Hyundai is in deep thoughts, it is planning to launch its facelifted Verna in India. The new Verna has already been launched in the Korea. And now the company might launch it in India with much expectation.

The launch of the revamped Maruti SX4 and Ford Fiesta could be an important factor behind the company’s decision to launch the facelifted Verna in India.

The Verna was launched by Hyundai in India back in 2005. Since the time, the car has not received any major change in its looks. The growing struggle in the auto industry has forced the company think about bringing in the new looking Verna to India.

We are not clear about the changes that the car would receive, and whether it will be able to conquer the hearts of the Indian car lovers. We are neither aware of the launching date of this new Verna nor the price of the car.

Known as the Theta II GDI, the 2.4-litre 4-cylinder unit is the product of 46 months of research and development and expenses of more than 170 billion won (AUD$160 million).

The ideology for the new engine was simple: lower emissions, raise power output, improve fuel economy.

And Hyundai Australia sales and marketing director, Kevin McCann, is impressed with the final result.

“The Theta II GDI convincingly demonstrates our parent company’s advanced powertrain engineering capabilities,” he said.

With a compression ratio of 11.3:1, the new engine delivers 150kW at 6300rpm and 245Nm at 4250rpm.

A mechanism allowing the catalytic converter to reach its optimum working temperature faster reduces emissions from cold starts by 25 per cent.

The Dual Continuously Variable Value Timing (DCVVT) of the split-injection system also lowers emissions and increases power.

Hyundai will debut the Theta II in the first half of 2010 in the all-new mid-sized sedan codenamed YF – the vehicle expected to replace the current Sonata – before being expanded into other models.

On Friday, November 20, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency announced its preliminary figures for the most efficient vehicles in 2009. It was no surprise to hear that Honda Motor Co. has the most fuel-efficient line of vehicles in the United States. All Honda vehicles sold in 2009 are expected to average 23.6 miles per gallon in driving. Not far behind Honda were Hyundai and Toyota, each with 23.4 mpg and 23.2 mpg respectively. Honda has launched new vehicles for its up coming model year, such as the 2010 Honda Insight and followed by the 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid. These vehicles are expected to be popular buys among young adults in urban cities, such as Miami. Honda also plans on keeping its reputation by future sales of a Honda Fit Hybrid. Honda is most known for its Civic and Accord models but has been determined to bring new model line ups to the market. There is no doubt Honda has made some good decisions that are evidently paying off. Be sure to stop by your local Miami Honda dealership to see the latest model lineups Honda has to offer.

Saturday, it was announced that Rolls Royce would be joining Volvo in making HD radio a standard component across all its lines for 2010! This comes quick on the heels of an announcement from Mercedes-Benz that HD will be in all its 2010 models that have “premium feature packages.” Looks like HD has locked on with the luxury car aficionados!

That is one heck of a brand association. Rolls Royce has been known for refinement and luxury since before World War II. It is a name that has stood the test of time and retained its noble bearing throughout. The Phantom, for example, is to cars as a tuxedo-clad James Bond is to espionage (the Sean Connery Bond). To have HD radio become a standard firmly affixes the growing medium in the luxury market and the luxury mindset.

Here is the statement from iBiquity via Radio Ink:

“We are proud to confirm the availability of HD Radio technology for yet another prestigious brand — Rolls-Royce,” iBiquity COO Jeff Jury said. “The Rolls-Royce brand is revered. This commitment to HD Radio technology as standard illustrates how digital radio’s dynamic function enhances the in-car ambiance. The addition of Rolls-Royce to the HD Radio roster truly solidifies the technology’s stature in the luxury automotive class.”

Rolls Royce joins an array of other car makers in offering HD either as a standard or an option: BMW, Hyundai, Jaguar, Mercedes, Mini, Scion, Land Rover and Volvo. In addition, Audi, Ford, Kia, Lincoln and Mercury are soon to join their ranks and have committed to offering HD as well. Now that approximately 85% of the US is covered by HD signals, it looks like it could be a great time for a road trip!

It’s really fun watching a medium grow up. There are always growing pains, but the process always seems to yield fascinating results. As each quarter slips by, we see more maturity in the HD radio platform. Not only are the high-end auto makers adding it in as a standard, but there is now a HD listening option for the iPhone. (See my earlier post.) The times are certainly changing, and as far as HD is concerned, changing for the better!

With an increasing number of holiday festivities being held in the home this year, we’re all l

With an increasing number of holiday festivities being held in the home this year, we’re all looking for creative and cost effective ways to spruce up our table settings and create a look that will impress our guests. When it comes to setting your Thanksgiving table, options for the adventurous host are limitless. What are the hottest trends for you to bring to your table this year? Here are a few ideas that will take your Thanksgiving table from ordinary to extraordinary:

Color, Texture and Mix – Match:

In table linens and accessories, this year we are seeing rich, saturated colours. We are also seeing a lot of texture and the mixing and matching of patterns with solids. There are a lot of options out there to do something warm and inviting.

Color Trends

Warm tones have always been popular for Fall and that continues with some of the biggest trends in colour combinations this year. Some of those include:
- Deep Spice and Aubergine with muted Gold accents – Dark Chocolate with Blues and Gray accents – Olive Green, Aubergine and softer greens as accents – Dark Chocolate, Taupe and Natural

Tabletop Decor

- Use things that you already have in your home – pull out your 3 or 4 of your favourite vases of different heights. Use complementary colors of fresh flowers for a simple and stunning arrangement. Fill three or four vases and/or glass bowls with different colors and sizes of ornaments, fruits, leaves – anything with color and texture that will create visual excitement.

- Your guests are all unique – why not celebrate their individuality? Use different patterns and/or colors of napkin rings that match their unique personalities. Are they simple or sophisticated? Fun or formal? Unpredictable or conservative? Show them you care with a little customization to complement your table linens.

- Candles are always a dramatic and cost effective way to make a statement – use votives at each place setting with a name card and emphasize beautiful table linens for a classy and simple look. Or go more dramatic and cluster your favourite candle sticks of varying heights and looks as a centerpiece. Use colors that complement or match your dishes, glasses and table linens.

- Nothing brings subtle sophistication to your table like a well-selected runner. Use one the length of the table plus 12 inches to hang over the edge (usually a 90″ or longer) as the perfect centerpiece. If you are using a solid tablecloth or placemats, make sure to jazz it up with a festive pattern. If you have a patterned look already, use a vibrant solid runner that picks up on one of the colors in your runner.

- Use 2 napkins instead of one with a napkin ring. With a solid napkin inside, and a more decorative napkin on the outside.

When setting your table, just remember: do what feels right for the mood. A casual gathering calls for a relaxed setting. A formal meal should feel that way at the table. Either way, it doesn’t take much to elevate your in-home dining experience. Replacing an old tablecloth with something fresh an exciting, and adding a few simple table accessories can go a long way to impressing your guests. It’s that time of year when family gatherings abound and everyone spends countless hours congregating around the dinner table. With the hours spent preparing the perfect meal, make sure you don’t forget to finish it off with the perfect setting.

Hyundai Tucson

“Made in Brazil”.

Back when I was a broadband reporter for Red Herring magazine, I took a trip to Seoul and did the cl

Back when I was a broadband reporter for Red Herring magazine, I took a trip to Seoul and did the classic story on how South Korea kick-started its economy with government investment into blazing-fast broadband pipes that created its world-leading mobile and web industries. South Korea’s broadband buildout may hold some interesting lessons for the U.S. smart grid rollout, as I’ve noted before. But the country could also take a leading role in the smart grid market, with South Korean smart grid firms competing directly against the companies in Silicon Valley that are developing the next-generation of smart grid tools. According to a report today in Reuters, South Korea has picked eight consortiums to build a smart grid test bed in the country and South Korea is vying for “30 percent share of the global smart grid industry.”

In the same way (albeit on a smaller scale) that the South Korean government pumped money into developing broadband infrastructure, the government plans to invest 37 billion won (about $32 million) initially into building out the smart grid test-bed. The companies that will start building the smart grid infrastructure include a who’s-who of South Korean IT companies including mobile leaders SK Telecom and KT, consumer electronics and cell phone heavyweight LG, power companies KEPCO and GS Caltex, and Hyundai Heavy Industries. Taking the same approach as the island nation of Malta — isolating the buildout to a geographical area — the South Korean government plans to build the smart grid test bed on the island of Jeju, which is south of Seoul (see map above).

While the investment from the South Korean government isn’t huge at this point, I wouldn’t discount its goal to acquire a 30 percent share of the global market as unreachable. KT, SK Telecom, and LG have long histories of mobile and broadband innovation, and they tend to spend a lot of money on R&D, taking risks and rolling out products and services that are at the bleeding edge. That means some of the companies’ risky products can be duds — see SK Telecom’s failed mobile joint venture Helio, which was sold off to Virgin Mobile. But the approach seems to be working for many of them: LG is the third largest cell phone maker in terms of marketshare, solidly beating out American phone maker Motorola (s MOT).

I haven’t researched the ins and outs of what types of smart grid products South Korean firms are working on, but the country’s leadership in the battery space could also give it a leg up in energy storage for the smart grid. Very few American firms have so far been able to compete with both South Korean and Japanese companies when it comes to battery technology.

Given the smart grid industry is just being developed, recently getting a boost from the $3.4 billion in U.S. stimulus funding, it’s not strictly about competition at this point. There’s some cooperative learning going on as well: Earlier this year the U.S. smart grid trade group the GridWise Alliance and the Korea Smart Grid Association (KGSA) teamed up to share intelligence about building out smart grid technology.

Tired of hearing about social media? Still can’t figure out if it is tweet, twit or twat? Have

Tired of hearing about social media? Still can’t figure out if it is tweet, twit or twat? Haven’t figured out your Facebook page from your profile or your group?

Well, a great new video from the Socialnomics guys that told us all that Social Media is not a fad has been released and it showcases some of the numbers and statistics behind successful launches and implementations of Social Media Campaigns. Will this be the result for everyone? Who knows, but if you haven’t even claimed your Twitter url or sent a single tweet, how will you ever know? What’s the worst that could happen? As the video shows, here are a few ideas:

Increase in sales?

Decrease in call center costs?

Traffic to your website?

Boy, any one of those would be terrible in this economy. The simplest benefit that I could see would be preventing someone from squatting on your name and your brand.

Don’t think that would happen? Check out these examples: vw, Kellogg, Walmart or even Ad Age’s Marketer of the Year, Hyundai. Big brand names that were beat to the tweet and now are left wondering if their brand reputations are left at risk. Maybe, maybe not, but if I had worked to build my brand, been recognized as a Marketer of the Year, in a year when there was little good news out of the automotive industry, I would hate to see it fade due to some ill-fated tweets about oysters, cellphones, and Yankees. Not a big deal? Interestingly enough, if the course of writing this blog post and following the recent article in Ad Age regarding squatters, Twitter has finally taken the action to suspend the account. But don’t think it is easy to get them to sit up and take notice. This only happened after they contacted the social media site’s headquarters and began to contemplate legal action. This account most likely was suspended due to inappropriate content like their bio that previously read, “Have a Lustful Day,” more so than due to any interest on Twitter’s behalf to protect brand names.

So, if you decide to join the Twitterverse to engage and interact and see if you can get a good ROI or if it is just online reputation management, please do so and do so quickly as this Social Media Revolution is not going away.

But when you do, don’t think it will happen overnight or that there is any “easy” way to gauge and measure ROI on social media. There isn’t some nifty Google Analytic (yet) that you can track all of the ties to Social Media. You have to bear in mind the indirect and direct traffic, the benefit of the buzz around your brand, a positive reputation, and sometimes, just being considered a trendy brand by engaging consumers through this new method. The diversity, the sheer number of social media networks out there make this an ever changing environment. That may not fit well into the single page report your CEO wants to see, but it is a reality. Erik Qualman (author of Socialnomics) uses what I think is a great analogy “What is the ROI of your Phone?” Any ideas on how to quantify that? We haven’t come up with anything yet either.

Bottom line, you can look around at your competitors and see if you are going to be first or if you will just be left behind. You can’t afford not to engage, and I haven’t met a company yet in this economy that can afford to wait.

Check out this great video, focused on Social Media ROI by Socialnomics, with all of their amazing stats. We summarized them below for you. If at the end of the video, you are ready to jump on the Social Media Bandwagon, feel free to check out Kansas City’s Social Media Agency to begin analyzing the steps to launch your social media campaign.

Here are the stats and quotes used in the video:

Over 300,000 businesses have a presence on Facebook and roughly a 1/3 of these are small businesses.

Gary Vaynerchuk grew his family business from $4 million to $50 million using social media. Gary’s eccentric personality and offbeat oenophile knowledge have proven a natural path to success with his Wine TV Library.

Vaynerchuk found first hand that $15,000 in Direct Mail = 200 new customers, $7,500 Billboard = 300 new customers, $0 Twitter = 1,800 new customers.

Wetpaint/Altimeter Study found companies that are both deeply and widely engaged in social media significantly surpass their peers in both revenue$ and profit$. The study also found the company sales with the highest levels of social media activity grew on average by +18%, while those companies with the least amount of social activity saw their sales decline -6%.

Lenovo was able to achieve cost savings by a 20% reduction in call center activity as customers go to community website for answers

Burger King’s Whopper Sacrifice Facebook program incented users to give up ten of their Facebook friends in return for a free Whopper. The estimated investment for this program was less than $50,000 yet they received 32 million media impressions which roughly estimated equals greater than $400,000 in press/media value. Which to put in context is somewhat like reaching the entire populations of 19 states (understanding this doesn’t account for unique vs. repeat visitors, etc.)

BlendTec increased its sales 5x by running the often humorous “Will it Blend” Videos on YouTube blending everything from an iPhone to a sneaker.

Dell sold $3,000,000 worth of computers on Twitter

To put things into perspective, only 18% of traditional TV campaigns generate a positive return on investment. This is where the majority of media dollars reside today. I don’t believe the majority of media dollars will reside there tomorrow.

“You can’t just say it. You have to get the people to say it to each other,” says James Farley, CMO Ford. Ford seems to know what they are doing, especially with Scott Monty leading the social media charge. By giving away 100 Ford Fiestas to influential bloggers, 37% of Generation Y were aware of the Ford Fiesta before its launch in the United States. Is it any wonder why 25% of Ford’s marketing spend has been shifted to digital/social media initiatives? Ford is the only US auto company that didn’t take a government loan.

Naked Pizza, a New Orleans Pizzeria that specializes in healthy pies, set a one day sales record using social media. In fact 68% of their sales came from people “calling in from Twitter.” On top of that (no pun intended) 85% of their new customers were from Twitter. So, yes, social media does work for small businesses. Feel free to have a bottle of Vaynerchuk wine with your pizza.

Volkswagen goes 100% Mobile for launch of GTI. The reason that I mention this is that mobile drives social media usage and social media usage drives mobile. More and more we will see most social media usage on the phone.

Tweets for a Cause sent out a tweet from Atlanta to encourage support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. As a result of retweets from such notables as @mashable, @G_man, @zaibatsu and others, the Atlanta Chapter site received 11,000 visitors in 24 hours as a result of this initiative by ResponseMine Interactive.

Intuit introduced “Live Community” into their TurboTax® products 2 years ago. Due in part to the resulting word-of-mouth, they have seen unit sales increase +30% each year and have now integrated “Live Community” into their other products like QuickBooks, Quicken, etc. “Live Community” allows customers to ask other customers questions which has proved both beneficial to the customer and to Intuit. In some instances, the customer can answer questions that Intuit isn’t allowed to answer because of regulatory restrictions.

Software company Genius.com reports that 24% of its social media leads convert to sales opportunities

During Barack Obama’s rise to the White House, he garnered 5 million fans on social media and 5.4 million clicked on an “I voted for Obama” Facebook button. Most importantly this resulted in three million online donors contributing $500 million in fundraising. An astounding 92% of the donations were in increments of less than $100.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center witnessed a 9.5% increase in registrations by using social media.

Web host provider Moonfruit more than recouped its $15,000 social media investment as their Website Traffic soared +300% while correspondingly sales increased +20%. They also saw a huge lift in their organic search engine rankings getting on the first page for the term “free website builder.”

eBay found participants in online communities spend 54% more money

Co-Chairman Alex Bogusky of Crispin Porter & Bogusky puts it best when he states: “You can’t buy attention anymore. Having a huge budget doesn’t mean anything in social media…The old media paradigm was PAY to play. Now you get back what you authentically put in. You’ve got to be willing to PLAY to play.”

“Think of Twitter as the canary in the coal mine.” – Morgan Johnston, JetBlue

71% of companies plan to increase investments in social media by an average of 40% because: a) Low Cost Marketing b) Getting Traction c) We Have To Do It

“Our head of Social Media is the customer” – McDonald’s

2010 Kia Forte SX Sedan

The Kia Motors has been quietly selling cars in America since 1992 but is actually the oldest Korean car builder. All of Kia’s products in America have been compact to sub compact cars that anchored the lower end of the market with middle of the road design and quality. After being saved from bankruptcy in 1997 by Hyundai, Kia cars in a parallel with Hyundai have been growing in reliability, design distinctiveness and overall value. One of the fruits of this tight relationship is the Forte.

The Forte was inspired by the Kia KOUP, a concept car from 2008. The KOUP featured some impressive specs for a presumed to be affordable car from Kia: 290 hp direct injection turbocharged engine, adaptive lighting, on demand navigation system and panoramic glass roof. Penned in California by a former Audi designer, the first Fortes went on sale as a sedan in Korea as a 2008 model. They were sold in America shortly after being unveiled a year later at the Chicago Auto Show. Around the same time the coupe was shown at the New York Auto Show and is slated to roll into dealerships late in 2009 as a 2010 model.

Forte Interior

The US lineup will most likely feature thee trim levels with various option packages. The LX and EX models will come with the standard 2.0 L 4 cylinder with continuous variable valve timing, making around 156 hp and getting as much a s 34 mpg. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard with a 4 –speed automatic optional. The sportier and more desirable model will be the SX, which has a larger 173 hp 2.4 L 4 cylinder mated to a 6-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic transmission. In a model naming and options convention similar to Honda’s Civic, LX models will come with all the basics, while the EX will add things like air conditioning, power windows and door locks. The three trim levels will be available in cope or sedan. The coupe has a package available on the EX and SX that adds leather seats, trim and interior/exterior chrome accents.

Kia sales have been picking up, even as most of the auto industry is cutting back. The small number of Kia’s sold annually could only go up, and due to the company’s efforts to reinvent itself, its sales future might be bright. The media seems to have taken notice, giving the Forte good reviews. Most seem to agree that the car is well executed inside and out. All Fortes feature a front independent suspension with MacPherson struts and torsion beam rear. Despite not having a fully independent suspension, the ride manages to be good while handling is controlled and predictable. Its performance seems to be something they agree about also with Motor Trend saying that “It’s performance was right up there with the best the segment had to offer”.

Kia is making a strong effort to market the Forte to younger buyers. As it did with the Spectra before, much of its marketing efforts focused around sponsoring sports and musical events. The sharp design (especially the Alfa Romero 159-like coupe rear end), improved quality and lower price should make the Forte a contender to buyers cross shopping between Honda Civics, Toyota Corollas and Mazda 3’s.

It’s that time of year when every car imaginable gets an award, apparently for simply existing in some cases.

To celebrate, ScuttleShake has put together a list of models it’s looking forward to for 2010 – and there may be a few surprises.

Buick Superlative

A car widely expected to be slightly better than Buick’s previous offerings in the US executive segment.

“Bob Lutz personally kicked the asses of 18 technicians and engineers until we reached that crucial ’slightly better’ stage with the Superlative,” confirmed a GM insider.

“This is guaranteed to put BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti and Jaguar firmly in their place,” offered the insider with a watery smile.

Dodge Orgasm

A rebadged Fiat Stilo equipped with a 1.4 MultiJet engine, scheduled to hit the US market next year.

“It doesn’t have the power to pull the skin off a custard,” laughed a Fiat insider.

Hyundai i1

Reportedly a tenth of the size of the i10, the i1 will house space for one small child (driver) and a mini soft drink can in a handy binnacle.

Prices start at £99. Standard equipment includes door, seat and roof.

BMW M5 GT Convertible

BMW says its M5 hatchback-saloon-estate has taken 35 years to discover.

“Until recently car designers knew there was another niche out there, somewhere. Perhaps on the very borders of human perception.”

So says a BMW insider who has worked on the so-called Niche Theory problem with BMW since 1977.

“We confidently expect the 34 other people in the world who have also identified in this niche to love the new M5 GT Convertible,” confirmed the wild-haired spokesman

Lamborghini I Will Kill You

“We thought about all those Lamborghini names of old, named after killer bulls, and realised we weren’t being explicit enough,” said a Saint Agata spokesman.

“We don’t want to people to be in any doubt about our supercars,” continued the exec.

“If you buy one of our cars there’s a very real chance you’ll die in a twisted heap of molten metal.

Lamborghini says it expects the I Will Kill You to be its biggest seller yet.

Audi Fuck You Porsche

Audi said it sees no problems with competing for sales with stablemate Porsche, when questioned on the positioning of the new Fuck You Porsche.

Porsche Large Margin

Porsche says its Large Margin estate car will rival the Skoda Fabia SW for internal load space and will cost £89,000.

“Who cares what you think?” said a Porsche insider when we quizzed the manufacturer on the relevance of the vehicle.

“We know from experience that there are some people stupid enough to buy anything with a Porsche badge on it.

“What’s more we have their contact details,” concluded the spokesman.

Aston Martin Metro

Reportedly a result of a chance meeting between Ulrich Bez and Barry Scunthorpe, designer of the original Austin Metro, in a service station near Gaydon, the Aston Metro will be offered for £45,000 when it goes on sale next year.

The Aston Metro features an Austin/Rover K-Series engine, bespoke leather-trimmed steering wheel and Aston badging.

“Aston Martin has one of the finest reputations in the world,” laughed Bez in a Q&A. “And I’m determined to ruin it.”

Maybach New Money

“New mock Tudor mansions, 60-inch widescreen tellies, plaster doric columns, heated outdoor swimming pools. These are the things that Maybach customers know ooze sheer class.”

That’s the claim of a Maybach spokesman ScuttleShake spoke to on the new New Money model.

Clad in a leopard-skin thong and wielding a pimp’s cane, the spokesman continued to pour praise on the new Maybach model while being fellated by a boa-wearing prostitute.

Kia Suck>cee’d:-)

A hatchback with a spoiler on it.

Ok so although they’re not currently giving the attention my food and music fest deserves (Even though it was literally made for them), I’m really falling in love with Ford these days. Through innovation, design, and in most cases, good marketing communications, the company has not only avoided the pitfalls of their two Detroit cousins GM and Chrysler, they just announced a third-quarter profit of nearly $1 billion ($997 million according to their press release). So here are a few of the important lessons I’ve pulled out of Ford’s transformation.

1) Design and Innovation are key – Have you seen the new Ford Edge or Flex? How about the Taurus? The new Taurus is so well designed, so beautiful; you will be asking to drive one the next time you have a chance to rent it instead of asking for a Toyota. And watch out for the new Fusion Hybrid, as it will be taking market share away from Toyota and Honda as consumers run out of reasons not to buy American.

2) Separate yourself from the pack – With the exception of the “Cash for Clunkers” program, Ford steered away from advertising that speaks to the recessionary times as many of their competitors including Ad Age’s Marketer of the Year, Hyundai have. They also didn’t take government bailout money which gave consumers confidence.

3) Have a good spokesperson – If you are going the way of celebrity endorser, pick one that fits your brand. Mike Rowe fits Ford like a glove…even better than O.J.’s. Mike is the perfect American “everyman”. His shows such as “Dirty Jobs” have a need for vehicles like Ford Trucks. Rowe started out just hawking for that division, but as may have seen from the new ads, he can sell anything with the Ford badge on it.

4) Expand your market – Look around your town and I bet you will notice more Ford’s than you have in the past. It seems that those who might have purchased a more expensive “prestige” vehicle a few years ago are very happy with Ford’s new products, price points, and value. Remember that value isn’t just about price. Ford is delivering a better product at a competitive price point compared with others in the category.

5) Legacy is important in down times – Consumers are looking to purchase from companies they believe they can trust. If you have been around for 100-years (unless you are GM), one gets the feeling there is a reason for it. Their years in business give you a comfort level. Ford Motor Company has been known since its inception as an innovative, forward thinking company. Henry Ford made cars affordable for every American, transformed modern-day production with the Model-T assembly line, and through the wood scraps from that factory, founded Kingsford Charcoal. Where cam we find that kind of innovation in our business? We have still yet to roll-out paperless ticketing!

6) Market the experience – You might be sick of hearing me say this, but our marketing sucks! Check-out the new Axe body spray commercials. You get what the product does for you…NOT how it smells, how much it costs, where it is available…nothing like that. Consumers purchase based on an emotional response. How are they going to get emotional about hearing an artist’s new single they don’t know, followed by a bunch of quick information about sponsors, pre-sales, sales, locations, who is promoting the show…and of course the famous “call to action”. It is a new world…for over 20-years now. It is time we catch-up.

Full disclosure, I haven’t owned a Ford vehicle for many years. It doesn’t stop me from sitting up to take notice at the great changes they have made…and how easy it would be for those of us in Live and Branded Live Entertainment to follow their lead.

How about we each come up with 3-new innovations in 2010?

Speak with you soon…

Jim
