It’s always exciting to see a new star rise to fame in a short period of time.

Imagine being 12 years old and being able to sing Michael Jackson’s songs that he did when he was around the same age.

Okay it’s time to let loose tonight, I’ve been working my butt off these past two weeks, writing up a storm and I still have 2,000 more words to go.

I’m going to listen to some music to get my body feeling groovy, then I’ll tap into that imagination of mine and come up with an ending for my 50,000 word count novel for Nanowrimo called The Calamity Girl!

I’ve also created a separate website for The Calamity Girl on WordPress and two sites on Squidoo.

I’m having fun creating my new characters, plots and settings.

So I decided to play the music I used to dance to in the bars about 10 years ago, when I was single, a cougar and out on the prowl.

This will give me some inspiration to write my CHIC LIT.

A ideia de todo documentário é poder levar o espectador onde ele não poderia estar e fazê-lo sentir exatamente o que era aquele momento. Poucas vezes esse objetivo é cumprido. Mas Michael Jackson’s This it It nasceu para isso, para mostrar o que era ser um mito, o que era ser o maior cantor pop de todos os tempos.

Kenny Ortega, diretor do filme (o mesmo de High School Music Band) editou 120 horas de gravação dos ensaios da turnê de cinquenta shows marcados para a O2 Arena, em Londres, colocou depoimentos e pronto. Tudo já estava lá. Não era preciso um diretor, Michael estava em cena, fazendo o que sabia melhor: encantar as pessoas.

Durante o filme percorremos o caminho do staff de Jackson, sentimos como seria fazer parte da mega estrutura montada para os shows, andamos pelo palco, ouvimos a voz poderosa de Michael oscilando entre a felicidade e a solução de problemas. Tudo como se fôssemos parte daquele projeto.

Os caminhos percorridos pelo diretor são vastos e muitas vezes cansativos, ele tende a mostrar sempre o melhor lado do cantor. Escondendo que Jackson vivia à base de remédios, pesava menos de 50 quilos e, muitas vezes, precisava de ajuda para se locomover.

Tudo não passa de um grande ensaio. Mas um ensaio que para qualquer outro cantor poderia ser técnico, para MJ e sua trupe era uma lição. Afinal, ele era apenas uma criança que não cresceu, uma criança com milhões de olhos voltados em sua direção. E sempre com as pessoas fazendo exatamente a sua vontade, nem que isso signifique colocar uma escavadeira no meio do palco para mostrar como seria a destruição de Michael.

A destruição aconteceu, de forma diferente, e o fã que se nega a assistir ao filme acabará perdendo o que provavelmente seria uma das maiores experiências de sua vida. E no final, o que fica claro com o longa é que o mundo perdeu o seu maior artista pop, talvez o inventor do gênero, e que ninguém nunca, nunca ficava indiferente à presença daquela pessoa magra de roupas coloridas e voz inigualável.

~for those that compare BEAST with MBLAQ about the vocals, yes BEAST is vocally stronger, but MBLAQ’s vocals aren’t as bad as we think they are. in general, the ‘Oh Yeah’ dance is much more complicated and requires a lot more energy, which is why during their solo parts, they don’t sound very good

So, I’m not sure if you’ve heard these songs yet, but in my opinion, they are all really good. ^^

I should be studying for my huge AP U.S. History test tomorrow, but I’ll just study laterr xD

So now, time to show my current addictions!~

First up is SS501’s “Love Like This”. SS501 (as a whole group) has been gone for about 2 years from the kpop scene, but now, we can see them finally back! (: This song is really addictive; in addition, it was Varsity Fanclub’s song, but then I guess SS501 bought the song from them. And good thing they did, because now I can’t get it out of my mind! Their MV just came out today, so watch & enjoy! (:

Next up is Kim Tae Woo’s “Love Rain”. It’s been out for a while but it’s just recently that I’ve started to really like it. ^^ Kim Tae Woo is a member of kpop group G.O.D by JYP; they were really popular back then. “Love Rain” is the track from Kim Tae Woo’s solo mini album “T-Virus”, and I’ve got to say, it’s been a big hit in Korea. Kim Tae Woo has won a couple awards with “Love Rain”, despite all the idol groups debuting or making comebacks. Definitely worth a listen.

Brown Eyed Girls’ “Drunk on Sleep”- it is amazing. After their hits “Abracadabra” and “How Come”, BEG is back, with “Drunk on Sleep” to add to their repackaged album. I love this song- ballads are always overshadowed by the catchy songs, but this is simply beautiful- we get to listen to the vocalists’ powerful voices through this song. :]

Now it’s Secret’s “I Want You Back”. Although Secret is a new kpop girl group that has recently debuted, they are already causing a lot of buzz in Korea because of their strong vocals. This song is catchy and I like the melody ^^

Park Bom from 2NE1 recently released her digital single “You and I”. YG once again doesn’t fail to disappoint us. (: Although I found the MV a bit confusing to follow, the song makes up for it.

Another new girl group in the kpop scene, Lady Collection’s song “Watch Secretly” is also really catchy to listen to.  There are 3 members in this group, and they all have powerful vocals. Leader Ji Eun was a trainee in YG entertainment for a couple years before switching out. I believe Sei was a solo singer before joining the group. This trio is also catching the attention of many in Korea because of their powerful vocals. Take a look!

Recently, in Korea, they had a korean version of American Idol. The winner of this contest is a person named Seo In Gook, and he recently released his debut song. It’s another beautiful ballad, and I’ve got to say, I LOVE his powerful voice. ^^ So check it out!

Secret é uma girlband lançada por uma gravadora menor chamada TS Entertainment composta por quatro membros: Jun Hyo Sung, Han Sun Hwa, Song Ji Eun e a rapper Zinger.

Secret debutou no dia 15 no M! Countdown da Mnet, mas não temos ouvido falar muito delas, provavelmente em razão de não ser produzida por uma gravadora de “”grande porte”, além de sua imagem não estar sendo muito trabalhada.

Mas… O mundo nos surpreende.

YG é famosa por ter as melhores músicas, quando a SM é famosa por ter as melhores vozes, no entanto, Secret realmente tem surpreendido a todos que se arriscaram a ouví-las com suas ótimas vozes e músicas que não saem da cabeça.

I Want You Back não leva o estilo “fofinho” que é predominante nos grupos de garotas coreanas e japonesas, sendo assim ainda mais fácil se tornar fã destas garotas que prometem nos surpreender cada vez mais.
