Bien malgré lui, le blogueur Hérétik a lancé une belle discussion sur son site, où il se demande si une nouvelle formation politique de droite pourra se tailler une place sur l’échiquier politique québécois suite à la disparition possible de l’Action Démocratique du Québec.  À travers la centaine de commentaires déposés, les fidèles visiteurs du blogue ont amorcé une réflexion intéressante en essayant de définir les idéologies de la droite québécoise tout en tentant de tracer le profil des ses militants.

L’ADQ a obtenu des résultats surprenants lors des partielles de 2002.  Certains ont relié ce succès à l’implication des radios-poubelles de la région de Québec.  Tout laissait croire que la jeune formation politique de Mario Dumont obtiendrait de bons résultats aux éléctions générales de 2003.  Contre toute attente, l’ADQ n’y récolta que 4 sièges.  Ayant perdu confiance envers Jean Charest et incapables de porter André Boisclair au poste de Premier Ministre, les électeurs québécois décidèrent de donner une chance à l’ADQ en lui offrant 41 sièges aux générales de 2007.  Depuis l’époque 2003-2007, les militants ont alors cru qu’il y avait un million d’adéquistes au Québec.  Les élections de 2008 leur ont rappelé qu’un vote ne signifie pas une adhésion.  Le parti est retourné à la case zéro.  On connait la suite…

Quel est donc le profil d’un militant adéquiste?  Est-il un fervent de la droite politique, du conservatisme fiscal, des libertés individuelles?  Si c’est le cas, comment s’expriment ces idées concrètement?  Les membres actifs de l’ADQ sont-ils des experts en économie?  Quelles sont les bases de leurs revendications?  Que s’est-il passé au sein de l’exécutif national et des associations régionales pour que tout s’effondre en quelques jours?  Tiens, donnons la parole ici aux militants de l’ADQ:

“…Certains voudront travailler à remettre l’ADQ sur les rails avec Gérard Deltell… Évidemment, il y a plusieurs points irritants : l’absence d’une équipe solide, l’incapacité chronique de l’ADQ à monter une organisation solide et institutionnalisée, …une image de marque ternie comme on n’oserait même pas l’imaginer, un amateurisme déconcertant de la part de plusieurs de ces organisateurs dits “séniors et expérimentés”, un membership qui s’éffrite et tout ça sans parler de la situation financière très précaire du parti…désolé, je n’y crois pas.” – Ian Sénéchal, candidat de l’ADQ en 2008.

“…Le 18 octobre 2009 aura sonné pour moi, la fin de l’ADQ. Tout compte fait, un regard lucide sur l’état des lieux nous fait constater qu’en quinze années d’existence, le chef, les présidents et les directeurs généraux du parti n’ont tout simplement pas livré la marchandise : une organisation forte, capable de faire connaître la plateforme adéquiste, et une machine à faire gagner des élections… Si le parti de Mario Dumont sous-estimait l’importance de l’organisation, il aura au moins livré aux Québécois des constats clairs et des solutions qui sortent du dogme usuel d’une social-démocratie étouffante et contre-productive. Comme en témoignent les véritables partisans de la lucidité et du changement, de profonds problèmes structurels minent la liberté individuelle et économique du Québec et les solutions pour y remédier ne peuvent plus être d’ordre cosmétique. Le ‘modèle québécois’, la cogestion de l’État avec les syndicats, la dépendance du monde des affaires et des individus envers l’État étouffent l’initiative et briment l’entrepreneurship québécois.” – Joanne Marcotte, réalisatrice du documentaire L’Illusion Tranquille.

“…Ainsi, depuis un an, j’ai le bonheur de siéger comme député adéquiste. Jour après jour, je suis à même de constater à quel point le Québec a besoin de notre parti politique. Maintenant plus que jamais, le discours de l’ADQ est primordial dans le débat public. On voit dans les sondages que nos concitoyens sont de plus en plus désabusés du gouvernement libéral, mais ils refusent d’accorder leur confiance au Parti québécois. Ils sont en attente d’une véritable alternative crédible qui répond à leurs valeurs. C’est à nous, les adéquistes, à s’unir et à travailler ensemble pour construire une offre politique résolument de centre-droit qui sera à la hauteur des attentes…” – Gérard Deltell, chef de l’ADQ

Pour moi, L’ADQ restera le grand champion des constats.  Des experts dans l’analyse des problèmes de société, qu’ils soient ou non reliés à la politique et aux responsabilités du gouvernement.  Les champions des discours du “gros bon sens”.  Cependant, les militants devront apprendre à formuler des idées fondamentalement différentes de celles avancées par les deux autres partis qui occupent le centre de l’échiquier politique.  Ce centre qui n’ose jamais pencher à gauche ou à droite et ce, à des fins purement électoralistes.

Au cours des prochaines semaines, nous aurons l’occasion de creuser un peu plus le comportement de cette droite québécoise qui semble s’inspirer de plus en plus des conservateurs canadiens et des républicans américains.  En attendant, si vous avez une dizaine de minutes pour rigoler, visionner ce petit clip qui nous montre le vide qui entoure souvent le discours des militants de la droite…

The American government never says “please” but only aims to inspire, time after time.

What does that mean for its people and indeed, anyone who believes like in the power of democracy?

Why is it at times difficult to find secularism in some of the most expressive components and aspects of society?  Last night I found myself searching the internet for information regarding secular choral groups or choirs in my area.  It has come to my attention that, in the area of youth and childrens’ choirs, typically one may only seem to be able to locate choral groups with repertoires and song lists comprised mainly or predominantly of sacred, religious-based choral music.  On one level, music is music, regardless of the intent of the composer, or the political and cultural modalities of those who may commission such material.  In fact, in my past experience as a vocalist in youth choirs as a teenager, as well as being part of various musical ensembles, I found that at times music composed by some of the classic and traditional masters of the past (who composed for spiritual environments) were extremely complex and beautifully composed and conceptualized musically.  Yet, does this mean that religious music must be the place from where musical education, vocal practice, voice development, and artistic expression for the everyday singer must start from?  In other words, are the youth choirs of small-towns (though not necessarily just in small towns, as I did do a search online for youth choirs in Toronto and found not one secular group listed, but only faith-based existent) the only ways for kids to start getting into choral music?  I will argue, no they are not.  There can and should be secular choral groups for children.  But where are they?

I suppose I am using this blog entry as a space from where the question can be asked:  where are the secular youth choirs and choral groups?  From what I have been able to deduce in observation and in discourse with others in my social spheres, there is an interest in seeing this type of musical organization.  I want to be clear on a particular point.  My interest in the development of secular youth choral groups is not strictly based in a personal need to oppose faith-based musical organizational practices.  Though I am an out atheist, I do not wish at this point to posit any such thoughts on this topic as a way to show resistance towards religiosity or cultural sacred practices.  I don’t see religious opposition to be the main reason for this discursive endeavour.  Even if it were I am not entirely sure how I would be able to at this point in time within the discourse of community choirs and secular musical performativity.  Perhaps I should consult someone like Richard Dawkins on the matter to discover a strategy for secularizing music in this way.  But at this point, I do not think that secularization of music is really what I am interested in.  But the production of secular youth choral spaces is very much of interest for me.  I just feel it would be important to have secular musical spaces as alternatives to religious ones in which families, children, teenagers, and other young people who may wish to gain experience performing in choral showcases but do not have to risk feeling uncomfortable while signing gospel and sacred textualities if they do not personally connect with the ideologies attached to the material.

To what level should people have to compromise their own values and personal ideals in order to be part of a socially collective and produced artistic expressive activity?  Why should children find themselves involved and lodged into the doctrine of a particular faith, when they really only want to have fun and sing songs?  Why should atheist and non believer parents have to place their children into faith-based community choral groups even if there seemingly are no other musical options?  They shouldn’t.  We shouldn’t. 

So back to my question.  Where are community secular youth choirs?  If they exist, if anyone knows, please enlighten.

Handknit Felted Purse

Dear Reader:

I thought it was about time to talk a little bit about money. With the holiday shopping season upon us, it might be good to remind ourselves that money doesn’t a)grow on trees b)come cheap or c)come with no strings attached. In order to get money, you either have to earn it or borrow it. If you borrow it, you have to pay it back within a certain period of time and you have to pay extra in the form of interest. A basic rule of economics is that unless you like those nasty strings and expensive interest, you shouldn’t spend more than you earn. We Americans have trouble with that concept apparently, both at the personal and the national level. It’s no secret. We are in serious debt.

The National Debt
When Bill Clinton left office in January 2000, we had managed to balance the federal budget. Oh, we still had debt, but we were no longer adding to that debt. After 9/11, however, our spending increased as we went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. At the same time, our revenues in the form of taxes were decreased–three tax cuts were initiated even as we were increasing our military and other spending. This fiscal policy greatly increased our debt. According to the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Public Debt, on January 1, 2000 the national debt was 5.7 trillion dollars. By 2008 it had ballooned to 9.2 trillion dollars. This was during the “reign” of a supposed fiscal conservative!

Personal Debt
It’s hard to point fingers at our leaders when we are just as guilty when it comes to our own fiscal responsibility. According to Credit.com, Americans now have a revolving debt balance total of $972,494,000. While some statistics put the average credit card holder in debt of upwards of $8,000, this particular website claims that the median balance is $2,200 which really doesn’t sound all that bad. What it tells me is that if we simply bought less stuff, we could easily pay off our credit cards debt and then–gasp–maybe even begin to save some money. If we don’t begin to be fiscally responsible individually AND as a country, we are going to be in big trouble in the coming decades. Let’s talk about why.

An Informative Documentary
This morning, I watched a documentary film called I.O.U.S.A. Slanted neither to the left or right politically, this excellent film directed by Patrick Creadon explained how our country’s budgets have changed over time, the amount of debt we have taken on and when, what a balanced budget really means, how federal debt relates to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), why and how so much of our debt is owned by foreign countries (Japan, China, etc.), how the trade deficit impacts the monetary supply, the difference between fiscal policy and monetary policy, how much debt we really are in (when you count in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits we will begin paying out as the Baby Boomers reach retirement age), and more. So, how did we get into this fiscal mess? Looking back at history, it seems that most of our debt has been incurred during times of war. Wars cost money. Lots of money. The War for Independence put our fledgling nation into debt right off the bat. We managed to pay down that debt. Then the Civil War plunged us into debt. We paid that down, too. World Wars I and II were huge money-suckers. The Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are costing us hundreds of billions of dollars.

Wars are not the only debt-producers, however. In the 1930’s we spent our way out of the Great Depression by instituting social programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Until now, these programs have actually brought in more revenue than we’ve spent, making the fiscal deficit appear smaller than it really is. According to a treasury website, today’s debt is $11,991,506,876,413.07. But this figure does not include the Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid dollars we actually used to help balance the budget rather than saved for when the Baby Boomers retire. According to the writers of I.O.U.S.A. if we added in the entire debt owed in 2008, the amount would be $53,000,000,000!

Stop Paying for . . . what?
Some of us believe that simply ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will allow us to balance our budget, but the war is only 4.7% of our budget spending. Some of us believe that getting rid of earmarks and “pork-barrel” spending will solve the problem, but that only accounts for 1.27% of the budget. To see a pie chart of the 2009 budget, click here.

According to this chart, much of our budget is taken up by Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment/welfare, and interest on the national debt. If you are my age (forty-ish) or younger, you probably don’t expect to ever see Social Security or Medicare benefits, but the generations ahead of us certainly do expect to keep on getting their benefits. Unemployment benefits have been pretty important for Americans who have lost their jobs to outsourcing and the scaling back of businesses due to the housing bubble in our economy. The interest owed on our debt in probably non-negotiable. Every year as our deficit increases, our debt increases, and that pesky interest obligation will take up a bigger chunk of our pie. And just imagine what the Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid portions will look like when the Boomers start retiring in earnest.

What about revenues, you ask? We must be bringing something in. Yes, you are right. Revenues come in to the federal budget through taxation–and don’t we all just love taxes? But even with what some consider a huge tax burden, the expenditures in our budget outweigh the revenues by billions of dollars. Revenues for 2009 were estimated at 2.7 trillion while expenditures were estimated at 3.1 trillion, according to stats provided by the U.S. Government printing office and posted on Wikipedia. An Informative Book
So, if expenditures are so much greater than revenue, where does the government get the funds to cover the costs? By borrowing. The government sells bonds–more and more often to foreign governments like China–or exchanges bonds for money to be issued by the Federal Reserve. I’ve been reading about the latter in a very compelling book entitled THE WEB OF DEBT researched and written by Ellen Hodgson Brown, J.D. Click HERE to read an excerpt and learn more about the book.

Did you know the Federal Reserve Bank is not owned by the U.S. Government? I didn’t. The Fed is an independent privately-owned corporation which creates and issues money at the government’s request. The government does the printing, but the bank issues the money on credit–with interest that must be paid back. There are twelve regional Federal Reserve banks which are owned by a bunch of commercial banks. Each of these twelve regional banks own a percentage of stock in the Federal Reserve System. At the time of the books printing, New York was the largest of these and held 53%–the commercial banks that owned this New York Fed Reserve bank were Chase Manhattan, JP Morgan, and Citibank. In any case, the U.S. government (hence, we taxpayers) asks the Federal Reserve Bank to create money that will enter the economy. The creation of money is regulated by the Fed, not the government. The government does appoint the chairperson (for many years this was Alan Greenspan) whose job it is to run the Federal Reserve System and to set the interest rates. The money the U.S. government borrows, is to be paid back, with interest, to the Federal Reserve Bank. The commercial banks who own stocks in the Fed, profit. The stockholders of the commercial banks as well as the executives of these banks, profit in the form of stock increases and bonuses. Wealth, in the form of interest, thus flows from the taxpayer to the banks to the investors in those banks. Your taxes are funneled toward rich investors via national borrowing. When those investors are foreign countries–say, China–our taxes help enrich a foreign nation whose political system may be in direct opposition to our own. This is to say nothing about our trade deficit with said countries. Isn’t this interesting?

(I’m thinking that at least with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Unemployment, and Welfare at least the money goes back to Americans. If we’d just buy American-made goods, we’d keep our money right here at home where it belongs. But that’s just my opinion.)

Stop Fighting Each Other
One thing I am taking away from all this research is that all of us–liberal and conservative alike–are being used by big money, big government, and big business. I believe we are being played against one another, like pit bulls put into a ring to fight it out while the handlers profit. A pit bull only wants to eat and sleep and live his doggy life. He is forced into a fight because someone else controls him, someone who is attempting to profit off him. The “enemy” pit bull wants the same things and is put into the same position. In the end, neither the progressive nor the conservative dog wins. Each comes away bruised, ripped, and bleeding . . . or dead. Meanwhile, the handlers collect the wagers and go home smiling.

By pitting “Libertarians” against “Progressives”, the big money interests can wheel-and-deal in the shadows while we are focused on ripping and tearing into each other. We fight about government regulation, income taxes, welfare, healthcare reform, the wars on terror, drugs, and illegal immigration while all the while the bankers and the power-mongers quietly gather vast amounts of money and influence. At least, that’s how I’m beginning to see things here . . . Outside the Box.

I’ll take a poll and you take a poll and then we can all say we have been polled.  It sounds like the Prez is wearing off on me.  Next thing you know I will start giving, “a shout out!”  It’s so Barakian!

First, let’s define what it means to be free. 

Here’s my definition:  I do not cross over into any person’s boundary unless invited.  No one crosses over into my boundaries unless invited.  I agree to pay fair and just taxes and I agree to obey the rule of law.  The rule of law is equal to all.  Taxes are fair and equal to all.  My representatives give fair and equal representation to all.  If I am asked to follow everything to the letter and at 100% compliance, then it is fair to ask others, including government to do the same.

In the NEW order, it seems that everyone wants to tell me what car to drive, what food to eat, what a fair share of taxes are for ME, how much energy I may consume, and how much I may weigh.  According to these people, if we all follow their rules.  We would drive one person vehicles, breathe every other day, eat no meat, sugar, or salt, make the mark on a weight chart, gladly pay 50% or more in taxes, and do as told. 

Although I am exaggerating, it is not far from the truth!  Accordingly, we would still be Free, but someone would regulate that freedom.  Regulation of freedom by the STATE is NOT freedom.  Freedom comes from the INDIVIDUALISM, and is carefully spelled out in the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence from government CONTROL!!!!! 

It amazes me that I am the one called, “CRAZY!”  Having independent thought or opinion is now labeled, “CRAZY!!!”

Who is crazy?  Those that listen?  Those that regulate? Or those who question with reason?  I think NOT the latter.  I declare my FIRST RIGHT as an American, that of freedom of speech (and thought).  If you agree, then stand with the TEA DRINKERS!!!!

I think we should have a parade!  A parade of black caskets.  A casket for the National debt, The Federal Reserve, the US Constitution, the News Media, Taxes and the IRS, Congress, States Rights, Public (RE) Education, Health Care, Cap and Trade, and Personal Choice.    Oh and let’s not forget Public Prayer and any mention of GOD!  Our very foundation is being attacked.

It is time for a funeral, so we can ALL mourn!

In an era of political promises gone awry, it is no real surprise that the greatest change in American government would occur in the middle of the night.  In fact, it is appropriate.  Night has long been the time for thieves to prey upon victims.  Night gives deception comfort. 

As Americans came together by the hundreds of thousands,  unprecedented in my lifetime,  they were made fun of, mocked, and belittled.  Why?  We had the courage of conviction to say, “NO”.  No, we do not want more government control or interference with our “right to the pursuit of happiness”.  It is a very easy and simple idea to transfer to the public.  More government equals more control.  Less government equals less control.  My personal choices in health should NOT be controlled or authorized by the government. 

The progressives know the argument and they do not care.  All reality of choice and opinion fall upon deaf ears.  They had an agenda to grow the government hoping to attain more power and control.  They believe. 

Progressive ideology believes they are right and anything will justify the ends to attain their means.  So goes the middle of the night on the weekend where no one can call or bother them.  Maybe we lowly people will even forget by Monday morning!  Sorry, you’ve been drinking too much of your own ideologies for too long.

You have not seen how angry Americans can get when you mess with their country.  Our constitution is clear,  Congress is supposed to reflect the majority of its constituents.  When the majority continually say, “NO”!

Progressives love to talk about compromise.  Let me decode this.  Compromise means, “Get out-of-the-way, if you have the audacity to disagree with a Progressive.”

As a child my mother told me, “Sticks and stones may break your bones but words can never hurt you.”  As a mother, I have often repeated these words.  Generations of mothers before me had concerns of weather, crops, wars on their soil, child-bearing difficulties and other concerns.  The wisdom of those women have been passed long to my generation.   My grandmother always told me to constantly talk to my children, ask questions, and listen.  She often told me,  “children require constant diligence”.  It is the wisdom of these words that outweigh the previous rhyme quoted.

As a mother and grandmother I can tell you we live in a society where words are used to intimidate, control, and manuever ideologies.  Words can be used for good or evil.  Words can be used to separate or bring peace.  For those who follow the teachings of Jesus, he calls himself the eternal word.   Jesus educates to those who listen, words have  incredible power. 

Some years ago I read an article that spoke to the word, “ freedom” in another country.   Where one generation learned the meaning of freedom, by the lack of freedom under totalitarian rule.   Several generations later, the word ”freedom” had taken the complete opposite meaning. ”Freedom” now meant  oppression instead of liberty.   Both  generations spoke the same language with a different meaning.  It created an inability of one generation to pass on knowledge and an impasse in communication.  It would be heartbreaking if I had the same limitations.  My grandmother and grandfather taught me so much.  Their generation saw the Great Depression, WWII, Man on the Moon, and more.

Today’s children experience this type of re-education in the USA.  They are taught their responsibilities to government and society.  They are living with the aftermath of abuse of fossil fuels by using air conditioning when it is 100 degrees or using the Internet.  What a far cry from my generation.  I was taught that the government has a responsibility to me, that I have certain responsibilities in return when my actions impede others. 

My family came to these realizations because everything is discussed, especially with my elementary school age child. We have older children as well and we can see the changes in thought taught today.   Thankfully,  my grandparents are in my ear.  Recently we have watched some classic films from the thirties and forties, which put forth thoughts not expressed in film today.  Well, with few exceptions.   Then one such film had a profound effect, opening the door to dialogue and thought.  This film had caught the attention of my husband.  After looking around I finally found it online.   Of course, I was excited to get a gift my husband actually wanted.  Never realizing that this film from the BBC, would have  such a profound effect upon my child.  She has shown this film to many other children as well, and the discussions have been incredible.  I have learned  so much from these children.  They are very are bright, sweet, and now their eyes are opened.  They now understand the need to question what they are taught.  My child pointed out to her friends, that teachers do  not necessarily agree with what they are teaching.  That teachers have requirements by law.   We have successfully turned re-education, into an education to be questioned. 

Of course you want to know the title of this film, which I will divulge.  I also want to remind you, that we never know everything that affects our children.  Many things are in film and discussion, not just books.  As Texas reviews its textbooks, let parents beware.  Textbooks are not the only factor when looking at your child’s education.  Always talk with them, review what they are discussing as well. 

We now live in an era where more parents are becoming aware of public education’s attempts to inflict ideas and values which may not be in line with our religious convictions.  But a more insidious attempt thru film and discussion on “Global Warming” has become the new means to underscore our beliefs as a nation in regards to personal and property rights.  In teaching our children about this controversial “junk” science debunked by over 30,000 scientists, they have tried to teach our children that they are responsible to the state, to their government.  I guess the current ideological government wants to give me the pink slip.   The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence clearly states this government is PUBLIC owned.  I have been concerned since February of 2009 about The National Service Corp and the future Senior Corp.   57  Million dollars (the number might be off a million or 2)  to expand a public service program for 18 to 24-year-old  students to help them attend school and encourage volunteerism.  My concern is that is an attempt by Progressive Theocracy to re- educate young people who will fill their colleges and our public schools with additional propaganda ans pass on their  re-education.  I am truly concerned that a sinister attempt by a radical progressive administration seeking to create a power base now and for generations to come has become the goal.  Politics directed to our children! 

Textbooks are not the only issue parents now face.  NEA films,  and young ideological people, who are vulnerable because of their youth.  I should know.  I remember when I was in High School and I campaigned for Jimmy Carter.  My first vote was cast for Ronald Reagan because promises and reality are two different worlds.  Youth has always been vulnerable.  Hitler capitalized on this, as well as Mao and Stalin.  Now, we will add Obama.  Not the company I would personally want to keep as any standard for a modern Democracy or Republic. 

Thank God, truth always finds a way to come forth!

Now, we understand the food police has begun to take effect in our elementary schools.  My daughter explained to me the need to take her lunch.  Salt and sugar has been eliminated from the menu.  Why?  You will be unhealthy if you consume these and a bad citizen.  Yes,  Health Care reform for children is also here.   But my daughter has decided to remove herself from this control by taking her own lunch.   I had told her this was coming, and now she thinks I’m a physic.  Unfortunately I can just read the writing on the wall.  Basic rights are now looked upon as privileges by this current administration.

What should we do?  Well, call, write, and e-mail your Representatives. Then, whatever you do, get out and vote on everything every time.  Please consider joining the lobbyist group of everybody else, the Tea/912 movements.  We live in a time when we can bring this country back to majority rule.  We can use our rights to protect our Constitution.  Hold everyone accountable.   We can make a real difference to our children’s futures.  Do not feel alone, or even angry.  We find ourselves here because, We the People, gave politicians unbridled control.  Our debt is killing us personally and as a country.  Let’s free ourselves of Debt Tyranny.  Continue to protest, continue to watch over your children,  never let down your guard.  Together, “We the People” can stop this incredulous attempt to undermine our rights as American Citizens. 

Adults have also been lured into a new thinking thru Home Owners Associations and Anti-Smoking Campaigns.  I know that you now think I am a lunatic.  Give me one moment.  I have asthma, my parents smoked a ton, I am not advocating smoking.  I am speaking of personal rights.  Why should governments be allowed to tell people where they can smoke?  Obviously there are places you should not smoke, like around an oxygen tank.  Why should any homeowner tell another how to mow their yard?  Who is paying the mortgage and taxes?  The problem is, as always where do you draw the line?  Let’s review where rights begin and end.  People have died for our rights,  we owe this to generations who fought for these rights.   On 911 we remembered what freedom meant,  Americans we came together.  Let that resilience be carried forth in our fight to retain the actual freedoms and basic rights as put forth in our foundational documents.  That foundation is solid and proven, do not trade it in for failed ideologies.  Never let fear guide your hearts and minds.  Our government is not broken, it is corrupted.  Let’s just get rid of the corrupted ideologies and corrupted power.  I sometimes think of today’s politics as magicians.  Two magicians tell you where to look, so you will not see what is really occurring.  The magician only has the power you give them. 

As for this incredible movie, “The boy in the Striped Pajamas.”   Our house gives it the best rating possible, “it opened the eyes of our child.”   And then, it educated the parents.
