Him, “ask me what I think about you?”

Her, “No. I don’t like asking question that I don’t know the answer. I regret it.”

Him, “okay, so what if  just said what I thought about you?”

Her, “but I don’t want to know.”

Him, “well I think your eyes remind of me deep mahogany end tables…”

She interrupts him.

Her, “mahogany, are you shitting me? You serious about that one?”

Him, “it was going to be beautiful.”

Her, “you honestly believe just telling me some sweet nothings, is telling me about myself. I know i have brown eyes.”

Him, “well how about that I think you?”

Her, “I  dont care, I’m over this.”

He moves closer to her, takes her hand and looks in her eyes.

Him, “for the longest time, I tried to understand what its like to be in love. I dont know if I am, but I do know that when I kiss your lips its like an empty part of me has been filled. When I’m around you I feel enveloped by your spirit.”

Her, “thats still bull shit, its nice but bull shit.”

Him, “I give up, I just like when you’re around.”

Her, “fine, thats better. Just be honest.”

Ning & I were just featured in two different publications this past week. Our thoughts on how magic can benefit students and teenagers were featured in a full-page article in the May issue of Teens magazine. We shared how we got interested in magic and how the art has benefited us personally.

I was also interviewed in the latest issue of 13 Apr 2009 issue of The Edge, a weekly business paper, along with two other veterans in the Singapore event & entertainment industry, Vivien Goh and Moe Alkalf.

We gave our opinion on the current business climate’s effect on the event & entertainment industry. Now, while the issue was just published this week, we answered questions about 3 months ago. My first thoughts when I was told the issue was out was: “Hasn’t the market changed since then?” I was not even completely sure what I had answered until I picked up a copy. Sure enough, some things I had said then didn’t hold true

One of things I was quoted as saying was that I was not investing in any new large-scale illusions… WRONG! As I wrote in my blog a few week ago, we just invested over S$30,000 in new illusions. There is a reason with this contradtion but I won’t share it here now.

These latest media features join our collection of media clippings that fill our media archives. In just 2 1/4 years, we have amassed multiple thick files of media features. Ning calls them her “babies” and the collection is very impressive if I do say so myself.

In fact, we used to bring the files for meetings and presentations but it has become so impractical to lug around all the files. So, we just compiled a ‘best-of-the-best’ file that features our best 80 media articles!

Check out photos of our files below. Those are five & a half full files of features from 2007 till now. In fact, 2 & a half files just for last year alone! We had collectively almost 200 pages of PR!

In the upcoming weeks, we will have features I-weekly and Lianhe Wanbao so look out for those!

No new review today, because my day has been pretty bad and I’m simply not in the mood (let’s just say I made a big mistake by even the most idiotic of standards). So here’s another from the archive.

Match 1
Joker w/Eddie Kingston vs Gran Akuma
A meeting of two hard hitters in this one, and a first time meeting. A really enjoyable opener here, with some strong mat wrestling and fast paced action, as well as the hard hitting kick and chop exchanges that you would expect these two to have. I am impressed by Joker, and he is someone I want to see more of, and Akuma impresses me more and more every time I see him (he really need to be in ROH full time). Joker got a rollup out of nowhere when he had Akuma in an Armbar to get the three count. Great match, topping my expectations- ***1/4

After the match, the two wrestlers shake hands.

Before the next match, Joey Eastman decides to do the introductions for his team (he used to be the IWA Mid South ring announcer, but turned into a heel manager recently)

Match 2
Pretty Unreal (Michael Elgin and Ash) w/Joey Eastman vs Naptown Dragons (OMG and ‘Diehard’ Dustin Lee)
I’ve only heard good things about Ash and Elgin, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do. I thought this was a decent tag match, with some good wrestling, but you can tell these guys are inexperienced and they messed up a few moves. Ash and Elgin have some way to go but I see potential in them and they will do well on the indy scene in the next year or two. After a good final few minutes, Elgin and Ash won when Elgin pinned OMG after a Razors Edge-Neckbreaker combo double team move- **1/4

Z-Barr cuts a promo saying he’s tired of people not cheering for him (I wonder why people don’t cheer for him? Maybe because he’s an awful wrestler). He then tells Jimmy Shalwin that he won’t cheat tonight, but subsequently cheats.

Match 3
‘The Hype’ Jimmy Shalwin vs ‘The Most Hated Man In IWA History’ Z-Barr
If I remember correctly, the whole point of Z-Barr being on the roster is because he makes people go to the concession stand to buy stuff. That tell you how good this match was: not very good at all. Press the skip button on your DVD, there’s nothing to see here. One interesting note though: Jimmy Shalwin was apparently the person who told Jimmy Jacobs to wear the furry boots for his Huss gimmick. Jimmy Shalwin pinned Z-Barr with the Moonsault- 1/4*

Again, Joey Eastman does the ring announcing for his wrestler CJ Otis.

Match 4
7 Man Lightweight Rumble- CJ Otis w/Joey Eastman vs Jack Thriller vs Ricochet vs Zach McGuire vs Human Tornado vs Josh Abercrombie vs Billy Roc
This sort of match is always a lot of fun, and this was no different as this proved to be a great high flying bout. The entrants didn’t seem to know when to come out since the ring announcer wasn’t very thorough in his explanation, plus the match suffered from the usual indy spotfest syndrome of everyone getting eliminated within a minute of each other to take the match down to the final participants. Tornado was hugely over with the crowd, the most of anyone in the match. Once Abercrombie came in the match turned insane and got really good, although as I said earlier this was an indy spotfest plain and simple, although a damn good one. The eliminations were as follows-
Jack Thriller by Human Tornado
Zach McGuire by CJ Otis
Ricochet by Billy Roc
Billy Roc by CJ Otis (with an awesome Burning Hammer-Double Stomp combo alongside Human Tornado)
CJ Otis by Josh Abercrombie
Josh Abercrombie and Human Tornado were the final two, and had some great wrestling exchanges, before Josh Abercrombie won a title shot with the Taliban Backpack. That may have been a spotfest, but I loved it and it was done very well- ***1/2 (I know I shouldn’t rate it that high, but I loved it that much)

Before the next match, AJ Styles takes his turn to cut a promo, saying that he doesn’t care who Tiger Mask is and doesn’t care about the fans cheering or clapping him.

Match 5
AJ Styles vs Tiger Mask IV
I wonder why this was so low on the card, as I would have had this as the main event. A good match, but not an excellent, standout match that you would expect these two to have. It just seemed a bit too slow, and AJ seemed to calling in his performance rather than giving his 100% best. Not to mention Tiger Mask was not a spectacular opponent, and was sloppy in his offense at times. But there was some good mat wrestling and high flying at points in this match that helped make this match a decent contest overall. Tiger Mask rolled up AJ to get the three count- **1/2

Match 6
Joey Mercury vs Tyler Black
I always thought Joey was underrated when wrestling the indy’s the first time around, simply because he didn’t do hundreds of flips, but the indy scene has changed and people now appreciate him a lot more after his exploits in WWE. Tyler has also evolved as a performer considerably since I saw him last in the 2006 TPI. This was a good match, and Joey can go despite having some ring rust, and for me looked a few levels above Tyler in terms of ring skill (which is a big compliment considering how good Tyler is). A quick paced match, with lots of high flying, high impact offense, but also some very good matwork, and some close nearfalls towards the end. Unfortunately my DVD messed up and I missed the finish, but – ***1/4

Match 7
‘The Impact Bully’ Brandon Thomaselli vs Jigsaw
A good lightweight bout, although nothing spectacular. Jigsaw wrestled his usual fast paced, high flying lucha style, and was very much the underdog to Thomaselli who cheated at every turn and also used a slower, more power based style. Jigsaw at one point held Thomaselli back so that a fan could chop him. It could maybe have been shortened a little, since it could have been a more effective match for me that way, but besides that I have no real complaints since there were no botches of any kind, and the match flowed well. Brandon Thomaselli retained his title with a move I believe he called the McGuillicutter (it was an Implant DDT of some kind, I am probably wrong wit the name, so e-mail me so I can correct it). Good bout that I actually enjoyed more than Styles/Tiger Mask- ***1/4

Match 8
Chuck Taylor vs Devon Moore
I’ve only seen Moore compete once before, in PWU where he had a great match with Azrieal. Another good match, which was very fast paced, as Moore wrestles a high flying, spotty style while Taylor wrestles quick but uses more heelish tactics and uses everything he can to get the advantage and get the crowd booing him, as well as putting some submission holds to use. Moore is a good wrestler but he still needs some seasoning as he made a few botches here, but was a good opponent for Chuck. Despite some near falls, Taylor was able to retain the belt over Moore when he pinned him with the Omega Driver- **3/4

Match 9
Falls Count Anywhere- Axl Rotten vs Tank
As I stated in my previous IWA review, I am not a fan of this sort of match, so I feel I cant’ give a good account of it, so you’ll need to watch this if your a deathmatch fan to see what you think- no rating

Match 10
Hotstuff Hernandez vs Eddie Kingston
Great, hard hitting main event. Kingston looks to have lost a good deal of weight, he’s almost slim now. Both of these men threw hard forearms, chops, knees and just about everything else, hitting each other very hard and holding nothing back. Both men also used a variety of submissions and power moves, with Hernandez throwing Kingston around like he was a light-heavyweight. And that was much of the story of this match: Hernandez overpowering Kingston, while Kingston tried to fight back with hard hitting strikes and some power moves of his own. Hernandez and Kingston both came close to winning this near the end, but it was Hernandez who would win this in the end with the Border Toss. Best match of the show for me.- ***1/2

This was a very solid show overall. There were no MOTY candidates or excellent, outstanding, must see matches, but the show features 2 ***1/2 and 3 ***1/4 matches, with the rest of the undercard solid barring the Z-Barr match. So this is an easy recommendation.

Today was a HOT HOT HOT photoshoot for Ning (literally!). Not only was the ‘model’ super HOT (sexiest woman in magic as quoted from MagicSeen), the temperature was at a sweltering 33-34 degrees plus the photoshoot was at HortPark (‘HOTPARK’) for HOT STUFF, SG’s only magazine for modified cars. LOL! It was the first time i walked into HortPark (despite it being literally 2 minutes away from my old home @ Gillman Heights) and i was quite stunned by the nice parks inside, and the tranquility of it.

The photoshoot was pretty smooth sailing (Ning seems so experienced with poses now.. =p ) and MANY stopped to gawk at our extremely HOT Magic Babe (in both sense of the words..) The team was very professional and a breeze to work with, so it was all very nice. The magazine will be out in Sept and Ning will be the cover girl as well as the featured model for Sept. I would have taken some pictures too, if not for the crappy cam phone i had with me.. so do check out J C’s Blog for more pictures on the photoshoot!

I had a few surprises today… One from Ning (and J C apparently) as well as one from my mum. I had mentioned yesterday that it was my lunar birthday in the passing to Ning and J C (ok, ok, it was more of an exclamation cos of surprise birthday msges from family members) but i did not think too much about it. However, as i got into J C’s car (or bounced into J C’s car, as Ning said i did) to get to the HOT STUFF studio today, Ning turned and gave me a present for my birthday!

Wowee.. Look at that! A really pretty key necklace from Ning and J C for me.. Because I’m turning 21st this year, they specially bought a key pendant for me. Thanks so much, both of you! I’m so touched!! =) It is a beautiful beautiful necklace.. I LOVE IT!

And then you may notice that the picture is a very nice picture unlike the crappy old resolution pictures i used to take… That’s cos of the 2nd surprise! I know that my mum was going to buy me a new handphone for my 21st birthday, but i didn’t expect it TODAY.. LOL.

There’s my new beauty… Nokia 6500 Slide. WOOT!! It isn’t the colour i wanted but black turned out to be really cool too! It is also not the latest model BUT! it has a 3.2 Megapixels Carl Zeiss Optic Camera, which is what i really really wanted!! OMG OMG! *bounces around*

I’m just playing around with it and i so love my new Nokia phone! I have been using Sony E for a while,but still to me, my first pick would still be Nokia.. The only blecks about the phone is the lowly 256 MB card that it comes with, but then, I will be rectifying it soon with a 2G card, so there!!

Last night…went to bed around 10:15 (fatigued from preparing for Cali) and around 1:30ish I felt like one of the Fantastic 4—FLAME ON….off go the covers….lie there with the fan blowing across the body full blast…..get a chill and cover up…2:15ish…FLAME ON….kick off the covers, lie on my back with the fan blowing to cool me off…..cool down, cover up…..3:45ish (Samson and Delila enjoy the extra blast furnace effect and join me under the covers)…4:30ish….FLAME ON…savagely kick off the f-in covers and beat my pillow whilst the sweat POURS out of my armpits, under by boobs, down my back, between my legs ….DAMMIT….

I thought I had this beat, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…..it comes roaring back…makes for a lovely sleeping partner and a bitch of a lady (not sure I’d even want to call myself a lady…bitch of a bitch is more like it) and loads of that fun thing called sleep deprivation.

Hot Stuff the Little Devil is a comic book character who first appeared in Hot Stuff #1, published by Harvey Comics in October 1957. Harvey must have had unusual confidence – blind launches were rare. The character didn’t first appear as a back-up feature in another book or receive a trial run in Harvey Hits. Imbued with a mischievous personality and able to produce fire, Hot Stuff appears as a vermillion red child devil who wears baby diapers (said to be made of asbestos) and carries a magical pitchfork (referred to as his “trusty trident”). However to the consternation of his demonic brethren, Hot Stuff sometimes performs good deeds to irritate them. The pitchfork is sentient and a character in its own right.

Created and first drawn by Warren Kremer, Hot Stuff has appeared in at least eight comic book titles including Hot Stuff Sizzlers (from 1960), Devil Kids Starring Hot Stuff (from 1962), and Hot Stuff Creepy Caves (from 1974) as well and multiple back-up stories from 1957 to 1982 , 1986 to 91, and with some later publications briefly during the 90’s. The character has not been published in comics since then.

Warren Kremer and Howard Post were the artists who helped define the look of Hot Stuff, drawing many comic book covers and stories over the years.

Unlike the other main characters in the Harvey universe like Casper the Friendly Ghost and Wendy the Good Little Witch, who crossed over into one another’s stories, Hot Stuff was written with a strong tendency to remain separate, in his own world. This includes Stumbo the Giant (created by Warren Kremer and Larz Bourne) as a back-up in Hot Stuff in 1957. They shared the inside of many comics together, without, it would seem, ever getting to know one another. However, crossovers with Casper and Wendy were not completely unheard of.

Zomg baboosh hot ass rockstar. Stevo kept showing me a heck load of videos on them and I am seriously dying of hotness overdose. I think I am starting to watch these videos religiously every night. All three of them write frigging nice songs and have frigging good looks. How can that much good stuff be concentrated in them? I’ll punch for a hug from them, kill for a kiss from them, shoot the entire universe to marry them! I sound so obsessed. Yea, I think I am.
