Hi everybody,

it is still winter in my little real life corner. It is cold outside but we don´t have snow, so it is gray outside and it is boring outside  …. and inside  as well *yawns*  Give me some snow to have fun with outside, or give me some whatever to have fun with inside ) You know what? I didn´t get snow but fun, both at RC Cluster.

Firstly, there´s the Festival of Sleep!

Best event ever! You can come undone, wearing your jammies, and  you are not expected to socialize or do anything other than sleep ) Also you get freebies, one a day.

Shown below is the sleeping pillow, it is the freebie of day 1. I am sorry for posting it too late, I got RC Cluster´s group notice at about 2 am, just tped over to pick up the pillow and logged out immediately to have … uhm …  some sleep ) Stars and moons in different sizes, all scripted to change the colors, are the freebie of the 2nd day.

Secondly, I had a lot of fun trying out all the poses and tools and gadgets offered at RC Cluster. And I got  2 new hairstyles for free I noticed a sign on the huge freebie wall, and had a look around.  The Boogie Oogie Oogie Afro as well as Boogie Oogie Oogie Disco hair were free.

That´s me, trying out one of  RC Cluster`s great Pin Up poses. I am expected to wear a duster but the hammer is also nice … it makes a totally different view )

The pretty skin  is the newest (and great!)  group gift (join fee!, gift still in notice archives)  from Exodi. Stephanie  London Bound skin comes in all skin tones, freckled, with cleavage and without and so on. You get eyes and prim nail gloves too. The lip make up might not be  your taste but I like this one, although I am not a huge fan of “unusual” make ups.

Ribbon leggings and Swooped sweater are another fab group gift from Atomic (join fee!, get your VIP New Years group gift in-store). The sweater comes with skirt prim and leggings come with bows.  I didn´t wear these additions just because the poses looked better without prim skirt. And the bows didn´t cooperate with my ankle boots )

You get Pirate Boots – Soft Leather (Field) plus Pirate ankle boots if you are a subscribo-group member of Mentine (former Biddle Boots). And you should be one because these boots are stunning. Not only are they scripted to resize them, you can also choose different textures, colors, walk sound and walk AO. Too much cookies and chocolate *shrugs*. But I´m still pretty cute )

COCO is fast becoming one of my favorite stores.  The love affair started with the Slim Fit pants in silver, continued on through those same pants in every available color, and has now moved forward into every aisle of the store.  The designs of Cocoro Lemon are stylish and varied.  Seriously…I challenge you to go into that store and not find at least one thing that catches your eye.  From shoes and accessories, to separates and dresses; there is a little bit of everything at COCO. 

Recently, I snagged this fantastic black bomber jacket.  And when I say fantastic, I mean F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!  It’s cropped just about the waist and the sculpted attachments add just the right flair.  I love the little details here, especially the tabs on the zippers.  The pushed up sleeves sort of give it an edge, and I decided to take it in the direction of biker chic.

I paired it with a khaki tank top, also from COCO.  I definitely wanted a bare midriff so I could wear my favorite piercing:  the tummy studs by [skream!]. 

Denim was sort of a must with this look, so I went back to COCO for the pants that started this whole love affair, the slim fit pants in black.  Of course, the boots had to be the Ving Boots from Shiny Things.  If there was ever a pair of boots made for a ride on a motorcycle (or standing in the middle of a line of fire as is the case here), these are it.  My hair is from Magika; Lust of course, but this time in Black.  It’s edgy, sexy, and stylish all in one.  Perhaps that’s why I wear it so often.  The look was coming together at this point, and I added some fingerless gloves and some shiny silver sunglasses for a bit of drama.

I needed some jewelry to finish off this look, but I didn’t want to wear too much.  As I was trying various things from my inventory, I remembered a notecard I’d received earlier in the week announcing the Kalnera set by alaMood.  I knew it would be perfect with this look, so I tp’d over there as fast as SL would let me.  Much to my disappointment, the store was under remodel and Kalnera was not out for purchase.  While I am generally hesitant to approach a designer, I’ve known Jori Watler for some time so I sent her an IM and convinced her that I NEEDED that set NOW.

As you can see, Jori was gracious enough to respond to my fashion emergency and came down to the store to help me out.  I’m extremely grateful because Kalnera is perfect with this look, just as I thought it would be.  alaMood has some fantastic jewelry sets; so if you’ve not been there yet do go take a look.  There are several pieces I like, but I love Kalnera a lot.  It’s a statement necklace without overpowering the entire outfit.

COCO is a fantastic store with a myriad of fantastic choices for all of you fashionistas out there.  Be sure to check them out on your next shopping trip around the grid.

It’s January 4th, 2010. In Japan today was officially the first work day of the new year, what we call ’shigoto-hajime’. Today used to kick off another year of work, but it depends on where they work for now and ’shigoto-hajime’ is nothing like the 1st day of another year anymore…..

Anyway, today kicks off another year of Shampooo because we just released a new stuff, a checked coat as below. We offer 6 types of colors.

I should have been back at work today, but with a plan as cunning as a fox who is Professor of Cunning at Oxford University I anticipated my complete unwilling to venture into the office and booked the day off in advance. Hell awaits me tomorrow. In any case, consider this look some kind of homage to those who braved the freezing conditions and ventured back to their workplaces.

The shirt and waistcoat are from an outfit by DCNY. They can be worn separately but also come as a combination piece, very useful for those occasions where you run out of layers. The striped dress shirt is tightly tailored, buttoned to the stomach but left undone over the chest, revealing all you may care to share. Prim cuffs turn back to the wrists with a flat collar folding beneath the open waistcoat. The overlayer maintains the striped theme, clean lines and an all-concealing back panel creating a classic formal you can mix and match for maximum wear.

Cleavage is sexy, but a hint of lace hits that little bit harder. I slipped into the underwear by Insolence which I recently blogged, favouring Deborah’s wide central gore. The rose accent adds a highlight to the embroidery which peeps out from hiding, nearly concealed lace cups just teasing through the edges. Of course if you’re going to pull this off you need a skin to support your efforts: Belleza’s Jesse has a cleavage option that provides the necessary uplift, and has more than enough makeup options to ensure a match to whatever you’re wearing at the time.

The skirt is another of Veschi’s recent releases. As the name suggests, there’s a retro feel to it, but pair it well and you can pull it off as flouncy formal and no one will bat an eyelid (although I certainly had a few eyebrows raised my way on another account). The pencil skirt sits high on the stomach, darted with beading that borders the satin waistband and runs down a centre seam and along the hem. Flirty ruffles on either side are similarly tipped for some added glamour. I must admit though, my favourite feature here is the bum – since this I am one half of a symbiotic relationship and my typist by necessity spends a large amount of time staring in that general direction, she dictates the importance of such things. Veschi really does a fantastic behind: the wrinkles and shading accentuate your assets for great effect, without it looking like any real effort was made.

An outfit like this demands leg coverage and Sheer are a longstanding favourite of mine for hosiery. Sh Oluja is an expert when it comes to seaming, and has produced a huge range of tights and stockings of varying complexity in design, all flawless in their tailoring. This particular pair are fairly simplistic by Sh’s standards, but nonetheless they’re high impact, starting semi-opaque on the thigh and fading to black around the lower leg. The backs run with a central seam which reverses colour to the heel for a visible continued line with heel

Caroline’s cameo was my choice for an accessory that compliment the obvious visual focus. It sits just high enough to the throat, a black ribbon tie supporting an oval pendant. With the frills on this outfit, the vintage style is comfortable (if not a little tongue in cheek): the raised relief and backing colour can be changed through a scripted menu for a range of choices from portraits to florals and more besides.

The bag is from +plus, a cylindrical style with cloth-quilt texturing. It’s a basic piece with stiff handles hinged on thick silver hoops, strapped around the bag in black leather bands. The colour contrast is inkeeping with the rest of the outfit, and as the purse isn’t too dressy it doesn’t steal from the rest of the look.

There wasn’t much else that needed doing to the outfit, so I finished with one of Truth’s recent hair releases. Reese is a loose style that’s so unusual you may look at it for some time and wonder if it quite suits: if you want to give your av an edge and individuality you’ll certainly find it does. The hair is choppy all over, long to the front and actually drawing shorter to the back, the main body curving softly in with locks flying free from all angles, the face left open for dramatic effect with the right skin.

My friend Maht’s weekly Sunday gigs at the Velvet are definitely one of my weekend highlights.  Good music and good company are never a bad way to spend an evening in any life.  They are also, however, an opportunity for me to put a look together.  I always try to wear something fun and new to his sets, though I do have a few favorites I fall back on from time to time.  For tonight’s set, I created a fun look built around the Three Goddesses Print Tank Top by Blowpop.

I really love this top.  It has a beautiful texture and a certain style to it that makes it a bit out of the ordinary.  It comes with panties too, which are a fun option.  And you get several shirt length and layer options for added versatility.  It could easily be paired with a myriad of items for different looks.  This is a definitely a top to have fun with.

For my look today, I wanted a mixture of urban, ethnic, and maybe a bit of Boho.  I tend to wear more urban inspired outfits to the Velvet on Sundays, but then urban is sort of my look of choice, really.  I decided to pair the top with the Garage Jeans from League, but without the sculpted pockets.  I really just adore these jeans…they’re probably my favorite jeans on the grid right now.  The look needed a belt so I added the Leather n Laced belt from Earthstones in chocolate for a touch of boho chic.

The boots are from Shiny Things; Ving boots of course because I adore these.  But this time,  I wore the warm brown instead of the black.  They still have that urban feel I was looking for, but the brown is better suited to this top I think. 

My bracelets and earrings come from Zaara; the Indra Painted Stacked Bangles in Gold and the  Sarayi Painted Hoops, also in Gold.  I loved both of these because they were a bit chunky and very  colorful, which paired nicely with the tank top.  I added the Coin Necklace from Maitreya and the beauty mark piercing by [skream!] to round out the look.  My hair is from Magika:  Lust in Brown A.  This has quickly become my “signature hair”.  I wear it more than any other hair in my inventory because it is fabulous!

So there is a quick lotd built around the Three Goddesses Tank Top by Blowpop.  Urban with an ethnic flair?  Urban with a touch of Boho chic?  I’m not entirely sure what I’d classify it under, but it’s fun no matter what style you decide it fits into.

Today I was wandering around the Grid. Aimlessly. Clicking any landmark inside my inventory I spent hours by hours exploring places. I found a couple of very nice places but in this post I want to show you 1920s Berlin. It is great, it is History, and I simply love this spot. And  especially for you, my dear freebie freaks ),  there are  freebies. Of course, you can wear the cute, old-fashioned dresses and also suits for men whenever and wherever you like. You HAVE to wear this outfits if you want to visit 1920s Berlin area! Before I post pics and a landmark here I would like to quote  the rules (even though you get a notecard when you tp in). Please, read  and respect the rules!  It´s gonna be a long text, therefore I add a “cut”. Sorry, if this “cut” doesn´t appear in the feeds!

Welcome to 1920s Berlin!
* PLEASE READ THIS NOTE OR RISK BEING EJECTED*
I am sorry that we are so strict but we try to create a historic experience for all and people not following the rules may ruin the atmosphere for our other guests.

- WHAT YOU MUST DO, WHETHER YOU ARE VISITING OR THINKING OF STAYING –
As long as you stay in the entrance square where you arrived, there are only 2 rules;
-We do NOT want to see or hear anything Nazi related.
-Do not harass others, that includes asking permission to bite them (bloodlines, etc).
Besides these two rules the square is free to everyone.
You can walk around here and visit a few shops.
BUT if you want to enter the sim and see our cinema, club, other shops and much more, we ask you to follow a few more rules.
So PLEASE make sure you understand them BEFORE you enter our sim trough the tunnel or by leaving the shops trough their front doors.
People pay rent to live here in a 1920s theme and visitors expect this.
THE RULES:
* Wear 1920’s Clothing, if you are a human avatar, -OR- be a realistic animal (cats and dogs that are realistic are welcome).
We give FREE outifits away, they are in the boxes in the cart in the square  where you enter. If you are found in Berlin without an 1920s outfit, you will be asked to return to the front to take a free outfit.
The outfits we offer you may perhaps not be what you like but they are common 1920s clothes and you can always decide to buy something more upperclass.
You can not leave this entrance square to look for other clothes, wear the freebies to shop outside this entrance area.
* NO Nazi’s, NO uniforms.
We will NOT allow anything Nazi related, not only do we frown upon such behaviour, some of it is also directly against SL policy.
So no Nazi uniforms, logos, comments, etc.

No other uniforms either please, unless you ask us permission first, generally we only allow people we trust to wear uniforms because often the uniform comes with a certain level of responsibility and power, such as the police members we have at the moment.
We KNOW that the Nazis were part of Berlin in the 1920s but we want to show what Berlin was like before that scum took over the city.
If we see anything remotely Nazi related on someone without permission we will  automatically ban you.
Please also don’t waste any time trying to discuss this rule with us.
If we ever decide to allow people in Nazi uniforms it will be only for educational purposes, not roleplay or ‘war gaming’ and we will only allow people we have known for a long time and that we trust to take part in this.
We do not want to ignore or hide this subject, look around and you will see traces of Nazi history, we will also allow and spromote discussions on the subject.
Please feel free to talk about Nazis, 1920s politics, the Second World War, etc.
We often have debates about them over a glass of schnapps in the club.
But we will not allow people in Berlin who are pro or even neo-nazi.
So we are not banning the subject or covering it up, we just try and keep the people out who run around in WW2 (!) Nazi uniforms shouting ‘Heil Hitler’.
Yes it happens, thats why we make these long rules.
For us, authenticity and realism are very important. We try to recreate a feeling, almost a journey back in time. Thats why we ask you to dress in 1920s, or early 1930s style and, although this isn’t an extreme 100% roleplay zone, you are encouraged to act the part. We want EVERYONE that visits to feel as if they are really back in time, really visiting the 1920s, so, please don’t ruin this experience for others by ignoring the rules. We want our guests to look like what could have been seen on the streets of 1920s Berlin. Please don’t wear clothing only worn by burlesque dancers on stage while going outside. You may get in trouble, or a cold! Don’t wear too short dresses (above the knee dresses were rarely seen) in public, try not to wear modern glasses, men try, (if you can) to get some short hair, etc, etc.
If your avatar does not look like someone or something that you could have seen in 1920s Berlin, please adapt or we will ask you to leave.
* Breaking the rules in a extreme manner or after several warnings and rude behaviour may get you banned.
Calling our staff or Polizei names will get you banned as well.
If your avatar is not authentic or realistic but you really badly want to visit or have some original idea to somehow fit in, feel free to call Jo Yardly or any of our ‘Polizei’ staff and they will gladly talk to you and, if there are no other guests, MAY allow you to have a quick look anyway.
- Child avatars, animal avatars, are both welcome, AS LONG AS THEY ARE AUTHENTIC AND REALISTIC for 1920s Berlin.
The freebie clothes can easily be adapted for child avatars.
-Animals shouldnt talk, walk on 2 legs, be half human, etc. And yes… in Berlin people didn’t have wings, pointy ears, claws, vampire teeth, etc, except on stage. Of course we expect child avatars NOT to enter our night club during shows and stay out of the hotel. Any inappropriate behaviour may result in banning of anyone involved.
-Vulgair and obscene behaviour in public will get you either arrested by the Polizei or ejected/banned from the sim.
This includes being naked but can also mean not wearing enough clothes for 1920s standards.
-Asking people if you can bite them so they become vampires will get you banned instantly.
Right, lets assume you agree to follow our rules… Welcome to Berlin!
Walk around, enjoy, feel at home in the past.

And I used it 2 weeks ago when I baked christmas cookies. What?  Hehe, nooo, of course I never used it to greet my husband sneaking in late at night! Oh well, seldom )

Despite the time I spent people watching at the opening of the new Tableau today, I did in fact manage to get in a spot of shopping. True to form, these new designs from Paper Couture, Clawtooth, Kenzie & Co, Tres Blah and others that I need to go back to investigate further, are vibrant, luxuriously textured, elegant, finely finished and refreshing. Shall we see?

This first look is casual: I’ve teamed the short crop top from Kenzie & Co with the Shark cardy from Tres Blah. The skirt is from SMS and the shoes are C.Edo from Truth.

After the disastrous destruction of Tableau a few weeks back, it is pleasing to see a resurrection. Off I went today to see what it would bring, and I found a new Tableau, a small town obviously having felt the effects of the recent world wide financial crisis (which we are told is over haha). Even though it looks like times may have been tough, the residents have banded together to invigorate their town. Somewhat worn around the edges, it is clean and tidy; indeed best efforts have been made to recycle by putting a store in the old cinema. See for yourself!

The early morning opening brings shoppers, fashionistas, bloggers, designers, people from all walks of life as well as I believe were a couple of Lu Sisters.

An enormous range of customer arrived. Many dressed down for the event, ditching frippery and froth for a streamlined efficiency. Others blatanty wore their gorean huds announcing their mood to all, combat systems, human-on-a-leash systems and other nonsense. However, everyone coped the best they could!

Do you remember Lostwood? A while ago I wrote a blog  entry about the little shop and its beautiful surrounding  … it is still there.

Lostwood offers cute stuff, really cute stuff! Piercings, tattoos, bangles, bracelets, earrings, and “mouth thingies” (or however they are called) … all things I mentioned in my earlier post are still there. Even a few more. And a lot of freebies and cheapies …. also a prize camp and a tip jar

I know I said I`m done blogging christmas gifts but Lostwood has 2 of them still out. It would be a pity to hide the cute gifts  in my inventory. There is the Snowflake Pipe and the  Christmas backpack.

We have moved the main store. The new main store will be in the WAKA and Yuki SIM. The TSUKIJI store will remain as a branch store.

The new SIM will open completely at February 14th. However, we have set up a main store in a skybox for the time being. We will try our best to ensure you can shop conveniently, so please bear with us.

I hope everyone is having a nice 1st of January 2010! Are you okay? No hangover? I´m just asking because you better should not suffer from headache if you want to join me on my trip. We are going to Photon`s  Castle to have “fantastical sculpted fun”. And we gonna have a bright and very colorful trip! Don´t worry, no drugs have been harmed while building this spot/typing this post )

I found the TP to Photon`s Castle in my landmarks folder …  no idea where I got it from. I´ve never been at Photon`s Castle before. And that´s a shame!

Well, now that you have your pretty free outfits, and you already have seen a bit of Photon`s Castle in my pics let´s go for a walk. Warning: it´s going picture heavy now! This is your landing point:

Almost everything you see while exploring this wonderful place is for sale. Just walk inside Photon´s Castle. It´s colorful and huge. There`s a lot of patterns, and there are 3 (or 4?) floors. It might be a bit confusing. However, you should really have a look!

At Photon`s Castle you can find well done and unique goods  as toys, landscape and garden stuff, gadgets, avatar accessoires and furniture. Prices are very moderate. My favorite furniture are the cup chairs )

The upper floors (levels) are  working areas but visitors are allowed to look around. See this fascinating machinery:

And outside Photon´s Castle there is  wonderland Little spots named Mushroom Patch, Dangerous Jungle (be aware of the bee hive, it´s  going wilde!),  Orange Bloom,  Ice Cream Mountain, Pink Falls and Mermaid Lagoon. Here are some pics of my favorites:

Photon`s Castle

Technically, I should have been showing you the best lingerie set of 2009 yesterday, but alas my schedule did not work out that way.  Instead, we’re going to spend the first day of the New Year looking back at my favorite lingerie set of 2009.  This is the set that is definitely the most ‘me’.  While I do have that girly, princess side I mentioned before, my dark side always comes first. This set is my darkness turned into lingerie.   My pick for the #1 lingerie set of 2009 is Belle by Blacklace.

Blacklace is one of my first loves as far as SL lingerie is concerned and I still marvel at the designs Mariska Simons comes up with.  But with Belle she hit a new level of awesome.  I can’t say which part of this is my favorite, but let’s start with that bra!  I love how the lace exposes glimpses of flesh here and there, and the pattern is definitely eye-catching.  It immediately draws the eye and my guess is that the fingers wouldn’t be far behind.

The satin corset cincher is gorgeous and accentuates all of the right curves.  The lace panties are the perfect compliment to the rest of the set.  I just don’t know if it gets any sexier than this. 

Because Belle makes my dark side want to come out and play, I had to move to a more appropriate place for photos, underground at  Le Cimetiere.  All I can think about when I look at this lingerie are collars, restraints, and other pleasures found on the dark side.  However, Belle is certainly versatile enough to fit any look or mood, especially with the added versatility of color mix and matching.  I’ve combined the red and black sets here.  You can wear it as just a bra and panty set, or even just the cincher and panties if you want to be a little more risqué.  I love this bra too much not to wear it, though.

Belle by Blacklace comes with the gorgeous fishnet stockings, garters, and satin gloves that you see here as well; everything you need to complete your look no matter which direction you take it.    Be sure to visit them and pick up this stunning set.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this top five list as much as I’ve enjoyed posting it.  I’m sure there will be one next year too since my love of lingerie knows no bounds.  Happy New Year everyone!
