As you can see, no, I did not die. I have been around and have had plenty to blog about, so much so that I haven’t actually had a chance to sit down and write a proper post.

In fact we’ve both been so busy that we did this for the first time since I left New York way back at the beginning of September:

Hola a todos, hace unos dias os traia más emoticonos para iChat y hoy traigo unos efectos para unas de las aplicaciones más usadas en nuestros Macs que no son otras más que iChat y Photo Boot.

Lo que traigo hoy se trata de un paque de efectos que haran de estas aplicaciones ya entrerenidas, más entretenidas aún!

Ya publique hace algun tiempo otro paquete de efectos para estas aplicaciones, pero debido a el cambio de SO hay gente que ha tenido problema con el.

El efecto que más me ha llamado la atencion de este nuevo paquete con incluye unos cuantos efectos nuevos, es uno que sale el atontado de Steve Ballmer XD que podeis ver el resultado de tal efecto en la imagen XD

Para instalarlo tan solo debeis hacer doble click en el archivo llamado “MoreIchatEffects Para la 10.6.2.pkg” y se os abrira un istalador, simplemente es darle a siguiente todo el rato. Al finalalizar la instalación se os reproducira un video automaticamente explicando que teneis que ejecutar la aplicacion en modo de 32 Bits si teneis una versión anterior a la actual 10.6.2. En el video también se explica como ejecutarlo en ese modo

Espero que lo paseis bien disfrutando de estos maravillosos efectos.

Je suis du genre très compulsif avec Apple. J’ai donc acheté Snow Leopard dès sa sortie, en août dernier.

Puis installé dès réception sur mon PowerBook Pro 2,4 Intel Core 2 Duo, mais l’installation a planté en route.

J’ai retenté… Même résultat. Comme je n’avais plus un  seul OS sur le Mac, j’ai du réinstaller Leopard 10.5 depuis le DVD, puis remettre à niveau tous les logiciels…

Puis j’ai planqué Snow Leopard dans un placard fermé à triple tours.

Deux mois plus tard, alors que j’avais un peu de temps entre deux gros dossiers, j’ai fait une sauvegarde Time Machine de mon disque interne. Je l’ai ensuite effacé avant d’installer Snow Léo (Snow Léo c’est son pt’it nom) et j’ai tous remis comme avant avec Time Machine.

Je ne vous dis pas que c’est la seule solution, ça a juste été la mienne. Je vous dis pas que j’ai tout pardonné à Apple. Mais depuis, je suis content, ça marche. Et lisez attentivement toute la suite pour entrevoir toute la puissance de cette bête, si difficile à dompter au départ, qu’est Snow Léopard.

Avant toute chose, il faut que votre machine possède un processeur Intel car Snow Léo est très snob et ne daignera pas s’intéresser à un Mac doté d’un cœur Motorola. Ensuite il faut 1 Go Ram et 5 Go d’espace disque mais ça…

Quoi de neuf dans le 10.6

La grande nouveauté de Snow Léo, ce sont les améliorations portées à d’anciennes applications, comme QuickTime, Safari ou Mail  pour les préparer aux nouvelles machines tournant sous 64 bits au lieu de 32 bits. Bon, pour moi ça ne change rien, mais comme je compte bien m’acheter un gros MacPro sous peu…

En tout cas, une chose est sûre : même avec un MacBookPro à 32 bits,  avec Snow Léo,  mon Mac s’éteint et démarre plus vite. Genre presque moitié plus vite.

Pourquoi 64 bits ?

La plupart des ordinateurs du marché tournent un échantillonnage 32 bits. Ces ordinateurs ne peuvent utiliser que 4 Go de mémoire vive au maximum en même temps. Il ne sert donc à rien d’avoir plus de 4 Go de RAM sur son ordi, sauf à se dire que si une barrette est naze, une autre peut pendre le relais…

Mais avec un ordinateur tournant  sous 64 bits  comme les derniers Power Mac, cela devient super intéressant d’avoir 12 Go de Ram, et de lancer des calculs à la fois dans Final, Motion, Color… et de voir tout cela se faire en un clin d’œil ou presque ! Sous 64 bits, la limite de Ram utilisable est presque infinie. En tout cas loin de la limite maximale qu’on peut mettre en RAM sur un  Power Mac aujourd’hui.

Dans Snow Léo, de nombreuses applications ont été récrites pour le 64 bits (Safari, Mail, iChat et surtout le Finder), Snow Leopard est donc une application « future ready »

Langues et texte

Votre adresse ou votre mail en raccourci clavier

Dans les « préférences système », allez sur  « Langue et texte »

Dans l’onglet « Texte », on peut faire des substitutions pour placer des symboles ou  caractères spéciaux que l’on utilise souvent sans avoir à appeler la fenêtre « caractère spéciaux ».

Certains sont proposés par défaut, comme le © de copyright.  Il suffit de taper  -c- et cela donne ©. Tout cela marche dans Simple Text ou Pages mais certains de ces raccourcis ne marchent pas dans de vieilles versions de Word.

Pour ajouter un raccourci personnalisé, tapez + en bas de l’onglet « texte » et par exemple « tel » pour lui sustituer un dessin de téléphone. Allez chercher le dessin du téléphone dans « visualisateur de caractère » ( barre du haut sous le drapeau du clavier) et insérer le dessin voulu dans la colonne du droite à côté de « tel ».

Petite précision : dans Mail, il faut activer cette fonction en allant dans : Editions/substitutions/Remplacement de texte

Pour voir des caractères cachés sur le clavier, faire “afficher visualiseur de clavier » dans la barre du haut à droite, sur le drapeau du clavier, puis alt et Maj pour trouver les caractères peu usuels comme ø, , @, æ, Œ, ¿ etc…

Personnellement,  j’ai programmé un raccourci avec tout ce que je mets en bas de mes mails (nom, fonction, adresse, tel, mail etc) en un raccourci : RD (mes initiales).

Imprimantes

Au lieu de charger tous les pilotes d’imprimantes du marché comme le faisant l’ancien Mac OS, Snow Léo ne charge que les pilotes de l’imprimante utilisée, allez dans Imprimantes et Fax, tapez sur + et l’ordinateur va très vite proposer l’imprimante que vous utilisez, validez alors  la proposition et ça y est, le pilote est installé et ses mises à jour vous seront proposées comme celles des logiciels Mac dans « mises à jour de logiciel ».

Poubelle.

Avant, on pouvait déjà récupérer un document dans la poubelle tant que celle-ci n’avait pas été vidée. On peut toujours mais la nouveauté, c’est qu’en faisant clic-droit sur le doc dans la poubelle et en choisissant « remettre » on peut replacer directepent le doc à l’endroit où il était. Sympa.

Attention au Bug Mpeg Streamclip

Lorsqu’on installe Snow Leo, la mise à jour oublie le module QuickTime Mpeg2 qui est fourni avec Final Cut et qui permet à l’excellent couteau suisse qu’est Mpeg Streamclip de lire des vidéos en Mpeg 2 et de les rendre compatibles avec FCP. Résultat, lorsqu’on essaie de passer une vidéo en Mpeg2 dans Mpeg Streamclip, ce dernier nous demande d’installer le fameux module Mpeg 2… Bug !

Pour récupérer le module perdu, allez dans Time Machine et récupérez-le dans : System/Bibliothèque/QuickTime/ Module Mpeg2/ .Ensuite, faites “restaurer” pour qu’il se réinstalle au bon endroit. Si vous n’avez pas de sauvegarde par Time Machine, allez récupérer le fichier sur un autre ordinateur qui n’a pas été mis a jour sous Snow Leo.

Autre conseil : si vous l’utilisez, mettez également à jour Cyberduck car la version antérieure ne fonctionne plus sous Snow Léo….

Safari

Nouveauté très intéressante, on peut visualiser une mosaïque des fenêtres récemment ouvertes dans Safari en cliquant sur la grille à côté de l’icône livre, en haut à droite de Safari. En tapant en bas à gauche sur « modifier » puis en cliquant sur l’icône « punaise», les fenêtre de sites que vous utilisez souvent arrivent. Vous pouvez alors personnaliser la mosaïque et pourrez donc accéder rapidement et simplement à l’ensemble du top 20 de vos sites.

Autre truc : pour zoomer dans une page Safari, faites Pomme+ (ou Pomme-Maj-+ si vous n’avez pas de clavier numérique).

QuickTime X

Première amélioration, les touches de commandes QuickTime s’affichent dans la video si la souris est dans la video, et disparaissent dès que la sourris n’est plus dans la vidéo.

Lorsqu’il est apparent, le contrôleur QT peut être placé n’importe où dans la video. Il suffit de cliquer dessus et de le déplacer.

Un autre nouveau bouton du contrôleur permet de passer en mode de projection plein écran. En fait, ce sont les possibilités qu’offraient QuickTime Pro qui sont maintenant incluses dans QuickTime 10.

Quick Time 10 perùet aussi d’enregistrer des sons ou des vidéos sur son mac, que ce soit des images de la webcam ou bien l’enregistrement de l’écran .

Exemple, pour vous enregistrer sur la webcam intégrée : dans QuickTime, choisissez “nouvel enregistrement video” ou Alt-pomme-N.

En cliquant sur le petit triangle dans le contrôleur, vous pouvez choisir la caméra si vous en avez plusieurs, ou encore le micro, la qualité d’image, le dossier de destination de l’enregistrement…

On peut aussi enregistrer l’écran, faire de la prise d’écran dynamique pour réaliser des tutoriaux par exemple….

Après avoir enregistrer un bout de viidéo, il est possible de faire des coupes à l’intérieur. Edition/élaguer ou PommeT, puis bouger les curseur de début et de fin de clip sur les positions voulues, puis taper « élaguer».

QuickTime 10  peut aussi faire bien mieux : partager les clips sur Mobile Me, You Tube ou  Itunes via le nouveau bouton écran et flèche du contrôleur QT. Si je choisis iTunes, on me propose plusieurs qualités et tailles : iPhone  ou iPod, Apple TV ou Ordinateur, les trois tailles du fichier étant indiquées.

Autre option au menu de QT10 : fichier/enregistrer pour le web, proposé dans les trois formats possibles d’un seul coup.

Pour ceux qui utilisaient QT7 avec toutes les fonctions Pro de QT7, sachez que si vous ne retrouvez pas l’ensemble de ces fonctions dans QTX, la version antérieure de QuickTime n’a pas été effacée mais déplacée dans Application/Utilitaires, je vous invite donc à faire un alias de cette version de QT7 dans votre dock pour accéder rapidement à QT7 si vous en avez besoin. QT7 est aussi sur le disque d’installation Snow, mais dans la partie ‘Installation’ en option. Vous pouvez le choisir en repartant du DVD Snow Léo pour le réinstallez si vous ne l’avez pas.

Aperçu

Aperçu  est l’application par défaut pourvoir des pdf ou des images sur mac OSX. Avec Snow il est désormais possible de sélectionner un texte sur plusieurs colonnes dans un pdf et de le copier puis de le coller. La version précédente de Leopard ne reconnaissait pas les colonnes et il fallait copier-coller colonne par colonne.

Avec Aperçu sous Leopard, on peut annoter un pdf en faisant Outil/ Annotation… On peut aussi sous quelle forme mettre son annotation, dans un cercle, rectangle etc.

On peut scaner un doculent sur un scanner à distance, sur un réseau Wifi par exemple depuis Aperçu. Aperçu/fichier/Importer depuis un scanner (inclure les appareils en réseau) et scanner directement après avoir valider la taille etc…

Mail

Mail s’ouvre 4 fois plus vite qu’avant. Normalement…

Mail utilise de plus en plus de metadonnées. Exemple, si vous avez une adresse en bas d’un mail, vous pouvez en faisant clic-droit dessus accéder à des options, exemple : créer un nouveau contact, sur une adresse vous pouvez accéder à la carte Google Map  etc.

Sur une date, vous pouvez créer un nouvel événement iCal.

Avec Snow, il est aussi possible d’avoir des infos sur un vol aérien à partir du numéro du vol et savoir par exemple en temps réel où en est le vol. Bon il faut avoir un numéro de vol standard avec deux lettres au début ex AF 4578…

I’m a people person. I hate being alone, and love being surrounded by people. I’ve found the best way to accomplish this is by being likable. I’ve spent a lot of time working on this skill, and am the first to admit that there are situations where I am more successful than others.

One of the first things “people” people learn is how to read people. I used this skill when I acted to read an audience, and use it daily to judge how what I say and do is being received by the people around me. I use little things like holding eye contact, leaning in or away from a person, hand gestures, and subtle facial expressions to do all of this.

I use this to open, because these are things that technology has managed to take away from us. I keep up with my friends predominantly through the written word: Twitter, blogs, email, and Facebook. Occasionally there will be pictures. Sporadically there will be phone calls.

I suck at these things. I find it incredibly difficult to get my point across in the written format, because I can’t tell how it’s being taken. My brother is much better at this. I need the visual response on how it’s being taken to be able to maintain a connection. So why is it, when video chat has been around for years, that it is still so rarely used?

First and foremost, from a technology standpoint, video sucks. First you’re dealing with conflicting video formats, or for chat, you’re dealing with incompatible video transport mechanisms (try to talk to a Skype or Jabber or Yahoo! or MSN messenger user from AIM). And let’s not even get into Mac vs. Windows (vs. Linux, but that’s a much smaller subset). And if you’re trying to talk to someone who isn’t familiar with, or is even intimidated by, technology, then it’s nearly hopeless.

Yet, my sister and I video chat about once a month. Either she’ll need help with something on her computer, I’ll want to show her something on mine, or we’ll just want to catch up. (She has this tendency to get frazzled as the million and four things she’s trying to do at once catch up to her.) For this feat, we use Apple’s iChat. It’s awesome. I can look at her screen, share pictures, or just video chat. All from a click of a button. I don’t need to know anything about the system she’s using. She shows up in my list, and a little video button next to her name means it’ll Just Work™. And when I lived farther away from my parents, we would occasionally multi-player chat with my mom.

Which is precisely the point. It was easy, and we could do it with multiple people in physically different locations. But the only reason we could do it with these different people is that they were all on Macs, and didn’t need to install anything. Just point and click.

But I have two brothers on Windows machines, my grandmother who rarely approaches her computer at all (but loves the telephone), and friends of all shapes and sizes who use everything from obscure Linux distributions to the latest Windows. It’s impossible to keep in touch with them. It’s like video is taking over for the browser wars. We’re all going to suffer unless the big dogs bite the bullet and start to agree on standards. Skype, Apple and Microsoft: I’m talking to you. Apple has initiated a new level of expectations with their truly awesome multi-person chat in iChat, but until everyone can play along, it’s not going to take off the way it could.

Alternatively, I noticed this device from Asus on the Skype site that made me feel like we were living in the future.

Asus Videophone Touch AiGuru SV1T

Now this is what I’m talking about. I could hang one of these on my grandmother’s wall, and it’s just like the old wall-mount telephones, except from the future. With the touch of a finger, she can tell that she’s not interrupting what we’re doing, and then reach out and touch someone. It’s limited to Skype users, but those are growing more and more numerous. It still has the one-to-one problem (no way to conference in my aunt to talk about summer plans), but it’s getting there!

And this is where Apple can completely change the game. Come out with the iTablet, and put an iSight camera into the front of it, the same way you do with all your new monitors and laptops. Please let it run Snow Leopard (not iPhone OS), so that the user interface can be bigger and friendlier. Grandma could dock it on the wall, or if a video conversation is running a little long, she can pull it out of its dock, and bring it to her chair to finish the conversation. Her tablet could be customized so she can see her Twitters (she likes to keep up with her kids and grandkids this way!) and have her user list right there. With some modifications, iChat could be set not to auto-notify text chatters that she doesn’t have a keyboard handy, but if they wanted to voice or video chat, she’s available. And then once a conversation was underway, she could simply add a voice or video user to the conversation (or one of us kids could add people).

By making it a video phone, the iTablet could be the household equivalent of an iPhone. An updated version of a “land line”. It makes this the future. I disagree with Wired. The killer app of the tablet isn’t reading. It’s enabling actual inter-personal relationships. If the tablet does video conferencing even just as well as iChat on my Mac works now, it becomes the hot item I would want to get for my grandmother, myself, each of my siblings, and my parents. There’s an opportunity here. I’m hoping Apple does the right thing. Occasionally they blow my mind and get it absolutely right. Please let this be done right.

Add More Effects to Photo Booth and IChat. As you know, Photo Booth includes a collection of image-altering effects you can use to distort your photos; just click the Effects button to see the collection of 24 effects, and to apply them to your photos. A subset of these effects (16 in all) are available in iChat, too, for use in creating some truly strange looking iChat image icons. But in case that’s not enough effects for you, here’s a way to add over 20 additional effects to both iChat and Photo Booth.

To use today’s hint, you’ll need a text editor that can handle binary plist files–Apple’s own Property List Editor (included with Xcode), or BareBones’ free TextWrangler, for instance. There’s a bit of editing to do, but it’s not hard.

To start, open two Finder windows. In the first, navigate to /System -> Library -> Compositions. In the second, navigate to your user’s Library folder. If you don’t see a Compositions folder there, create one, and then navigate into it.

Next, copy a number of the compositions from the first (System-level) window to the second (your user’s Library -> Compositions folder). Note that there are many entries in the top-level Compositions folder, but not all will work well with iChat and Photo Booth. So how do you know which ones to copy?

Thankfully, Mac OS X Hints reader Anthony Saxon has done the hard work for you. He reports that the following effects work well:

ASCII Art, Blue Print, Blur, City Lights, Color Controls, Color Invert, Compound Eye, Concert, Crystallize, Dot Screen, Exposure Adjust, Gamma Adjust, Kaleidescope, Line Overlay, Line Screen, Monochrome, Neon, Pixellate, Pointillize, Posterize, Sharpen, Tracer, Zoom Blur

Copy as many or as few of those as you’d like over to your user’s Library/Compositions folder. (If you’re running 10.6, you’ll see a preview of each effect in its icon, or you can use Cover Flow view to see a larger version.)

Before proceeding further, please note that some users who have tried this have reported crashes with Photo Booth or iChat after adding some new effects. I have removed the known troublesome effects from the list, but that doesn’t mean there might not be more issues (particularly on Snow Leopard machines).

If the thought of some possible short-term application instability is a concern, you should probably not read any further–although I do provide instructions below on how to recover from a crash if you experience one.

Once you’ve copied over the files you’d like to use, you’ll need to edit each one, and delete a few lines. Launch TextWrangler, and use File -> Open to open one of your copied files. These files will all look relatively similar, especially near the beginning of each file, which is the part you’re interested in editing. Look for these five lines:

excludedHosts com.apple.PhotoBooth com.apple.iChat

You want to delete all five of those lines, then save the file.

Because of the slim chance that an effect may cause a crash, I suggest testing each before editing the next (or do them in small batches). This makes recovery easier if you do experience a crash.

Once you’re sure a given effect works, repeat the editing with the next file you copied across, and test again.

As you can see in the image at right, Photo Booth (and iChat) will add additional effects pages to accommodate your added effects; I’ve added eight effects, so Photo Booth is showing them all on one additional page.

So what happens if you have a crash after adding these effects? Say Photo Booth or iChat quit then refuse to launch, or maybe your machine kernel panics (gray and white screen appears, telling you you must reboot)?

If this happens to you, the fix is thankfully simple–just don’t try to launch iChat or Photo Booth until you fix the problem. The actual fix is what you might have guessed: simply remove the added effects from your user’s Library/Compositions folder, and all will be back to normal.

While crashes are never nice, I haven’t experienced any after adding eight of the above effects to Photo Booth on my MacBook Pro–and my daughters love playing around with the Tracer effect, so I think these added effects will stay around for a while!

Please ignore the seriously uncreative, downright cliché, shudderingly lame title. I couldn’t think of anything better.

Today, we learnt about VoiceOver Internet Protocol (VOIP), PodCasting and Interactive Television.

VoiceOver Internet Protocol just refers to online programs like Skype, iChat, Msn etc – things you use to communicate.

Skype

There was a very large focus on Skype.

One thing I discovered today was that Skype’s new updated program allows screensharing and apparently it has better sound quality too, though I wouldn’t know.

Jolene and I tried it out when we got home. It went pretty well and we managed to hold a conversation till 11pm. For about 2-3 hours, we were able to show each other what games we were playing (I stopped short of loading Sims3 though), who we were talking to, and what we did so far for our projects. I’m estimating a 5 secs lag time, but that’s neither here nor there.

Screensharing with Jolene

I think I mentioned earlier – I have Bible Study via Skype. It allows us to do it pretty late at 9pm, without having to travel to a physical location in Singapore and then travelling back home again. My pastor has also shared before that he conducts Bible Lessons on Skype with people living in Thailand, or Philippines. Other stories include my cousin, who lives in the USA, who once mentioned that he had a online group study on Economics at 3am in the morning with his friends. So they were able to ask questions and encourage one another at the same time. Sure, there’s always phone conferencing – but that can be expensive.

There’re few things to hate about Skype – it’s essentially free, convenient, easy to use and breaks down geographical distance.

I  think the only drawback that Skype has is that it doesn’t allow multiple video-conferences. You can add 5 people to the conversation, but only 2 people can have a video conference at one time.

iChat

The other program I use but wasn’t covered in class today is iChat. I like iChat because it can do what Skype can’t – have multiple video conferences. Then again, iChat has its own drawbacks – you can’t talk to a non-Mac user.

Guess you can’t have it all.

Pues bien aqui os dejo la solucion a pasar de tan solo los 28 smileys de iChat a más de 120 emoticonos con este paquete.

Tan solo tenemos que seleccionar el paquete con el nombre de nuestro sistema operativo (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard) y el instalador hara el resto

También es compatible con la mayoria de nuestras aplicaciones de mensajeria instantanea (audium, skype, etc…)

My mother and I had lunch together the other day. We ate, we laughed, and we had a great time just being together. The only thing that would have been better is if we were in the same room. My mother lives about two-and-a-half hours away from me, so we lunched together via the magic of computers.

About a month ago my sister and I purchased my mother a new iMac. She’s no stranger to computers, but this new one is faster and has more bells and whistles, including a built-in video camera. Using the iChat video conferencing feature, we were able to sit at our desks that day and eat our sandwiches and carry on a face-to-face conversation. Also, by pivoting her computer screen around, the computer camera could scan the room, and show me the new furniture in her office, as well as my dad sitting in his recliner waving to me and watching television.

Despite her lack of formal computer training, my mom’s been an eager student and has become quite adept at Googling information, emailing her friends, working on Excel spreadsheets, and instant messaging and Skyping with family members all around the country. The screen grab above shows a three-way video conference with three generations of us laughing and having a good time. It’s been wonderful to see her empowered by her new knowledge of computer technology and it’s been a blessing for me to be able to spend time with my parents everyday.

Video conferencing could have a huge positive impact on senior citizens in general, but especially so for those who live in senior care facilities. The loneliness of these seniors is palpable. I volunteered in a senior assisted care facility for several years and found it difficult to observe residents who never had visitors. Wouldn’t if be wonderful if these senior facilities had video conferencing capable computers on site so that the residents could stay connected to the world by having video visits with friends and family? Of course, I know that this requires their friends and families also to have these types of computers, but I’m a dreamer and always believe that if there’s a will, there’s a way. Considering there are computers everywhere – surely neighbors, friends, employers all might be willing to share their computers periodically for these priceless visits.

Nothing can ever replace an in person visit, but sharing time together in any form possible is valuable. Thanks to computer technology, we have at our disposal the ability to stay connected with everyone we care about. With applications like iChat and Skype, which have basic services for free, we have few excuses not to include seniors as part of our connected group. So what about this – buy a relative you’d love to see more often a computer video camera for the upcoming holidays?

Aunque a algunos les puede parecer algo ya común, puede que otros no sepan de lo que hablo. Intento explicar una pequeña característica de esas que te recuerdan porque te pasaste a Mac (a parte de por la ausencia de virus, claro). Hablo de la conexión de todos los programas integrados entre si.

Pongamos por ejemplo iChat, aunque la misma característica la encontrareis en Mail, por ejemplo.

Preparemos la situación; estamos hablando con nuestro compañero de trabajo del día cuando queremos quedar para charlar, pero tienes pereza de abrir iCal y ponerte a buscar el día, la hora, etc. Pero de repente pasas el cursos de tu flamante nuevo Magic Mouse por la ventana de iChat y ves que al pasarlo por el día que vais a quedar (en la imagen pone 17 de Noviembre) ves como aparece un recuadro con una flechita… ¡guau! eso es nuevo.

Al hacer clic pasa otra cosa increíble, vemos dos opciones (imagen de la izquierda) vamos a hacer clic en Crear nuevo evento en iCal (ya que se supone que no esta hecho todavía ¿no?). Veremos como aparece una ventana flotante, muy bonita, por cierto, donde podemos poner el nombre a nuestro evento, el día (que se a puesto automáticamente), alguna nota… Bueno, al final me ha quedado así:

Una vez acabado todo lo que se puede poner, haremos clic en el botón Añadir a iCal. Ahora parecerá que no ha pasado absolutamente nada, pero si accedemos a iCal veremos que hay un nuevo evento con el nombre que hemos elegido y a las horas que hemos elegido… era fácil ¿verdad?

Comme vous le constatez, l’application supporte moins de protocoles qu’Adium (qui, je le rappelle, prend en charge Facebook). Il ne supporte pas MSN, cependant AIM, moins connu chez nous, est pourtant très répandu. iChat, contrairement à Adium, prend en charge l’audio et la vidéo, et supporte jusqu’a 4 personnes en visioconférence et 10 personnes en audioconférence. Les effets vidéos présents dans PhotoBooth peuvent être ajoutés ici, ainsi qu’une fonction bien pratique, le partage d’écran qui permet d’afficher dans la fenêtre de conversation des fichiers (photos,vidéos) de l’autre utilisateur. L’application est stable, fluide et l’interface est sobre et design. Au final, iChat est une excellente solution de messagerie instantanée qui aurait encore plus de succès si elle supportait d’autres protocoles, en particulier MSN, mais qui conviendra parfaitement à ceux qui ne l’utilise pas ou qui souhaitent des fonctions de visioconférence de qualité.

No, this post will not be about the new film of the same title, but rather about something that has happened in our own lives which is perfectly summed up by the phrase “Paranormal Activity”.

Last night Forrest, Nishita, Josh and I were iChatting:

After about an hour, Josh left, and then iChat started freaking out. First, it did this:

That scary picture of Josh is the one that remained on the screen even after he had signed off. But it did that weird thing in the middle where Nishita would be. (Oh, and Forrest just turned his sephia effect on, it didn’t do that.)

Then it just died, and when Nishita would invite us back, it would just immediately die again.

So, after a few times of Nishita inviting us and it dying, the most horrifying thing I’ve ever witnessed happened.

She invited me and Forrest, and it just never showed a video of her. It was just a still picture. On Forrest’s side, there was also a still picture. BUT NOT OF HIM. It displayed an error message and I was trapped. Alone with still-Nishita and not-Forrest.

WTF????? Can anybody explain what has happened?!? Clearly, that individual is NOT FORREST. But why did he pop up when Nishita invited Forrest? It is clearly a human being, and it kind of looks like he’s in a dorm room, too. And why is his face so close to the camera!?!

This has been plaguing us since last night and I think that we all had nightmares. Can someone explain this paranormal activity??
