From time to time there comes to my attention a story that should scare the living Hell out of all those people that frequent the “meat markets” in search of the love of a lifetime….this is just such a story……and Damn!  I am so please to be a old guy and not have to worry about this type of stuff….

As many as one in four U.S. teenage girls have had a sexually transmitted disease (STD), many infected soon after their first sexual encounter, a new government report shows.”The high burden of STDs among teen girls reminds us that we can’t ignore this,” said study author Dr. Sami L. Gottlieb, from the division of sexually transmitted disease prevention at the U.S. Centers for Disease and Prevention.

For the study, Gottlieb’s team collected data on 838 teen girls aged 14 to 19. Using samples provided by the teens, the researchers looked for Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Trichomonas vaginalis, herpes simplex virus type 2 and human papillomavirus (HPV).

The study authors found that 24.1 percent of the girls had one of these STDs and among girls who were sexually experienced, 37.7 percent had an STD. HPV was the most common infection (18.3 percent), followed by chlamydia (3.9 percent).

Moreover, in the year after having their first sexual experience and with only one sex partner, 19.2 percent of the teens developed an STD, Gottlieb’s group found.

To counter these problems, teens need to have early sex education, Gottlieb noted. “The vast majority of people have sex for the first time during their teenage years, so we need them to be prepared,” she said.

This study also makes a strong case for routine vaccination against HPV, as it is the most common sexually transmitted infection, Katz said. “Since HPV is often acquired so soon after the initiation of sexual activity, early vaccination is the way to go. I speak on this as the father of two young teenage daughters, both of whom have received the Gardasil vaccine,” he added.

Another report released by the CDC last week provided more statistics.

Teen girls aged 15 to 19 accounted for the largest number (409,531) of the 1.5 million reported chlamydia and gonorrhea cases in the United States in 2008, followed by women aged 20 to 24, according to the annual federal report.

The researchers also found that black females continue to have a higher rate of STDs than any other racial or ethnic group.

Last year, there were about 1.2 million reported cases of chlamydia and nearly 337,000 reported cases of gonorrhea in the United States, according to the report.

Yep…a lot of this type of stuff could be prevented if there were a “real” program of sex ed in schools….but instead most states want to push some damn silly program like abstinence only….which has been a dismal failure from the get go…..so none of the recommendations will be met and the vicious cycles continues….and we have no one to blame but our own stupidity……the time to do something about this lack of knowledge and education is NOW…not after your Johnson falls off and you pee through a plastic tube……

From time to time I try to lighten up the stuff to keep from going completely batshit….and in doing so I usually post of sex thingy…..oh well…today is NO different….

Do YOU need sex?

The short answer is you bet your ass you do…..but with that said….how can we tell if we are approaching critical mass?

First of all,  Times of India is reporting:

Practically, a non-existing sexual life causes a lot of reactions, more or less explicable, and in some extreme cases it can lead to severe physical and philological reactions: skin itches, irritations, anger etc. You could end up hurting the ones beside you, emotionally or even physically, because you did not “read” one of your body’s cries for help.

If you manage to do this, you will also be able to prevent them. Of course, these intervals vary from person to person, and they are dependent to certain factors, such as age, sex, lifestyle, physical condition, pregnancy, menopause etc.

All in all, make sure you take some time and really analyze yourself and your body, your needs and your desires, and that way you will manage to understand the course of action you have to take so that everything returns on its’ right normal “path” again.

Another Good Flick: Wild at Heart
This clip, I hope, is a premonition of a situation at hand, not a description of what could have been. Most women I’ve met have had shit taste in music; in fact, I wouldn’t even call their preferences music in that it was all over produced fast food junk food diet of synthesizers and Beyonce bullshit. And they can listen to this crap for hours upon end and sing to it and/or they regard Disco as an art form instead of the aberration it was.

The chief reason I skipped a Halloween party this year was that it was to be a glorification of the Disco era. I lived through that shit once and I knew I’d grow ornery having to listen to 3 hours of it again.

Really? Okay, so I’ve been told I need to fill this section out. You know what I hate most about the “tell us about yourself” section of just about anything?? Its not exactly like there’s a f*cking outline.

Well, here’s my best shot.

I’m a 24 year old, female, Executive Of Brokerage and Client Developement for a local logistics firm here in the Twin Cities… I think if you went looking for one, you’d come back with…. well, me. Other than that, I’m actually rather strange… or moreso I think I am. Then again, I think far too much. So what’s the opinion actually worth?

According to my other half, if you will, I’m a sushi eating, granola crunching, raging femenist, hippy…. but I’m pretty sure I was probably 10 the last time I “crunched” on granola, and that I adore the male species far too much to be any sort of “raging” femenist.

Underneath all of my walls, which I do have many; I honestly think I have a really big heart. I take everything personally, everything effects me on one level or another. Perhaps that’s why I can hold a grudge like a motherf*cker. Analyze that Dr. Frued….

I read too much. I think I like other worlds better than my own. So reading helps me to coagulate the two. I LOVE Lord Byron. If I were born circa 1840, I’m pretty sure we’d be… involved.

I love music. I hate music. Or figuretively speaking, I hate what the year 2000 DID to music. I hate that someone like “Fergie” can be a household name, but you could walk down the street asking who Saul Williams is, and everyone would look at you funny.

I love to cook. I discovered this talent a few years back. I think it has something to do with the fact that I like to eat. I’m the kind of person who’d fly to Osaka, just for the sushi. I’d also learn to speak Japanese… if the task requited it.

I took last week off and binged – to quote the TV program “Intervention” segments I watched – on possibly hundreds of YouTube videos. With no vacation anywhere around, I was completely fed up up with the project I’ve been working on. There were no drugs, no booze just videos. Like Stiv Bators and the Lords of The New Church bemoaned, I’ve been ‘Living on the Tube.”

It was quite a day of coincidences. Someone pumped several videos into my YT feed and they described quite accurately what I’d been up to. I also spent the entire day writing up fairly elaborate business scenarios for a client’s website which, content and mechanics-wise, has become my website.

But as another video pointed out, I’m going to look on the bright side

because the scenarios are going to create an awesome effect that is custom-fitted to the site’s purpose and effectiveness. I burned today but it had to get done and now, they almost are.

Is this exciting? Well, yea, it is ’cause it means that soon, my true abilities will be recognized faster. That means differentiation and vacations.

In return, I’m going to teach him sales and turn him into a business-savvy, customer-focused web designer. Which will make him a hybrid and just the guy people everywhere will want to do business with.

Mermaids, mermaids everywhere!
Holy fish food Batman, my YouTube Inbox was swimming in mermaids today! Schools of them! Videos of them lounging on the beach, rippling past corral, starring in Broadway plays; instructional mermaid tails, even. I checked my bathtub but didn’t see any. Too bad. In this clip, Winona’s fatherless teenage character, Charlotte, drives far away from her mom’s place, has a car “breakdown,” gets a family out of bed, and stays for breakfast where she finally has the experience of “a real-live father actually living in the same house as his wife and kids. They’re perfect. This is like television….maybe they’ll adopt me.”

Oh-h-h, the look on Winona’s face (from 6:32 to 6:38) when her mom’s boyfriend drives out to get her is so, so sad. (She is such a great actress). Charlotte’s brush with ‘normal’ family life briefly filled her need for stability and a father but it was oh so fleeting.

Author Nancy Friday spent a couple of chapters in one of her books discussing how important functional fathers are to their daughters. Dads model what is masculine for their daughters and give her a different type of guidance and example. My dad gave my middle sister a shit example which led her to choose the wrong guy her first time around. If I knew then what I know now, I would have taken her aside and punched her fiance out because he was one disrespectful, smirking asshole.

So, what is it with mermaids, already?
It’s a great vacation scenario. Were they foreshadowing Halloween? I don’t even where I’m going or if I’m going somewhere for Halloween!
