I hate Christmas as much as anyone, but this is taking the war too far. What about the truce in that Snoopy song? Is there any justification for starting and getting personal on Christmas Eve?

Radio hosts Matt Fox and A.J. Rice created a racist parody of Jose Feliciano’s ‘Feliz Navidad’ called ‘Illegals in my Yard’ that was posted on conservative website ‘Human Events’. Conservatives love this stuff I guess. Jose Feliciano didn’t love it so much…

“When I wrote and composed ‘Feliz Navidad,’ I chose to sing in both English and Spanish in order to create a bridge between two wonderful cultures during the time of year in which we hope for goodwill toward all,” the Puerto Rico-born singer said.

You can’t have goodwill getting started at Christmas. You have to be pumped up to bark at teenage store clerks who are probably wondering by now what it is safe to wish you. Holiday, Christmas, Hanukkah, Epiphany, Festivus… Perhaps it is better to keep silent.

A soft answer turneth away wrath, says an old book. A graceful apology can do much to repair social damage says Miss Manners. But what on earth is this?

“We regret any offense that Mr. Feliciano may have taken from this parody,” [web site editor Jed] Babbin said in an e-mail sent to The Associated Press.

That’s not an apology. They’re just regretting that they couldn’t have their joke uninterrupted by the guy whose song they stole and violated. I think that Miss Manners would have smiled serenely and slipped the latch on the mastiff pen.

I don’t know anything about Messrs Fox, Rice or Babbin. What little I know makes me wonder if they were raised by ignorant and incompetent parents or were just unteachable. No offense intended. Sensitive, aren’t they?

It must feel pretty safe from where they are. They can throw gratuitous and unprovoked insults at random groups of people who just might vote in 2010.

Don’t take anything for granted. Remember Florida in 2000, when Americans came to the polls and were turned away because a corrupt Secretary of State hired a consulting firm to purge the voting list. This is not Selma in 1965 but the battle is not won. The price of Liberty is eternal vigilance. Secure your vote, and then use it. Voting is not just a right, it’s a duty.

Historical Context: Via Talk to Action– The Calvinist Scots knew how to fight the irreligious decadents who would profane the sacred meaning of Christmas. They’d use your tree for kindling and toss you in jail while they fed your plum pudding to the pigs. You’d spend the holy day sitting on a hard wooden pew in an unheated church and learn to like it.

Sometimes, I simply do not get Human Events. Last year, they named Sarah Palin as their Conservative of the Year and I got it. She introduced a whole new generation of voters to the GOP and had a way of putting complex policy into simple language that might not have made it understandable, but at least made it homey sounding. She also helped lead a historic Presidential campaign with John McCain. I started the most influential blog on the right, but conservative circles are filled with influential blogs.

This year however, should have been my year. Friends told me I was a shoe in. Instead, the award went to Dick Cheney. Now, I am a big fan of Dick Cheney. Don’t get me wrong here. However, this year let’s look at our accomplishments.

Dick Cheney
Criticized the President of the United States on a near weekly basis.

Now don’t get me wrong, that’s great. We need to keep the heat on the Obama administration. In fact, Human Events says, “The irrefutable answer is that what Cheney is saying, primarily on foreign policy, defense and anti-terrorism, makes sense to more and more American citizens growing increasingly worried by the Obama Administration’s insouciance when U.S. national interests are threatened, both at home and abroad.”

That’s great. Now, let’s look at what I accomplished this year:

Nate Peele

Criticized the President of the United States on a near daily basis

Broke the story of liberal bias on PBS kids show Boobah.

Took a courageous stand demanding that President Obama not kill Sarah Palin’s family

Created a grassroots campaign to shop white owned businesses.

Started the Nate Peele Scholarship Foundation

Established Saint Jing-Tao-Wow Day on March 31 with Lou Dobbs.

Exposed Obama’s plan to replace English was Esperanto.

Created a GOP rap video Republican Delight at the urging of Michael Steele

Created the salute to the GOP congress that unlike Eric Cantor’s Aerosmith didn’t ban

Broke the story of Obama being sworn in on the Koran

Led successful boycott of Department of Homeland Security.

Now, I don’t want this to sound like sour grapes. I’m not posting this to attack Dick Cheney or to say that I should be Conservative of the Year, but I think when you compare our accomplishments during just 2009, I come out significantly ahead. I believe the reason that I lost is that John Bolton is intimidated by my mustache.

12/16/2009

Tomorrow morning, the delegates at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen will awaken to a very simple but powerful message:

“In America, We Have a Constitution. It Begins: We the People…”

These are the opening lines of a message to the American delegates in Copenhagen and the rest of the world sent on behalf of the American people by American Solutions. They are meant as a reminder to both Obama Administration officials and international climate activists that under our constitutional system, the American people, not government bureaucrats, are sovereign.

Ronald Reagan was right when he said that America is a nation that has a government — not the other way around.

And if you have any doubt that the delegates at Copenhagen need to hear this message, take a look at this:

This is a reference guide being handed out by one of the non-governmental organizations at Copenhagen to keep track of all the proposals to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation. Its purposefully modeled after the Chinese mass murderer Mao Tse-Tung’s “Little Red Book of Communism.”

Can the profoundly undemocratic nature of this conference be any clearer?

Congress Has the Power to Protect the Constitution. It Should Use It.

American Solutions’ message to the Obama Administration and the Copenhagen delegates is this:

President Obama cannot bind the American people to job killing international agreements on climate change without the advice and consent of the United States Senate.

Similarly, he can’t bypass the peoples’ representatives in Congress by having the EPA pursue the same goals through bureaucratic totalitarianism.

This message to the President is also a message to Congress. Should the Obama Administration act unilaterally and subvert the Constitution, the American people will rightfully rise up in opposition.

Congress has the power to protect its constitutional role and protect the people’s voice in how we’re governed. It should use it.

Substituting the Advice and Consent of the Senate with the Bureaucratic Power of the EPA

When he travels to Copenhagen this week, President Obama is reportedly going to pledge to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent by 2020.

The Obama Administration’s various threats to act unilaterally — both in Copenhagen and at home via the EPA — to achieve this goal occur against the backdrop of this inescapable fact: The Senate, reflecting the will of the American people, refuses to pass the administration’s job killing cap and trade legislation.

The result is that the administration is preparing to bypass the Senate with its announcement last week that the EPA will regulate carbon dioxide as a dangerous pollutant.

Knowing that it lacks the votes in the Senate to ratify any binding commitment made in Copenhagen to radically lower emissions, the administration may well attempt to use the EPA’s newly asserted power — thus bypassing Senate ratification — to implement the agreement.

This would be a breathtakingly anti-democratic and unconstitutional arrogation of power on the part of the President. But it is exactly what some groups are pressuring the President to do. See this report, “Yes He Can: President Obama’s Power to Make an International Climate Commitment Without Waiting for Congress” by the Center for Biological Diversity Climate Law Institute.

And Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass.), the co-author of the energy tax in the House of Representatives, stated this past weekend on “Fox News Sunday”, in response to Chris Wallace’s question about whether President Obama could make a binding commitment at Copenhagen, that “without question, the President does have the authority to make a commitment based upon the endangerment finding — that is the authority the EPA will have.”

Such action would be a corruption of America’s constitutional system that the Congress must reverse.

Does Senator Webb Believe the Authority of the EPA Can Substitute for the Authority of the Senate?

Some senators seem to get this. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) stated flatly that the President doesn’t have the power to make binding emissions reductions commitments at Copenhagen.

And Virginia Democratic Senator Jim Webb recently wrote an open letter to President Obama in which he warned the President not to make binding commitments at Copenhagen.

“As you well know from your time in the Senate,” wrote Webb, “only specific legislation agreed upon in the Congress, or a treaty ratified by the Senate, could actually create such a commitment on behalf of our country.”

But Senator Webb wrote his letter before the EPA unilaterally declared the government’s right to regulate carbon dioxide.

And so the question must be asked of Senator Webb: Does he believe that the authority of the EPA can substitute for the constitutional authority of the Senate — authority that he has so courageously defended?

Radical Environmentalism Is “The New Socialism”

Columnist Charles Krauthammer calls the shake down occurring in Copenhagen and the EPA’s domestic power grab “the new socialism.”

Following the death of the old socialism with the Soviet empire, writes Krauthammer, “the cultural elites went straight from the memorial service for socialism to the altar of the environment. The objective is the same: highly centralized power given to the best and the brightest, the new class of experts and technocrats. This time, however, the alleged justification is saving the planet.”

And if the question is, “Will the new socialism succeed?” the answer is, “Not if the American people have anything to do with it.”

The American People, United, Will Never Be Defeated

Last year, the “drill here, drill now” movement succeeded in removing both the executive and legislative bans on drilling offshore to capture American energy [www.americansolutions.com/drill].

The American people’s success in “drill here, drill now” opened up a national conversation on freeing America from dependence on foreign dictators for our oil. Americans began to understand and believe that We Have the Power (see Callista’s and my movie on energy of the same name) to safely develop our own energy reserves and technology to achieve energy independence.

Today, American Solutions is issuing a similar rallying cry to the American people.

Our message is that no imperial presidency, no totalitarian bureaucracy, and no global international elite can or will usurp the power of We the People.

I conclude today, the 236th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, with the full text of our ad, which will appear in the daily newspaper of the Copenhagen conference tomorrow:

MESSAGE FROM AMERICA
TO THE AMERICAN DELEGATES IN COPENHAGEN
AND THE REST OF THE WORLD

In America, We Have a Constitution
It Begins: “We the People”

Our Constitution Requires International Agreements
to Be Agreed Upon By our Senate

Our President Does Not Have Support in our Senate
for Binding Carbon Emissions Limits

Our Environmental Protection Agency Recently Asserted It Has the
Power to Impose Carbon Emissions Limits

Such Action would be Tantamount to our Executive Branch Taxing the American People without
Approval from the Elected Representatives in our Legislative Branch

That’s Called “Taxation without Representation” and
We Will Not Stand for it

The American Revolution and a Famous Tea Party in
Boston in 1773 Was About Rejecting Taxation without Representation

We Reject Taxation without Representation even if it
is attempted by our President through an
international “political” agreement like the
Copenhagen 15

Through Our Election Process, our Presidents, Representatives, and Administrators Are
Accountable to the American People

Unlike Other Countries, We Do Not Have a
Democracy Deficit

In America, Mesdames and Messieurs, We the People Govern

It is amazing how members of my own party use a tragic event involving four deaths to further their own political agenda by burying a guy they have hated all along using anything but the facts.

This is Governor Mike Huckabee’s Human Events article in which he lays out the facts:

Washington State Tragedy

by Mike Huckabee

12/01/2009

The senseless and savage slaying of 4 police officers in Lakewood, Washington has raised many questions as to why the alleged murderer was even on the streets. My name has figured prominently in many of the stories because I commuted his 108 year sentence to a term of 47 years back in 2000. I take full responsibility for my decision then. Unfortunately, many of my fellow conservatives don’t seem to want to take responsibility for the facts surrounding the case.

The Maurice Clemmons presented in a commutation request in the year 2000 was much different than the one who is being sought for the killings of the police officers.

The case before me was of a 16 year old who received a disproportionate sentence of 108 years for burglary and robbery charges. He had already served 11 years in Arkansas prison by that time, which is more time actually served than most similar cases would have netted in sentencing alone. Under Arkansas law, governors don’t parole anyone. The Post Prison Transfer Board does. That board can recommend clemency, and in this case recommended by a 5-0 vote that his sentence be reduced. This was one of 1000-1200 cases I reviewed each of the 10 and a half years as governor. Ninety-two percent of the time, any request for clemency was denied. Most of the ones granted were for clearing a person’s record for a minor offense from 20 years previous. The trial judge in the case supported the commutation. During the legally required 30 day public comment period before action on the case was complete, there were no objections registered by my office by any authorities, despite claims of the local prosecutor that he “was afraid something like this would happen.” Interestingly, if he was so afraid, then he has failed to explain why in 2004 when Clemmons was back in prison for a parole violation, his office failed to pursue charges and in fact dropped them, allowing Clemmons to go free, move to Washington, and for reasons beyond me, continue to avoid extradition back to Arkansas or be kept by Washington authorities as he displayed signs of psychotic behavior. I am responsible for the commutation in 2000. I would not have commuted his sentence in 2004 after the re-arrest or in any of the years following. I can explain my decision in 2000. I cannot explain the decision of the very vocal prosecutor in Little Rock who seems to avoid answering the questions as to why he didn’t keep Clemmons in prison in 2004 or get him brought back to Arkansas for his repeated parole violations.

There are some glaring facts that some conservative talkers seem to miss:

1. He was never pardoned. Amazingly, that word has been used to describe my actions 9 years ago. He was never even considered for a pardon.

2. The commutation didn’t release him. It made him parole eligible. He had to meet the conditions of parole for the parole board, who in fact paroled him. He had been in prison for 11 years at the time of his release.

3. Despite news reports, there are no records that the prosecutor, law enforcement, the Attorney General, or victims objected to the commutation. The only responses my office had record of during the public comment period were support letters from the trial judge, and members of the community.

4. He was back in prison by 2004 and would have remained there until 2015 due to his parole violations had the prosecutor chosen to properly file the paperwork.

5. The Clemmons of 2000 did not exhibit traits of psychosis and the kind of behavior that he would later express during several arrests in Washington state during the past year.

6. Religion had nothing to do with the commutation. It’s been erroneously expressed that my own personal faith or the claims of faith of the inmate factored into my decision. That is simply not true and nothing in the record even suggests it. The reasons were straightforward — a unanimous recommendation from the board, support from a trial judge and no objections from officials in a case that involved a 16 year old sentenced to a term that was exponentially longer than similar cases and certainly longer than had he been white, upper middle class, and represented by effective counsel who would have clearly objected to the sentencing. (His race, economic status, or education level are not excuses for his behavior because many people of color who are uneducated and living in abject poverty are civil, trustworthy, and honest to a fault and many well-educated, wealthy, white people are dirtbags — think Bernie Madoff). But sadly, Arkansas has had numerous instances of disproportionate sentencing in which a probation and fine would be meted out to white upper class kids whose parents were able to obtain the services of excellent defense attorneys, while young black males committing the same crimes and represented by public defenders would end up with inexplicably long prison terms. Blacks comprise 15% of the state’s population, but 50% of the inmate population, some of which is due to the fact that their sentences are often longer and they are less likely to be paroled.

The two professions I value most in our society are soldiers and police officers, with fireman and schoolteachers right behind. Soldiers and police officers are the line between us and anarchy. The death of the four officers in Lakewood should never have happened. I regret that I ever saw the name of Maurice Clemmons and that I commuted his sentence and made him eligible for parole. That is my responsibility and it was based on the evidence before me in 2000. If presented the same facts today, I would have acted in the same manner. But once he violated that parole and his second chance in 2004, he should not have received the treatment he appeared to have received from the Arkansas prosecutor or the officials in Washington, who failed to send him back to prison and who let him go free on bail even after repeated violent outbursts and a rape charge from this past year. I can take responsibility for my actions, but not for the actions of others nor the misinformed words of commentators.

Has anyone else noticed that if you set aside the vitriolic, hate-filled rhetoric, the irrational ‘argumentation’, and the fact that they are working toward the complete and total destruction of nearly anything compassionate, sane or decent; that these right-wing nutjob websites are like reading the Onion?

Just look at some of the Human Events headlines for today (this is funnier than the Jay Leno show, who I don’t really care for):

Pelosi’s Kamikazes?
Pelosicare’s Costly Formula
Obama and the Abolition of Marriage
The Unaccountable Obama Czar State
Obama’s One-World Government
Dismantling America Parts I and II

Eeessshh, these guys are dingbats… Didn’t the Bell Curve ostensibly ‘prove’ that these kind of folks were the smart ones? Of course, that was a bucket full of holes, like nearly everything put out there by the right-wing.

Glenn Beck is funny. The renowned television and radio host Glenn Beck has made a momentous discover

Glenn Beck is funny.

The renowned television and radio host Glenn Beck has made a momentous discovery. Beck, author of the #1 New York Times bestsellers An Inconvenient Book and Glenn Beck’s Common Sense, has found the secret formula for how to win arguments — not just once or twice, but every time — against people with big mouths but small minds. You know, the type of people who are more loudmouthed and assertive than ever in Barack Obama’s America.

If that’s the case, then I won’t even finish this response. But somehow I doubt it. I doubt that there is really a ‘cure-all’ for arguments with “people with big mouths and small minds.” Trust me, I’ve looked for one. It ain’t there, and if it is, Glenn Beck is not going to be the one to discover it. The guy’s ridiculous.

It’s simple: all you have to do is know the facts.

Lies! Simply knowing facts will not win you a debate. You need rhetoric, passion, impression. Facts are dull and require sprucing. Perhaps more importantly, it is possible — and even easy sometimes — to win a debate without having any facts whatsoever.

For instance, here are the facts you need when you’re minding your own business and some liberal idiot with an Obama bumper sticker on his car smugly tells you that guns are evil and that gun control prevents gun violence. Armed with Arguing with Idiots, you’ll be able to tell him all about England’s disastrous and short-sighted handgun ban (see page 53).

(Note: I support the Second Amendment. Also note that I know nothing about this handgun ban.) The reason for the handgun ban’s failure wasn’t because the idea was bad, but is because it was implemented incorrectly. If Parliament (does Britain still have parliament?) had not written up and implemented the policy so ineffectively, it would have been fine. Besides, this circumstantial evidence is not enough to prove anything. America is not Britain. The two cultures are very different. And frankly, America could use a gun ban right now.

Or when some aging gray-ponytailed hipster praises Obama’s attempt to socialize healthcare, you can recount the horrifying facts about nationalized medicine that you can find on page 244.

This one is kind of cheating, since I don’t know what these “horrifying facts” are. If no argument is given, no refutation is necessary. Don’t let some aging gray-haired conservative Bible thumper tell you what to do.

And the next time a self- righteous “meat is murder” vegetarian sounds the chicken- little alarm about how vegetable prices will skyrocket without illegal workers, you’ll be able to say much more than “No, they won’t”: you’ll say: “Actually, eliminating all illegal labor will cause us to spend just $8 a year more on produce” (see page 139).

Wait, there are actually people who argue that “meat is murder”, therefore we should continue what is essentially slave labor in order to keep vegetable prices down? That position is virtually indefensible. But I suppose that that sort of argument is about on Glenn Beck’s level.

The Post Office: a perfect example of how government meddling can prevent an organization from ever reaching its full potential

Yeah, we can deliver letters and packages across the country within days! . . . which is terrible. Right?

Why the people who believe that our politicians can be trained to run government more efficiently are wrong

Yeah, because a little education is a terrible thing!

How French socialism has created an unsustainable society that the United States should avoid imitating at all costs

Which is why France has a successful economy, high life expectancy, plenty of freedom, and happy citizens.

Why nothing illustrates the battle between the good forces of individual liberty and the destructive, idiotic forces of collectivism better than the ongoing battle over the Second Amendment

Because people helping each other is terrible. No, what we want is for self-centered bigots to run around shooting people they don’t like. That is a far better outlook on the future.

The shocking statement by the Violence Policy Center that reveals the amazing dishonesty of the gun-grabbers

Uh . . . what’s a gun-grabber?

How the statistical games played by gun prohibitionists are more creative than Charlie Rangel’s excuses for why he didn’t follow the tax laws he was in charge of writing

It takes a good deal of creativity to get statistics into a meaningful form. I’ll bet Glenn Beck can’t do it. He will only show raw statistics, so uncleanly that the untrained eye may accidentally get the impression that the statistics actually favor Mister Beck.

Revealed: how some of the biggest opponents of alternative energy happen to be members of the green movement

Says the guy who believes that global warming is a leftist plot thought up by the Atheist Communist tyrranical Al Gore.

How the progressive methodology that dominates American public discourse today values empathy over fact

Empathy is based on fact. And if your child is drowning, do you take the empathetic route and save your child, or do you recite the “fact” that only 2% of children die from drowning so your child will probably live?

How bringing up the fact that a few of the millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S. might be terrorists will get you labeled a fearmonger and a racist

Because you are a fearmonger and a racist. You should be worried about heart disease. Or swine flu. Heck, you’re more likely to die of a bicycle crash then from terrorism. How do you like that statistic?

Why it may not be the soundest economic idea to buy a home

Let me guess: because home prices will drop, you won’t be able to sell it, or it will cost you a lot of money. Do you have any information I can actually use?

Why government spending as an economic stimulus is an illusion

It’s because the government isn’t really spending that money. The money looks as though it is being spent, but it’s really still there. It’s a pretty cool illusion.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights in plain English that even a liberal can understand

HA! That’s funny, because it’s calling liberals idiots. But this implies that most conservatives have not read the Constitution . . . aren’t conservatives supposed to be patriotic?

The real culprit responsible for the outrageous growth of government beyond all of its Constitutional boundaries

Democrats?

Today I saw what for me at least is the first bumper sticker of the 2012 presidential election. And it caught me completely off guard. Palin/Nugent. How about that for unique, unconventional etc. ? Can you imagine Ted Nugent and Joe Biden having a debate? That would be so much fun.

I am not greatly familiar with Nugent other than through his articles on Human Events. But the thought of such a pairing brings a bit of a smile.

I’m going to start a new series of these posts, in which I find a Conservative-written article

I’m going to start a new series of these posts, in which I find a Conservative-written article online, and then take the comments posted in the article to demonstrate some of the crazier things that come out of their mouths. I’ll correct them, make fun of them, etc. I hope it will be informative and entertaining, but we’ll see.

The inaugural Bucketload comes from the comments in a Chuck Norris-written article at Human Events, a Conservative website. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=33648

Here are some of the comments:

On Sept 12, 2009, with the largest gatherering EVER in Washington DC, the news media ignored it and failed to let the American People know what was going on.

Uhh, no. Not sure what a “gatherering” is, but there were no official estimates for the gathering, but it has been mathematically calculated to be between 500K and 1.2 million. DC Parks & Recreation has estimated between 1 and 1.2 million. That’s well short of the crowd for Obama’s inauguration, which was between 1.8 and 2 million people. The only people pushing the 2-2.5 million number are Glenn Beck (citing a study from the University of I Don’t Remember – thanks for sourcing that, Glenn), Michelle Malkin, and other right-wing talking heads. A sizable crowd? Yes. Record-breaking? No. And it was well-covered in the media. Just because you only watch Faux News, it doesn’t mean the other news channels aren’t there.

And “leadership” is far from christianity that country was founded upon.

From Article VI, section 3 of the United States Constitution,”The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

Now, kindly move along.

In California, they are working on a Harvy Milk Gay Day which is a no-opt out for parents endorsement of homosexual activities for children as young as grade school.

Uh-Oh! This dude’s kid might catch “teh ghey” from learning about Harvey Milk! Quick we need a vaccine! Speaking of vaccines…

Chuck, don’t know if you are aware of the H1N1 flu vaccine. It will be dangerous for anyone to take the vaccine. It is not a medical but a political decision and the purpose is population control. It is an extremely vicious coctail of avian, swine and human influenze. Liquid crystals and nano-sized microchips may have been included into the vaccine. It’s purpose is global population control and can be used to eliminate undesirable individuals. Only the strong will survive it! Thanks God for people like you and those standing up for rights and freedom.

That’s just fucking nuts. That’s the craziest shit I’ve heard since Kanye was repping Beyonce’s video (which was actually just terrible, repetitive, and annoying, Kanye).

At a recent Town Hall meeting in which I stated many of our views (which went nationwide on YouTube)…

Look, dude, having your video posted on Youtube isn’t exactly “going nationwide”, it’s “going WORLDwide!” Just kidding. It’s called the Internet, you jackass! Just because it’s on the Internet, it doesn’t make it known everywhere.

Excellent article, It is always a pleasure to read what true Americans beleive.

Aside from the bad grammar and spelling, please define a “true American” for me. No need to rush, I’ll wait. I doubt you can, but I have a feeling your real definition is, “Anyone who believes as I do about certain things.”

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do to save your country from Ali O’baba and the 666 thieves!

This comment has me confused. On the one hand he’s using a JFK quote, and on the other, he’s mocking Obama’s name. Then, while using a Muslim reference, he uses 666, which is generally a Christian reference. Get your shit straight, dammit! Also, this was from “Joe Wilson fan, not a Palosi fan”. Who the fuck is Palosi?

Chuck, you make a huge mistake by calling Obama OUR PRESIDENT!!! HE IS NOT MY PRESIDENT!!!! He has been elected to the office, but he does not reprsent our founding father’s visiion for this country.

THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING THAT WITH CAPITAL LETTERS!!!one!!eleventy1!! I may be going out on a limb here, but I’m pretty sure the founding fathers would shit themselves if they were transported through time to today. I doubt their “visiion” for this country involved moving pictures and horseless carriages and flying contraptions, and “freed Negroes”. Not to mention cellular phones (or phones at all), email, computers, etc. In short, I’m not sure I want to live in their vision of the country.

the only way Americans were united on 9/12/2001 was because the liberal loons were stunned into silence for a while. They didn’t have clue to what happened, what caused it, and worse yet, what to do.

You know, that emboldened description is pretty apt for describing something else – George W. Bush when he heard the news on 9/11. Except for maybe the what caused it part.

Here’s a truth the liberal loons will never understand: tens of millions of Americans, perhaps one third of the nation, listen to Conservative view points not because Glenn, Rush, Sean, or Chuck tell us what to think or do. WE LISTEN BECAUSE YOU GUYS AGREE WITH US ABOUT PERSERVING AMERICA.

A) Tens of millions is not one-third. That would be 100 million. B) 100 million is still a minority, so you still don’t win an election.

You are absolutely right Chuck and I have advocated another Tea Party for years long before this movement began (ask my wife if you don’t believe me).

I’m not necessarily saying that he’s trying to steal the Tea Party’s thunder by claiming he originally thought of it, but ask your wife? Seriously, dude? Maybe try someone who is objective and unbiased. By the way, I invented the Internet (ask my friends if you don’t believe me).

Thomas Jefferson once said, ” Dissention is the highest form of Patriotism “

Well, I dissent from dissension! Meta-Patriotism! Better yet, I dissent from dissenting from dissension! Meta-meta-Patriotism! I can go all day!

A good start would be to deport all illegal immigrants, no matter the cost,

Yes, because when one of your major issues with the Administration is the run-away spending, it’s always a good idea to suggest a massive project, “no matter the cost.” I guess run-away spending is only a bad thing when it’s spending on things you don’t like.

Is Obama pro Islam? Is Obama Anti Israel? If he is Anti Israel, I would say, he is Anti American.

Islam is a religion, Israel is a country. Let’s get that straight. Also, Israel is not America. Are there any other countries on this magical “List of places that if you dislike, you also dislike America”? Just, you know, for reference?

A tea-stained flag. Good idea. (Chuck’s suggestion in the article).

I’d bet dollars to donuts that these nutjobs are the same people who got all huffy because there was a picture where Obama didn’t have his hand over his heart when the national anthem was playing or he didn’t wear the flag lapel pin. But now, all of a sudden, intentionally staining the flag with tea is patriotic.

[From a long rant about Islam] Its really simple, they worship Satan and [we] worship the only true God.

Yes, nothing says “I believe in the Constitution, especially the religious freedom part” like telling a billion Muslims that they worship Satan. Can’t you just smell the religious tolerance in the air?

And in regards to actual article itself, I have lost all respect for Chuck Norris. He tries to be wise by quoting George Washington in an effort to point out our foreign policy problems. Hey, Chuck! Where the fuck were you with the anti-foreign involvement George Washington quotes back in 2003? Oh, that’s right, nowhere. Now, all of a sudden, when Obama wants to end the Iraq War and focus on our actual enemies, now Chuck decides to speak up with his isolationist talk. Right, because all of that is Obama’s fault.

Alright, I don’t want this thing going on too long, but I will note that I only scanned about one-third of the comments to fill up this Bucketload.

Feel free to send me site/article suggestions for the next Bucketload!

I already wanted to write something about Obama’s speech to Congress, and after I saw this art

I already wanted to write something about Obama’s speech to Congress, and after I saw this article from Human Events, I just knew I had to respond.

President Obama has had a month to listen to the American people.

For a month, angry Americans have gone to town hall meetings in large numbers to oppose more spending, more government, and more Washington centered bureaucracy.

For a month, the polls have gotten worse and worse for big spending, big deficit, high taxes, and big government.

But on Labor Day, President Obama gave us a sign he hasn’t been listening. He gave a campaign-style speech in which he accused his critics of spreading “lies” and failing to offer their own solutions for health care reform.

It is not the president’s job to give people what they want. If it was, I would most likely be learning creationism right now. No, the president’s job is to do what’s best for his country. Actually his job is to enforce the law, and it’s really up to Congress to put laws in place. But still. If two thirds of America want him to do something stupid, that’s not a great incentive to do it. Not to say that opposing more spending and more government is stupid. (Not that it’s necessarily smart, either. It depends on circumstances.)

onight President Obama has another opportunity to show us if he’s willing to listen to us, or to his party’s leftwing.

Below is a ten-point checklist you can use to judge for yourself.

Oh goody, I love ten-point checklists!

He has to choose between listening to what the American people are telling him, and what the Left is telling him.

Um… sorry to break it to you, but half of the country is “Left”. You don’t have to be Conservative to be American, you know.

A recent Gallup poll revealed that only 13% of the American people want permanently expanded government.

It turns out that this is actually true, and they’re not just making stuff up. But it’s still an appeal to popularity. I personally would like to see a smaller government, but on issues other than health care. Like military. Or education.

In sharp contrast, the liberal base of the President’s party views government run health care as nonnegotiable.

It’s not exactly government run. There will still be private healthcare.

Forget the details

Forget the rhetoric.

So, is “Forget the details” a complete sentence or what? If you put it as one paragraph, it doesn’t make grammatical sense:

Forget the details Forget the rhetoric.

Is this a speech designed to bring together Americans to pass bipartisan health reform?

Or is this a speech designed to appease the Left?

It’s designed to achieve the President’s goals. Since he is the President of the United States and not just the President of the Left, his goals probably include the entire country.

In his proposals for reform, does the President include litigation reform, which 84% of Americans believe will help reduce costs and which is the number one goal of doctors in any health reform?

Yes, I believe he does include it. But really, stop using those appeals to popularity. They’re getting on my nerves.

Does he include a section onsaving [sic] money by stopping payments to crooks who are bilking the taxpayers for $70-120 billion each year in Medicare and Medicaid fraud? For 88 percent of Americans, this is the first place they would look to find savings in our health care system. Is President Obama willing to look there?

In his plan, yes. In his speech, I’m not sure. I mean, it’s pretty long.

Does his speech reject higher taxes, which the vast majority of Americans believe will make the current economy even worse and increase unemployment even more?

Yep. Pretty blatantly.

Dang. The rest of the questions are silly. I was hoping it would actually go somewhere. But what did I expect from Newt Gingrich anyway?

The speech itself was very well done. It was certainly a lot better than Obama’s speech to students. He promised a lot. The question is, can he deliver?

His ideas about healthcare seem helpful. Not all of them, but most of them. He said that he’s not going to raise taxes, which makes one wonder where all of the money is going to come from.

I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.)

Because if it’s not Christianity, it’s evil. You are either with us or against us. (And I thought we dealt with this birth certificate thing already.)

II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore.

The whole “no graven image” thing was stupid in the first place. I’m sure that any president would aspire to be on Mount Rushmore. And look at their source. It’s a casual remark. Seriously, you’re grasping at straws here.

Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama.

Either we should stop saying it altogether (because it is being horribly misused), or we should say it so much that it no longer means anything — not like it ever did in the first place.

Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy.

Are you seriously saying that we shouldn’t pay taxes? Isn’t that a little *gasp* unpatriotic of you?!

Honour thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money.

That’s where private healthcare comes in. It still exists, you know. But either way, it’s coming out of YOUR pocket. Yes, yours. Either you get taxed to make up the difference, or the insurance company charges you more. So why is it so much worse whether it’s the dang guv’ment or those Americanizin’ corporations?

Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby.

Ugh. It is difficult to respond to this in an amusing way, so I will respond to it in an honest way. If the being cannot think or feel, it is not murder. Go read one of my myriad posts on the subject.

Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed.

Oh, that one’s just mean of Obama. I mean, there are all these clearly intelligent Conservatives out there. Like Human Events. And yet, Obama doesn’t like them? Oh gee! I wonder why!

Oh wait, look at the source. Apparently “[a] conservative media watchdog says the mainstream media has once again demonstrated its bias” by giving so much coverage to the infidelity of Governor Mark Sanford. Other than the fact that it was a CONSERVATIVE watchdog who said this editorial statement, there’s the fact that Obama didn’t actually have anything to do with this. And then there’s this quote: “the same people who are all making an enormous, big deal out of Mark Sanford thought that there was absolutely nothing wrong with what Bill Clinton did.” Really? I think plenty of people found a lot wrong with what Bill Clinton did.

Thou shalt not steal, until you’ve been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives.

You get to live in society. You get roads and buildings and law enforcement. So you have to pay taxes. Deal with it and stop being such a whiny baby.

Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian.

I’m pretty sure that Obama is actually Christian. Of course, you would think he’s Muslim, wouldn’t you? Because you are in that stupid 10% of the population.

Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet.

Yep. Pull the American Dream into it. Appeal to patriotism FTW! But seriously. Obama is not going to make wealth just disappear. Still, you have to applaud the brilliance of this. It is saying, look at all you have achieved! You worked so hard, even though you probably didn’t and you actually just coasted through college on your parents’ money and then got a job at your uncle’s business! And now Obama wants to take away all of those well-earned riches! He must be stopped! America! Patriotism! Iraq! 9-11! Are you scared yet?

Something like this would normally not be worth responding to, but it sounds like it’s written

Something like this would normally not be worth responding to, but it sounds like it’s written by a twelve-year old. And I remember what twelve-year olds write like.

Obama says “I am in the way” of his Health-Scare Bill because I have questions and concerns. Well Mr. Obama I have read your Health-Scare Bill and want to know why you are lying and not telling me what is in the bill. Saying one thing and writing another. Why are you scared, putting my Constitutional Right to Free Speech under attack, suppressing and censoring my concerns?

See what I mean?

What am I concerned about? A “government run” public insurance option that will destroy private insurance and the cost every American will pay in increased taxes.

I’m sure you’ve heard of public school. And you’ve heard of private school? If you just answered “yes” to that question, then you should understand why your logic is faulty.

Here are a few of the shocking health controls per the Chosen One: Obama:

Two colons in a row? What?

Pg 425 Lines 17-19 Government will instruct & consult regarding living wills, durable powers of atty. Mandatory! He will control your living wills

I can’t tell where the quote ends and where your stupid rambling ends. Either way, I don’t think that the word “mandatory” is in there.

Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill – THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you get (Unions are EXEMPTED)

You know, I should really just read the bill instead of trusting you. But it sounds kind of long and rambling.

Pg 42 of HC Bill – The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice! Government, not you, will decide what health care you are allowed.

Oooh nooo! Just like they won’t let you decide how much taxes you pay, or like how your phone company tells you how much your monthly bill is, or how the supermarket tells you how many grapes you can get for a dollar!

I find it difficult to believe that someone with this level of writing ability could have read through this health care bill. Apparently this thing was written by Alan Gottlieb, and apparently he’s a professional writer. Huh. Well, the good news is, any twelve-year old can become a professional writer!

“I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them just to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” – President Obama at an August 6 at a rally in Virginia

“They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.” — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an August 5 interview

“What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?” — Rep. John Conyers (Mich.) at the National Press Club, July 24

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (Md.), writing in USA Today, August 10

“The last time I had to confront something like this was when I voted for the civil rights bill and my opponent voted against it.
“What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics.“ — Rep. Brian Baird, (Wash.) told a local newspaper

“I hope people will take a jaundiced eye to what is clearly the Astroturf nature of so-called grassroots lobbying … The Astroturf nature of grassroots lobbying, which is largely the term for, you know, this is manufactured anger.” — White House spokesman Robert Gibbs

“Republicans and their allied groups — desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill — are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right-wing extremists funded by K Street lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of healthcare in America taking place in congressional districts across the country.” — Democratic National Committee communications director Brad Woodhouse

“These are nothing more than destructive efforts to interrupt a debate that we should have, and are having. They are doing this because they don’t have any better ideas … It’s really simple: They‘re taking their cues from talk-show hosts, Internet rumor-mongerers and insurance rackets.” — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.)

“Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.” — Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.), responding to a town hall participant

I love how, since I subscribed to their column, they think I must be conservative.

In November 1994, a great tide of conservative Republicans swept to victory in races all across America, wresting control of Congress from the stagnant, liberal Democrats and bringing principled, reform-minded energy to Bill Clinton’s “big government knows best” Washington, D.C.

Because everyone knows that liberal Democrats are stupid. Not only that, but they want to corrupt the nation’s youth. They even want to go so far as to turn the entire nation into a communist death land. Big Brother Is Watching You much?

I am very proud to have been a part of that historic achievement, unseating the Democrat incumbent to represent Pennsylvania in the U.S. Senate.

Yes, a widespread change of political position in government is historic. Wait, doesn’t it happen every few years or so?

Across our nation, voters are waking up to the disastrous consequences of Barack Obama’s presidency. Americans who were willing to take him at his word when he campaigned as a supposedly “reasonable,” “moderate” candidate are beginning to understand what lies behind the media hype and insincere charm.

Yeah! He’s been trying to improve healthcare, save the economy, and all that, but still, he’s a terrible president. Hmm, I can feel a “you got screwed over by the guv’ment and we can help you get revenge” coming on.

President Obama and his Pelosi-Reid Democrat allies in Congress are radical leftists determined to remake America into a socialist “utopia.”

Yea! Socialism is bad! But wait, 9 of the 10 countries with the highest quality of life are socialist.

They jeopardize our future, with activist judges who disregard the Constitution, wholesale takeover of banks, manufacturers, insurance companies and health care, outrageous and unsustainable taxation and spending which saddle our children and grandchildren with trillions of dollars in debt, rising unemployment and inflation, and a foreign policy of apology and dithering in the face of deadly global threats.

Isn’t it just horrible what the liberal Democrats want to do to you?

A new tide of popular grassroots opposition to the Obama Democrats’ senseless policies and insatiable hunger for power is rising across America.

“Grassroots”? Seriously?

In the spirit of our great Founders, Main Street Americans are voicing their opposition with a renewed sense of patriotism. Tea Party protests, enthusiasm for less government, and anger at Washington’s derisive attitude toward America’s bedrock values are growing.

Yeah! Because Patriotism means rebelling against your government!

That is why I’m asking you to stand with us as we work to recruit and elect principled, conservative Republican candidates who will work to reverse the Democrats’ damage and govern with humility and respect.

Remember, people: Democrats are not principled. Democrats are savage beasts with no sense of morality, and they only want to infect the nation with their disgusting and evil ways.

Please join our fight today. Thank you.

Hey, maybe I will. Wait, let me think . . . HELL NO. I will not support this mummer’s farce that is being called a revolution. You know what would be a revolution? A Libertarian takeover. Or even a Communist takeover. Heck, we can even go with a Feudalist takeover. But Conservative? Come on, you can do better.

Oh dear. Not this again. Once again, I am responding to the worthless cesspool known as Human Events

Oh dear. Not this again.

Once again, I am responding to the worthless cesspool known as Human Events. Unlike the Conservative Blogger’s Union or Small Dead Animals (winner of the 2008 Weblog Award for Best Conservative Blogger), Human Events not only has nothing original to say, but says it poorly. So poorly, in fact, that it can be refuted by a fifteen-year-old high schooler with access to the internet and no sense of taste. What do I mean by that? I have no idea. It just sounded catchy in my head.

Without further ado, let’s get to the refutin’.

WASHINGTON – WND Editor Joseph Farah has produced the first major DVD documentary on the critical issues surrounding the constitutional eligibility of Barack Obama to serve as president – but it wasn’t easy.

True. Filling a feature-length movie with the necessary lies and obfuscations is harder than it sounds.

In fact, during the course of shooting and editing “A Question of Eligibility,” the award-winning filmmaking team, including veterans of many controversial movie projects, made the unusual request to keep its identity secret for fear of retribution from the administration.

Oh my God! Censorship! Run away! Wait . . . if it’s being censored, why does it have 15 million hits on Google?

“That’s how hot this topic is,” said Farah. “That’s how hot this movie is.”

. . . really? I think I’m going to be sick.

“A Question of Eligibility” is expected to ship to customers on Aug. 4, the date Obama claims as his 48th birthday. Preorders are being accepted exclusively at the WND Superstore.

Oh. Whirled Nut Daily.

(By the way, you can find free copies of the movie online. It’s just a matter of looking hard enough. By which I mean a two-minute Google search.)

“What we have produced here is a compelling and shocking documentary that will appeal both to those already steeped in the details of the eligibility story and those who need a video introduction to the major issues,” said Farah.

. . . and those who, after a long hard day, want something stupid and easy-to-understand that they can laugh at. That would be me.

It’s a fast-moving, original work shot entirely in Washington, D.C., and based on the voluminous investigative work of the news agency that has spent more time and money on the story than all other news media combined – the WND news team, said Farah.

So EVERYTHING in the movie is based off of the research of Whirled Nut Daily. I’m not sure that’s a very objective news source.

“Obama is choreographing a top-down revolution in America – one from which it may take generations to extricate ourselves,” says Farah. “It will be a shame if we learn he was ineligible to serve in the office of president only after he’s gone. If we can force the issue to be addressed while he is still in office, we have a chance of turning back the clock on many of the destructive actions he has taken already. If he’s not able to prove his constitutional qualifications, we might all be able to wake up one day and think of the Obama administration as just a bad dream.”

And that’s where it all becomes clear. These folks do not care if Obama was really born in the United States. They are just looking for an excuse to get him out of office. Unbiased? Ha!

“… Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then, if his servants masque

“… Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 11)

SCHEMES AND DREAMS

The Quraysh tribe into which Muhammad was born (c. 570 A.D.) controlled the incense trade route from southern Arabia to Syria, as well as one of the chief pagan cult centers of the region – the temple called the Ka’ bah in Mecca. The Quraysh added to their revenue by capitalizing on pilgrimage visitors to the site through the charging and collection of visitation ‘fees’. Contained within the Ka’ bah was (and is) a black rock, probably of meteoritic origin. A myth out of the region alleges that Gabriel (presumably the angel) gave the rock to Ishmael, along with instructions regarding pilgrimage ceremonies. The truth is that the angel Gabriel, who stands in the presence of Almighty God, would not serve as facilitator for the advancement of pagan worship.

Muhammad’s foray into local pantheistic cults proved to be a significant sticking point with powerbrokers of the region. With his personal safety threatened he relocated to Medina and forged political links with indigenous tribes by marrying several of their women. From there he orchestrated revenge raids on the Quraysh caravans and cultivated a following which subsequently evolved into present-day Islam. Muhammad was nothing if not opportunistic. One of his marriages was to a wealthy widow some 15 years his senior, securing in the process patrilineal rights of inheritance, free sustenance, and free time to pursue ‘meditations’ which allegedly produced the ‘prophetic’ dreams and visions upon which the Quran is based. Curiously, all alleged supernatural events attributed to Muhammad seem to have conveniently occurred when he was alone. One such example is his supposed ‘transport to heaven’ from Jerusalem’s Mount Moriah; however, history records his death in June, 632 A.D. following several years of increasingly militant activity as ruler and leader of a newly-created religio-political state. No testamentary evidence exists in support of claims made by him or on his behalf.

In contrast, a number of the visions of the prophet Daniel, recorded in his writings in the Bible’s Old Testament, have factually occurred and are confirmed in the secular history record. One such example concerns events prophesied in Chapter 11 during the reign of Cyrus the Great: “Now then I tell you the truth: Three more kings will appear in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. When he has gained power by his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece. Then a mighty king will appear, who will rule with great power and do as he pleases. After he has appeared, his empire will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the power he exercised, because his empire will be uprooted and given to others” – and history records the following:

After Cyrus, three more kings arose in Persia: Cambyses II, a “Smerdis’ pretender, and Darius Hystaspes. The fourth was Xerxes, who burned Athens and lived out his life in luxury. A mighty king appeared – Alexander the Great – and, at his death, the sweeping empire he had created was divided among four of his generals: Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus Nicator, and Ptolemy.

Another such example can be found in the 44th chapter of the writings of the prophet Isaiah: “This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself, who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense, who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers … who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, “Let it be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Let its foundations be laid.” – and history records that Cyrus the Great, king of Persia, was indeed benevolent toward the Jews brought captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar and, in fact, freed them to return to Jerusalem to pursue the construction tasks set forth in the Scriptures.

These are but two examples of historically-confirmed fulfillment of Biblical prophecy; nevertheless, they point unerringly to the simple truth of the Apostle Peter’s words in his second letter: “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1) Unlike Muhammad, the Bible’s Old Testament prophets were ordained by God and directed by the Holy Spirit – men who foresaw and foretold future events, some of which have historically occurred and others that will occur in God’s chosen time.

SHIFTING SANDS

Like the desert sands from which it arose, Islam’s foundation is unsound … for it is based upon mortal man – a dust mote in the light of eternity. Satan, ever vigilant in his pursuit of the souls of men, will continue to appeal to the lusts of the flesh and beguile the unknowing with promises of a heavenly “blissful abode” replete with garden, vineyard, a “brimming cup” and “girls with swelling breasts”. (from the Quran) The truth is that the Revelation of Jesus Christ, delivered by Divine messenger to the Apostle John, makes it abundantly clear that “only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21) will enter the heavenly kingdom prepared for His elect – those who through the Father’s infinite grace and mercy have received and accepted His offer of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3) All others will be forever separated from God and cast into the lake of fire prepared for Satan and his servants, from which there will be no relief or escape. Jesus himself tells us not to be afraid of “those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both body and soul in hell.” (Matthew 10)

This Jesus, the long-anticipated Messiah of whom the Old Testament prophets wrote, was crucified, dead and buried – yet physically rose from the tomb, appearing not only to his disciples but some 500 other witnesses as well. Luke, a Greek physician widely recognized among present-day Biblical scholars as an authoritative historian of the time, wrote the following concerning that event: “While they (the disciples) were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.” (Luke 24) In his second book, Luke again writes of the resurrected Jesus: “After his suffering, he showed himself to these men (the disciples) and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.” (Acts 1) In addition, he records the testimony of the Apostle Peter before crowds gathered at Jerusalem for Pentecost: “God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.” (Acts 2) Writing to the church at Colosse (c. 60 A.D.) while under house arrest in Rome, the Apostle Paul relays greetings from “our dear friend Luke, the doctor…” evidencing Luke’s contemporary relationship to eyewitnesses of the resurrected Jesus. (Colossians 4)

SMOKE AND MIRRORS

From the beginning of time, Satan has fought with God for the souls of men. That battle continues in our time as Islamic factions in the United States (and across the globe) actively promote hatred of Christians and Jews and the ‘glory’ of jihad against any and all who do not embrace their philosophy. An interesting example of present-day hate-mongering can be found at: http://www.investigativeproject.org/1103/anti-semitic-anti-christian-propaganda-on-display.

Commentary in the April 2009 issue of The Shield, a newsletter of the pro-jihadist group Hizb Ut-Tahrir which recently met in Chicago, says that Judaism and Christianity “started hundreds of years after Abraham and Jesus, and are great distortion of what they actually taught.” Students of history know (1) that Christians, including the Apostle Peter and James (the brother of Jesus and head of the church at Jerusalem), were persecuted and martyred within 20 to 30 years of Jesus’ earthly ministry in 1 A.D., and (2) that no fewer than seven Christian churches were established through the missionary efforts of the Apostle Paul during the same time period.

The article goes on to say that Christians and Jews “follow nothing but conjecture” and “do nothing but lie” – not altogether surprising given the following examples of Quranic teaching:

4.171 “Allah is only one God; far be it from his glory that he should have a son.”

005.017 “In blasphemy indeed are those that say Allah is Christ the son of Mary.”

004 “That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah”, but they killed him not, nor crucified him…”

009.030 “…and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”

Muhammad’s message speaks for itself. The Apostle John unmistakably identifies the true nature of such prophets: “…many false prophets have gone out into the world … every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.” (1 John 4)

GOD’S WORD

“The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.” (Psalms 98)

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men – the testimony given in its proper time.” (1 Timothy 2)

“So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). Here they crucified him, and with him two others – one on each side and Jesus in the middle. Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” (John 19)

“Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9)

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14)
