This piece is in duple meter with very fast tempo. This piece has about three different timbres with different rhythmic movements. They are a guitar, a shaker, a hand drum, and two voice lines. In this piece, down beats are played very strong. All the beats are strongly accented and sound like staccato. It was more evidence more in the beginning of this piece. It was more legato during the chorus of this piece.

Melody line has a medium vocal range. He is very conjunct during the verses, but it shows disjunctive motion during the chorus line of this piece. When I was hearing this piece I thought the melody tune was repetitive and using the similar pronounced words throughout this piece made me to think that way more. Background singers join during the concert. I believe they are closer to constant harmony rather than dissonant.

This piece has multiple layers of timbres. Like many of African music, they are in different rhythms; however, they are not as syncopated as African music. They are more structured in the meter system with the stronger beats on the down beats. It was hard for me to the find the rhythmically similarity between this piece and pieces from Africa.

I can see that this piece was very repetitive once again from watching the video. Their dance movements were well organized and had repetitive motions. This piece seems to be a dance piece and it sounds like one too. The upbeat and the fast tempo even make me to feel the rhythm and tab my fingers.

Chapter 14 : The Culture of Journalism This chapter is pretty much a thirty-page summary of the

Chapter 14 : The Culture of Journalism

This chapter is pretty much a thirty-page summary of the ‘News About The News’ book. It covers a lot of the same issues – when to run a story, privacy vs. the public’s right to know, other ethical issues, etc.

- the Richard Jewell incident. This is probably why news anchors and journalists nowadays are very careful to say ‘alleged’ before talking about anyone suspected (but not yet convicted) of a crime. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be hounded night and day by the press for two months about a crime you had actually tried to prevent – Jewell had spotted the bomb before it had gone off and tried to clear people away from it. If he hadn’t, the death toll would probably have been much higher.

- The two examples given in the book of papers that had reporters fabricate stories are the NY Times and the Washington Post, two of the most reputable papers in the country. Kinda makes you wonder how widespread something like this is and if reporters for smaller, less-known papers do this as well and get away with it.

Chapter 15 : Media Effects

- this chapter addresses something that I’d noticed many, many people have hinted at: the idea that everyone who watches TV does so passively, without questioning or even thinking about what is being said. Some people who don’t know any better, like young children, do this but I think most of the adult population in the US does not. Turns out the textbook agrees with me!

- Isn’t the point of those Bobo dolls to knock ‘em around? They bounce back when you hit them becuase they’re weighted on the bottom. It’s not like hurting an actual person, who doesn’t bounce back quite so easily from a punch to the stomach. I’m failing to see the signifigance of a study where a toy that was meant to be played with roughly by children was indeed played roughly by children. There’s not a lot you can do with a toy like that besides hit it.

Chapter 16 : Legal Controls

-The RIAA raiding a DJ’s studio with 20 cops and their M-16s is sadly typical of how that agency over-reacts.

- speaking as an animation major, the fact that the govenment keep extending copyright just when Mickey Mouse is about to enter the public domain sickens me slightly. Honestly, life of the author plus fifty is plenty. Anything more, you’re just getting greedy. Then, of course, the problem is that the Walt Disney Company is in the business of making money and losing the copyright to their corperate symbol would be a tremendous blow, but they should’ve found a solution to that problem without whining to the govenment for help.

- On the subject of obscenity, I think Tom Leher summed it up best (and the most melodically): All books can be indecent books/though recent books are bolder/For filth (I’m glad to say) is in/the mind of the beholder/When correctly viewed/Everything is lewd./I could tell you things about Peter Pan/And the Wizard of Oz, there’s a dirty old man!

- So explain to us about this newfangled MPAA rating system, Mr. Valenti.

- I’m a little shocked by the Mae West & Charlie McCarthy transcript. It is innuendo, but I suspect it would’ve gone over young listener’s heads, similar to how the innuendo in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ flew over mine when I first saw it. But 1937 was a different time, and keeping the mindset of the 1930s American public in mind while reading it, I can see why Mae West got in trouble for trying to seduce a puppet.

-Even though they were referring to politicans seeking equal airtime, the FCC ruling that the interview sections of TMZ counts as news is rather depressing.

上次介紹完英文打字, 今次就介紹中文打字喇.

呢個網入面有好多唔同嘅Tests, 俾我地去測試一下自己打中文嘅實力
http://sy2es.tnc.edu.tw/edu/keyin/chinese/chKeyinTest.htm

我覺得呢個網唔好係因為唔可以skip字打,

同埋要打嘅字都冇關係嘅, 點打得快先-,-
