If you over think your dates, you’re a bloody idiot.

Alright you’ve been chatting to a girl who you like, maybe in a tute, maybe at work. All you know is she’s beautiful, laughs at your bad jokes, you smile at one another and get this unprecedented warm electric feeling in your stomach. Well done mate, WHO GIVES A SHIT. The fact is all these are, at the end of the day, just feelings. No actions are being taken, and, us being men, are not supposed to have feelings remember? We love logic and actions. So why don’t you just ask her out?

1) Well for starters, what does asking someone out even mean? Its completely ambiguous. I know when I was 18, I literally used to have no idea. In fact when I finally found a girl i liked, I realised the last time I properly ‘asked a girl out’ may have been when I was 14, when I built up enough courage to finally go up to the girl next door and say ‘Hey, soo I was thinking… do you want to go out?’ I couldn’t believe how nervous I was to ‘ask a girl out’ – something which I had no idea even meant. Turns out, this phrase has absolutely zero implications, and after that, I probably only ever saw her maybe 3 times in 6 months. Times moved on. You’re grown up now. You have to actually mean something when you say this phrase. You have to actually have something in mind, like a date!

3 years ago I fell in love with a beautiful girl, who laughed at my shit jokes who smiled at me and made me feel a bit..nicely weird. (yeh yeh ‘gaaayyy’, fuck you.) etc, but again, I soon realised I would have to eventually make a move! The problem was: I had just moved to a new city, had absolutely no idea what young adults do on dates, had no money, and just wanted to make this girl feel the same way I did about her. (sorry feelings again…). Anyway I’m batting well above my average and have been with her for 3 years.

Over the next 3 years, I learned by trial and error exactly:

1) What asking a girl out actually meant.

2) Knowing how to lock a girl down by showing them you care/without being creepy

3) Knowing what occasions constitute a formal, up market dinner and, what occasions constitute a trip away and what occasions were better suited for a drink at a cool bar with mutual friends.

Of course all girls are different, but the general idea is the same. Show them that you care, that they are special and do this all without being creepy. There is a fine line between creepiness and showing that you care. I will help you find this balance.

What I will help you with:

- My first blog will be about a set 1st date plan. The same way you get a set menu at a dinner(you don’t have to chose what you want, its already decided for you) I will set you a date menu. I.e. What activities to do, what specific restaurants to eat at, what bars to drink at etc…(currently just Melbourne)

- My second blog will be again a set date menu for the 2nd and 3rd dates

- My 3rd blog etc..

I will make sure I help you lock down the girl you like. (without being a creep/literally locking them down..don’t you dare go Joseph Fritzel on me).
