Is it me or has Firefox turned into the new IE? I remember when I first used FF, I was positively impressed: the browser was light, fast, practical (IE still hadn’t implemented tabbed browsing, and I had come straight from it), secure… However, with every new version it seems to stray farther and farther away from all these qualities and get closer to IE.

Maybe their project got too big. As a result of their gains on the markey share, FF is now being targeted more often, so more vulnerabilities are being found in it. The browser was elected the least secure of all 4 major web browsers in 2009. Don’t believe me? Check out the report. However, what really puts me off is the fact that they’re making the browser heavier and slower with every update. Sure, every website you run into today will be fully compatible with Firefox, but you know what? I’d rather have it be as light as before, and just use IE whenever I needed to access a single website that didn’t comply with its protocols.

Google Chrome seems to be playing the role of the new, lightweight, practical browser nowadays. And to my surprise, the vast majority of websites are compatible with it and work just fine. Eventually you’ll meet some malfunctioning features on smaller websites, but Google’s doing a good job so far. Hopefully, they won’t follow the tendency and will keep away from whatever it is that makes browsers get worse as they become more widely used.

…snart…

Gue sama sekali belum pernah. Bahkan untuk masuk kedalam Monas-nya pun baru sekali. Itupun (seingat gue) sewaktu masih SD. Kalau ditaman-tamannya sih sudah sering.

Pas sampai disekitar Monas, teman gue sempat bingung mencari pintu masuknya. Lokasinya berada disebelah utara Monas. Pokoknya cari saja tulisan seperti dibawah ini.

Nanti ikutin saja jalan yang ada disana. Nggak akan nyasar. Kebangetan banget kalau sampai nyasar. hihi.

Dibawah bakal ketemu sama loket 1.

Setelah bayar, langsung gue menuju lift. Lumayan lama lho nunggunya. Untungnya nggak terlalu banyak yang mengantri. Soalnya gue kesana bukan hari libur.

Disediakan disana. Tinggal masukin koin saja. Kalau nggak salah bayar Rp. 2000. Tapi gue sih males. Namanya juga lagi stress. hu hu hu.

Akhirnya gue berada disana cuma 15 menit. Trus gue turun. Gue nunggu teman gue dari bawah saja. Benar-benar melelahkan.

Stocks are higher following gains in overseas markets Investors are building on last week’s mo

Stocks are higher following gains in overseas markets

Investors are building on last week’s momentum that sent major indexes to their highest levels of the year, pushing stocks higher in early trading.

The moderate advance Monday follows gains in overseas markets. Oil and other commodities are higher, while Treasury prices are mostly lower ahead of the government’s latest round of auctions.

Investors were encouraged by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s declaration Friday that the economy is on the verge of recovery. Though there are no major economic reports scheduled for Monday, later this week traders will look to data on housing and the consumer to determine if Bernanke’s upbeat view can be backed up by actual activity.

There have already been signs of recovery in the battered housing market. But consumers are still struggling. Analysts say the market may drift ahead of the consumer confidence data.

On Tuesday, the Conference Board releases its monthly consumer confidence index. Reuters and the University of Michigan report their final consumer sentiment figures for August on Friday.

Improved consumer confidence and spending is widely seen as one of the keys that could help end the recession. Consumer spending accounts for more than two-thirds of all economic activity.

Stocks edged higher despite a worse-than-expected weekly jobs report The Labor Department said new c

Stocks edged higher despite a worse-than-expected weekly jobs report

The Labor Department said new claims for unemployment benefits jumped unexpectedly to 576,000 last week. Economists, who are hoping for a return to economic growth this year, had predicted a decline.

However, U.S. stocks got some support from a rebound in overseas markets. In China, the Shanghai market bounced back from a sharp sell-off and the major European indexes were all up about 1 percent.

Treasury prices fell after several days of gains — a sign that investors were feeling a bit more optimistic about the economy’s prospects. Demand for government debt, considered a safe-haven asset, tends to rise when investors are nervous about the economy.

Investors also were poring over more earnings reports from retailers and other companies that directly serve the consumer. The news from Sears Holdings Corp. wasn’t good; the retailer posted a bigger loss than expected in the second quarter as its sales fell and it closed stores.

Other companies, though, beat Wall Street’s expectations. H.J. Heinz Co. said its fiscal first-quarter profit fell due to in part to the stronger dollar, but results topped analysts’ estimates. And Hormel Foods Corp. said its third-quarter profit rose 49 percent, exceeding analyst projections.

Stocks have been trading erratically this week as investors, absorbing mixed economic signals, have alternated between optimism and pessimism about a recovery.

In early trading, the Dow Jones industrials rose 28.41, or 0.3 percent, to 9,307.57. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 5.25, or 0.5 percent, to 1,001.71, while the Nasdaq composite index gained 11.37, or 0.6 percent, to 1,980.61.

HearAtLast Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of suitable affordable solutions to clients with hearing needs in the billion dollar hearing loss market, announced the addition of Pierre Lafontaine to its senior management team. In his new role as Managing Director and GM, Pierre will focus on expansion and restructuring of existing clinics with an emphasis on increased revenue generation through community outreach programs and clinic overhead reductions.

Stocks are slightly higher after smaller-than-expected GDP drop eases recession worries

Investors reacted coolly to a report the nation’s economy continued to shrink, but at a smaller pace than expected.

The government said the nation’s gross domestic product, a measure of the economy’s total output, slowed at a rate of 1 percent during the quarter. That was better than the 1.5 percent drop expected by analysts.

The report also found that consumers cut their spending in the second quarter, a troubling sign as consumer spending accounts for more than two-thirds of all U.S. economic activity.

The report is the strongest sign yet that the recession is winding down. However, the Commerce Department revised the first-quarter GDP figure much lower, saying economic activity tumbled 6.4 percent. That is the worst quarterly reading in nearly 30 years.

The latest report also said consumers cut spending by 1.2 percent in the second quarter, after a 0.6 percent increase in the first quarter.

Investors have been looking to consumers to help lead the economy out of a recession. Spending has been cut as consumers continue to worry about jobs. The unemployment rate is expected to move higher after hitting a 26-year high of 9.5 percent in June.

In midmorning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 11.49, or 0.1 percent, to 9,142.97. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 3.25, or 0.3 percent, to 983.50, while the Nasdaq composite rose 3.30, or 0.2 percent, to 1,981.00.

American Green Group, Inc. reminds investors that today is the last day for shareholders of record to receive the 5 for 1 forward split; in order to receive the dividend you MUST be a shareholder of record on the close of today.

AMNE through its wholly owed subsidiary Paradigm Polymers announced a pending Strategic Alliance Agreement with Alderman Research Ltd. (AR) a Delaware Corporation. AR president, Robert J.
