Kullalla on tapana ostaa kauniisti pakattuja asioita. Olenkin sanonut, että hänelle voisi helposti myydä mitä vain, kunhan on kääräisty tyylikkäisiin kuoriin. Ulkonäön perusteella meille on ostettu mm. käsisaippuaa, hammastahnaa ja nyt viimeisimpänä näkkileipää. Hyvää oli kun tänään ensi kertaa nakersin.

Eipä mulla mitään tuota vastaan ole, ostakoon. Pienet, kauniit asiat tuovat iloa päiviin. Niin kuin esim. Typy, hih.

Ehkä olen nyt myös henkisesti paremmin valmistautunut kaivamaan ruotsin kielen syvältä aivojeni sopukoista. Tänään itse asiassa jo vähän kaivelinkin ja juttelin Typylle tuolla kauniilla kielellä. Lauantaina meille tulee nimittäin sukulaisvieraita lännestä.

Huomenna Kullan kanssa leffaan, Typy pääsee siksi aikaa mummin luokse naureskelemaan.

Muutama viikko sitten piristyivät sekä Typyn huone että työhuone uudella tapetilla. Tapetointihommissa emme suinkaan olleet me, vaan kylppäriremontin tehneet pojat. Typyn huoneesta tuli ihanan kodikas kun seinien valkoisen korvasi tummempi väri. Varmaan vietämme siellä monta mukavaa ja rauhoittavaa hetkeä, kunhan elämä tasoittuu.

Vaikka seinät eivät saaneet kaverikseen mitään aiemmin kyttäämistani tapeteista, siivekkäiden lumo piti kuitenkin otteessaan. Molemmat tapetit ovat Pihlgren ja Ritolan mallistoa, suoraan 50-luvulta. Lastenhuoneen tapetiksi valikoitui Maaria Wirkkalan (Tapio Wirkkalan tytär) 4-vuotiaana taiteilema sinivihreä Enkeli. Tuo on mielestäni lastentapetiksi vallan kelvollisen näköinen. Epäilen kyllä, että saattaa muutaman vuoden kuluttua suorastaan innostaa piirtelemään seiniin. Täytyy sitten vain lykätä valkoinen kynä käteen Työhuonetta taas koristaa Birger Kaipiaisen Ken kiuruista kaunein.

India’s run on the U.S. dollar to buy 200 tonnes of gold from the 403.3 set to be sold by the International Monetary Fund set the precious metal to an all-time high value of $1,081+, meaning the  inflated dollar has crashed to an all-time low as the U.N. reports a drop in U.S. wages.

The International Monetary Fund quietly planned to sell 403.3 metric tons of its reserves. Immediately, New Delhi’s Reserve Bank took the opportunity to rid itself of U.S. dollars (USD) being recklessly and fraudulently printed and credited by the Federal Reserve to buy nearly half of the bullion. The USD firesale sent gold sales to record high value of over $1,081.

“Gold prices on Tuesday surged to an all-time high after India’s central bank bought 200 tonnes of the precious metal, swapping dollars for bullion as the country’s finance minister warned the economies of the U.S. and Europe had ‘collapsed’,”Javier Blas and James Lamont report at the Financial Times (FT). India sold off $6.7bn of its U.S. dollar reserves for 8% of global mine production, sending the “strongest signal yet that Asian countries were moving away from the U.S. currency”, they add.

“The move was replicated on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, which saw December gold peak at $1,081.70/oz.,” The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports.

The move comes months after China announced that as it was heavily increasing its holdings in toxic U.S. currency, it had increased its gold reserves by nearly 60% over the last six years.

At the recent G-20 Pittsburgh Summit, Western ‘leaders’ pushed for Eastern developing powers to invest in toxic Washington, D.C.-based I.M.F. Special Drawing Rights (SDR’s) which artificially props up Trilateral currencies—the USD, euro, yen and pound—while trapping these countries under a ceiling and further plundering the Third World.

Sha Zukang, undersecretary-general at the U.N. for economic and social affairs, recently called for SDR’s as a “global reserve currency” to move away from dollar hegemony.

“An I.M.F. official said the sale was concluded at an average price of about $1,045 an ounce and that the transaction would be paid in hard currency and not in [SDR's],” Surojit Gupta and Lesley Wroughton report at Reuters. The move comes months after China announced that as it was heavily increasing its holdings in toxic U.S. currency, it had increased its gold reserves by nearly 60% over the last six years.

“The proportion of gold as part of its total foreign reserves has fallen from over 20% in 1994 to just under 4%,” Reuters adds—as paper money issued in “good faith” and credit guarantees by central banks have flooded the marketplace to the financial oligarchs on the backs of the global plantation. “The market’s focus has now shifted to China, which has reportedly been in talks with the I.M.F. about buying some of the fund’s bullion as Beijing seeks to shift some of its more than $2tn in foreign exchange reserves away from the U.S. dollar.”

“Gold is up 23% this year while the U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the greenback’s performance against six major currencies, has dropped 6.1%,” Pham-Duy Nguyen and Claudia Carpenter report at Bloomberg. “The previous record for bullion traded in New York was $1,072, set on Oct. 14.”

“Traders and mining executives tipped China, Saudi Arabia and Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds as candidates to snap up the rest of the gold the IMF plans to sell,” the FT reports.

India and China have formed an economic alliance with Brazil and Russia to begin dumping U.S. monopoly money from their reserves toward hard reserves like gold. The USD’s saving grace, Middle East oil, is wearing thin as Middle East members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries are conspiring with Japan and other countries to abandon the U.S. dollar. Iran has completely abandoned the dollar from the its reserves. Nine Latin American powers have approved a document to replace the dollar with a new intra-regional currency. Japan has neither the financial nor the political capital to further enable the losing proposition of the U.S. warfare-welfare State.

“President Barack Obama has increased the nation’s marketable debt to an unprecedented $7tn as the government borrows to fund spending programs intended to revive economic growth,” Bloomberg adds. “The Federal Reserve, which began a meeting on monetary policy today in Washington, has kept the benchmark U.S. interest rate between zero and 0.25% since December.”

As I noted in an article demanding the abolition of the Fed: “In his 1994 book, The Case Against the Fed, Prof. Rothbard proves ‘the very purpose of its existence [is] to cartelize the private commercial banks, and to help them inflate money and credit together, pumping in reserves to the banks, and bailing them out if they get into trouble’.”

With the U.S. Congress recently passing a military spending bill for $680bn that doesn’t exist and a ‘healthcare reform’ bill on the horizon costing, according to the WSJ, $1.055tn over ten years—which social democrat Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) recently called “a bailout for insurance companies“—central banks of productive nation-states are hedging against inflation over crediting the worthless U.S.

The Federal Reserve has inflated the currency through bailouts and crediting Wall Street for an undisclosed amount up to hundreds of trillions of dollars which also doesn’t exist—up to over 200 times the U.S. monetary base, the real costs of which will be forced upon the global plantation.

Today, the U.N. International Labour Organisation (I.L.O.) global wages report [.pdf] found growth in real wages slowed from 4.3% in 2007 to 1.4% in 2008 and projects “suggest an even bleaker picture” for 2009, Frances Williams reports at the FT. “In the U.S. each 1% increase in nominal wages (ignoring inflation) generated $60bn in additional household income, said Patrick Belser, an I.L.O. economist. Instead, nominal U.S. wages had fallen 2% so far this year after a steady decline in 2008.”

Jos vauvat ovat oikeasti tuollaisia, mitä Typy on ollut tänään, mä tykkään. Vaan normaalistihan hän on kaiken aikaa itkuinen (ellei nuku tai syö) eikä viihdy hetkeäkään omissa oloissaan. Vain sylissä pystyasennossa on hetken hiljaa. Ehkä. Ja oikeastihan vauvat saattaa olla ihan jees ellei niitä jatkuvasti satu. Mennyt viikonloppu oli suorastaan tuskainen ja ihan perseestä.

Väsymys pehmentää pään. Ehkä metallijätteeseen printterin lykännyt tyyppi on tuore äiti hänkin. Vai millä tuon selittäisi. Kun keräyspisteelle on kuitenkin erikseen mentävä, miksi kukaan tuollaista kiusallaan tekisi.

Koska muilla lentävät ajatukset itseä viuhemmin, linkkaan pariin mielenkiintoiseen kirjoitukseen – ja erityisesti niiden kommenttiosioihin:

1. Project Mamassa pohditaan hankkiako vai ei. Sitä toista lasta.
2. Kemikaalicocktailissa mielipiteitä suuntaan jos toiseen H1N1-rokotteesta.

Aamu alkaa heräämällä. Miten heräät? Jos haluat herätä positiiviseen iloiseen päivään, katso että se mitä aamulla näet ensimmäiseksi saa sinut iloiseksi ja onnelliseksi, eikä stressaantuneeksi ja kärttyiseksi.  Hieno kaunis kuva  seinällä voi piristää aamua, hyväntuoksuiset kukat pöydällä, ihana aamiainen, jonka voi syödä kiireettä (herää siis ajoissa) tai vaikka hyväntuoksuinen suihkusaippua.

Jos musiikki on sinun juttusi, laita jo aamulla soimaan mielimusiikkiasi tai lempibiisisi.

Värit tuovat myös iloa elämään. Jos elämä on harmaata ja mustaa, katso näkyykö näitä värejä paljon ympärilläsi. Mitä jos vaihtaisi väriä punaiseen, iloiseen pinkkiin tai oranssiin. Mikäli työpaikkasi pukukoodi ei salli väri-iloittelua niin ainakin alusvaatteet saavat olla iloisen väriset.  Ainoa hankaluus on jos työpukusi on kokovalkoinen, ne näkyvät läpi. No,  ainakin vapaa-ajalla saa pukeutua vapaasti.

Valitse tietokoneesi salasanaksi jotain iloista ja hupaisaa. Se saa sinut hyvälle mielelle aina kun avaat tietokoneen.

Valitse myös sanasi positiivisesti kun puhut muille ihmisille.  Kun sinulta kysytään jotain älä vähättele tai käytä kieltosanoja turhaan.  Hyvä! on parempi kuin Ei hassumpi!

Kun päivä on pulkassa ja on aika käydä nukkumaan. Etsi elämästäsi kolme asiaa, joista on syytä olla kiitollinen. Ne voivat olla aluksi ihan pieniäkin asioita kuten “on katto pään päällä, peitto vuoteessa ja vuode.” Kun totut ajatukseen löydät paljon syitä olla kiitollinen.

Everyone remembers Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, wearing her sharp suit, trading sneakers for high heels as she enters her office, struggling to reach the top in the corporate jungle.

With her determination to defend her idea and her position, she became the symbol of women, women that dared to venture in the male-dominated area of the workplace, and even fight back when attacked by abusive bosses.

Oh, how bad we all wanted to become high-powered women, women passionate about their work, who are not belittled, whose ideas are take into account. Women paid as much as men, and who do not have fits pf panic if they get pregnant, for fear of being fired or “replaced”.

I guess my generation grew up being spoilt by all the statements we heard while growing. All this Spice Girls thing and Girl Power could not be good for us. It mislead us into thinking that women, and what’s more, young women, were the newly appointed darlings of the workplace, and that the only thing we had to do was to study and work hard to be able to be competitive on the work market and be hired and promoted based on our merits.

Allow me here to quote one of my favourite author, Irish author Marian Keyes, when speaking on the subject of feminism and women in the workplace:

“It took a mortifyingly long time for it to dawn on me that actually all the hard work had not been done, and that now everyone was not lovely and equal. Not even slightly. It happened one afternoon when I was fighting through a throng of grey suits in the business-class section of a plane. Suddenly I wondered: where are all the women in their red lipstick and sheer tights? Nowhere to be seen. (Because they were stuck in the office, providing secretarial back up, drinking cup-a-soup, painting the run in their sheer tights with nail varnish because they couldn’t afford to buy new ones.”

The message Keyes conveys with such wit and humour is that no, sadly, women are still not equal in the workplace to their male counterparts. According to the observer of the Organisation for the Economical Cooperation and Development, inequalities happen both in terms of salary ranges, but also in terms of opportunities of work. This means that, all other things being equal (experience, studies etc), a male will still earn more than a female worker. This also means that some work fields are completely male-oriented, with no or little room made for women. Women, however much qualified, seem to still be confined to certain areas, with little perspective of crossing bridges.

In its publication Global Employment Trends for Women, the International Labour Organisation looks at the impact of the economic and financial crisis on the situation of women with regards to access to jobs and gender inequalities. The study explains the difference in wages between men and women by the overcrowding of women in low paying industries, differences in skills and competences, but also, discrimination. The study also emphasizes the unemployment gender gap, with women enduring a higher unemployment rate than men, and having more difficulties to access the work market. The female adult employment-to-population rate is the lowest (below 30%) in the Middle East North Africa region, even though it is worth mentioning that it has been increasing over the last 10 years or so. Women are also more prone to having vulnerable employment, meaning low-wage employment, with no job security or guarantees of any kind.

An important thing to keep in mind is that this is a global trend: from the overqualified underpaid secretary in France, to the vulnerable agricultural worker in Africa, to the underpaid female worker in the Bangladesh, women from all over the world have to face discrimination.

For decades, men have come up with excuses not to promote or even let women have access to jobs they’d like: women are less competitive than men, they prompt the company the lose money because of their pregnancies, they’re less qualified, they’re more likely to quit because of family life, their place is at home anyway, etc etc…Nothing new under the sun, discrimination rears its ugly head beneath the most distinguished excuses and pretext.

Men executives should start looking at the reality: studies have shown that girls do better at school than boys, women are more resilient, more patient, have better communications skills than men and are used to multitasking (what with juggling with babies, partners, friends, family, housework and work). They are as competitive and as much of assets to the workplace than men, and they deserve to be paid as much, simply because the principle of non-discrimination is enshrined in both international and national laws.

If only women were let in more often.

But it is not our job as women to wait for people to come and save us. Our fate belongs to us. We have to speak up to force government to vote for gender friendly working laws, to give job security to women who still want to have children while working (May I remind male readers that we’re just keeping our species alive by doing so?) and most important of all, to change mentalities towards women in the workplace.

Advocacy is a weapon we should dare to use for ourselves, if we’re to change anything to our situation.

Pääsin viidennelle penkkiriville ja sitten vaan nautin. Miten joku voi laulaa virsiä niin kauniisti. Sitten se tuli, minun lempivirsi, Kosketa minua, Henki… ja se virsi kosketti. Kyyneleet vaan valuivat. Sitä on vaikea käsittää, miksi joku vaan on niin kaunista.

Kaikki virret olivat kauniita, mutta aina nousee joku muu yli kylän. Tuo edellinen oli juuri se, mutta myöskin tämä.

Oli uskovainen tai ei, niin kyllä tässä on sanat paikallaan. Minua ainakin koskettaa!

Kun särkee päätä, niin ei  ilkee kellee kertoa! Torstaina ja perjantaina nukuin ihan kelvottoman huonosti, koska kumpanakin yönä heräsin aamuyöstä ihan kamalaan jumputukseen, kun pääparkani tuntui siltä, kuin siellä olisi ollut pajavasara. Otin lääkettä äkkiä, että tokenen töihin. Silti, en kertonut töissä kenellekkään. Miksi, niin en vaan tiedä.

Eilen illalla jo oikein pelkäsin, uskallanko mennä nukkumaan. Menin, kun olin niin lopen uupunut. Nukahdin nopeasti ja heräsin aamulla, ennen kellon soittoa, ja WAU!!! Jippii, ei koskenu päätä. Olin siis niin iloinen, että luulin halkeavani. Tiskasin astiat sillä energialla ja ajattelin, miten kannattaa välillä koskea päätä, sillä sitten kun ei koske, niin onpa vaan eri mukavaa

New Delhi (Mizzima) – The International Labor Organization’s (ILO)’s Governing Body on Thursday said Burma’s ruling military junta has failed to implement recommendations made by the Commission of Inquiry in eliminating the use of forced labour.

The Governing Body’s decision was made on the information presented by the ILO’s Liaison Officer, and the statement made by the Permanent Representative of the Government of the Union of Myanmar (Burma).

The decision notes that Burma has so far failed to fully comply with the Forced Labour Convention, No. 29 (1930), the implementation of recommendations made by the Commission of Inquiry and the complete elimination of the use of forced labour in the country.

The decision recalls past conclusions and urges the Burmese authorities to issue a statement against the continued use of forced labour and the need to respect freedom of association.

The Governing Body also urges the Burmese government to allow cases of forced labour to be reported and to consistently follow-up so that the practices cease and the perpetrators are prosecuted and punished.

“Particular attention should be paid to monitoring infrastructure projects such as oil and gas pipelines,” the resolution said. The ILO and Burma in February 2009 extended the Supplementary Understanding that provides a mechanism for Burmese citizens to lodge complaints of forced labour through the ILO Liaison Officer in Rangoon.

The agreement retains the provision that ensures freedom from harassment and retribution for complainants and other persons, who support the operation of the complaints mechanism.

Despite the agreement between the ILO and the Burmese government, Human Rights activists said forced labour persistently continued to be practiced in the country.

The Governing Body on Thursday also called for “the immediate release of all persons currently detained, who are complainants, facilitators and others associated with the Supplementary Understanding complaints mechanism, as well as for the unconditional release of all imprisoned political and labour activists.”

Pienel miehel oli tänään oikomishammaslääkärin tarkastus. Lähdin mukaan, koska pien mies on armoton jännittäjä. Kun hain hänet koululta, selvisi, että hampaat ovat pesemättä, vaikka nimenomaan aamulla siitä muistutin. Kaiken lisäksi poika ei edes muistanut, millo viimeeksi oli hampaansa pessyt??? Auts!

Menimme sisään ja vastaanottoavustaja tuli vastaan. Hymyilin kauniisti ja kerroin hänelle ongelman ja pyysin hammasharjaa(kai joka paikassa on sellainen lainaharja…). Hän hymyili yhtä ystävällisesti vastaan ilmoittaen samalla, ettei valittavasti voi auttaa. No, nilkki mikä nilkki, hänen kanssaan on aina ollut vaikea tulla juttuun. Istahdimme penkille ja passitin pojan tekemään kaikkensa veden, sormien ja paperin kanssa. Kunnes, eräs ihana hammashoitaja tuli ovesta. Siis hän on sellainen aurinko, joka on KAIKILLE kiva! Kerroin hänelle, että mahtaisko millään… Juu, toki ja samantien haki pojalle harjan Et sillee!

Kun poika pääsi lavitsalle ja oli tutkittu, ehdotin hammaslääkärille seuraavaa:

- Et millään viittis tsekata tota miun takahammasta? Ku sitä viime viikol paikattiin ja sillo se oli hyvä, mut nyt se hiertää.

- Juu, toki! Hyppää vaan lavitsalle, niin katotaan.

Homma oli helppo ja nopeasti hoidettu. Hammasta hiukan hiottiin ja ai, ku helpotti. Kiitin vuolaasti ja pyysin sitten laskua. Ei laskua, joten kiitin vieläkin vuolaammin.

Niin, että on se vaan eri mukavaa käydä hammaslääkärissä

เนื่องด้วยในเวลานี้อาจารย์ทำหน้าที่รับผิดชอบหลักสูตรอบรมเรื่อง Occupational Health and Safety Management ซึ่งจัดโดยเฉพาะสำหรับเจ้าหน้าที่จากประเทศภูฏาน จำนวน 1 คน เป็นระยะเวลา 2 สัปดาห์ นักศึกษาคนนี้ของอาจารย์ชื่อ คุณกาละมา วังดี เป็นชายหนุ่ม จากเทือกเขาสูง อาจารย์อยากบอกความจริงบางอย่างว่า อยากให้นักศึกษาทั้งหลายมาร่วมเรียนด้วย เพราะอยากให้มาดู มาฟัง การเรียนการสอนแบบนี้ นักศึกษาคนนี้ของอาจารย์ แกไม่เคยนั่งหลับเลย และแกสนใจซักถามตลอดเวลา และคำถามแต่ละคำถามของแก ล้วนแล้วแต่มาจากการบูรณาการความเข้าใจ และพร้อมจะนำไปปฏิบัติได้ทุกขณะ ภูมิใจและเห่อลูกศิษย์คนนี้มาก วันนี้อาจารย์และลูกศิษย์ก็พากันเดินทางไปสำนักงานแรงงานระหว่างประเทศ หรือ ILO เพื่อไปศึกษากิจกรรมต่างๆของ ILO ในเอเชีย ต้องขอบคุณ ดร.คาวาคามิ และ ดร.ไค ซึ่งอธิบายเรื่องราวและแจกหนังสือเอกสารมาเยอะแยะมากมาย รับรองว่า นักศึกษาคนนี้ได้นำไปใช้ประโยชน์อย่างแน่นอน อาจารย์แอบเห็นคุณกาละมา แกนั่งเปิด นั่งดูเอกสารของดร.ทั้งสอง จนแทกซี่นำพาเราทั้งสองถึงคณะเลยทีเดียว ภูมิใจอีกแล้ว

กลับมาเรื่องตามหัวข้อเรื่องก่อนค่ะ เนื่องจาก เราคุยกันเกี่ยวกับกลไกการผลักดันงานด้านอาชีวอนามัยและความปลอดภัยในประเทศไทย แล้วก็อ้างกันถึงกฏหมายหลายฉบับ คุณกาละมา นั้น กำลังจะทำหน้าที่เป็นเจ้าหน้าที่ความปลอดภัยในการทำงานคนแรกของประเทศภูฎาน คุณกาละมาก็เลยขอให้อาจารย์สรา ทำการรวบรวมกฏหมายด้านนี้ฉบับภาษาอังกฤษให้ อาจารย์ก็ต้องอ่าน ไปด้วยพร้อมกับรวบรวม ไม่ทำการคัดลอกและวางหรอกค่ะ รับรอง อยากเรียนรู้ด้วย จึงได้พบว่า จริงๆแล้ว คำว่า Safety Officer นั้น จริงๆ เป็นคำย่อมาจาก Occupational Safety Officer คำนี้เป็นคำที่ใช้ตามกฏหมาย ในฉบับภาษาอังกฤษค่ะ เรื่องบางเรื่องเราทำกันจนเคยชินแล้วก็หลงคิดไปว่าเออ หนอ ใช่หนอ ถูกต้องหนอ เช่น ทำไปเถอะ ใช้ไปเถอะ เพราะคนอื่นเขาก็ใช้กัน แต่หลงลืมไปว่า มันไม่ถูกต้องเลย ไปทำตามสิ่งที่ไม่ถูกไม่ต้อง อยู่ได้ ตั้งนานแสนนาน ไม่สายค่ะ ตอนนี้ทราบแล้ว ครั้งหน้าใช้ให้ถูกต้องกัน นะค่ะ อาจารย์ก็จะใช้ให้ถูกต้องเช่นเดียวกัน เรียกหาตัวช่วย S.O.S ต้องเรียกหา OSO Occupational Safety Officer ทันที อาจารย์ก็ทำเช่นนั้นทุกครั้งค่ะ นึกอะไรไม่ออก ก็บอกเซฟตี้ได้ค่ะ

อีกนิดเถอะนะค่ะ ตอนนี้ดีใจมากที่ภาควิชาอาชีวอนามัยและความปลอดภัย แห่งมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้มีโอกาสร่วมสร้างอาชีวอนามัยในประเทศภูฏานค่ะ

This conference, organised around the 2nd anniversary of the initial ECJ decisions, aims to bring workers together with sympathetic academics and lawyers to share information, learn from each others’ experiences and plan for a better future.

So how should unions and their members respond? What are the political, legal and industrial options open to unions and their members? Unions are pushing politically for changes to EU and UK laws. Lawyers are looking at ways to challenge the direction of the ECJ through the ILO and the European Court of Human Rights. But can workers wait? Examples of workers ignoring restrictive laws and fighting back in defence of pay and jobs are already spreading – and winning.

I could be one of them, queueing up – a long one that goes around the Carlton’s parking and then along the fence just near the road – for about 2 hours under a burning sun before entering the fresh hall of Carlton, filling out job application forms, going through eveluation tests, paying attention to advices given to me, attending conferences. And in some cases going out there with a simple hope of a call from a responsible of recruitment we met or talked with.

The “Salon des métiers” (Job Show), as I’m writing this post the show has drawn a lot of people. The newly 20,000 unemployed [fr] due to the crisis thiken those who were already looking for a job. This 2 day event was organized by the International Labour Organisation in order to help unemployed Malagasy people to find a job. When I was there, I saw young people, I guess they’ve just finished their studies and are ready to enter the world of work. Some are fresh from highschool and want to know what study to do to find a job that will allow them to convenably fulfill the basic needs of their family in the future. I could see older people as well.

In there, I saw the ILO’s poster with the motto “Promoting decent work for all” and I’m asking if the “decent” still counts among the ones in crucial need of  a job. The ones who are ready to take any work that passes under their nose because they have not paid their bills for 3 months and running into debts. I’m also thinking of what happened to my friend Ariniaina few days ago, the insecurity that reigns in Tana and in the suburbs, the impunity of the burglars in the day light. Anything is good as long as you can get money out of it. The meaning of “decent” or “respectful” has no more sens. “the end justifies the means” took its place.

No EI minusta.

Vaan miten ärsyttää, kun joutuu kuuntelee ku joillekin ei vaan sovi, mikään.  Aina pitää valittaa. Minusta oli siis niin ihanaa kun talvi tuli! Aamusta kävelin ens alkuu hammaslääkäriin ja yhtään ei harmittanut, että lunta satoi. Ei kyl sekään, että oli hammaslääkäri.

Oli niin raikasta, puhdasta ja valoisaa. Oli ihan hilkulla, etten jäänyt tekee lumienkeleitä

Päivällä lähdin uudestaan ulos, koska minulla oli asioita kaupungilla. Olin niin hyvällä tuulella, että menin kahville. Istahdin ikkunapöytään rahkapiirakan ja kahvin kera ja aloin syventyä Hesariin. Joka pöydässä oli ihmisiä. Tuli vanhempi mies, seisoi kahvikupposen kanssa siinä eikä oikein tiennyt, mihin mennä. Sanoin oitis, että tässä on kyllä tilaa. Ilahtuneena mies istahti pöytään ja kotvasen kuluttua rohkeni kysyä, saisiko Hesarista puolet. Toki. Olin erittäin iloinen. Minä olen aina niin täpinöissäni, kun ihan tuntematon ihminen uskaltaa puhua! Siinä me sitten yhdessä luettiin lehteä

Kuka minä olen?

Kristityn identiteetissä on kysymys siitä, kuka ihminen on, uudestisyntymiskokemuksen jälkeen. Oikea puku mutta väärä mies on yhtä huono yhdistelmä kuin oikea mies väärän puvun kanssa. Identiteetti kokemuksen tulee kohdata sana siten, ettei niiden välille synny riitasointua. Harmoniassa, jossa sana ja kokemus todistavat yhtä ja samaa, löytyy lepo ja rauha.

Mitä Raamattu sitten tarkkaan ottaen opettaa kristityn oikeasta identiteetistä? Ensinnäkin identiteettimme perusta on Jeesuksen Kristuksen täydellisessä Golgatan uhrissa. Hän on lunastanut meidät omikseen antamalla henkensä lunastushinnaksi meistä. Me kuulumme hänelle. Uskoessamme Jeesukseen Kristukseen olemme saaneet syntimme anteeksi ja syntyneet uudesti ylhäältä. Uudestisyntymän yhteydessä on tapahtunut ihme,  syntisestä kuolevaisesta tuli taivaskelpoinen iankaikkisuusolento. Meidät on siirretty pimeydestä valoon ja kuolemasta elämään. Kristukseen kätkettyinä olemme tulleet osallisiksi hänen vanhurskaudestaan, hengestään ja jo kuoleman vallan voittaneesta iankaikkisuuselämästään.

Olemme siis vanhurskaita ja sellaisina Jumalalle rakkaita. Jumala on lahjoittanut meille poikansa, vanhurskaudeksi, lunastukseksi, pyhitykseksi ja viisaudeksi. Kaikki edellä mainittu on meille lahjaa, joka tulee meille Jeesuksen Kristuksen tuntemisen kautta.

Me olemme pyhiä. Pyhyys tarkoittaa sitä, että me olemme erotetut Jumalan yksinomaiseen käyttöön. Me emme kuulu enää tähän maailmaan, vaikka olemmekin tässä maailmassa. Siksi meidän sydämemme ympärileikataan kun tulemme ulos erämaastamme luvatun maan puolelle. Sydämen ympärileikkaus tarkoittaa sitä, että meidän sydämemme irrotetaan rakastamasta maailmaa, jotta me voisimme rakastaa ehyellä sydämellä taivaallista isäämme.

Me elämme identiteetin muutoksessa. Me muutumme kirkkaudesta kirkkauteen. Me muutumme katsomalla Jeesusta Kristusta. Katsomalla, ei vilkuilemalla. Sana kehottaa kiinnittämään katse uskomme alkajaan ja sen täydelliseksi tekijään. Siinä, kasvotusten Herramme kanssa, Pyhä Henki muuttaa meitä huomaamattamme. Jeesus tulee rakkaaksi ja synti vastenmieliseksi. Me ymmärrämme, että se on Jumalan rakkaus, joka vetää meitä parannukseen ja armo, joka kasvattaa meitä hylkäämään synnin. Eläessämme lähellä Jeesusta, vaeltaen valkeudessa, saamme nauttia jatkuvaa syntien anteeksiantamisen armoa, joka tuo rauhan ja levon silloinkin, kun kiusaaja käy ympäri ja jalka sattuu tienoheiseen rapalätäkköön. Me olemme muuttumassa. Me muutumme siihen hetkeen asti, kunnes taivas avautuu ja me saamme nähdä Jeesuksen sellaisena kuin hän on. Silloin tulemme ymmärtämään, että olemme taivaallista kansaa ja Kristuksen kanssaperillisiä Hänen ollessa esikoinen suuressa veljesjoukossa. Me olemme Jumalan prinssejä ja prinsessoja ja muutumme Jeesuksen kaltaisuuteen, Hänen tulemisensa päivänä.

Lue sanaa ja kiinnitä huomiosi kaikkeen siihen uskomattoman upeaan, mitä sana kertoo juuri sinusta ja minusta. Kiinnitä huomiosi Jumalan lupauksiin ja Hänen rakkauden osoituksiinsa ja huomaat, että ilo tulee ilman määrää, luonnostaan kiitoksen kanssa, elämäsi keskeiseksi sisällöksi jo täällä ajassa.  Ja on aika tanssia, riemusta.
