My dad loves the Beach Boys, so I grew up listening to “Sloop John B.” In the song, Brian Wilson sings, “This is the worst trip I’ve ever been on.”

That was how I felt at approximately 8:15am on Tuesday, November 17, 2009.

Let me give you a short prologue.

Back in August, she had asked me to take a look at the website of a luxury resort in Turks & Caicos where she and her husband, along with several of their friends, owned a condo. I made some recommendations, and over the following months, what began a favor for a friend grew into a six-page proposal for online marketing.

Elizabeth called me on Thursday the week before to tell me that my proposal had been approved. The Tuscany was my biggest client to date, and represented a major turning point in my career as a freelance marketer and copywriter.

I was very excited.

The next day, Elizabeth booked plane tickets for herself, Paul Hassell, and me. Paul is a talented outdoor photographer who would be taking the pictures and shooting the videos that would bring the spice to all The Tuscany’s marketing initiatives for the next eight months.

Synchronizing the schedules of four busy people had taken hours of phone calls and emails, but by the grace of God, we had managed to carve out three full days to work between two days of travel.

I was working out the final details with Elizabeth on the phone—everything from international cell phone coverage to sunscreen—when she reminded me to bring my passport.

Still incredulous that so many variables had worked to our favor, I hung up the phone and bounded up the steps to my room. I keep my passport in my humidor whose humidifier I never remember to fill.

I opened up my passport to reassure myself, and that’s when my stomach did a back flip: as of May 20, 2009, my passport was expired. On Monday at about 4:55pm, I gave Elizabeth, my friend Ben’s mother-in-law, the worst possible news, given our unique circumstances. Her response was two words: “Oh —!”

Use your imagination.

We agreed that the first order of business was to drive to the Post Office before it closed and see if they could offer any advice. I pulled in the parking lot four minutes later and slipped through the door before the woman locked it.

“Ah, you’re a sneaky one,” she said.

I smiled.

I waited in line for the woman on the far left to finish up with an elderly woman.

While I was waiting, I noticed that the post office worker had a cross taped to her plastic name plate. Cards with scriptures printed on them were also taped in several places.

This was encouraging. As a Christian, she might be more willing to help me.

“What can I do for you?” she asked in a voice thick and sweet with molasses. This was the voice of a woman who was happy because I was the last customer of the day.

“Well, I’ve got a big problem,” I said.

“Don’t tell me that!” she said. “It’s the end of the day.”

I went on to explain that my flight for Turks & Caicos left at 9:30 the next morning and my passport was expired.

The smile on her face sank into a frown.

I finished with the backstory. “Is there anything I can do?” I asked.

“Oh, you’re screwed” was her answer.

Thank you for your help, ma’am. And for the encouragement.

Varför? För en månad sedan var jag inte säker på om han var sä jäkla kul ändå. För två månader sedan visste jag inte om att han fanns. Tjejen på scenen sjöng om att hon blir kär för lätt och för snabbt och för ofta och för djupt. Hon blev kär, dissad, lämnad, ljugen för och a men ni vet. Ja ba: Ursäkta, sjöng du just det jag just tänkte? Ja det gjorde du.

I have a top-of-the-line Anti-virus program, a massive firewall, every known pop-up blocker known to man…..yet somehow….the damn NETFLIX pop-ups always manage to get past everything and jump up on my screen!

If I were a Computer Security Expert working for Microsoft or the US Government, trying to locate the authors of the thousands of worms and viruses that plague the Internet, I would look first at whoever created the damn NETFLIX pop-ups.

We have finally bought the first Christmas present of the season. One tiny little present, with 100 people still to buy for, but it is a start.

Give me 10 seconds at one of those Gift Card racks that contains cards for 100 different stores….and I can finish my Christmas Shopping in the blink of an eye.

I am still sadistic enough that I would buy a gift card for someone, put it into a 7ft tall box, weight it down with 20 bricks, then wrap it with 3 layers of wrapping and 2lbs of duct tape, just to disguise the fact that a gift card is contained inside.

While eating at a Chinese Buffet yesterday, I think that me and my nephew got our fortune cookies mixed up. His fortune said “You will soon enjoy great success in the Stock Market”. Mine said “An Itch not relieved by scratching is a sign of approaching manhood”.

I am starting to waiver on my lifelong support of the Death Penalty. This past week, yet another man was executed here in Texas. He and his friend had been convicted of murdering a store clerk. His friend was the shooter. The shooter was tried separately was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. The accomplice was found guilty in his trial but was sentenced to death, even though he was not the shooter. A State Board issued a report to our Governor which recommended that the accomplice have his death sentence commuted to life in prison, the same sentence as the shooter. The Governor denied the recommendation and had the man executed earlier this week. And…..it’s an election year……here in a state which is HEAVILY Pro-Death Penalty………

So, the accomplice is dead, and the shooter is alive and well in prison for the rest of his life. Welcome to Texas Justice.

Cica Antonescu a castigat in Bucuresti si alte cateva orase mari, probabil astea gen Timisoara, Iasi s.a.m.d. insa a luat putin la tara. Pai uite de ce, pentru ca la vot s-au dus la vot toti ciobanii aia care au primit un cacat pe bat ca sa voteze cu Rahat-in-ploaie. Altfel nu poti sa-ti explici. Orice om normal la cap, care are treaba cat de cat cu viata, il vota pe Antonescu, mai ales dupa ce au fost alea 2 dezbateri unde a maturat cu aialalti pe jos. Sau hai, nu ca vota cu Antonescu, dar nu vota cu Geoana sau Basescu. Daca, insa, nu ai treaba cu astea si habar n-ai ca pentru 20 RON te vinzi unui pulifric de la un partid, ori stai in ma-ta acasa, ori da-ti foc.

Cica a fost aprobat referendumul si o sa avem parlament unicameral. Bai, da’ tampitii aia care au votat DA, stiu ce e aia parlament unicameral? Stiu macar ce e ala parlamentul? Sau tot asa, pentru 20 RON i-au lasat pe altii sa se cace pe ei?

Mi-am adus aminte, uite de ce zic ca aia cu putin creier in cap si care au vreo treaba cu civilizatia l-au votat pe Antonescu. Cum va explicati ca pe cam orice site intru in care exista intrebarea “Pe cine votezi?” Antonescu conduce, ca sa nu mai zic ca pe blogul lui Ciutacu, intr-un sondaj, are 40% peste ceilalti. Plus de asta, am zis deja ca Antonescu a castigat in orasele mari, de unde rezulta destul de clar, zic eu, ca pe Antonescu l-au votat aia care s-au informat, nu taranii care sunt de vanzare pentru un litru de sperma de cal pe fata.

Da, Florin, am o anumită problemă. Mă învârt în cerc. Mă învârt nu într-un cerc cu oameni inteligenţi care nu asociază deşteptăciunea cu numărul facultăţilor absolvite nici prezenţa la referendum cu dorinţa de schimbare. Mă învârt într-un altfel de cerc. Un cerc românesc.

Cercul mea are raze de simplicism şi diametrul e de humă. De fapt, e pământ sau lupta pentru pământ. Fiecare cu partea lui şi fiecare cu susţinătorii lui. Cercul meu e mare şi negru cu iluzii gri şi vorbe verzi care amintesc cumva de speranţa de altădată. Cercul meu se închide dimineaţa şi se deschide peste câteva ore pentru a se închide din nou mai greu de deschis.

Cercul meu nu mai speră ca va deveni un pătrat cu laturi perfecte. Cercul meu se pregăteşte să plece din cercul lui pentru a se duce la cercurile lor. Cercul meu nu are speranţe. Nici vise.

Cercul meu votează. Votează cum crede el că e mai bine şi se supără de fiecare dată când un alt cer întră în raza lui vizuală. Nu, două cercuri sunt prea mult pentru o singură prostie.

I’m sick and tired. And not of one thing, but of many of them. I don’t even know where to start, which annoys me the most. Since recently the only thing getting me angry was because of the stealing-sharing thing let’s begin with that one. I confess that i know that i won’t get Oscar or either Nobel prize for translating articles to English from Finnish but i would have expected that at least i would get a Thank you from people, since we are supposed to be friends and not enemies (but recently it turned out that between fans we are more like enemies than united friends whatever). I really wouldn’t mind if people would post my translations on all the sites they have, the only thing i was asking is to give a proper link where from they have it since it was me who have spend time on doing it. It might sound i’m selfish, but if i would be i wouldn’t be doing those articles and post them. The second thing that is keeping me pretty annoyed is when people start insulting my friends without to even know more about them than just a forum nickname. Get a life and insult those you know for a longer time and you know more about them than just that. The third thing that i will write about is the fact some idiot some people can act when it comes to make themselves bigger and bigger in the eyes of someone. I hate those people who think that they know The Rasmus just because they have spent a night with them in a bar (where btw the guys were half -if not fully- drunk), and then come on you and tell this and that. And you know that you have been talking with them when sober and they have told you something totally different and you know you’re right and if you tell them they are wrong they immediately came crashing on you that you just have to shut up because it wasn’t you who have been with them more hours. Yeah right, let’s face they will never show their real personalities to none of the fans, they will always be friendly and nice with us, but we will never truly know the real Lauri Ylönen, Aki Hakala, Eero Heinonen and Pauli Rantasalmi… we’ll always know only the nice and friendly drummer, the smiling singer, the yoga-freak and silent bass player and the always hiding afro guitar player.
I have just found out i’ve been banned from a forum. Wow, i have to be proud of myself. I think i had all my right to fight for what i want and that was the reason why. Who cares? I have another nice forum where to stay how much i want This is just another proof from the admins of that forum that they are running from the responsibilities and problems as Oana said, they can’t face the real life and they just want to live peacefully in their own dream world without to be woken up by anyone. The route isn’t much like the one I intended to follow when I set out.  Milton was a diversion for a cash machine.  I was going to go to Swavesey before Over but the road signs had different ideas.  I saw a sign that said “Fen Drayton 2 miles” and thought ‘why not’.  The last stretch of road between Fen Drayton and Fen Stanton wasn’t inviting, and the ’shared cyclepath’ had people ambling along it, so I decided it wasn’t worth the effort just for a photo.  My original plan had been after Over to go back through Cottenham to Wilburton then Wicken and get food at Wicken Fen, then come home via Upware and Stow-cum-Quy.  The strong winds on the Fen Drayton diversion put me off going much further.  I had lunch at the Old Dairy Cafe again and the heavens opened while I was eating, so that (at about 65km down) put me off going any further than I had to.  Plus the speedo had died already and I din’t want to do a big ride without measuring it, nothing to boast about then.

M536 SUR, a red Vauxhall Astra, was todays bad driver.  I wanted to turn right in Swavesey, off the road from Fen Drayton, at a mini roundabout.  I had right of way but saw that he wasn’t stopping for me.  This was because he was too busy looking at his mobile phone.  Tw$%.

Oh yes, and a Kestrel decided to buzz me then fly parallel to me about a foot off the ground just after Fen Drayton lakes.  It gave me someting to watch while the wind held me down at 20km/h.

I’ve been a little sleepy and/or out of it the past few days. So much going on… I’m just trying to not fall down the rabbit hole. I realize it’s probably not so good to start a story off with excuses, but I have to give you an idea of what we’re working with here. I’ve been so out of it I drank coffee EVERY day this week. I don’t even like coffee, but if I didn’t have it, I wasn’t going to make to the shower in the morning… let alone work.

So, today I woke up at 6:00 a.m. to get ready to go snowboarding in Keystone. No big deal. Pulled everything together, applied layer after layer of socks, pants, shirts etc. and stumbled out the door. Stopped for some coffee and was on my way. I made it to the meeting spot, switched my board, boots, bag and belongings to another car and settled in for the ride up. Right before we left I quick (well nothing was very quick this morning) ran meandered back to my car to grab the new CD I’d made. Can’t go on without it. Turned the car on, hit eject and ran back to deliver the goods. And deliver I did.

About, oh, 7 hours pass. We head back down the mountain and I realize I don’t have my keys. Can’t find them ANYWHERE. Not in my bag, not in my coat, not in my pants. NO WHERE. You want to know where they were? Take a guess. Really, do it. They were in the ignition. In a parking lot. For 7 hours. Now, before you tell me what an idiot I am (I know, I know), you have to know that I also left the car on. Battery is now dead and I’m out of gas.

The local police chief in Ozark, Arkansas is standing behind one of his officers who tasered a 10-year-old girl who was refusing to go to bed.

The bizarre story is laid out in a police incident report obtained by website The Smoking Gun.

Officer Dustin Bradshaw was called to the home by a woman complaining that her daughter was being unruly and refusing to go to sleep. Bradshaw wrote that when he arrived at the home, he found Kiara Medlock “balled up in (sic) the floor crying and screaming.”

After watching her mother attempt to get Kiara into the bathtub with little success, Bradshaw took the girl into the living room and threatened her with jail. That didn’t settle things down. At some point, Bradshaw claims Kiara’s mother told him to “taser her if I needed to.”

Bradshaw then tried to handcuff Kiara. But he couldn’t manage that either.

To hear Bradshaw tell it, he was now in the midst of a full-on brawl on the living-room floor with Kiara, a Grade 5 student. The 65-pounder was “verbally combative … struck me with her legs and feet in the groin,” Bradshaw wrote.

That’s when he reached for his holster and delivered a “very very (sic) brief drive stun to her back with my taser.”

Unsurprisingly, Kiara’s struggling stopped immediately. Bradshaw then cuffed her and carried her to his squad car, since she could no longer walk.

The incident hit the news when Kiara’s father, Anthony Medlock, took exception. Medlock does not live with Kiara’s mother.

“I want to know how the heck in God’s green earth can they get away with this … If you can’t pick the kid up and take her to your car, handcuff her, then I don’t think you need to be an officer,” Medlock told local Ozark 40/29 news. He said his daughter has shown signs of emotional issues, but she “doesn’t deserve to be treated like a dog.”

The local police chief stood behind Bradshaw and his decision.

“He had no other choice. He had to get the child under control,” said Ozark police Chief Jim Noggle.

No disciplinary action is pending against Bradshaw. However, the Associated Press has reported that the FBI has dispatched agents to Arkansas to investigate.

Medlock said he will attempt to gain sole custody of his daughter.

Wow, this came up out of the blue.  Apparently what has happened is that someone hacked into a couple of pro Global Warming organizations and found some information that Al Gore does not want you to see.  Supposedly, this stuff shows how they have fought to keep information from the Freedom of Information requests that prove Global Warming is not happening.  They have changed temperature data to prove that global warming is a serious problem.  Does this really surprise anyone? 

I think that these scientists should really lose all credibility and credentials for being lying pieces of sh*t.  They should be ruined professionally and prevented from ever being a scientist again nor should they be able to take a lessor job in the scientific community.  However, this probably won’t happen but it really should.  I’m tired of dishonest scientists trying to govern my life and how I live it.   It should be MY decision on how I want to live my life and my finances should govern what I do…Not some dishonest scientist who are inflating temps for the purpose of deception.  Yes, Al Gore can kiss every inch of my big fat @ss.

Again, I’ve been told how I am part of the problem since I refuse to agree with the idiots.  Really, if there was a legitamite problem, would scientist have to inflate temps and use dishonest methods?  Absolutely not if it were real.  I have never done anything special for earth day.  In fact, I’ve left every light on in my house and went to work and had all of those lights on too each earth day.  I guess this makes me much smarter than 99% of liberals who believe this crap.  This even makes me 100% smarter than Barak Huisane Obama.  Wow, to think that I didn’t even go to Harvard.

Peer reviewed means absolutely nothing.  Peer reviewed just means this is a group conspiracy to bilk the country of all of it’s money and ruin it with such idiotic programs as Cap and Tax.  Again, if this was a legitimate theory then why would numbers have to be inflated and why would they have to use so much deception?  This is easy!  Because I’ve called it the Man-made Global Warming Scam.  It’s a scam for the suckers and the idiots.  Al Gore has the mentality of a snake oil salesman.

Even though this has been the coolest year for the US, Al Gore is out there saying that we are warming.  Really Al?  Ya think?  I’m sorry, most of us have had to wear warmer clothes this year because of the “warming!”  If Al is smart, he’ll get rid of his stocks and investments based on green things and start advocating that global warming does not exist.  That way he won’t wind up eating macaroni and cheese because his house of cards are coming down as this crap is exposed.  It’s hard to advocate global warming when we have emails from these so-called “Scientists” engaging in dishonest reporting to prove their stupid theory.

Again, most of what Al Gore said would happen, has not happened nor is it close to happen.  Why don’t the AP pull people from fact checking Sarah Palin and have them fact check the hypocrite Al Gore?

Went to the Doc yesterday due to three of my surgical sites looking infected. I had the surgery to remove the skin cancers almost 4 weeks ago, yet due to my poor circulation because of the spinal cord damage, and due to the high amount of blood thinning medication I take, a few of the sites were never able to heal. I was given some “Horse Strength” antibiotics to take for the next 3-5 years which the Doctor guarantees will knock out any infection in my body and in anyone Else’s body that happens to come within 10 feet of me. He did say however that the medication would grow hair on my tongue, cause my finger and toenails to turn green, would cause uncontrollable rectal bleeding, and that my testicles would retract up into my abdomen.

I think I would rather die of my staph infection than be forced to sit through any of the “Twilight” movies.

We have not bought a single Christmas present as of yet.

A house down the block already has it’s Christmas lights on.

Citibank is raising the interest rates on the credit card my wife has held for over 20 years to 21%…..even though we always pay off the balance. There is no reward for being a loyal customer anymore.

It seems to me that a year ago, I would get about a dozen mailers a week from every credit card company under the sun trying to sell me a credit card. Now we get none.

Should I be worried that my wife is trying to get me into looking into pre-paying for my funeral/cremation costs in advance…..yet mentions nothing about her own arrangements? If I should keel over under questionable circumstances….someone call the Authorities and refer them to this blog.

I saw on the news last night that Seattle has had rain for 30 of the past 35 days. Here, our town has not had a drop of rain for the entire month of November.

I have taken to watching the BBC World News on BBC AMERICA to get an unbiased recap of our daily political happenings here in the US. Our major cable news channels have gotten to be a joke. FOX is blatantly Republican, MSNBC is blatantly Democrat, and CNN is too busy doing “human interest specials” like “Black in America”, “Latino in America”, “Asian in America”, “Gay in America”, “Cross Dressing, heel wearing, leather-clad, tap-dancing Businessman in America”….etc.

Suami saya (28 tahun ) juga sudah memeriksakan diri ke dokter, dan hasilnya dia dalam keadaan sehat jasmani. 2) Apakah risiko merokok pada ibu hamil maupun pada janin? 3) Apakah saran dokter untuk kehamilan saya ini agar bayi saya lahir sehat?
