I actually require one of these because I waste a LOT of time digging, yes literally shovelling with my entire arm, through my oversized handbags to find my ligloss, keys etc. The “Glow Purse” is luminated by a LED based and light and is rechargeable! Santa, one of these would be greatplease! Obviously not in the hideous, mauve felt thing…preferably built into something simple and stylish like…the Burberry Knight Studded Bag. I’m no stepford girl. My man probably cooks more often than me and the meals are ALWAYS amazing, but these colour changing pots might inspire me to cook a little bit more often. Sort of like hypercolour cookware, the yellow and red colours start to appear as it heats up. The modern retro look is so cool, just remove the handle and it’s a bowl.

NB: It doesn’t come with the hot guy below and no, you can’t have mine.

I’m loving the bows on headbands right now. They make me feel girly and also save me from having to do my hair. But bows don’t all have to be preppy ‘gossip girl’ style, there are some cool ones out there. For example, Karmaloop have released a sweet, jewelled bow adorned with a cute little skull.

On a brighter note, today is Guy Fawkes Night and we are going to town to see the Fireworks display and go to the Fun Fair!! Can’t wait to stuff myself with popcorn, candy floss and feel dizzy after the rides! I just love this festivity, I think it’s funny how more than 400 years on, the atempted act of treason is still remembered! I wonder if Guy ever expected his immortal fame…

Why should we limit lace to our undergarments when it looks so sexy on top? Lace is versatile. It can look sexy, classic, vintage or even Madonna’s material girl style if you so desire. I am personally searching high and low for the perfect pair of black lace gloves.

So, two days since Google announced that they are releasing 100,000 preview invitations for Google Wave.  Now I am super, super keen to get my hands on one of these invites ever since watching the preview from Google I/O 2009.

It seems I’m not the only one keen to get my hot little hands on this  cool, real-time collaboration tool.  Some entrepreneurial chap in the States decided to offer his invite up on eBay.   Two issues.  He didn’t actually have an invite, and eBay reckoned he was violating terms of service.  A shame really as one Swedish guy was willing to part with $27,000.    The  current highest bid on other eBay auctions is $102.50 – a bargain in comparison.

Have been coveting the new non-atom 11inch netbooks that are about . . . .

Of the lot the Samsung is the one I like the looks of most.  Although I’d go for the Black rather than the white as shown above. 

I’d want OSX on it which could prove troubling, but having an 11inch netbook with OSX and a 1280 x 800 res would be teh pwnzors (as the kids say these days).

Even though the last two netbooks (Acer Aspire One and Advent 4211) have proven I have zero need for one, I still want one of the little fuckers.  That said I’m using a Lenovo X200 now at work, and I have a spare HD with Win 7 on which I’m using as a ‘test’ machine, and while it’s a lovely laptop, it’s hella expensive for what I want\need it to do.

EVERYONE HAS TATTOOS NOWADAYS! -  and for the longest time, I also wanted to get one. I know it’s not exactly a new concept, but something to me is appealing about having art on your body that will last a lifetime. This also happens to be my DILEMMA. I can’t for the life of me choose something that I think will be cool 20-30 years from now…. I don’t have kids yet, so I’m not getting my daughters name, and I sure as hell am not getting “mom” (even tho I love my mom). I just haven’t  found a piece of art that I believe elevates my body….what am I left to do?

I actually read a recent article talking about how it’s rebellious NOT to get a tattoo nowadays, cuz everyone has one. I’m pretty sure my parents wouldn’t care if I rocked one or not, so that’s not really my issue….again, I just can’t think of something that would be cool enough to settle on. I just don’t wanna regret it….I already know some people (*ahem Farshad) who have made hasty tattoo decisions…..but I’ll leave that story for another day.

This was parked in a showroom across the street from my hotel in Berlin, conveniently located directly outside my room window.  It goes without saying that I spent a lot of time staring out my window, day dreaming.  I swear the car was talking to me in my sleep every night.  It’s that incredible.

I managed to bully my friend Bernard Buenaventura into finally making this shirt design. The skyline element features the UP Oblation, the UP Carillon and the Palma and Melchor Hall facades – all of them inside the University of Philippines – Diliman campus – where SFD2009 will be held this year.

My big problem challenge right now is how to get the design on the actual shirts. I’m almost out of time with SFD2009 coming fast this Saturday. In any case, we’ll figure something out and eventually get those shirts on the gorgeous bodies of our contributors and attendees.

Cyberdyne, a robotics venture in Japan, is making robot suits for the elderly and infirm. HAL (Hybrid Asstive Limb) is in the testing phase and available to rent by civilians. HAL, a robotic exoskeleton that is controlled with the power of the mind, is supposed to enhance human mobility.

The HAL has a backpack with both power supply and computer controller. This is how it works: When the wearer attempts to use the robotic limbs, signals are sent from brain to muscles. These impulses give off weak trace signals that can be sensed along the skin. The Exoskeleton identifies these and sends a signal to the power unit which allows the limbs to move in sync with the wearer. Here’s a video with the suit in action.

HAL comes in three sizes — small, medium and large and weighs in at 50.7 lbs. A single leg version rents for 150,000 yen ($1,570) a month, while a two-leg unit goes for 220,000 yen ($2,300) a month. Cyberdyne has not announced when HAL will go on sale to the public or what the price will be.

Japan, we need to talk. You’re sending me mixed signals here, and I’m not sure how to interpret them. On one hand, you threaten world domination in killer style. On the other you promise cool toys for me when I’m an old man. I don’t know what to do, Japan. I wanna love you, but you have a crazy streak that I can’t ignore.

This isn’t all for charity though. The military has been using this exoskeleton technology with the idea in mind to build battle suits for future warfare. Don’t believe me? Check it out:

I haven’t made this sandwich yet, but I have a toaster at work and you can bet your ass I make one within 7 days. Honey sounds delicious so I’ll have to make one with jelly and one with honey, just to give each a chance at greatness. They key to this sandwich seems to be the extra slice of toasted bread in the middle giving it the “Big Mac” effect.

It’s funny how things change. While I have always had an appreciation for all things green, I have never had the desire to do gardening myself. It’s hot, and sweaty work, and I have just never had the desire to actually do anything like that. Well, now I’m suddenly rethinking this. I will be a home owner in 23 days and I have been looking at all sorts of DIY projects that I would like to do to help give the house mine and Lauren’s own personal flair. Gardening has become one of those DIY projects. Today I was I was surfing the interwebs and found these totally cool lawn statues that Sci-Fi Wire has collected from around the interwebs.  I thought I would share them with you because that is what a good scholar does. This C’thulhu is amazing…and expensive. He stands over 7.5 feet tall, weights over a ton, and costs a whopping $4000 (And your soul). I love H.P. Lovecraft as much as the next guy, but if I walked among my garden by the moonlight and came face to face with this guy I probably would fertilize on command…by that I mean, I’d shit myself in fright.

Some cars may try their damndest to imitate, but all fall far short of the Alpha Romeo 8C Competizione. In fact, the only thing that could possibly touch the powerful grace of the 8C must come directly from Alpha Romeo itself. Rumors and snippets of information have been flying on an upcoming 8C GTA to be released next March in Geneva. The GTA will incorporate a variety of carbon fiber upgrades to cut 300 pounds off the standard 8C’s weight. When combined with a new ECU and some other under-the-hood tinkering, the GTA is expected to pump well over 500 horses out of its 4.7-liter V8. Performance should be pushed close to the defining sub-4, 200 range. Car aficionados are so enthused about this upcoming release that they’re creating wild speculations as to its looks. So take a deep sigh of relief because that’s what that white-lipped monstrosity in the picture is all about (courtesy of the UK’s Auto Express). ETA in warm delightful weather is now only 20 days for moi as I head into the remnants of the Japanese summer. Technically I will only experience 2 days of their summer but the remaining Autumn weather should be balmy-licious. A few wish list additions below from Urban Outfitters, which I must have for my upcoming holiday.

Recently, I have acquired a new bike. It’s not exactly brand spanking new, but it is a fun new, USEFUL toy that I use regularly. My bike is  about 20 years old with a heavy frame and a custom hand spray painted silver coat. Thank you previous owner, bythe way. These days, ladies bikes are truly Tour de France worthy with the girly touch. Even the old school style bikes are lightweight and stylish. The Fendi bike, featured below costs a whopping US$9,000 but wouldn’t those fur saddlebags be all worth it??
