical to a real iPhone from the outside, they had serious hardware limitations, and from the point of view of software and usability, they were fairly pathetic. But Chinese engineers had more time to work on their imitations, and new clones are becoming more and more believable, to the point where it’s almost frightening. If you do not believe me, take a look at the new iPhome 3G (with an “m” instead of an “n”).

A Apple comemora os dois anos de vida do iPhone lançando a terceira versão do aparelho.

Lançado na última sexta-feira, dia 19 de junho, o iPhone 3GS já vendeu mais de um milhão de unidades (US$ 199,00 + plano bianual com a AT&T).

O mais legal do i Phone, não é só a facilidade no seu manuseio, a intuitividade do sistema, o visual bacana, o estilo, o fato de ter o iPod agregado, os softwares etc. Há um ano, mais ou menos, a Apple lançou a App Store, a ‘lojinha’ virtual de aplicativos para o iPhone, cheia de aplicativos (duh!), pagos ou gratuitos, para deixá-lo mais turbinado e legal.

Numa zapeada no rádio, enquanto ia para a faculdade, peguei um pedaço de uma reportagem na Band News FM em que falavam que a concorrência (no segmento celular, claro) tentou, mas não conseguiu fazer algo igual ao iPhone. Só parecido e olhe lá. Aqui em Sampa a gente vê circulando por aí o hiPhone (figura abaixo), uma versão xing ling do aparelho da Apple. Até a caixa é igual!

Aliás, a Band News disponibilizou na mesma App Store um aplicativo para ouvir as rádios da rede no iPhone.

O aparelho é tão legal (eu tenho um, tá!) que até o Taliban se rendeu ao gadget (foto no início do post). O mullah Abdul Sallam Zaeef, ex-embaixador do Taliban, apareceu em fotos de uma entrevista recente usando o aparelhinho.

Como muitos dos Black’s são feitos em Shenzen(pólo “tecnológico chinês”) mesmo, não é nada dificil por uma carcaça dessa no iPhone xing ling.

i68: i68, i9, i68+, i9+. So whats the difference? Not a whole heck of alot. The all have the black front, silver back. They support to 8 GB of memory, and java app installation.

The i68+ Sciphone is currently the newest (May 09) of the i68s. That being said, there are different variations of it, and different manufacturers making clones of it. I will go over a few of the variations. If you are planning to buy one, make sure they can tell you which one. There are differences that will make you love or hate the phone.

Sciphone i68+ 1 page menu: This is the tried and true i68, the original. I have found this phone to be more reliable than the i9s (except the CECT i9 with the black batteries…hard to find). It has all your basic clone features, decent sound/video quality, picture turnover, shake and tilt, etc.

Sciphone i68+ 3 page menu: So far this is my favorite i68+. It has all the original features but adds a few new ones, including a 3 page menu with many added shortcuts. You cannot add icons to the menus, but you can move the icons around by long pressing on them, then dragging. It adds alot of games, including some NES games such as Contra. It also has added apps. Many of the apps and games are in Chinese so pointless of course.

One cool thing about the phone is the location that your installed apps will appear. On other models you have to scroll through all the Chinese crap to find your installed apps at the very bottom. This is annoying. On this model, apps you have installed will have there own dedicated spot that they sit. This is more convenient than you think.

This phone has added bluetooth printing capability, and webcam function depending on manufacture. This was available on some older models but less common. It has the “slide to browse” so that scrolling through pics is easy. It has the picture turnover feature that works in all 4 directions. Also has the zoom feature by sliding across the picture. (like the iPhone, but slower)

The firmware on the 3page i68 seems to be the best. The “flow-touch” like feature seems to be the most responsive that Ive seen. It also appears that they have finally added a faster processor. I will have double check, as it may just be the firmware that has improved it. The picture seems slightly improved over previous versions and also a bit better than the i9.

Most of the other features are the same as the other phones. Mainly the quality and thought that went into this version has turned it into my favorite of the i68, i9 family.

Sciphone i68+ 5 page menu: This is by far my least favorite of the i68s. The features from the previous version are still here but it has added some very annoying ones too. You think 5 pages is better right? Not when there are all full of useless Chinese apps and games. You cannot even remove or add any icons. Some pages only have 1 icon so what is the point. 5 pages would be awesome if you could add icons and shortcuts to them for your own installed apps. But sadly no, the Chinese have put little thought into this “upgrade”.

The other thing about this phone is the touch vibration feature or the “pen down vibration” as it is called in other models. It cannot be turned off in this model without changing firmware. I have been round and round with my distributor as they say it can be turned off..not true. They tell me to try this and go here and do that. I have been through every inch of the phone, even engineering and factory mode. It is not removable. If you’re not familiar with this feature, basically every time you touch the screen it vibrates. It is very annoying and drains the battery too fast.

So to sum it up, this model is not really an upgrade from the 3 page, its really a disappointment. Anytime they get one mostly right, they do something to mess it up.

If you want an i68+ try and find the 3 page i68+. You will be happier with it than the other two, I assure you.

While Apple has yet to reach a deal with any of China’s telecoms to distribute its iPhone, the cellular black marketeers have sprung up to fill the void. It looks like the iPhone. It works like the iPhone. It even says “iPhone” on it. But it’s not an iPhone. It’s a Hi-Phone!

The New York Times recently did a great piece on black market cellphones, or “shanzhai” cell phones. According to the Times, it costs about $40 to make one of these knockoff cell phones. The best retail offer I could find for a Hi-Phone was around 600 kuai, or about 90 bucks.

While these lookalikes are decidedly not iPhones, they actually have some considerable functionalities that the JesusPhone lacks. They’ve got removable batteries. They can accommodate two SIM cards. They have expandable storage. The phones are not locked to any provider. They even come in “Mini” sizes!

And they really do work. While the interface isn’t as sleek as Apple’s polished product, the touchscreen does respond to taps, swipes and even pinches. I touched the camera app and was able to take pictures.

Still, the sales people got a little testy when I started snapping too many pictures and I had one clerk snatch the demo product away from my prying lens and hands. While the Chinese authorities have yet to respond to these illegal counterfeits, legitimate Chinese handset makers are complaining about their underground, and untaxed, competition. In the mean time thousands of vendors unabashedly hock these phones everyday in broad daylight. So if the iPhone is too expensive for you, just let me know.

Çin’de son dönemlerin en çok satılan telefonu iPhone değil Hi-Phone.

Telefonun modeline bakınca son dönemlerin çok satan bir telefonuna çok benziyor,   hatta utanmadan marka logosu bile çok benziyor. Fakat bu elmanın hiçbir yeri ısırılmamış. Gerçekten büyük farklılık getirmiş Çinliler bu konuda.

Çin Endüstri ve Enformasyon Teknolojisi Bakanlığı birkaç hafta önce Çin yapımı telefonların radyasyon oranını aştığını belirtriler. Bundan bi süre sonra da 45 yaşındaki bir Çinlinin cep telefonunun cebinde patlaması sonucu vücudunda çeşitli yanıklar oluştu. Ama buna rağmen Çin yapımı telefonlara ilgi azalmıyor.

En az iPhone kadar iyi olduğu söylenen, ama fiyat olarak ondan çok daha ucuz olduğu için telefon büyük rağbet görüyor.

Şangay yapımı telefonların Orta Doğu, Avrupa, Rusya, Hindistan’a hatta Amerika’ya bile illegal yollardan sokuluyor. Çin telefon pazarının dışa doğru büyük bir büyüme trendi yakaladığı gözüküyor.

The i9 is, or was at one time, the most popular of the clones. It has a very sleek appearance and is slimmer than the older p168. It is very close in appearance to the iPhone differing in only the back of the phone. It has a black and silver two tone back that is also more flat than the iPhone.

The i9 offers Java support, and memory support up to 8 GB. It has the added picture turnover function, “shake and tilt” function, and is Quad band. It also has the dual sim active feature which is really cool, for the right person. Where other clones were only dual sim standby, this one is now for the most part, dual sim active. (I’ll explain “for the most part” in a minute) Dual sim active means that you can use both sim cards at once and not have to switch between the two.

Most other clones are adding this feature but it is not always there, or not as advertised, or just doesn’t work altogether. It really depends on what company actually made the phone…

Which brings me to what I meant when I said “..for the most part..” The i9 is probably the most cloned clone. By this I mean that you never know what you’re gonna get when you get an i9. On occasion you will actually get one made by CECT, but not too often. CECT has the best quality phones of any of the China clones. But just because you think you’re ordering a Cect i9, does not mean that is what you’re going to get. You will most likely get a clone of a Cect i9.

This may not be an issue as I have had many i9s that weren’t CECT that I never had a problem with. Its hard for me, though, to rely on it has a good phone because I have had so many defective i9s. Id say, in my experince, about 40% of i9s I received were junk.

It was either a faulty speaker, non responsive touchscreen, or just plain DOA, or D shortly thereafter.

The phone has most of the features that people are looking for but the quality is just not there. Here are the major points of the i9:

• Dual Sim Active
• Picture Turnover function (does not always work though)
• Tilt and shake (also does not always work)
• supports up to 8 GB memory (usually its close anyway)
• Java support/App installation (pretty reliable, not all apps work though)
• Flow-Touch type firmware (only some newer models have this, it really depends on the manufacturer)
• Decent speakers
• Touchscreen is not really sensitive (CECT models have pretty responsive screens though)
• Very low life expectancy

As you can see the i9 is a hit or miss investment. You may or may not get a good one. To me, it is only worth a shot if you pay no more than a hundred dollars for it. My advice to those that really think they want an i9 is buy it off e-Bay from a Chinese seller with the lowest price and best feedback. Make sure to ask them that is  the i9 that you’re buying, and not something different. Chinese descriptions are lacking to say the least.

In this post I will talk about my favorite of the clones:

p168: This is by far the most reliable of all the cloned phones. It is also however the one with the fewest features. It does not have java support. Max supported memory is 2GB. It is only tri-band where as the others are quad band. If you see a p168 that says it has Java, be leary. There is a version of the p168 that has Java. Most call it the p168c+. This version is prone to failure as the quality is sub-standard. The p168c is the best version I have seen. The screen is beautiful and crisp. The quality is excellent. I have never seen one fail. The best things about the p168 include:

• Very beautiful, responsive touchscreen
• Very easy to use virtual keyboard makes texting easy. This keyboard is the closest to the iPhone’s keyboard.
• Quality/Durability. I have bought and sold hundreds of these and never had to send one back for warranty.
• Sound quality. This phone has 6 speakers that sound wonderful at the right level. There is such a thing as too loud though, as which anything will be distorted when turned up too loud.

There are a few drawbacks to this phone. Very few though:

• No app installation. No java means no apps. Thats a bummer because to me that’s what makes smart phones like the iPhone so attractive. If the quality improves on the p168c+ then I will definitely be purchasing and reviewing it.
• Memory restriction: Only supports up to 2 GB. This is only a drawback if you want movies on your phone.
• Size: It is the bulkiest of the clones, kind reminiscant of an old calculator.

One thing to think about is that even though a phone may have a certain model number such as “p168″, it can be made by many different companies. I have had them sent to me with various “brand names” but all the same model numbers. Occasionally the features are even slightly different. You must keep in mind that you may be getting a clone of a clone. Most China companies will send you whats available, and that may be different every time.

This being said, it is still the most reliable of the clones, no matter what company produced it.

Computer Festival is currently held in Hong Kong. This annual event attracts almost million of people to spend their money there buying heavily discounted electronic gadgets and computer related products. People are spending over 1-2 billions of HK$ every year. To cope with the rising volume of visitors, the event is held in one of biggest shopping centers, Mega Box, this year.

And one of the hottest topics is that Hiphone, which imitates the iPhone in large extent, is very hot selling in the festival. There are news that Apple is very concerned about their products being copied and may take actions against the booths which sell this.

The Hiphone costs only about 1/4 to 1/5 of the price of iPhone 3G 8gb.
