Beyonce' Knowles

This may prove to be Beyonce’s biggest year as a recording artist as it was announced on December 2nd that she has been nominated for ten Grammy awards this year, including “Album of the Year” for her work on the multi-platinum, double-disc I Am…Sasha Fierce. The Houston-native has been recording and performing since the tender age of sixteen making her debut as a member of the commercially-successful “Destiny’s Child” r & b group in the mid-’90s, then deciding to split from the group, temporarily, for a solo-career in 2001 in which she released her platinum, debut album Dangerously in Love. The beautiful Beyonce’ has also been busy with a recently-entered marriage with rapper and hip-hop mogul, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, and a worldwide tour.

The nomination numbers were not so high for Beyonce’s husband and rapper Jay-Z who, despite not having the nomination numbers of his lovely wife, Beyonce’, racked in five nominations this year, and managed to capture a nomination for “Best Rap Song” for his autotune-bashing cut, “Death of Autotune”, the lead single off  The BluePrint 3 Hov’s latest album.

The ailed and troubled rap-phenomenon Kanye West managed to accumulate six nominations, which are mostly for collaborations, including “Best Rap Song” for his efforts on “Run This Town” with mentor and friend Jay-Z as well as Rihanna.

It was also a big year for new-comers Drake and Kid Cudi, who both managed to clinch two nominations apiece for “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Solo Performance” which will put them in the pit with rap-god Jay-Z for the Grammy win.

When To Add, And When To Take Away…

In the previous post I ran through the precedents of the story, but sticking all of those ideas together higgledy-piggledy would be a mess. Simply adding ideas without knowing who, what, where, how, why and when is madness of the highest order. The bag of tricks is filling, but to pull out objects in the right order we need to go back to basics and ask whom the characters are. This is where I normally throw away the rulebook and look to television for a bit of help. There are lots of threads at AW which have various people urging against the use of televisual techniques in writing, but one in particular is acceptable. If you go back to the beginnings of my story you should see where I drew from Star Trek.

Yes, the cold, analytical mind on one side of the focus character, the hearty life and soul on t’other. It isn’t, you will discover, a particularly original idea. There are examples you could pull from very popular books of the last few years that contain the same set-up, though I’m sure J.K. Rowling wouldn’t admit to borrowing the make-up of the central trio from an old SF show. I also allowed myself the luxury of hand-waving the living situation of the characters at that point in the story, mostly to let the narrative move quickly on to other things rather than worrying about how they could get their hands on regular money.

There is very little in the above taken from the previous post. This is important. When the story requires any of those elements to be brought in they are already bubbling away under the surface, there to be brought onto the stage when they will have the best possible effect then quickly ushered from the limelight to concentrate on character and plot. It may seem counter-intuitive to plan deeply and yet present a thin slice, but reversing the levels would turn the novel in to a comedy, or unbalance the flow so severely as to make it unreadable. I think I have gotten away with most of the descriptions in the first draft, but they will be refined and pruned, edited and clarified as needed.

None of what has come before actually answer where the ideas come from, but I’m getting there…

I skipped any explanation of where my hovs came from in the last post. This is where I show how I stitch together the different ideas that others have come up with, throw in some new thinking, make major (and fundamental) changes to the transport system of the future. There isn’t enough space in a single post to list every instance of flying cars ever seen in fiction, but you should know the basics anyways.

• The use of petrol in the future strikes me as dumb, mainly because the stresses would make it uneconomical to use. A fuel cell of some sort seems more believable. This would eliminate a lot of engine noise (handy if it was ever filmed ), and provide a logical reason for bigger explosions than you would see than with an ordinary car crash. Hollywood Rule 1 is The bigger the explosion, the better.
• A HUD rather than a conventional dashboard would be a logical step forward, with adaptive and customizable software to make each vehicle perfectly suited to its’ owner. There are already steps towards this kind of use, but we are still a way from having a completely digital representation rather than dials. I never completely bought into the fact that dials and switches in spacecraft for this reason.
• Your now thinking “how do you stop fender benders?” right? Well, sensors on the sides, top, bottom, and on each of the corners would keep a minimum safe distance between the vehicle and all those around it. The screen could then flash red if an accident was imminent.

None of that is radical. This is:

• Every action, every movement even, would be recorded and fed into a main computer system so that safety could be assured by insurers. The police would have full access to this system.
• Roads incline up to the next vertical level anti-clockwise around buildings, descending clockwise. This wasn’t a big deal in my story, but I had it worked out before I started.
• Hacked cars can be made invisible to the constant recording.
• The cars need to be at least four feet above a solid surface to operate safely, save for military-grade vehicles. A plot point about the DCU vehicles travelling freely in a vertical manner never came across clearly, but it was what I had intended.

The rest of my uses of the technology rested on the fact that it wouldn’t be cliché.

I have to admit that I was reminded of an old First Comics’ series called Zero Tolerance when I got into any sequence where the flying cars came to prominence, though that is obscure – even for me. Umm… Maybe if I just pretend I was thinking of Fray, nobody will shake their head and sigh at my geekishness slipping to the fore.

Hier wordt een lichte metro voor Utrecht voorgesteld, uiteindelijk een uitgebreid metronet. Om het hier overzichtelijk te houden, wordt het lijn voor lijn beschreven, in opeenvolgende posts. Dit is een inleiding, met een beschrijving van de eerste lijn, naar De Uithof.

Wat zou deze metro wel en niet doen? Het voorstel gaat uit van een lichte automatische metro: het tracé, en de afstand tussen stations, is daarop afgestemd. Het zou Randstadspoor niet vervangen, maar aanvullen. Randstadspoor bestaat uit hoogfrequente diensten op de bestaande spoorlijnen rond Utrecht, eventueel met extra sporen. Het is ‘heavy rail’, vergelijkbaar met de Duitse S-Bahn. (Ondanks de naam, is het niet te vergelijken met Randstadrail in Den Haag).

De eerste lijn van de metro is wel een alternatief voor de geplande HOV-lijn naar De Uithof, en gebruikt een vergelijkbaar tracé. De metro is echter niet bedoeld als alternatief voor de overige “vertrambare HOV-lijnen” die momenteel onderzocht worden. Die zouden meer als stadstram uitgevoerd moeten worden, terwijl de metro de zwaarste vervoersstromen verwerkt. Het is ook de bedoeling om het niet tot deze lijnen te beperken. Utrecht zou een uitgebreid tramnet krijgen, inclusief bijna alle lijnen van het vooroorlogse net: meer daarover later.

De voorgestelde metro vervangt wel de sneltram naar Nieuwegein / IJsselstein, hoewel een deel van het tracé als tramlijn in gebruik zou blijven. Het voorstel hangt ook nauw samen met de voorgestelde omlegging van de spoorlijn Utrecht – Arnhem naar De Uithof. Het nieuwe station daar zou een belangrijke overstappunt worden, ook van train op metro. Onderdeel van dat voorstel is namelijk ook, dat de huidige Intercity’s vanuit Zwolle en Deventer naar Den Haag en Rotterdam, via De Uithof zouden rijden.

Als alle voorstellen uitgevoerd worden, zou de (brede) regio Utrecht beschikken over een regionale metro, een metro, een uitgebreid tramnet, twee hogesnelheidslijnen, en twee belangrijke intercity-stations. Dat is niet overdreven veel, voor een regio met ongeveer een miljoen inwoners, dat ook nog tot de rijkste van de EU hoort.

De metrolijn naar De Uithof zou als eerste gebouwd moet worden. Deze ligt, qua functie en zwaarte, tussen de HOV-lijn naar De Uithof en de voorgestelde spoortunnel in. Het metro-tracé ligt ook ongeveer tussen de twee andere tracés in. De geplande HOV-lijn is een mengeling van bus/tram baan (centrum), verhoogd vrije baan (Pelikaanstraat), en vrijliggende trambaan (Maarschalkerweerd, Weg tot de Wetenschap). Het volgt overal het bestaande stratenpatroon, en begint waarschijnlijk bij de bestaande sneltramsporen, aan de stadszijde van Utrecht Centraal. Het blijft dus genieten van weer en wind bij het wachten.

De metrolijn zou op het spoorwegemplacement lopen, aan de westzijde, met eigen perrons als integraal onderdeel van Utrecht Centraal. Deze ligging is al een breuk met de huidige planning, maar is nodig voor doortrekking naar het noorden. Voorlopig is er nog veel ruimte beschikbaar, aan de westkant van het station. Er is zelfs een strook beschikbaar, van bijna 200 m breed, tussen Scheltemabaan en Kruisvaart, tot aan de Bleekstraat. (Het Masterplan Utrecht Centraal wil het gebied direct naast de sporen volbouwen, waardoor verdere uitbreiding van het station onmogelijk wordt).

Op dit stuk komt het tweede station, ter hoogte van de Veilinghaven. De plek is tegenwoordig onbereikbaar voor het publiek, maar met een voetgangers- en fietsverbinding is dat anders. Het ligt dan op een looproute, van de Veilinghaven via de Beetsstraat, naar de Lange Smeestraat, de Zuilenstraat, Lepelenburg en de Maliebaan.

Bij de kruising van de Vaartsche Rijn komt er een station, naast het al geplande station van Randstadspoor. (Het ontwerp moet rekening houden met mogelijke tramlijnen door de Bleekstraat). Daarna gaat de lijn verder aan de zuidkant van het spoor, met een volgend station ter hoogte van de Opaalweg (de HOV-lijn krijgt geen halte op dit gedeelte).

Bij de Waterlinieweg moeten eventueel de sporen verschoven worden, om plaats te maken voor de metro. Na deze brug, draait de metrolijn 90 graden, om Lunet II, en loopt dan aan de westkant van het huidige Sportpark Koningsweg. Het kruist dan de Koningsweg en de Kromme Rijn op viaduct, naar een station naast Stadion Galgenwaard. Het station (ook op viaduct) komt op het parkeerterrein: inpassing is geen probleem.

Voordeel van deze ligging is dat de lijn makkelijk verder kan, langs de middenlijn van de Weg tot de Wetenschap. Het tracé is nu gelijk aan die van de geplande tram. Het volgende station komt bij de Platolaan, in de woonwijk Rijnsweerd-Zuid.

Daarna draait de metrolijn naar de lengte-as van De Uithof (Padualaan / Heidelberglaan). Het kruist de snelweg A27 en de Sorbonnelaan: een tunnel net onder maaiveld is waarschijnlijk het beste hier. Na de A27 sluit de lijn aan op de voorgestelde oostelijke tangentlijn uit Overvecht. Het tracé ligt nu direct naast de voorgestelde spoorlijn naar De Uithof. Als de strook door de bebouwing niet breed genoeg is voor vier sporen, dan moet de metro maar op viaduct (boven de weg, die boven de spoortunnel ligt). In De Uithof komen er twee metrostations: ‘Uithof West’ aan de rand, en ‘Uithof Centraal’ naast het station op de nieuwe spoorlijn (aan de Universiteitsweg, naast het ziekenhuis UMC).

De lijn wordt 6200 – 6500 m lang. Het is te beschouwen als de stamlijn van de voorgestelde Utrechtse metro. Het wordt ook doorgetrokken vanuit De Uithof naar Zeist, en naar De Bilt / Bilthoven. Deze en de overige lijnen, worden in opvolgende posts beschreven…

Can’t seem to shake this Jay-Z bug I have.  Everything I’ve tried has not shaken it. Has anyone else been having problems with trying to get away from the Blueprint 3? The Game Puts his Money on Hov in 50 Cent and Jay-Z FeudNew York, NY – West Coast MC, The Game, has had his share of feuds with both Jay-Z and 50 Cent in the past, but according to him, it was all in good fun. Game has taken shots at both artists during some interesting times, where one responded and one didn’t, either way it never really got to a serious level. However, in this recent publicized feud that Beanie Sigel and 50 Cent has sparked up with Jay that has become somewhat of a media frenzy, The Game added his two cents practically putting all bets on Jay-Z.

During an interview with Complex.com, The Game insisted that Hov would come out the victor in this battle if it came down to lyricism. These were his comments:

“Jay-Z will fuck 50 up in a battle! It would be so fast and over with. 50 is funny, but Jay is witty. Jay-Z is not to be toyed with. If he responds, if he feels like you’re really pissing him off and he responds, he’s gonna fuck you up! He would fuck me up, I’m just glad he didn’t respond, so I didn’t have to go dig in my bag and try to fuck him up.

I definitely think that Jay-Z didn’t come at me like he came at any other rappers because I definitely would have been more disrespectful. Once you start a beef with me, you better be ready to go the whole 12 rounds. I will try to chew your fuckin’ ear off, like Mike Tyson. I’ll do it and I think he knew that — I’m disrespectful! So Jay, he did the right thing and just kinda let it die down and I let it die down ’cause it wasn’t anything, really. It was fun and I really admire Jay’s career. I just really don’t care too much for the man himself.”

At one point in time, Game has even apologized to 50 about everything that occurred over the past and admitted that G-Unit was a time in his life that he really enjoyed and would work with 50 again if the time came around, 50 however, will not. With this recent feud, Game states that 50 is just taking a page out of his book when he began taking shots at Hov:

“I already did that Jay-Z thing, 50’s just doing what I’m doing. Nobody went at Jay; I went at Jay. Now everybody wants to get at Jay — not saying anything about Beanie Sigel, that’s personal and I stay out of that. He’s just a man and he’s got all the right in the world, but I feel like I did something that people have been wanting to do, but everybody is scared because Jay-Z is so lyrically inclined to cut your throat and your career in half that nobody wanted to do it. But me? I just don’t give a fuck sometimes.”

At press time, The Game has been recently working in the studio with Dr. Dre in the completion of his forthcoming album ‘The R.E.D. Album.’ That fourth studio album has been set to be released on February 16, 2010 with distribution by Interscope Records.

I agree with The Game 100%, on the real, anyone that would go toe to toe with Jay-Z has a huge competition in front of them. Lyrically, Jay would destroy 50 and no one should disagree. Either way, it is also good to see that Game is back in the studio again with Dre and with Interscope, I’m actually looking forward to the release of his next album.

Eminem to Re-Release ‘Relapse’ as ‘Refill’ Dosage

Los Angeles, CA – Eminem has always been artist who keeps his promises to his fans. News coming of the Shady/Aftermath camp of another Relapse album, not the sequel, but a re-release he has creatively entitled ‘The Refill.’ According to Em, he wants to include new material that wasn’t present or recorded during the release of the first ‘Relapse.’

The Detroit MC recently spoke with RapRadar.com and stated that ‘The Refill’ will include the tracks ‘Forever’ that he did with Wayne, Drake, and ’ Kanye, ‘Taking My Ball,which was recorded for the ‘DJ Hero: Renegade Edition’ game that he did it Jay-Z, and three newer tracks.

These were his comments:

“I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned. Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year.”

Even though the sequel to his ‘Relapse’ series won’t be out until next year, he did share some information into the album with DJ Tony Touch during an interview on Shade 45. He stated that the second will be very different from the original:

“[The album] is gonna be a lot different than people expect. As far as the contrast from the last album to this one, I got a couple of tracks with [D12's] Mr. Porter, two tracks with him so far. Four, possibly five with Just Blaze. The overall basis of this record, I went back to songs that are more emotionally driven. The last record I made, I think I was concentrating more on spitting. On this album, I feel like there’s some of that, but I went back to songs with [feelings] to them as opposed to just rap records.”

At press time, ‘Relapse: The Refill’ has been set to be released on December 21, all according to Interscope.

I was looking forward for this year for him to release the sequel, but I guess him being Em, he must have something up his sleeves. With production from Just Blaze, I can imagine how he will sound on a Blaze beat, it would be quite original.

Jay-Z Scores Number One Hit with ‘Empire State of Mind’ with Video

New York, NY – Even with all the negative news surrounding Jay-Z of late concerning 50 and former Roc member Beanie Sigel, it seems as though none of that is actually affecting him as he’s not even entertaining it. But honestly, why should he? His New York anthem, ‘Empire State of Mind’ has been receiving rave reviews from critics and all his fans. As of this past Thursday (November 19), the record hit number 1 on the Billboard hot 100 charts. Jay-Z has been on the charts before on features, but this marks the first time his album track has hit number one on the Billboards.

The newest NYC anthem has been circulating all over the place as both Jay and Alicia Keys have been requested to perform the hit record literally everywhere. They first performed it together at the MTV Video Awards of this year, then at the Yankee/Phillies World Series game, and again after the Yankees won at the Bronx parade, to recently performing it at the American Music Awards, where it was a huge hit. The record is literally been performed at almost every major location, putting Hov at an all time high. Guaranteed the list will continue to grow.

Jay-Z recently stated the message that the song was expressing:

“Really, ‘Empire State of Mind’ is about inspiration, it’s about hope. I think that’s what connects with people.”

And honestly, Alicia said it best NYC is the” Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of, there is nothing you can’t do.”

Is it me or does it seem that hip hop fans have become more of a casual fan and not so much a lover of it?  Do we only care about the gossip and who’s “going at who”?  Or better yet, do we only care about today??  Meaning, do we only care about what’s on the radio or in the club this weekend??

I challenge you to get out of your comfort zone if you really love hip hop and music as a whole for that matter.  If you love Drake and Wayne, go buy UGK.  And after you get that UGK, go purchase the first Geto Boys.  If you love Em, you need to get Eazy Does It and the Power album.  Not to leave anyone out, but if you love Jay or 50, you really should have Kane and BDP in your collection.

Ok guys and gals….where do I even start? As you all know im a HUGE Lady Gaga fan. I pay attention to any press surrounding her whether it be good or bad. Lately a lot of people have been saying things about the singer that are some what disturbing. What was even MORE disturbing were the details and information that emerged while I was researching to see what was going on with Lady Gaga….. So I bet you’re wondering what the “controversy” is right? Here we go……

The Illuminati are an elite group of people whose goal is to keep money, fame, fortune, success, and basically anything having to do with power within their circle. The Illuminati are NOT a myth. They are very real and thrive around us each day.They crave a New World Order where everything is ran by them. The rich stay rich, the middle class become poor, and the poor die out. Illuminati is a faith that worships Horus. In ancient Egyptian times, Horus was the symbol of the “all seeing eye.” The all-seeing eye was enlightened and open to knowledge, ideas, and a better understanding ( I wont get into detail of the history but heres the link if you would like it! Click Here). Ok….anyways,  the Illuminati were not bad to begin with.They were reffered to as the Bavarian Illuminati. There name was smeared in the church sometime in history and the newer generations of Illuminati became corrupt having no recollection of where their roots originated from.

What did this have to do with the entertainment industry and Lady Gaga? A lot actually. As I said in the beginning of this blog, the NEW Illuminate are ELITE. Meaning they are people who posses money, power, status, strength, and the most powerful tool, the power to persuade. These are public figures, presidents, icons, billionaire moguls, and the list goes on and on. Now that i’ve elaborated a little more, let’s get down to the nitty gritty!

2 pac was a casuality of the Illuminati. 2pac speaks about the illuminati and his war with them in many of his songs and interviews. He says “killimunati” in the beginning of the song Hail Mary and foreshadows his death down to the way it happened in other song. 2pac Shakur was with the Illuminati for alot of his career and wanted out after a while. The fame, money and power he received wasnt enough to stop him from looking his unhappy lifestyle in the face and wanting out. The Illuminati and Jay Z killed 2pac. Whether it sounds stupid or not, it’s the truth. The Illuminati staged a fake feud between the East coast and the West coast and staged his death as if it were over a rival beef between Biggie and 2pac. This killed two birds with one stone because when Biggie was killed shortly after 2pac, it gave the Illuminati the opportunity to set up Biggie’s death like it was a retaliation on behalf  of  the West coast and 2pac’s posse. Think about it…no one saw what happened to 2pac during the shooting on the Las Vegas strip?? I think not…moving right along…..

Princess Diana was also a casuality of the Illuminati. Did you know she died AFTER the accident? If you dont believe me look it up. Not only did she die mysteriously from minor injuries, but  her body was embalmed so soon after her death, there was no time for an autopsy…Can we say suspect?? This is an excerpt from the latest book on The Princess of Wales  written by Christopher Anderson:

Ok….moving right along again. Lets talk about HOV aka Jay Z and his affiliation with the Illuminati. When Jay – Z was a teen, he was involved with the “Nuwbian community” in Brooklyn which was ran by Dr. Malichi Z York. The Nuwaubianism practice was adopted by many people in the 1970’s and stemmed from the Black Panthers. Dr York was sentenced to 135 years in prison for child molestation charges (pay attention to what he was arrested for) a short while after he released a book called “Leviathan 666″ which discussed the “truth” in the world and how people were trying to manipulate evolution and the world. His followers say he is innocent and many of them continue on with his teachings.

Now, what ties Jay-z in to all this is the fact that he KNOWS exactly whats going on with the Illuminati and he knows they exist. He has also been said to be a part of them. Rumors of Jay-Z’s affiliation with the Illuminati started after people learned he was a Free Mason. While not all Masons are bad, there’s said to be a level of Masonry that even most Masons arent aware of……and its nothing nice. Jay-Z’s affiliation with the Illuminati is through the Free Masons. At some point in time, the Illuminati lost almost all of its power and the Masons tried to revive it through their society. This is where things got misconstrued and the church started to smear names.

Jay Z uses symbols to express his brotherhood with the Masons and the Illuminati. The seeing eye for example is a sign of the Illuminati and can be easily viewed in any picture where “Hov” is throwing up the “ROC” sign. Coincidence right?? Maybe for some artist but Jay-Z makes SURE the triangle his hands form line up with one eye every time he does it. Whether his hands are above him or directly in front of his face, he makes sure his “seeing eye” is lined up correctly.

Ok so your thinking  how does that make him evil, or Illuminati or whatever right?? Well in case you havent noticed Jay-Z  is one of the richest, most prestigious, well-known business men in the music industry right now and has been for some time. He is one of the Elite. It’s not about his music, his wife, or who his friends are….its about his ROOTS which stem back from Dr. York and his teachings in Brooklyn and the Masons. Jay-Z raps about the Illuminati in various songs and even goes as far to say he doesnt belive in god in others. Jay-Z also refers to himself as “Hov” aka Jehovah which is another name for God. At first I thought he meant the God of the rap game but he doesnt. He literally means god.  One of Dr. York’s main teachings was that man creates his way. Not god. according to him the “chosen few” are actually higher than god. Need I say more??

Ok…keeping in mind what i’ve told you about Dr. York’s imprisonment and how he was arrested for “child molestation” lets move along to Michael Jackson and his Fatal run in with Illuminati. Michel Jackson is the greatest entertainer of all time. Its self explanatory why a group like the Illuminati would want MJ on their team. MJ talked about them in so many of his songs an interviews. The first time he started REALLY talking to press about these awful people, he was mysteriously put on trial for molestation charges. See the correlation?? The only difference between MJ and Dr.York is that MK was too powerful for the illuminate to control. Too many people in too many other countries as well as our own loved him and never believed the allegations brought against him. MJ planned to reveal a huge secret on his last tour he was preparing for. Illuminati silenced him and media says  he “overdosed.” There are also allegations that Illuminati staged the Pepsi commercial and rigged the set so it would burn him.

A few people  have spoken out about the Illuminati that are in the entertainment industry. The main person is KRS ONE from the group Prodigy. He spoke out through a 6 page letter in jail he wrote about the Illuminati and rappers Jay-Z and Nas and there affiliation with the Free Masons and Dr. York. The letter was very controversial but much-needed.

Whew!! A mouthful right?!?! The last person who I want to bring up is Aaliyah. Many people have no idea that Aaliyah and Jay-z had a relationship before him and Beyoncé? Thats right! Beyoncé came AFTER Aaliyah who split with Jay-z upon him meeting Beyoncé. After Aaliyah and Jay- Z fell off she started dating Dame Dash and they were engaged to be married not too long before her death. People speculate that the reason Jay-Z and Dame Dash fell out was because of Aaliyah. Was it really? Or what is it Hov’s desire to branch alone and side up with the Illuminati who Dame Dash wasnt necessarily crazy about? Hmmmm sounds fishy!! Aside from this, Aaliyah’s body was not recovered immediately after the plane crash. Where was it?? We dont know but it was recovered sometime after the crash supposedly…..then she was “cremated.”

When I was younger, I got into a lot of shit. Some of that shit I can’t mention here for obvious reasons. I will discuss one piece of that shit which is shoplifting.

Around the age of 12, I began hanging out with a couple of the neighborhood troublemakers. At that time I heard stories about these guys but never managed to hang with any of them. When I did hang out them, I found that they were just like me. Young, poor, black, and misunderstood. We’d come together like Voltron in the neighborhood. It was kind of like a brotherhood.

Long story short. We did a bunch of shit we wasn’t supposed to. It mainly consisted of shoplifting or snatch and runs. Shoplifting is stealing out of a store on some sneaky shit. Snatch and runs are ran exactly how they sound. You go into a story (convenient stores usually), snatch how much shit you can, and RUN (word to Ghostface Killah).

Fortunately, I was arrested at the age of 14. My supposed right hand man and I both got caught together while shoplifting. I got caught because I came back into the store to see what the hell was taking him so long. Soon as I did that both of us were cuffed and taken in the security room of the store.

Now, this was my man! One of the few if you said something sideways about him I was two piecing you. If you fought him, you fought me. Brotherhood ftw! Or so I thought….

The security guard gave us two options. Call your parents/guardian and have them pick you up or be taken to the juvenile detention center and be dealt with there. He called his grandparents and they came to pick him up. Before they left I asked him to ask his grandparents to take me with them. He didn’t. I was well on my way to community service and a summer long juvenile delinquent program, while his grandparents just paid a fine.

A big thing on the internets is Beanie Sigel going at Jay Z. Beans feels how I felt six years ago; confused and in need of an explanation. He did all of this representing for Jay and when Beans felt like he was supposed to receive some of that back, he didn’t.

I have some advice for Beans. Stop focusing on the situation and find a way to better yourself. When my man did that shit to me [ll], I was hurt. At that moment I realized people use people to their advantage. It’s just up to you to not be taken advantage of, nahmean?

When that happened to me, I stop fucking with dude like that [ll]. I still said what up and dapped son up when I saw him. All of that other shit I used to do for him, stopped. We both went our separate ways.

This isn’t a post saying, “Beans suck it up!”. Its saying when a person fucks you over, leave them the fuck alone. I don’t agree with him throwing a diss track at Hov because this won’t sole his problem. Like he said, he needs to talk with his brother. But since his brother doesn’t want to talk to him, he should just drop it and move on like the rest of State Property.

Adway flipped through his notes, working out possible motives and plausible suspects. The list of those who would benefit from Knox’s death was remarkably small for a man who, long ago, created the first Turing collar. It was beyond belief that an angry robot could have committed the crime, and his colleagues all had solid gold alibis. The case was a bad deal from a loaded deck.
“Adway?”
The detective turned his attention to the door. A young man dressed in a Data Crime Unit uniform stood at the doorway, data pad in hand.
“That’s right. You boys don’t normally grace police stations with your presence.”
“Sir, if you could please accompany me. My superior has some matters to discuss with you.”
“Discuss? In private?”
“If you wouldn’t mind.”
“Why am I not surprised.” He slipped the notebook into a drawer and grabbed his coat as the DCU agent began leaving without him. “Hey, wait up.”

The DCU had full jurisdiction on anything they wanted, as long as a computer, robot or drone was within one hundred feet of the crime. In a city filled with forty-eight million robots of all shapes and sizes that wasn’t difficult. They only took the most interesting cases, or the ones they felt were in their best interest to investigate, leaving drudge work – like the Knox car bomb – to the idiots left in charge of the asylum.

“How long have you been with the police department?”
Adway let the flicker of a smile touch his lips as he responded to the question, “I can’t say that that is any of your business, Mr…”
“Answer the question.”
“Seven years. Now, can I ask what this is about, or-”
“In your seven years on the police force have you ever encountered a robot that didn’t need apps. One that could learn of its’ own free will. One that could attain sentience?”
“No. If you’re referring to the old Dartmouth Sentinels-”
“The Sentinel mk.2, actually. There is a shell of one of the final units in the Kitzmiller Museum Of History over on the East side.”
“That’s the museum with the robot dinosaurs who greet visitors in eight different languages, right?” The agent didn’t even crack a smile, and Adway was beginning to have doubts as to the wisdom of following him.

On the lower-level street, in the relative quiet of the department’s hovpark, the agent abruptly stopped. “I’m going to search you for weapons.”
“I’m carrying two firearms, a pocket knife and my comm.”
“You don’t have a PDA?”
“On my pay grade I’m lucky I don’t have to walk to the precinct every morning.”
“If you could hand over your firearms.”
Adway hesitated. “And what’s to stop you putting a round between my eyes?”
“If I wanted to kill you you’d have never seen my face.”
“Now, why doesn’t that make me feel any better?” He unholstered his weapons and handed them over, regretting his actions as soon as the agent took possession of them.
“Thank you.”
“Now, how about telling me why you’re asking questions about antique robots?”
A black vehicle slowly descended from the street level above their heads, throwing around the trash on the ground as its’ displacement generator worked overtime. Unmarked, and bearing number plates which Adway instantly recognized as those of the DCU, it served as a reminder of how under-funded the police force was.
“You guys sure love your flashy entrances, don’t you?” Adway muttered under his breath.
“General Lehman will answer any questions you have.”
Watching the oversized transport adjust its’ landing gears, wondering how much such an advanced piece of equipment cost. “My tax dollars at work.”

The side door slid open silently. Adway followed the agent inside, where an older man was sitting by a bank of monitors. The man turned, one hand hovering over the console panel in readiness for any trouble.
“I’ve secured his weapons, General.”
“You’re excused.”
The agent exited the vehicle, and as he did so the door slid back into place again.
“So… Who pimped this ride?”
“This is one of our special transporters. You down-towners don’t know what you’re missing, but that’s beside the point. I asked you here to-”
“Correction, sir. You had one of your lackeys bring me here. You didn’t ask me jack shit.”
The General visibly relaxed, humor playing on his features, “I like you. You speak your mind. There’s not many people who talk to me like I’m their equal any more, and that- That’s something I miss.”
“You had me brought here to talk about antiques.”
“A very specific antique.”
“A Dartmouth Sentinel.”
“Correct.”
“Well, in that case do you mind if I have a seat?”
The General indicated a chair. “Be my guest. I have a feeling this is going to take some time.”

20 Years Later…

Knox opened the gull-wing of his hov and slipped into the passenger seat, the sensors automatically adjusting to his preferred morning settings. The front windscreen glazed over, bringing his HUD into clear focus, with temperature, hydraulics, electronics and remaining fuel shown in silvery bars. The available streams scrolling across the media player interface shuddered briefly, and Knox paused.
“Status report.”
‘All functions within normal parameters’ appeared in the center of the window.
The glitch didn’t appear to be significant. Knox cursed the intrusion of another problem with the vehicle into his routine. Routine was important. There would be time enough to get the software seen to after his morning schedule, but the meetings prepared for the morning could not be missed.
“Log event.”
‘Event logged.’

Closing the door, Knox leaned over to the passenger-side foot well and placed his briefcase in the drawer compartment under the dash. The speakers squelched, then fell into a steady stream of white noise.
“Status report.”
‘All functions within normal parameters’ appeared for a moment before the HUD pixellated, fragments of words, images and numbers spread across the display. Blocks of color interrupted the view to the street beyond.
“What the-”

Knox felt himself lifting from his seat as the explosion from beneath the hov pushed upwards, flames and pressure acting on flesh and bone. The windscreen cracked with the heat, the chair beneath him igniting. Pushed forward again as the hov fell, the airbag caught Knox unawares, and the last thing he heard before his eardrums burst was the hydrogen fuel cell hissing. In an eyeblink he was consumed by flame, and any lingering thoughts are extinguished.

Detective Adway stepped through the police cordon, “Who’s the crispy critter?”
“The name’s Knox, one of the software big shots at Delos.”
“Any word on when the techs are gonna be here?”
“Save for the pick-up crew, everyone has been and gone already.”
“What am I, an afterthought?”
“The first officers on the scene thought it was a malfunction.”
Adway’s comm chirruped. Flipping open the case a new message was displayed in his in-box.
“I’ll be back in a minute.”
The stream from which the message originated was encrypted. Secret callers were so rare that the appearance of an unlisted message was all but unheard of.

Stand by the stream and watch what floats by.

Adway turned to the young officer standing guard over the scene. “What exactly did Knox do?”
“I think he was in charge of the app development division.”
“At Delos?”
“That’s what I was told.”

Jay-Z Responds To Beanie Sigel

Jay-Z was doing BP3 press in Montreal yesterday. And when asked how he felt about Beanie Sigel’s “diss track” and interview where he says Jay left him high and dry and Def Jam, Hov had some words himself. Beanie Sigel No Likey Jay-Z

They were once BFFs, but–like typical rap beefs–sounds like money is breaking them up. Beanie Sigel just released a diss track against his good friend Jay-Z called “I Aint Ya Average”. Hip Hop heads say all this is over Jay not letting Beans out of his Def Jam contract and Jay pickin gup and leaving the label with no explanation. And Beans says Jay is being extra greedy with everything. Sounds like a Diddy move.
Jay-Z even supposedly called the cops on Beans when he showed up at on of Hov’s BP3 tour stops. This ish might just get ugly….
