What’s for dinner tonight? Well, it’s fall, so I’ve been getting lots of vegetables from teachers who have big gardens or small farms. I got some sweet potatoes last week, so I thought we should have daigaku imo with dinner (along with a grilled hokke, rice, and salad).

While the recipe on Just Hungry looks delicious, I can’t be bothered to deep fry at home, so I really liked the look of the recipe at Food Lover’s Guide to Tokyo. It was really easy- just chop up a large sweet potato, put it in a frying pan with the rest of the ingredients and cook it until the water’s gone and the sugar makes a nice syrup. Then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

It seems lately that the shipping industry has been under a lot more scrutiny lately with regards to their ethics, economics and their effects to the environment.. None should I say are good!

Christmas shopping has long since begun and toy stores around the world are stocking up with the latest action hero/plastic things. And they’ll all contain that familiar slogan “Made in China”.

Daily mail has recently reported that shipping of all these toys/textiles/computer hardware etc is doing more harm than good. Fred Pearce who wrote Confessions of an Eco-Sinner and who is also a writer for New Scientist has revealed that all that filthy black smoke that you see pumping out of the funnels of these big cargo ships is killing us and has been for some time. “16 of the world’s largest ships can produce as much lung-clogging sulphur pollution as all the world’s cars.”

The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) that world’s shipping allows these enormous cargo ships to use cheap, dirty fuel when making their journeys around China, Europe and the USA. This fuel is known as bunker fuel, which along with a shit tonne of CO2 can emit up to 5,000 tons of sulphur in a year and when absorbed deep into the lungs it causes breathing problems, lung disease and cancer. “A worldwide death toll of about 64,000 a year, of which 27,000 are in Europe. Britain is one of the worst-hit countries, with about 2,000 deaths from funnel fumes.”

The IMO are giving the shipping industry a lenghty 12 years to make the switch from bunker fuels to cleaner fuels with sulphur emissions under the 3.5% mark.

Coming up to the talks in Copenhagen, Airlines had stated that they will by cutting their emissions 50% by 2050, but these shipping companies have yet to declare any changes to help protect our environment and our lungs.

Greenwave, a British campaign for cleaner shipping wants to strip IMO of its powers. Low sulphur fuel and more efficient engines could cut carbon emissions from the shipping industries by 30%.

Increasingly the speed of communication technology at this time made PT Konten Indomedia make an effort to continue menggelontorkan sophisticated cellular phones. I rlly hate it when people are so competitive. With studies, games, or whatever. It gets me so so so frustrating. The end-result aint everything you know. Do yall realise that in the process of trying to be #1, you lose quite a few things which imo, are more important than the pride and fame from being the first?  Stuffs like your friendship with certain people and the joy in which you experience during the process when you help each other towards the goal, instead of the feeling of  jealousy,angst (and all the negative stuffs) when everyone is trying to outdo each other. Maybe people will say it’s healthy competition. Yupp, i would say it is healthy when everybody help each other along the way during this ‘competition’. But not when people starts saying stuffs which they dont rlly do/mean, when people starts lying/cheating, when people are actually plotting a way to climb their way to the top.

I mean like why are you doing all this? Yes, maybe your parents or whoever may be proud of you but during the process of you trying very hard to succeed, do you rlly feel happy/enjoyable? Do you rlly have any TRUE friends to share the joy with you? True, in this case, i mean rlly from the bottom of their heart. Not even a PINCH of jealousy/(in chinese) ke xi.

Well, at least i know quite a few of these true friends whom i rlly treasure ALOT (:
So, i dont rlly care if im the top or what. As long as i know i did my best, im happy during the process and when getting the results, i dont fucking care about  the positions at all.

LEARN TO SPEAK ENGLISH!

I have a few things to say about that kind of talk. For one, stop saying fml. It’s over used, and it’s used stupidly. I dropped my phone fml. I have to walk to the bus stop fml. I have an earache fml. My cat had fleas fml.
Just stop it. It’s ridiculous.
Your life isn’t fucked up because of these little things. It just means something didn’t go your way, or you’re lazy. If you’ve lost something or someone you love, you can’t deal with life or something like that, fair enough. Saying fuck my life would actually make sense then. But saying fml, it just pisses me off. Think about it before you write it.

Secondly, how hard is it to say ‘In my opinion’, ‘I can’t be fucked’ or ‘To be honest’? Really, it’s not difficult. I hate how people these days abbreviate everything.
I understand that some people do it jokingly, and that’s okay, but so many people constantly abbreviate everything, and it’s so stupid. It’s so lazy, plus you’re ruining the English language.
I hope you have to get examined on your English one day to get into something you want. You’ll probably fail.

Thirdly, I want to point out there is a difference between ‘you’re’ and ‘your’, and between ‘there’, ‘they’re’ and ‘their’. Don’t say ‘your cute’. That person doesn’t own cute.
Don’t say ‘is that you’re cat?’. Is that you are cat? Think about it.
They’re taking their dog for a walk over there.
There: Look over there. It means a place, a spot. It can also be used like ‘There are too many of these things’.
Their: Something that belongs to someone. It’s their property.
They’re: Short for they are. They’re going somewhere.

Fourthly, the word lol annoys me. Laugh out loud. Some people say ‘Hey lol’. Who walks up to someone and says ‘Hey laugh out loud’. They don’t.

Please, oh please, try to learn English. It’s the language your country uses.

IMO aja udah ngeluarin android phone.  Harga 3 juta kurang, sangat bersaing dari sisi harga dibandingkan punya HTC yang masih 5.3 juta.  Gile nih android bakalan jadi new hype di Indonesia, alasannya :

• orang akan berpindah zona kenyamanan, dari “always connected” ke “connected when needed”, pindah dari hiruk pikuk komunikasi ke kemapanan dan kenyamanan psikologis, kapan saatnya berkomunikasi baru tuh benda ajaib di on kan hehehe ….
• mainan baru, gengsi baru, karena mahal, dan hanya “orang tertentu yang diberkahi” yang terpilih untuk mainan android
• mahal karena salah satu requirementnya adalah “punya jaringan internet yg sangat mendukung, sementara janji janji unlimited yang dikeluarkan telkomsel, indosat dan xl, seperti kita ketahui sudah basi ) ”
• keren, karena bisa gonta ganti interface apapun dalam waktu amat sangat singkat (jadi satu devices bisa gonta ganti interface dan tampilan software dalam … katakan 15 menit), dari samsung atau LG bisa ke HTC magic, HTC hero, Motorola cliq, dll …. tapi kudu udah setting control sampai root, masak ROM, de el el, dan untuk bisa otak atik yang pusing pusing emang kudu orang yg hobby di situ (makanya hanya orang terpilih hehehe)

Being single, I meet a few guys now and then.. I chat with them a bit and sometimes hang out once or twice.. But rarely do I find one that I really like and plan to devote time and energy to.. Case in point, I met a guy in the summer time.. Cute guy.. Phone convos.. Keep in touch with him but have never seen him in person since we met.. He’s nice enough but nothing is popping off there..

.. I am sitting at home and I don’t have anything to do really.. My attention is focused every which-a-where.. My man attention is focused on nothing at all.. So of course when I meet someone that I have even a mild attraction to, it would be easy for me to focus all of my man attention towards him.. There is an issue with this though:

I don’t know him that well — the problem here is giving too much too soon.. In the beginning when you are still feeling each other out, going on dates and all giggly, it is easy to quickly give all your attention to someone.. Before you know anything about them..

Important things like, how he resolves issues or how he manages his feelings aren’t usually discovered in those first moments.. They occur with time..

Its all about moving slow..

I’ve found that one of the best ways to move slow is to have something/one else to focus your attention on..

Why date one guy at a time?! Dating is like basketball try-outs.. How will I (the coach) know if the players are any good if they’re playing one-on-none?! They need to have some competition in order for me to see how well they would fit on my team…

Dating is all about being open and seeing what’s out there.. Not about jumping into relationships – which is what generally happens when there is too much focus on one person too soon..

The other day I talked about mistaking lust and infatuation for love.. The same can occur with like..

Sometimes it’s only fascination and intrigue.. But it’s mistaken for like for so many reasons

1. Time — spending large amounts of time with one person will either push you together or rip you apart.. When it’s with a new person, it is tempting to jump into spending mass amounts of time with them.. Instead of moving slowly and figuring them out, you’re moving full steam ahead with minimal knowledge and experience

2. They like you – a lot of times, a person will confess their undying adoration for you before you are ready for it.. So you dive in head first in order to reciprocate their feelings.. Without thinking critically about what’s going on.. you make up for what you lack in feelings by rushing and forcing yourself to like them

3. “It seems like” – everything seems honky-dory.. He’s the type you want in life and you create a fantasy behind this image.. Youre blinded by a rosy picture of green meadows and skipping while holding hands.. The problem is, you like the idea more than the actual person.. don’t focus on what you perceive or hope this to be.. focus on taking your time to discover what it could be later on

Liking someone for who they are comes only with time.. it takes more than 2 weeks to figure out that Johnny is really a rude ass who puts up a good front.. Rushing in creates problems that are harder to resolve because you’ve given life, energy and time to something..

Take your time getting to know a person, meet other people, do things that don’t have anything to do with dating and have fun..

There seems to be pressure on so many of us to enter relationships, but screw that notion, only get into one if its what you want in your life.. Not what someone else wants..

There is nothing to be gained by settling

The other night, I was out with a new friend.. and he said “I believe you only get a couple of chances at love in a lifetime”.. wow

And I wondered.. is that true?!

I believe in the possibility of soul mates.. that there is one person who is created just for you to love and be loved by, and be with for as long as allowed.. but I don’t believe that you can only love that person..

It is in our nature to love others, we were created with emotions that dictate feelings of affection towards other people, some that are deeper than others.. it makes absolute sense that we could love or be in love with someone other than the intended soul mate..

True Love is an art form.. I learned this courtesy of Jesus.. it is unconditional.. it sounds so easy.. but it’s not.. true love means that you love someone NO MATTER what they ever have done or will ever do to or for you.. this love is not based on the person, but on love.. straight from the heart..

I imagine myself to have loved and been in love a time or 3.. until I discovered what true love is.. and then realized that I was infatuated, in lust, or plain crazy.. I may have been head over heels but I was not in love.. howeverI know deep down inside that I will meet my soul mate and truly be in love with him..

So there must be some kind of “accidental love forgiveness”.. there is no way that we could love more than one person if those deep feelings of whatever you believed to have been love weren’t able to be washed away..

I believe you’ll love a person forever, but God allows your heart, mind and soul to heal up enough to regain most of what you’d given away mistakenly so that you could give it to the person that it was meant for..

There is of course the factor that you may not have loved in the first place.. you would have still given away much of yourself to a person with the belief of love.. and again, that would need to be replenished..

So.. maybe we are allowed to replenish a couple of times..

Or a possibility that makes even more sense, we don’t truly love someone until we are with the one meant for us.. and all that other stuff is a case of mistaken love identity.. and practice..

The fact still remains that whether it is love, lust or infatuation.. you are still giving away pieces of yourself to someone who may not be deserving of it.. and I am not just talking sexually.. I am talking about mentally, spiritually, physically and financially..

To me, it is more important to discern whether or not you should be giving anything to the person you are with.. figuring out if this is the one, soul mate, future husband, etc. or if they will just be another notch in your love belt..

That is the hardest part.. because one may never know until it’s over.. my only advice is caution..

And to my new friend.. I must say 1. thank you for giving me something to think about deeper than what appetizer to order and 2. maybe you are right.. and even if you are not.. here’s to finding out..

I know that the young man may be hurting.. but it is very rare for a person in the public eye to be so public about his feelings.. even if they are conspicuously veiled attempts

So I was thinking.. what is going on here?!

And plain and simple.. I think that he is probably upset, hurt, regretful and a mess of other emotions about this breakup.. He has to play out this whole drama in the public and probably has no real space to release the emotions in private.. So he is baring his soul to the world via twitter.. I just hope that it’s real..

Breaking up with someone you love is hard no matter what the situation behind the break up.. I know that CB is still getting flack from hitting the terrorist (thank you Aaron) and people are holding that against him as if to say he is not entitled to his feelings.. but he is..

Just because he may be responsible for the outcome of this.. doesn’t mean that he will not suffer the consequences.. he has to deal with heartache from breaking up, dealing with anger problems, having hit a woman, reconciling himself and his career.. but because he is at fault he is not supposed to be upset!?

Imagine having to deal with this plethora of issues at such a young age.. being a celebrity and having money don’t make you exempt from being human.. if this is the best way for C. Brown to deal with his issues.. then I encourage him to do so.. that is the only way he will ever be able to move past it and make himself a better person..

now.. Necole Bitchie put a poll up asking if Rih and Chris should get back together!? I would have to vote no.. love does not a good relationship make..

I was once in a relationship that seemed to have been dipped and drenched in love.. but.. it was still a volatile and unhealthy relationship.. that love was not the pure, unconditional, true love that I want and need in my life.. we were enraptured in each other it seemed.. but life is not The Notebook and things went awry REAL fast.. my point is.. just because you love or are in love with a person doesn’t mean that you should be with them.. when the relationship ends (and it is probably for the best) you should take a step back, evaluate what you learned and move on the best way you know how.. (unless the best way you know how is by getting another, which I wouldn’t recommend)..

Any relationship that has a factor of any sort of abuse, unhappiness, etc. is not the one you should be in..

So, I vote NO..

By the by.. does anyone else notice that Chris seems happier and more into Rih than she is with him!? I read that before he was way more involved than she.. just wanted to point that out..

Also, I didn’t mention Rihanna’s dealing with this because 1. she is not publicly expressing herself and 2. I don’t really care for her enough to give her time on my blog.. girl bye
