dwm (Dynamic Window Managr) is a Tiling Window Manager that is simple, elegant and don’t get i

dwm (Dynamic Window Managr) is a Tiling Window Manager that is simple, elegant and don’t get in your way. The above screenshot is from my dwm setup.

1) Download dwm here.

2) Install the required dependencies:

sudo apt-get install build-essential libx11-dev libxinerama-dev sharutils

3) Extract the dwm package you’ve downloaded.

4) If you want to customise the appearance and behaviour of dwm, you need to re-compile it, but it is really easy. The customisations are done through the config.def.h file. If you don’t want to study the config setup right now, do it later and just grab some config.def.h on the Internet to use as base, or look into my references below for more info. You can grab my custom config as base if you want, here.

5) Compile it:

sudo make clean install

6) Now you need to create a entry in the login manager session list:

sudo gedit /usr/share/xsessions/dwm.desktop

Paste and save this:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=dwm
Comment=This session starts dwm
Exec=/usr/local/bin/dwm
Type=Application

Now you just need to log out and choose dwm in the session list : )
For every time you want to modify dwm, you need to re-compile it, just extract the package again, make your customisations and re-compile it, it will rewrite the installed dwm, so you don’t need to worry about erasing the old one first : )

Install the RPM Fusion Repositories, if you didn’t already.

su -

Add the following to the end of the line(s) starting with ‘kernel’:

dblacklist=nouveau

Now:

setsebool -P allow_execstack on

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Agregar los repos:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu karmic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu karmic main

Karmic:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bean123ch/burg

Agregar la llave (GPG key):

gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv 55708F1EE06803C5
gpg --export --armor 55708F1EE06803C5 | sudo apt-key add -

Actualizar e instalar:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install grub-pc

wget http://grub4dos.sourceforge.net/themes.tar.bz2

Los extraemos a /boot/grub/themes:

sudo tar -xjf themes.tar.bz2 -C /

Despues,editamos /etc/default/grub:

sudo gedit /etc/default/grub

y borramos “#”(sin astericos) presente antes de:

GRUB_TERMINAL=console

Ahora,editar /etc/grub.d/40_custom:

sudo gedit /etc/grub.d/40_custom

set gfxmode="640x480"
set gfxfont="Unifont Regular 16"
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/unifont.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/aqui.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/edges.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/lime.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/7x13B.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/smoothansi.pf2
loadfont /boot/grub/themes/fonts/Helvetica-Bold-14.pf2
insmod vbe
insmod png
insmod coreui
load_config /boot/grub/themes/proto/theme.txt

ubuntu theme:

load_config /boot/grub/themes/ubuntu/theme.txt

winter theme:

load_config /boot/grub/themes/winter/theme.txt

proto theme:

load_config /boot/grub/themes/proto/theme.txt

sudo update-grub

Enjoy!.

How to check Oracle processes in windows using command line? Oracle DBA monitors oracle processes on

How to check Oracle processes in windows using command line?

Oracle DBA monitors oracle processes on unix using ps command. It is rumor that there is no alternate command available in windows for checking oracle proceses on windows. This technical tip helps Oracle DBA for monitoring Oracle processes on windows using command line.

Burning problem of Oracle DBA is how to check Oracle process in Windows while GUI not available (May be in Remote database monitoring). In unix it is very easy for administrating using ps command. Is there any alternate available in Windows? When we will ask this question get no answer for same. Because lack of knowledge of command line for Windows. Here you can get help for same which command is available for performing same task of Oracle DBA.

Is there any command in Windows like ps command in Unix for Oracle DBA?

How to check Oracle processes in windows. This is burning problem for every Oracle DBA.

In unix there is command called “ps“. Using ps command Oracle DBA can check all type of processes which are running in system. Ps command is very useful to administrating and monitoring oracle in unix/linux systems for all Oracle DBA.

But unfortunately there is no command available in windows just like ps in unix! Means there is no way to find out running processes in windows system using command line! Only task manager option is available in windows system for Oracle DBA. Using task manager we can check running processes in windows system. Task manager is GUI tool. Sometimes it is very difficult to monitoring and administrating Oracle on windows systems for Oracle DBA using GUI tool.

Alternate of ps command in windows (Great tip for Oracle DBA):

Windows has own command to trace all running processes in the system. Using “tasklist” command Oracle DBA can able to trace all running processes in windows including oracle,sqlplus,exp,imp and others. Tasklist command is very closer to ps command. Using tasklist command Oracle DBA can able to access process ids, session ids, cpu time, and modules of running processes in Oracle on Windows.

No it is not TRUE. Really !!!

Please check help of tasklist command.

C:\>tasklist /?

Means using tasklist or tasklist -v command we can monitor and manage our oracle processes.

Now never tell that you don’t have ps command for windows !!!

All the best,

Comando:

sudo cp -i /home/nombre_de_usuario/Desktop/start-here.svg /usr/share/icons/Humanity/places/24/start-here.svg

Output:

cp: overwrite `/usr/share/icons/Humanity/places/24/start-here.svg'? y

sudo mv /usr/share/icons/Humanity/places/24/start-here.svg /home/nico/Desktop

Ahora,si es necesario:

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/Humanity/

o para reconstruir el panel (screen)

killall gnome-panel

Listo.

sudo mv /usr/share/icons/Humanity/places/24/start-here.svg /home/nico/Desktop && sudo cp -i /home/nombre_de_usuario/Desktop/start-here.svg /usr/share/icons/Humanity/places/24/start-here.svg && killall gnome-panel

sudo chmod -R a+rwx /usr/share/icons

destination mail { file(“/var/log/mail.log”); };

filter mail { facility(mail); };

filter notmail { not facility(mail); };

log { source(src); filter(mail); destination(mail); };

In an older post I explained how to create a bond interface in Debian Etch… now, this doesn

In an older post I explained how to create a bond interface in Debian Etch… now, this doesn’t work anymore due to some changes in Lenny.

So, long story short, first of all, install ifenslave

# apt-get install ifenslave-2.6

edit
/etc/network/interfaces
and add the bond0 config:

auto bond0
iface bond0 inet static
address 192.168.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
broadcast 192.168.1.255
gateway 192.168.1.1
# dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed
dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1
up /sbin/ifenslave bond0 eth0 eth1
down /sbin/ifenslave -d bond0 eth0 eth1

now edit
/etc/modprobe.d/arch/x86_64
(change the filename depending on your architecture) and add these lines

alias bond0 bonding
options bonding mode=1 miimon=100 downdelay=200 updelay=200

Brief explanation:

miimon N: check if the active interface(s) is alive every N milliseconds

downdelay N: wait N milliseconds after a detected link failure to consider the link down

updelay N: wait N milliseconds after a detected link restoration to consider the link up

mode N: 1 means master/slave configuration, so there’s only one active master. If this link fails, then slave is used.

For a more complete description of all the possible parameters, refer to Linux Documentation/networking/bonding.txt

After this, you can restart networking or reboot if you are working remotely and it should work without a problem. It did for me

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-boot/ppa

Actualizar:

sudo apt-get update

Instalar utilizando el comando siguiente:

sudo sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

o se puede instalar Linux,ureadahead packages

Esto instalará todos los paquetes requeridos.
