Katsui graduated from Central Saint Martins College after studying at Parsons The New School for Design. Yagi graduated from Doshisha University and Central Saint Martins College.
The brand, mintdesigns was launched in 2001. They have been in Tokyo Collection since ‘03 S/S. The awards they won include the Moet et Chandon New Designer’s Award in 2005. In 2007, mintdesigns garage store opened in Shibuya PARCO. They presented their collection in the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT THIS PLAY! show. In 2008, they presented the opening show at São Paulo Fashion Week for ‘09 S/S. Both designers currently hold positions as guest professors at the Faculty of Art and Design at Osaka Seikei University. In 2009 they presented their collection at the Milano Salone TOKYO FIBER ‘09.Mint Designs turned out a dainty crop of dresses featuring details such as shimmery stripes, textured fabric and quirky graphics. One frock featured a darling print of tiny Charlie Chaplins, while another showcased circular cutouts along the sides.

Next season’s ultrafeminine lingerie details, bows, ruffles, and ballerina-inspired looks call for some equally girly makeup. I’d like to try out some of these at the gallery or maybe out one night to contrast with a more punkish outfit. From top left, red lips and pastel eyes at Viktor + Rolf; pink cheeks and frosted gloss at House of Holland; Pat McGrath created a doll-faced look with matte white shadow on the eyes, extra eyelashes with many layers of mascara at Louis Vuitton, while hairstylist Guido decorated enormous afro wigs inspired by Japanese Manga comics with girly bows; pearly white eyeshadow at Scognamiglio; MAC makeup artist James Kaliardos accentuated pink eyeshadow with grey liquid liner, fake lashes, and a peachy lip at the Ruffian show; Ruffian eye closeup; it’s all about Blythe doll eyes at Miu Miu, where Pat McGrath affixed falsies to top and bottom lashes; To get François Nars’ exaggerated eyes at Marc Jacobs: use a bright white eyeliner pencil to draw an inch-wide vertical strip from the lashline to the brow (a stage makeup trick from the ’70s that makes eyes look wider), then trace black liquid liner along the top and bottom lashlines, extending the lines beyond both the inner and outer corners; jewel tones and glossy aubergine lips at Issa; backstage at Miu Miu; cupcake cutouts at Viktor + Rolf; Coco Rocha photographed by Solve Sundsbo for Numero.

Just having a quick look at sheer meshy garments and the way that they have been styled for Spring/Summer 2010.  Really love Meadham Kirchoff and Henry Hollands take on the fabric – especially the way that it has been layered, pintucked or blocked out to create a look which is equally soft and tough.  Amazing.

I bought the House of Holland Mock Stocking tights and wore them as part of my fancy dress costume so maybe it doesn’t count. I loved them though and intended wearing them again but laddered them! Drunken piggy backs are NOT a good idea kids! They appear to be available again though thank goodness so will buy another pair (or 2 or 3 or 4 or…)

Henry Holland design are quirky quirky and fun!  The House of Holland founder new tights collection with British hosiery brand Pretty Polly is simply graphical and apparently has a lower price point too (prices are from below £10, approximately$14 and below). There’s a variety of colours for each design too.

I’m always a fan of outrageous legwear and these mock over the knee tights by Henry Holland for PrettyPolly have caught my eye.

Lily showed off her legs on a night out at The Groucho Club

Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lily Allen all made headlines last week when they stepped out in sexy suspenders.

While Rihanna opted for rubber suspenders to hold up her Hussein Chalayan boots and Katy chose a pair of risque white stockings, it was Lily who had the most wearable and replicable look.

In her tromp l’oeil tights (that’s trick of the eye to you and me), Miss Allen managed to look sexy and sassy without revealing too much flesh, something that’s hard to do when wearing lingerie as outerwear!

I wasn’t a fan of Katy’s white hold-ups but after seeing the pictures of my official style crush Lily in her Chantal Thomas hosiery, I want a pair myself! The look was all over the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2010, but I’m not sure if they would get the same reaction on the streets of Birmingham!

Thankfully, Henry Holland’s collection of tights for Pretty Polly features a similar pair of ‘mock stocks’ for just £10. On sale at ASOS, Debenhams and River Island, these tights have been spotted on Henry’s pals Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and Agyness Deyn.

muitas coisas aconteceram essa semana e eu ainda tô meio perdida, mas a gente tem que superar, né? já dizia eu mesma que nosso sobrenome é superação e estamos prontas pra tudo nessa vida!
então, eu não tive muito tempo pra acompanhar as semanas de moda e ONTEM que fui começar a ver os desfiles. claro que eu ainda não consegui ver tudo, um dia eu termino. enquanto isso não acontece vou postando meus looks favoritos, conforme eu for  vendo!

eu ameeei D&G! na verdade eu quase sempre amo hahaha mas o desfile dessa temporada foi nossa minha cara, como diria Verena nesse momento: VAI VENDOOO

com muito jeans + jeans, jeans + couro e muuuitaaaas camisetas do mickey não tem como ganhar meu coração, né?
apesar de eu ser vegetariana e ser contra o uso de couro (ops), a gente pode levar na costureira a foto e mandar fazer sintético, né? ou comprar na 25 e customizar as camisas jeans em casa! adoooro, e bora ser cowboy (falando em cowboy, o que é o zeca da novela, hein? morro!!! hahahaha) nessa vida!
além disso, quero muito usar pochete! hahahahhaa será que tenho coragem?

outro desfile que amei (e não tem como não amar) foi o da House of Holland, esse sim é muuuuito NOSSA cara!

é muito amor ou não é? adoooro esse ar bagaceiro!! haahhaha quero voltar a usar suéter como vestido djááá! e a vontade de usar segunda pele rendada/desfiada no corpo inteiro??? hahahahaa

agora pra quem gosta de fazer a rhyca colorida tem Duro Olowu, que não é minha cara, mas achei bem legal:

não tem coisa mais fofa do que roupas em tons pastéis, né? o terceiro vestido é maravilhoso! e eu amei esse decote em formato de coração, será que se eu fizer em uma camiseta dá certo? hahahaha vou tentar, depois eu conto aqui…

London Fashion Week – Summer-Spring 2010 – House of Holland

Once again, we get some mix of see-through, laces and undies out. Finally a return of the big nanny pants – not so nanny if worn this way…
The messaged tees are back on. And an emerging trend, the business look, here with striking colors, geometric pattern, and cut out parts.

Nice collection, I liked the spots and in general the different cuts and patterns. The heart cut outs on the chest of some of the dresses were adorable! I’m sure I’ll see it in a Teen Vogue editorial sooner or later!

Before I even start. Jenny Shimizu, looks incredible.

A fine collection don’t you think. I was pleasantly surprised. Great stuff! Really.

I am a sucker for all things preppy. Give me a tweed blazer, a yellow cardigan and a nice vintage pair of brogues and I’m set. So my love of this collection should come as no surprise to you all. I thought it interesting, the hooped like neck accessory.

The male looking blazers with precise and structured shoulders look great! So my favourite? Well the 3rd outfit on the top row. (far right) I am loving that jacket blazer with the cute little belt and nice tweedness underneath. Yes i totally just made that name up

Cool collection, that I’ll end on. My favourite is the 2nd to last picture with the light peachy pink one sleeved blouse with the nice black skirt.

Now that we’re in September, we should be expecting the weather to get a little bit colder and to be wrapping up a little bit more. Having said that, when I strolled outside it was so warm!

Even so, the weather is going to make its mind up and get nippier. And when that happens, I’m going to be putting my tights on. However, I’m not very experimental when it comes to my tights, I only own boring black pairs. They’re good for any outfit, but I’d love to buy some more funky ones.

So these are the ones that I’ve managed to find, which I think would jazz up any outfit. Now I just have to chose a pair!
