<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The consequences of <a href="http://freemarketmojo.wordpress.com/2009/09/12/obama-imposes-new-protectionist-tariffs/" target="_blank">Obama&#8217;s 35 percent tariff on imported Chinese tires</a> are now starting to become apparent. An <a href="http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5iMtwhK9Zzm8YJtHuuN0BE6iflWZAD9C646BG0" target="_blank"><em>Associated Press </em>article</a> yesterday (via <a href="http://bizecon.wordpress.com/2009/11/25/tire-tariff-costs-u-s-1-35-billion-in-lost-savings/" target="_blank">Pushing Possibilities</a>) identified a few of the explicit and implicit consequences of the tariff.</p>
<p>Explicit costs include:</p>
<blockquote><p>Under the government’s new tariff, which went into effect in September, a set of Chinese tires that would have cost $280 now cost nearly $100 more.</p></blockquote>
<p>Implicit costs include:</p>
<blockquote><p>Jennifer Stockburger, a tire test engineer for Consumer Reports, says six of the top ten all-season tires recently tested by the magazine were made in China by major manufacturers.</p></blockquote>
<p>To calculate the true cost of the tariff, <a href="http://bizecon.wordpress.com/2009/11/25/tire-tariff-costs-u-s-1-35-billion-in-lost-savings/" target="_blank">Pushing Possibilities</a> conducted a cost-benefit analysis:</p>
<blockquote><p>17% of the tire market is made up of Chinese tires.  Tire sales for 2008 was around <a href="http://www.ibisworld.com/industry/retail.aspx?indid=1013&#38;chid=1">$27 billion</a>, which means that about $4.6 billion is Chinese tires. With an average price of $280 for Chinese tires pre-tariff, the total quantity of Chinese tires sold would amount to 16.4 million.  With a $100 price increase, assuming that domestic tire price increases offset the tariff increase, U.S. consumers are expected to lose out on a net savings of over $1.6 billion.  And that of course does not take into account the implicit cost of quality loss.</p>
<p>The tariff was expected to stop the loss of employment in the U.S. tire industry.  By assuming there would be a benefit of saving 5,000 jobs in the tire industry, even at the median U.S.  income, that only amounts to a very large estimate of over $250 million of saved income.</p>
<p>Therefore, Obama’s tire tariff cost the U.S. over <span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>$1.35 billion dollars</strong>.</span></p></blockquote>

<p>So back in September, Obama passed a bill making it illegal to sell &#8220;flavored cigarettes&#8221;. As a Djarum Black smoker (on occasion), this broke my heart. </p>

<p>I&#8217;ve read two different reasons for the ban &#8211; 1) flavored cigarettes encourage underage smoking, and 2) most flavored cigarettes aren&#8217;t made in the US, therefore all the US gets is sales tax from the sale.</p>
<p>Here are the Smoker&#8217;s Hack arguments:</p>
<p>1) When teens start smoking, they usually steal cigarettes from their parents. What parents smoke flavored cigarettes? (Besides gay goth parents)</p>
<p>2) Flavored cigarettes are EXPENSIVE! If teens are going to spend their money, it&#8217;s going to be on cheap cigarettes like Basics.</p>
<p>3) If the US doesn&#8217;t like the import of these cigarettes, then they need to step up and make a good product. I love supporting the US &#8211; so get on it. </p>
<p>BUT &#8211; get this &#8211; MENTHOLS aren&#8217;t banned. </p>
<p>Why not menthols? Last time I checked &#8211; MINT was a flavor. Kools and &#8216;Ports are cheaper than cloves, easier to get than cloves, and more influential people smoke menthols than cloves.</p>

<p>Microsoft is so rotten, I tried to export from Outlook, and it says I need some install disk with an add on,&#8230; so I went to my gmail, did an outlook compatible export, and the import was useless. BUT when I did a gmail VCARD export, that reads in just fine to Evolution.</p>
<p>Now, IF I found a machine with the proper Outlook Microsoft add-in, then I could synchronize my Blackberry to Outlook, and export to Ubuntu&#8217;s Evolution e-mail client.</p>

<p><strong>A parliamentary panel today suggested that <span style="color:#ff9900;">futures trading</span> should be banned in case of wheat, rice, sugar and some pulses till the country becomes self sufficient in these food items.</strong></p>

<p><strong>The <span style="color:#ff9900;">Estimates Committee</span> asked the government to bring a new legislation to <span style="text-decoration:underline;">control the retail prices of essential commodities like rice,wheat, pulses, edible oils, sugar, milk and vegetables</span>.</strong></p>

<p><strong>On futures trading, the report said: &#8220;Since food security of the country is at the stake, the Committee recommends that futures trading in wheat, rice, tur dal, urad dal and sugar should be banned till the country achieves self-sufficiency in the production of these items on a continuous basis&#8221;.</strong></p>

<h2><span style="color:#ff6600;">Spice exports decline 1.3% in April-October: </span></h2>
<p><strong>Exports of spices fell <span style="color:#ff9900;">1.3 per cent in volume</span> and <span style="color:#ff9900;">1.6 per cent in value</span> during the April-October period of the current financial year.</strong></p>
<p><strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong> According to the latest estimates of Spices Board, total exports in the period were <span style="color:#ff9900;">280,885 tonnes </span>valued at Rs 3,031.59 crore against 284,560 tonnes valued at 3,080.25 crore in the same period last year.</strong></p>

</strong></p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#ff9900;">Pepper exports </span>suffered a serious setback as the figures dropped to 11,500 tonnes valued at Rs 179.16 crore as against 14,750 tonnes valued at Rs 246. 70 crore in the same period last year.</strong></p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#ff9900;">Export of chilli </span>also declined to 100,500 tonnes valued at Rs 706.50 crore as against 121,500 tonnes valued at Rs 660.17 crore.</strong></p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#ff9900;"> Coriander exports</span> had a better performance at 25,250 tonnes valued at Rs 128.12 crore against 17,100 tonnes valued at Rs 116.80 crore.</strong></p>

<h2><span style="color:#ff6600;">Pulse prices rise up to 80 per cent in one year: </span></h2>
<p><strong>The government today said prices of pulses have surged by up to <span style="color:#ff9900;">80 per cent</span> in the national capital over the last one year.</strong></p>

<p><strong>While prices of tur have gone up by 80 per cent in the last one year to Rs 90 a kg, that of moong dal surged 74 per cent to Rs 82, according to the data presented by <span style="color:#ff9900;">Food and Agriculture Minister</span> Sharad Pawar in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.</strong></p>

</strong></p>
<p><strong>Even import of about 16 lakh tonnes of pulses between April and October has not eased pressure on the prices, the data showed.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Not just pulses, prices of sugar have almost doubled to Rs 38 a kg.</strong></p>

As a nation it is in its interests to force those who are so gainfully paid offshore to sell dollars and move into less liquid assets for as long as the US recovery is in doubt. Domestic demand, except for the largest business interests is nonexistent and will remain so as long as the lack of available credit maintains its stranglehold over medium to small businesses. It is the export of goods and <em>SERVICES </em>to the world, developed or otherwise, that the United States deems to be prima facie of most importance. For it is the measurement of future demand that will lay the ground work for <em>additional stimulus</em> measures applied to targeted sectors of the US economy that will lay the ground work for a sustainable recovery <em>with</em> job creation by small to medium sized companies deemed suitable to be large companies when the Venture Capital market sees suitable risk reward profiles emerge.  Be of no doubt there will be additional stimulus measures and your sleepless nights shall stay your cheery friend for at least the next 36 months.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Det er lykkedes for en lille gruppe embedsmænd i EU&#8217;s toldkommision at gennemføre en stramning af toldtarif 97.05, på en måde så det her efter stort set er umuligt at importere køretøjer fra lande uden for EU toldområde til den hidtige takst.</p>

<p>Stramningen af 97.05 er sket helt på embedsmandsniveau, altså uden indblanding fra folkevalgte politikere, med det formål at ensrette toldreglerne i alle medlemslandende.</p>
<p>Da den nye fortolkning af 97.05 er sket i blandt embedsmænd i kommisionen, er der ikke dukket noget op til overfladen hvor organisationer som f.eks. <a href="http://www.fiva.org/EN/index2.html" target="_blank">FIVA</a> har kunne nå at opsnappe at der blev arbejdet på noget der kunne have indflydelse på vores alle sammens hobby. Derfor har <a href="http://www.fiva.org/EN/index2.html" target="_blank">FIVA</a> ikke haft mulighed for at gøre indsigelser, og formuleringerne er ene og alene et resultat af kommisionens arbejde.</p>
<p>Et kig ned ad siden med den nye fortolkning afslører da også at dette makværk, er et embedsmandsværk uden nogen som helst realitetssans.</p>
<p><a href="http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:C:2009:272:FULL:DA:PDF" target="_blank">Således lyder de nye regler man skal opfylde for at få sit veterankøretøj ind til den sædvanlige toldsats.</a></p>
<blockquote><p><strong><em>Denne position omfatter motorkøretøjer, der er:</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>— i original stand og uden væsentlige ændringer ved chassis, styre- og bremsesystem, motor osv.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>— mere end 30 år gamle og</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>— af en model eller type, som ikke længere produceres.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Motorkøretøjer anses imidlertid for ikke at have historisk eller etnografisk værdi og er undtaget fra denne position, hvis de kompetente myndigheder fastslår, at motorkøretøjerne ikke illustrerer et væsentligt trin i menneskets udvikling eller ikke belyser en periode i denne udvikling.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Sådanne køretøjer skal også besidde de fornødne egenskaber for at kunne indgå i en samling og derfor:</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>— besidde en vis sjældenhedsværdi</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>— normalt ikke anvendes i overensstemmelse med deres oprindelige formål</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>— er genstand for en specialiseret handel, der finder sted uden for den normale afsætning af lignende brugbare genstande</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>— har en betydelig værdi.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Som samlerobjekter af historisk værdi betragtes også:</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>a) motorkøretøjer, der — uanset fremstillingsåret — bevisligt er blevet anvendt ved en historisk begivenhed</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em>b) væddeløbskøretøjer, der bevisligt er blevet tegnet, bygget og anvendt udelukkende til konkurrenceformål, og har opnået betydelige     resultater ved prestigefyldte nationale eller internationale motorvæddeløb.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Genstande af den art, der anvendes som dele eller tilbehør til nævnte motorkøretøjer, tariferes i denne position, hvis de i sig selv er samlerobjekter, uanset om de er bestemt til montering i de pågældende køretøjer.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Bevis herfor kan aflægges i form af behørig dokumentation, fx leksika eller fagbøger eller erklæringer fra anerkendte eksperter.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Ovenstående bemærkninger gælder med de fornødne tillempninger også for motorcykler.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong><em> </em></strong><strong><em>Undtaget fra positionen er efterligninger (kopier) af originalmodeller (almindeligvis kapitel 87)</em></strong></p></blockquote>
<p>I den tid jeg har haft plads ved dette tastatur med fast forbindelse til redaktionen på <a href="http://www.klassisk-bil.dk/" target="_blank">Klassisk Bil &#38; Mc</a>, der har jeg den ene gang efter den anden kastet mig over Skat og deres medarbejdere hver gang der har været lidt optræk til bare det mindste fra deres side. Jeg nævner i flæng : Modep-systemet (Fejl-fyldt sikkerhedsventil), Brændstofafgifter (En forglemmelse), partikelfiltre (Strafafgift på noget der ikke duer), Ladlåg på Chevrolet SSR (En kæmpe sag for Skat), Veteranbiler som kontrolgruppe (Vi ved ikke hvad vi leder efter, men vi skal nok finde det!) Ikke fordi at det har hjulpet noget, jeg er ikke jo ikke nogen Kåre Quist, men som en arrig lille terrier der hænger i buksebenet ,så skal jeg nok gøre hvad jeg kan!</p>
<p>Så det kom nok ikke som nogen overraskelse for Skats pressetjeneste, at de havde mig i telefonen mandag morgen, efter de havde sat hele veteranhobbybevægelsen i brand en fredag d. 20/11, hvor ovenstående blev offentliggjort på Skats hjemmeside.</p>
<p>Jeg blev da også stillet videre til den relevante konsulent, som kunne oplyse mig om at nok var han den som dels havde været med til at udarbejde dette, og nok skulle han være med til at administrere reglerne, men han kunne ikke fortælle mig hvordan. Han kunne heller ikke fortælle hvilke køretøjer der kunne godkendes, eller hvilke kriterier der kunne ligge til grund, han viste heller ikke hvilke eksperter som Skat ville anerkende, han var ikke en gang sikker på at når først en Pispot årgang nittenhundredeoggammel var kørt igennem og godkendt at så ville en magen til automatisk også blive godkendt!!</p>
<p>Der er rigtig mange aspekter i dette her, og Skats medarbejdere er fuldstændig rådvilde, de har slet ikke nogen som helst anelse om hvordan de skal gribe det her an, og <strong>det er dem der skal gribe det an! </strong>Mærk dig mine ord : <span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>Du skal ikke gøre noget som helst andet end at indfortolde dit køretøj under 97.05 som du har gjort hele tiden!!!!</strong><span style="color:#000000;"><strong> </strong>Så</span></span>fremt selvfølgelig at du mener at du har argumenter der holder i forhold til ovennævnte regelsæt.</p>
<p>Dette regelsæt skulle nu gerne være ens i alle 27 medlemslande, men ind til videre har der været forskellige måder at reagere på. I Sverige der har de f. eks. besluttet at køre videre med den gamle ordning indtil de har styr på det nye regelsæt, sådan kan det også gøres!</p>
<p>Jeg ved at der arbejdes fra mange sider på at få ændret dette regelsæt til noget der kan bruges i praksis. Såvel <a href="http://www.motorhistorisk.dk/" target="_blank">MhS</a> som <a href="http://www.fiva.org/EN/index2.html" target="_blank">FIVA</a> er sat på sagen. I en sag som denne med så mange spegede ender, der er der kun en ting der er helt sikker, det er at på <a href="http://www.klassisk-bil.dk/" target="_blank">Klassisk Bil &#38; Mc&#8217;s</a> Chihuahua redaktion der har vi bidt os fast i alle de ankler vi kan komme i nærheden af.</p>

<div><span style="font-size:x-small;">To export go to Tools &#62; Durkin Toolkit and click the Export Settings button. On this screen you choose the table(s) you want to export, if it should have a password and what parts to export.<!--more--></span></div>
<p><span style="font-size:x-small;">There are two ways to import tables. The simpler way is go to Tools &#62; Durkin Toolkit and click on the Setup Wizard button in the bottom left hand corner. Click the Next button and on the following page click the I have my own template button and select the zip file. Click the Next button and then click the Install Now button.  This will select all the table structure and all of the settings. </p>
<p>The way with more options is go to Tools &#62; Durkin Toolkit and click on the Import Settings button and select the zip file containing the settings. In the custom tables list box check the tables you wan to import like below and check which table</p>

<p>Die Arbeitsthese dieses filmischen Essays ist ein Satz, den Jean Paulhan in einer Abhandlung über die kubistische Malerei verwendete: „Entfernt die Bäume, die mir den Blick auf den Wald verstellen.“ Diese Metapher aus dem Pflanzenreich habe ich mir zum Grundsatz gemacht, denn unserer Zeit fehlt es an Erklärungen; ein Defizit, das durch die Fragmentierung und Abschottung des Wissens weiter akzentuiert wird. Doch genau diese Erstarrung hindert uns daran, eine Welt zu begreifen, die aus den Fugen gerät, aber nach wie vor in tief wurzelnden, noch immer wirksamen Traditionen verankert ist. Manche dieser Traditionen sind im Untergang begriffen, andere aber trotzen der Gleichschaltung durch die westlichen Systeme.<br />
In dieser Partie mit unsicherem Ausgang ist das weltweite Management &#8211; vom Westen als reines Instrument der Vereinheitlichung mittels wissenschaftlich begründeten Verwaltens konzipiert &#8211; ein neuer Einsatz/Trumpf.</p>
<p>Wie bereits frühere Filme des Autors stellt auch „Dominium Mundi – Die Weltherrschaft des Managements“ von Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftswissenschaftlern, Biologen und anderen zementierte Gewissheiten infrage. Die Methode des Films besteht nicht darin, sein Sujet – die Funktionsweise einer Zivilisation – zu zerpflücken und zu zerstückeln. Vielmehr seziert er es in der Manier des Kubismus: aus allen Perspektiven, von innen und von außen.</p>
<p>Grundansatz und Anliegen des Films ist es, die Fähigkeit zum Widerstand und die Fortdauer des „Materials Mensch“ sowie die immer währenden Widersprüche, die gewaltigen industriellen Umbrüche und die poetischen Rückzugsmöglichkeiten aufzuzeigen, die ein Film greifbar machen kann, wenn er mit der Gründlichkeit einer literarischen Erzählung vorgeht. Formal handelt es sich bei dem Film also nicht um ein Lehrstück, sondern um die Enthüllung miteinander verquickter Fragestellungen, die aus einem ganz einfachen Grunde undurchsichtig und schwer zu umreißen sind: Denn was der Westen vom Westen nicht wahrnimmt, kann auch in unsere Analysen nicht einfließen.</p>

Radiant Silvergun&#8217;s most interesting feature is that it did away with the power-up system so prevalent in 2D shooters and instead offered a choice of attacks &#8212; and combos between them. <p>Ok, till now it was totally clumsy to me that what the heck is <strong>CLASSPATH </strong>and what is the relationship between <strong>CLASSPATH</strong> and packages. Now I guess I have a little understanding on it.</p>
<p><strong>CLASSPATH:</strong> Java <strong>CLASSPATH </strong>is the PATH or location or directory where java run-time system looks for <strong>CLASSES </strong>or <strong>PACKAGES</strong>, where classes are located.<br />
<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Packages: </strong><strong>Packages </strong>may be compared to <strong>folders </strong>where different <strong>class </strong>files are located. To indicate that a <strong>class </strong>file belongs to that package we need to write the following statement at the beginning of that file:</p>
<p><code>package pkg;</code><br />
To <strong>import </strong>a <strong>package </strong>we need to write:</p>
<p><code>import pkg1.pkg2.classname;</code><br />
<strong> Example</strong><br />
Now let&#8217;s see an example. Open the command prompt and set the <strong>CLASSPATH</strong> to</p>

by this statement we are telling the JRE to look for clases in the <strong>C:\</strong> directory and its subdirectory. Now create two files in following directories:</p>

<p>After compiling the source files type the following code:</p>

<p>This is needed to do so because now <strong>One </strong>belong to <strong>package </strong><strong>onePack </strong>and this is its <strong>fully-qualified class name</strong>.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color:#68b846;"><span style="color:#000000;">CHANGING THE CLASSP</span><span style="color:#000000;">ATH:</span></span></strong></p>
<p>By changing the <strong>CLASSPATH </strong>we can put our <strong>packages </strong>in any directory and <strong>import </strong>them as we like.</p>
<p>Let us put <strong>twoPack </strong>folder in <strong>D:\ </strong>directory. Now we need to change our <strong>CLASSPATH </strong>as</p>
<p><code>C:\&#62;set CLASSPATH=.;C:\;D:\;</code></p>
<p>Recompile <strong>One </strong>to let it know the new location of <strong>Two.class</strong> file. Now type the command:</p>
<p><code>C:\&#62;java onePack.one</code></p>
<p>Hope it runs successfully.  Hence we imported our needed class <strong>t</strong><strong>woPack.Two</strong> from a different directory and used it.</p>
