O quinteto fino-escandinavo Husky Rescue

Uma agradável paisagem das mais diversas cores, com uma suave brisa e um céu que suavemente muda de humor. Esta é a metáfora ideal para definir a banda finlandesa Husky Rescue.

“Inspirados por filmes, artes,fotografias e o clima frio de sua terra natal”, como os próprios se dizem, o quinteto comandada por Marku Nyeber possui dois albuns lançados: Country Falls, de 2005 e Ghost is not Real, 2007. Ambos possuem uma atmosfera um tanto onírica, com ritmos que variam suavemente ao decorrer das faixas coordenadas pelas vozes de Reeta-Leena e Nyeberg.

No primeiro disco, destacam-se a romântica faixa New Light of Tomorrow,com sua sonoridade agradável e uma triste voz masculina e as instrumentais Suset Drive e Mean Street. Já em Ghost, tudo gira em torno da belíssima voz de Reeta-Leena, complementada por letras que mais parecem narração de sonhos (a trilogia Blueberry Tree é um exemplo) e em vários momentos as faixas apresenta um certo clima de Downtempo em sua composição.

Transcorrendo estilos que variam desde o Country até a psicodelia, Husky Rescue se mostra como uma ótima banda para aqueles que gostam de climas mais chillouts. Cada composição nos apresenta um diferente ângulo da paisagem citada no começo deste post. Algumas vão até além e parecem mais sobrevôos por toda a alegria e melodrama dos inspiradíssimos finlandeses.

• E por fim, The Good Man, uma comevente narração acompanhada por uma gaita e com um belíssimo encerramento.

In the past couple of years there has been a strong influx of female voices in indie/alternative music; in part owing many thanks to powerhouses like Feist, Cat Power, St.Vincent, M.I.A., Kate Nash, and Mac-user favorite (supplying the backing track for the Macbook Air advertisement) and lovable newcomer Yael Naim. These women have bridged genre and audience gaps with their wide-ranging styles that span from electro-hop to idyllic folk-pop. Refusing to make music that is subsidiary to their own ideals each of these artists has produced separate, but equally qualified, albums that ring true to life and their fans. Whether it be finding hipness in their normalcy or by bolstering a bad girl attitude these women have taken their grip on indie/pop music and hopefully won’t be letting go any time soon.

Even with the recent increase of female artists at the forefront of indie music I would like to highlight and promote my less publicized favorites. First on the list is Reeta-Leena Korhola of the Finnish group Husky Rescue. With “ethereal” vocals and Floyd-influenced melodies Korhola and company make mesmerizing albums that flow seamlessly with the Finnish seasons. For your first listen of Husky Rescue get a copy of Country Falls. Prepare to be a fan. The second, and most recent, to enter my list of female artists to follow is, Alela Diane, a singer and songwriter from Nevada City, California who has been making waves across Europe with her folk-inspired Americana music. To better gauge whether or not Alela Diane is something you would be into check out the song, “Dry Grass and Shadows,” on her Myspace page (link above).

Many of you Brit-junkies might know my last pick, Laura Marling, from her work on the song “Suspicious Eyes” with London based rock band The Rakes. Marling, although just turned eighteen, sings powerful, diary-styled, acoustic driven songs that simply could break your heart or make your day. Her album, “Alas, I Cannot Swim,” was released earlier this month and she can also be heard on The Mystery Jets’ single, “Young Love.” The music video for “Young Love” is also worth a YouTube in your free time.

There are numerous more female artists I would love to endlessly carry on about, but for the time being these few should enough to fill a playlist for your MP3 player.

Jako że ‘08 odchodzi już powoli w niepamięć chciałbym przedstawić swoje muzyczne odkrycie tego roku. Fiński zespół Husky Rescue, na swoim koncie mają jak na razie 2 płyty (z roku 2004 i z 2007), ja polecam tę drugą (choć pierwsza też jest dobra). Moim skromnym zdaniem (1) jest niesamowita, nastrojowa, epatująca melancholią, hipnotyzująca… mogę mnożyć określenia pełna zachwytu. Jedna z niewielu płyt które mogę puścić i słuchać bez przerzucania kawałków, wszystkie utwory są świetne. Ostatnio rozmiłowałem się w trip-hopowo-chilloutowych brzmieniach, z czego bardzo się cieszę bo przypadkowo poznałem ten świetny zespół;) Mały sampel z drugiej płytki.

Na ăsta-i post dedicat trupei Husky Rescue. Foarte faini sunt oamenii ăştia. Finlandezi, de la mama lor de-acolo de la Helsinki.
Aşa se descriu dânşii:

E slick. E warm. E secsi. E mellow. E senzuală. Ce-ţi trebuie mai mult de la o piesă? Ca să nu mai zic că gagica arată într-un mare fel în clip. Cum se bălăngăne ea acolo în faţa maşinii. Şi gata! Asta a fost cu toata senzualitatea piesei. ) Bagi cuvantul “bălăngăne” undeva şi orice notă de secsiime e dată dracu’. Probabil acum te hlizeşti şi te miri de cât de prostovancă sunt. Da, sunt! Şi ce? E dreptul meu! Continuând.

New Light Of Tomorrow.

Asta e una dintre cele mai relaxante piese pe care le-am ascultat vreodată. Am dormit dumnezeieşte de foarte multe ori pe ea. Nimic nu se compară cu clipa aia perfectă când eşti pe punctul de a adormi şi auzi intrumentalul ăla liniştitor de la sfârşit, în care se îmbină linia demenţială de pian, vocea lui “and until the end” şi chitara aia leneşă. Completează momentul.

Şi apropo de New Light Of Tomorrow, mai avem şi mix Bonobo.

Şi varianta asta e foarte bună. Că doar e Bonobo ce mama naibii. Ţie care-ţi place mai tare?

Închei aici postul, nu înainte de a preciza bineînţeles numele albumului de pe care am scos piesele astea două. Country Falls. 2004. Download it. Şi dacă eşti curios, au scos album şi în 2007, pe nume Ghost Is Not Real. Dar cam atât avem de la ei. Sperăm la mai mult pe viitor.

Essa é uma sugestão de minha amiga orkuteana, Fernanda Frias.

Fiquei encantado ao ouvir o som da Husky Rescue. É de ficar fã ao ouvir pela primeira vez, o vocal e a harmonia musical é entorpecente.

Inspirados por filmes, arte, fotografia e pelo clima frio de sua terra natal, a Finlândia, o Husky Rescue foi criado pelo baixista e compositor Marco Niberg em 2002.

Em 2005, Husky Rescue passou de um projeto de estúdio para uma banda de palco. Suas hipnóticas performances ao vivo conquistaram audiência pelo mundo inteiro. Contrariando a tendência natural de músicas que falam sobre coisas do mundo real, a banda tem no repertório contos musicais que abrem portas para outros universos, sem destino definido. A voz irreal da vocalista Reeta-Leena Korhola não deixa dúvidas.

A singular musicalidade de seu álbum de estréia, “Country Falls”, fez sucesso com o público e imprensa…
O álbum “Country Falls”, da banda Husky Rescue, pode ser considerado a irrigação em um deserto emotivo, é a primeira luz depois do inverno polar, um elegante cocktail entrosado com o ritmo latino que irá deixá-lo entorpecido, um tipo de pop music com guitarras havaianas… Este é um álbum de sons ecléticos com uma visão idealista do que o pop pode ser, com enorme qualidade.
Marko Nyberg – natural da Finlândia – é o fundador da banda e compositor das músicas, além de ser o responsável pelos teclados deste excelente álbum de estréia, repleto de cantigas especialmente simples, gloriosas e ao mesmo tempo profundas. Sua intenção é sempre inspirar a vida das pessoas através destas belíssimas trilhas sonoras que são como pequenas histórias de cinema, para que as pessoas escapem da realidade por alguns momentos. As vocalistas Emma Salokoski e Reeta-Leena Korhol juntaram-se à banda acrescentando sua marca ao longo do caminho, com influências que incluem Air, Zero 7, Daft Punk, entre tantos outros. Exatamente a partir da primeira faixa do disco – “Sweet Little Kitten”, que tem um doce e atraente vocal, você sente que há uma enorme qualidade sonora neste trabalho; na sequência aparece a faixa “Summertime Comboy” que pode ser interpretada como a celebração do verão num momento musical ingênuo. Outra música de grande importância neste disco é “Gasoline Girl” que toma a dianteira lentamente, até a mudança repentina de vocais para timbres eletrônicos completados por guitarras elétricas e bateria; “Rainbow Flows” e seu suave e excitante som flutua sem esforço. O conjunto deste álbum toma diversas formas a cada audição, novos sons e experiências únicas saem das caixas acústicas; ouvi-lo torna-se uma experiência extra sensorial!

Husky Rescue apresenta em seu segundo álbum “Ghost is Not Real”, uma única e especial mistura de amplos elementos da música eletrônica com um folk delicado. Uma ode, meio rock, meio country. Algo entre Blondie e The Primitive. O álbum é denso, melancólico, sexy.
A electrónica contida dentro de este trabalho apresenta-se numa forma mais pop, e em tons suaves e melódicos. Roça-se por vezes a doçura, muito por culpa de Reeta-Leena Korhola, a vocalista que oferece grande parte daquela que é a verdadeira alma da banda.

Enfim, Husky Rescue é mais uma banda que você não pode deixar de ouvir.

Husky Rescue don’t seem to follow any established route or musical recipe, and while the pop specifics are apparent, there is that bit of unclassifiable mystery to their creations. Finland’s musical landscape just seems to get better and better.

Mas não….não é o Cardigans. Você pode até confundir ao ver os vídeos da banda, e as coincidências vão até certo ponto, porque a banda acima é de Helsinki, Finlândia, e tem o curioso nome de Husky Rescue, bem apropriado pra quem mora naquelas bandas geladíssimas. Eles formaram o grupo em 2002, têm dois discos na bagagem: Country Falls (2004) e “Ghost is not Real”, lançado esse ano por um gravadora independente, a Catskills Records. O Husky Rescue faz um pop gostosinho bem parecido com o Cardigans (de novo?!), com grandes influências de um estilo musical que o pessoal ocasionou chamar de Ambient, muitas vezes classificados também como Downtempo, embora a banda não utilize muitos recursos eletrônicos, mas criam o ambiente com sintetizadores, guitarra, baixo e bateria, tudo analógico, além da doce voz da vocalista Reeta-Leena Korhola.

Você, leitor, já deve ter visto um clipe nas madrugadas da emetevê, gravado toscamente em VHS, com uma bandinha tocando em um campo aberto, com um monte de adolescentes dançando até o amanhecer, e eve ter se perguntado: “ué, o Cardigans (outra vez?!?!?) voltou a fazer musiquinhas pop fofinhas?”…..não meu caro, você viu o clipe de Nightless Night, terceiro single do segundo disco deles, Ghost is not Real.

Em tempos de dancinhas ridículas em frente a TV, esse clipe é bastante interessante e diferente, em questões técnicas e de roteiro. A banda ainda tem mais três ou quatro videoclipes a disposição….só procurar no You Tube, mas o clipe que mais chama atenção é o referido acima. Se você não tem saco pra youtube, googlevids ou outros, pode ligar a televisão de madrugada, que sempre passa na programação da Music (?!?) Televison brasileira….imagina, você tem insônia, vê o clipe, dança as coreografias, cansa e depois vai dormir…..taí uma ótima dica.

Mas falando do álbum que contém Nightless Night. Como eu já disse, ele foi lançado por uma gravadora independente, no início desse ano de 2007, e conta com dez músicas. Ghost is not Real é um álbum bastante gostoso de se ouvir, com canções bem-feitas, com um certo ar de “viagem musical”, muito por conta das ambientações organizadas pelos instrumentistas, mas a vocalista manda muito bem, com um voz doce e bem-postada, bem ao modo de Nina Persson e Isobel Campbell. Vale a pena escutar, mesmo que você ache que é um resquício de uma banda sueca famosa, mesmo que você ache que grandes vocalistas atuais são Regina Spektor, Amy Winehouse e Feist…..além do que um pouco de doçura não faz mal a ninguém.
