Einleitung

Jeder kennt diese Situation. Das Betriebssystem kommt mit schicken Icons für Ordner, Programme uns sonstige Einstellungen daher. Für bestimmte Ordner, bspw. den Programmordner, gibt es dann unter Mac OSX, ich benutze Leopard, besondere Symbole.

Jetzt möchte man für bestimmte Ordner eigene Symbole haben, sagen wir mal für Vereins- oder Organisations-Logo. Doch wie funktioniert das? Per Drag&Drop so richtig wie bei Mac üblich nur, wenn man das Icon vorher erzeugt hat. Doch wie erzeuge ich ein Icon?

Icon suchen

Als erstes braucht man das Icon, welches modifiziert werden soll, oder eines das als Grundlage dient. Die Ordner-Symbole findet man in Leopard unter dem Pfad “System/Library/CoreServices/“. Aus dem Kontextmenü die Option “Paketinhalt zeigen” wählen und dann in den Unterordner “Resources” wechseln. Hier die Datei “GenericFolderIcon” bspw. auf den Schreibtisch kopieren und gegebenenfalls die Benutzerrechte anpassen.

Logo bereitstellen

Als nächstes muss das Logo mit der Bildbearbeitung der Wahl bereitgestellt werden. Das Logo extrahieren und als PNG oder TIFF mit transparentem Hintergrund speichern. Anschließend mit ImageWell öffnen und in die Zwischenablage kopieren.

Icon öffnen

Icon ebenfalls mit ImageWell öffnen und das Bild aus der Zwischenablage einfügen. Jetzt Größe anpassen, positionieren und das Bild als TIFF-Datei speichern.

Icon erstellen

Im vorletzten Schritt muss jetzt noch das Icon erstellt werden. Dies funktioniert dank FastIcns und seinem rotierenden Würfel sehr elegant. Mit einem Doppelklick auf den Würfel, kann man dann das neue Icon als Resourcen-Datei für einen Ordner speichern.

Icon zuweisen

Ordner suchen, dem das neue Icon zugewiesen werden soll. Apfel+i drücken. Das gleiche für die eben erstelle Resourcen-Datei machen. Jetzt auf das kleine Icon der Resourcen-Datei links oben klicken (wird blau hervorgehoben), Apfel+C drücken, dann das Icon des Ordners klicken, und wie sollte es anders sein, Apfel+V drücken. Das wars.

Mehrere Versuche das Icon mit Gimp zu erstellen, waren nicht wirklich erfolgreich.
