I don’t remember how old I was. Maybe I was in grade 2nd or 3rd. But I know I was too young to do most things on my own without the help of my parents. Back in Riyadh, me and my family used to go to the American Embassy for Mass. There weren’t any churches in Saudi Arabia, so we had to go to the embassy since that is the only place in Saudi Arabia where no one can catch us practicing our religion.

As usual one day me and my family went for mass. Everything went on smoothly. The choir sang well. The priest gave a wonderful speech that I found boring (maybe I was too young to understand) and my parents found the speech very interesting. I saw everyone taking the host and took a sip of the wine from the cup (In US, the people gets the host from the priest and another person holds a cup with wine. All those who wants to have the host with wine can take a sip from the cup and this practice is not there in India).

“The mass has ended. You may all go in peace”. These were the last words spoken by the priest and then I guess I never wanted to go for a mass in an American Embassy or anything that relates to the Americans for just one reason.

I’m going to tell you what that reason is if you promise to keep my age or height or whatever it is in your mind before I tell you my reason. I mentioned before that I was too young to do most things on my own. So I was just a little boy and I need my mother by my side at all times.

Well, here goes…….

The American way

As soon as the mass ended I wanted to go to the rest room badly. That’s not a problem isn’t it? It’s a nature of a human being to dispose of whatever their eaten.  There’s a rest room in every home, in every work place and it was easy to find the rest room.

HAAAAAAA!!! The best part of the American restrooms is that, they are so shinny, neat and don’t stink like our Indian restrooms and it’s air conditioned. I took all my time and my mother from the other side of the door was screaming at me to come out.

Once I was done I looked for a hose pipe. Ok… That’s not there. I looked for a bucket… Ok… that too wasn’t there. I looked for a bloody tap….. What the… Where is the… O my God…. How the hell was I going to wash? There was this fear in me as if I was sitting on a time bomb that was going to blow up any minute. Which bloody restroom that doesn’t have a hose pipe or a bucket or at least a tap? I started to scream for my mother. She got so scared and came running to the door and asked what happened? I told her the reason. I not sure if I heard it properly but I think my mother was laughing with her hands covering her mouth. She said she will get a bucket and a mug for me.

I was inside a room that was the size of a telephone booth and it looked like hours since she finally showed up. She got a bucket with water and a mug. I was so happy to see a bucket with water inside it.

I was so glad once I opened the door and got out. I kept repeating these words, “Thank you ma. You saved me”.

The little believer

Once inside the car I asked my mother,” Where did you get the bucket from”.

She said this as a joke and I believed her,” I ran to the Indian embassy and asked the ambassador for a bucket of water and he gave it to me”.

The Indian Embassy is like almost 45 minutes to reach from the American Embassy if I am to go by car. I think after five years or so I still remembered this unfortunate incident and I asked my mom did you actually go to the Indian embassy and asked the ambassador for a bucket of water.

She just laughed and laughed…

Everyone saw him at the park, making out with that skanky blond who drools garlic mashed potatoes. It really hurt my feelings. And there’s only one thing that mends a broken heart: a half-pint of Häagen Dazs and  lighter fluid.

But, hey. You don’t have to worry about that. You look outside one day and it’s bright and sunny and the next day snow begins to cover the leaves you forgot to rake. That’s right, winter is just around the corner and you need to get your home ready.  So here’s your checklist!

Also check wood floors just inside patio and exit doors for signs of water entry. Probe through the carpet or check under the doors from the basement or crawl space area for signs of dampness. Look for rotting sub-flooring, floor joists and sill plates (the wood that rests on the foundation wall). If possible, check behind the insulation for signs of rotting or infestation. Vinyl floor covering can be discolored from mildew trapped between the vinyl and wet sub-flooring.

Caulk and seal around window and door openings. Fill cracks and openings in concrete drives, walks and patios.

Have the heating system and flue inspected by a qualified heating technician. It is very important to change or clean the furnace filter on a regular basis. If the furnace has a built-in humidifier, have the humidifier cleaned. Treat the humidifier each month during the heating season to resist mold growth inside the air system.

Have the chimney cleaned and inspected by a certified chimney sweep. Store fire wood two to three feet off the ground and away from the home’s foundation. Wood piles invite unwanted guests all year long.

Garden hoses should be drained and stored inside. If you have shut-offs for the outside hose faucets, they need to be closed for winter. Do not leave a garden hose connected to an outside faucet. Even an anti-freeze faucet will freeze and eventually leak if a hose is left connected all winter.

Drain the gasoline from lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc. Remove grass, dirt and all debris and store for winter. Stuff a paper towel in the gas tank, leaving enough of the towel exposed so the towel can later be removed. Store the equipment with the gas lid off. The tank has to be drained with no gasoline or gasoline fumes present before the paper towel is stuffed inside. The towel keeps the inside of the tank dry and ready for next spring. Never store gasoline or equipment containing gasoline inside the home, garage or basement.

Tính thanh khoản của thị trường tăng rõ rệt so với ngày hôm qua về cả giá trị lẫn khối lượng giao dịch. khối lượng giao dịch đạt 6.151 triệu đơn vị tương ứng với giá trị giao dịch 270.08 tỷ đồng.

Sang đợt giao dịch liên tục, thị trường xuất hiện một đợt rung lắc ở đầu phiên. nhà đầu tư bắt đầu bán cổ phiếu chốt lời nhưng đã không diễn ra tình trạng bán tháo. Đồng thời thị trường vẫn duy trì được lực cầu mạnh đã kéo thị trường tăng trở lại, có lúc thị trường vượt ngưỡng 560 khi đạt đỉnh 562.49 điểm. Tuy vậy áp lực bán vẫn tiếp tục diễn ra khiến cho thị trường đổ dốc ngay sau đó. Xét về tổng thể, diễn biến thị trường vẫn khá tích cực khi kết thúc phiên giao dịch với VN-Index tăng 0.23 điểm (+0.04%) đạt 556.98 điểm. Tính thanh khoản của thị trường có sự giảm nhẹ so với phiên trước đó khi chỉ đạt đạt 3,261 tỷ đồng giá trị giao dịch và 67.32 triệu đơn vị được khớp lệnh.

Thống kê thị trường đóng cửa có 69 mã tăng giá, 91 mã giảm giá và 14 mã giữ ở mức tham chiếu.

Ở sàn HNX, diễn biến thị trường cũng khá giằng co. Nhóm cổ phiếu tài chính-ngân hàng và vật liệu xây dựng là lực đỡ chủ yếu cho sự tăng điểm ngày hôm nay. Kết thúc phiên giao dịch, chỉ số HNX-Index tăng 1.59 điểm tương đương với 0.91% lên mức 174.87 điểm. Tính thanh khoản không khác biệt lớn so với ngày hôm qua khi đóng cửa thị trường có 41.59 triệu đơn vị được khớp lệnh, luồng vốn đổ vào thị trường đạt mức 1,511 tỷ đồng.

Thống kê thị trường cho thấy số mã tăng giá là 103, không nhiều hơn đáng kể so với 95 mã giảm giá và có 21 mã đứng giá.

Cổ phiếu tài chính ngân hàng “dậy sóng” trở lại

Trên hai sàn giao dịch chứng kiến sự tăng giá trở lại của nhóm cổ phiếu tài chính ngân hàng sau một thời gian dài trầm lặng. Trước đó, nhiều dự báo về cơ bản lẫn kỹ thuật cho rằng nhóm cổ phiếu này sẽ tăng điểm trở lại.

Sáng nay trên sàn HoSE, STB tăng trần trong ngày giao dịch không hưởng quyền trả cổ tức và phát hành thêm theo tỷ lệ 20:3. Các mã khác PVF, VCB, CTG… cũng theo gót STB tăng trần.

Trên HNX, các cổ phiếu ngân hàng tuy không đồng loạt tăng trần nhưng đều có mức tăng khá ấn tượng như mã ACB tăng 2,400 đồng/cp, SHB tăng 1,300 đồng/cp.

Nhóm cổ phiếu của các công ty chứng khoán ngày hôm nay cũng khá khởi sắc như CTS tăng 200 đồng/CP, KLS tăng 1,100 đồng/cp, HPC tăng 800 đồng/cp. Trên thị trường chỉ có SSI sau đợt đầu tăng trần trước áp lực bán mạnh đã đóng cửa ở mức tham chiếu. Hai mã HCM và BVS có sự điều chỉnh nhẹ.

Cổ phiếu xi măng tiếp tục hành trình tăng giá

Từ phiên giao dịch đầu tuần đến nay, nhóm cổ phiếu xi măng có đợt tăng trần phiên thứ 3 liên tiếp. Các mã HT1, HT2 trên sàn HoSE tiếp tục tăng trần với khối lượng dư mua lên trên 450,000 đơn vị và không có lệnh bán. Trường hợp tương tự cũng xảy ra đối với các mã như BCC, BTS, SCC trên sàn HNX.

Ngày hôm nay các mã cổ phiếu mới lên sàn vẫn tiếp tục đà tăng trần của mình như VPH, VNI, HLG.

Điểm đáng chú ý trên sàn HNX trong ngày hôm nay đó là nhóm cổ phiếu gạch ngói Viglacera như mã BHV của CTCP Viglacera Bá Hiến, DAC của CTCP Viglacera Đông Anh… và nhóm cổ phiếu khai khoáng BCK của CTCP Khoáng sản Bắc Cạn đồng loạt tăng trần.

Giao dịch nhà đầu tư nước ngoài tiếp tục bán ròng

Nhà đầu tư nước ngoài (NĐTNN) tiếp tục bán ròng trên sàn HoSE. Tổng giao dịch của NĐTNN trên HoSE khoảng 514.27 tỷ đồng. Trong đó, bán ròng 2.01 triệu đơn vi tương ứng với giá trị giao dịch 136.74 tỷ đồng. Mã BCI được NĐTNN mua vào nhiều nhất với 320,100 đơn vị, tiếp theo là DPM với 301,590 đơn vị và PPC với 237,670 đơn vị.

Tổng khối lượng giao dịch NĐTNN trên HNX đạt 1.23 triệu đon vị với giá trị 36.9 tỷ đồng. NĐTNN mua ròng 630,700 đơn vị tương đương với giá trị giao dịch 18.249 tỷ đồng. Khối này tích cực mua vào BCC của CTCP Xi măng Bỉm Sơn với 374,400 đơn vị và SHS của CTCP chứng khoán Sài Gòn – Hà Nội với 111,000 đơn vị. 

Góc nhìn phân tích kỹ thuật

Dải Bollinger Bands đang dần co thắt lại chứng tỏ VN-Index đang trong giai đoạn tích lũy. Volume của ba ngày giao dịch đầu tiên trong tuần chứng tỏ VN-Index đang thiết lập một mặt bằng khối lượng mới xoay quanh mức 65 triệu đơn vị/ngày. Ngưỡng kháng cự Fibonacci Retracement 161.8% ngắn hạn và Fibonacci Retracement 38.2% dài hạn đang tồn tại ngay phía trên VN-Index là một lực cản khó vượt qua nếu như vẫn cứ duy trì khối lượng giao dịch như hiện nay. Cần có một sự đột biến lớn mới có thể phá vỡ được ngưỡng kháng cự được đánh giá là rất mạnh này. Trong những phiên còn lại trong tuần thị trường có nhiều khả năng sẽ side-way hoặc tăng nhẹ.

It all started quite innocently. I was at my college, Bob Jones University, where the normal dress code for men is to wear a shirt and tie the whole morning, and for women to wear skirts/dresses with stockings all day.

The preacher was trying to make a point about the difference between what’s on the outside and on the inside, and so he had every male in the room take off their tie, and then said, “And ladies…” They all laughed.

The History of Leggings

This is one of the reasons that I started to puzzle over stockings, hose, tights, or leggings. Why is it considered proper for women to wear them, and are bare legs less modest?

What’s interesting is that, if you look back in history, it hasn’t always been females that have worn stockings:

Leggings in various forms and under various names have been worn for warmth and protection by both men and women throughout the centuries. The separate hose worn by men in Europe from the 14th to 16th centuries (the Renaissance period) were a form of leggings, as are the trews of the Scottish Highlands. Separate leggings of buckskin leather were worn by some Native Americans; These were adopted by some Long Hunters, French fur trappers, and later by mountain men. They are the leatherstockings of James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales. The Buckskins, however were mostly a dull grey brain-tan, not the bright, glossy vegetable tanned leather we so commonly see today. It was also common for leggings to be made of light wool.

Cowboys wore leggings of buckskin to protect from chapping caused by riding, wear and tear to their pants, and bites from such animals as snakes or insects in the scruff such as ticks.

Now, however, women are more often found to wear leggings than men.

Tights Today

Today you see tights mostly under skirts or dresses—sometimes under what I would consider as long shirts. Sometimes they are worn to try to compliment the outfit, and sometimes instead of pants!

But for the most part, I believe that most women wear stockings in a formal way to color their legs—whether it’s a crazy color like the one in the photo above, to a more nude shade that doesn’t seem to do much more than soften the lines.

This past Sunday I saw a lady wearing a black pair of stockings with white lines that formed a pattern—which was kinda interesting.

Modest?

On the one hand, I would say that it is more modest. Seeing bare legs is more of a problem, I think, thank seeing one that is covered. However, I can also see where stockings could show the shape of the legs or draw attention if the right colors aren’t chosen.

There are certain stockings—like the ones that are pictured on the right—that are purely designed to draw sexual attention. These stockings are not what you should wear in public.

While there are rumors of other stocking colors meaning certain things, nothing says the wrong things about yourself as wearing fishnet stockings.

Of course, this is one of those things that it would be fine to wear in the privacy of your home with your husband, but not in public.

And I don’t mean something that ageing nuns wear.

I hadn’t (cross)dressed for quite a while. My body hair – pubic, leg, chest, underarm – had pretty much re-stablished their positions. Truth is I didn’t really miss the thrill(?).

And then, as you are walking past a mannequin in a store, adorned in matching bra and panties, from nowhere, Vicky turns up. That blue lace bra and panties look really sexy. Just think how that material would feel against your skin. And what about some pale stockings to set the whole thing off?

Well, you can’t wear stockings with hairy legs. And if you’re removing that hair you might as well get rid of the rest.

The bra and panties do feel nice and the feel of sheer stockings on freshly shaved legs is delightful.

So, back to Square One.
