Here is a list of free stuff on the web. I can say that I’ve used it all and it works very well for the most part. I hope this helps some people out. I always have people asking me for the websites to some of the things I use to fix spyware and all kinds of other stuff. If you have any suggestions for free stuff please let me know.

Idrive.com allows you to backup your data from your computer on their servers. You can get 10 gigs of data for free to backup your files. If you want to pay you can get I think 100 gigs for 50 dollars a year. .

freeconferencecall.com. It allows you to host a conference call with I believe up to 96 people. Don’t quote me on that. But it beats paying eight cents per minute per person for a conference call with AT&T

http://magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ have you ever needed to find your windows or office key. Well there you go. This finds it for you.

mint.com. Use at your own risk. You plug in your financial info and it tells you where all your money is going

http://www.safer-networking.org . This saves your computer when you’ve been looking at porn and get spy ware on your machine. I think a lot of people know about this product by now.

Hijack this is another good free tool for getting rid of spyware
http://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10227353.html

AVG virus scan. If you don’t want to pay get some basic protection
http://free.avg.com/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition

Searchme.com is a cool search engine that I found. It’s really cool app for the iphone

For all the cool things coming out

In a word, YES. And not just because some of them are now FREE.

93% of computer users have NO backup of their important data and photos, or have a backup “plan”… but don’t use it correctly.

Hard drives eventually fail. Average life span is (supposedly) 5 years (at “normal” usage of 8 hours/day), but I see “new” drives fail more often than they should. Data recovery fees can easily top $1,000. There is never a guarantee your data can be resurrected… and the frustration, tears, and down time just plain suck.

Windows XP and Vista both have local built-in backup features, but there is a problem. You are usually backing up to a hard drive, CD-ROM, DVD, or flash drive. All these can can fail, or can be stolen. I do recommend you use some sort of local backup, at the very least. An external hard drive is the best way to go. For better (or additional) protection, use an online backup service.

Online backup has come a long way. There are now several great services you can use to painlessly backup the files of your choice on a secure, remote system. All you need is an Internet connection. Online backup services do the work for you automatically, and let you easily restore your files in case of disaster or accidental deletion. Some services even let you access or sync your files remotely, from any computer.

Below are the top online backup services. Most offer either free space or a free trial. (Note: 2 GB is plenty of space to back up your important documents, spreadsheets, etc… and hundreds of treasured photos).
