Ontem (30) aconteceu em São Francisco a primeira apresentação da turnê “For You and For Me” da cantora australiana Kylie Minogue pelos EUA/Canadá.

Para nós, simples mortais, o que nos consola são as resenhas de quem foi e os vídeos disponibilizados pelo youtube e sites de fans.

Mas dá pra imaginar o quão onipotente foi este espetáculo, Miss Kylie Minogue sempre arraza, com som (voz) impecável, figurino invejado, telões por todos os lados, bailarinos de tirar o fôlego, enfim produção inegualável.

Um dos presente, era Gordon Elgart, do blog Spinning Platters, que escreveu uma boa resenha sobre o show, trazendo detalhes da apresentação. O site Kylie Brasil, separaou e traduziu alguns trechos pra gente.

“De acordo com o gerente do Fox Theatre, o show da Kylie foi o maior já realizado no espaço.

No primeiro ato, uma música de filme começa a tocar ao fundo. Em seguida, Light Years se inicia e Kylie desce em cima da caveira. O primeiro figurino é cibernético. Neste primeiro momento, Minogue se inspira no bloco “Silvanemeses” da Fever Tour 2002.

No segundo ato, Kylie volta com uma sexy roupa de couro para cantar o medley de hits do período da PWL. No terceiro momento do show, Minogue utiliza o traje que usou em Like a DrugX Tour,mas agora na coloração branca. Nesse momento, ela mantém a inspiração da sua última turnê e aproveita para apresentar sua banda.

No quarto bloco a cantora se inspira em Showgirl e o ato se inicia com uma projeção dos dançarinos tomando banho. No quinto ato, Minogue volta para cantar suas baladas. A sexta parte do show traz Kylie em um figurino preto, fazendo alusão à turnê Showgirl Homecoming. Depois, todos saem do palco. A platéia começa a gritar o nome da australiana que retorna em seguida para finalizar a apresentação.

so the new cheryl cole video “fight for this love” is online now and while, rather annoyingly, i cannot embed it, you can click here to watch it. when i first watched it i was going to give it a B+ but i’ve since decided to give the video the nearly unattainable grade (i’m a tough critic) of A-. AMAZE!

as you can already see from the images it above, the video is fantastic. that whole red striped hood and glasses thing is probably my favourite moment style-wise in the video, although it does bear a striking resemblance to kylie in her “in my arms” video. actually she looks exactly like fellow girl aloud, nadine coyle, in a few shots too (see below). that latter is undeniably more intriguing than the former but i’m not docking her any marks as both looks are fabulous, stolen or not.

to be honest, when i first saw the video i wasn’t sure it really fit the song. but then i felt a nagging desire to watch it again. and there you have it; that indescribable it-factor that makes an A music video. you want to watch it over and over again because it somehow improves the song itself. i’m going to try and break down said it factor into point form so that we may possibly understand it for future generations of pop starlets to copy endlessly.

1. lots of outfit changes. seriously, cheryl’s in and out of clothes in the video like a stripper. i think i counted 7 different ensembles, not all of them fabulous.

2. wear something noteworthy, even if it’s not that fashionable. those leopard print pants: hideous, but you know what, i’m totally talking about them either way. WIN. i’m also not that keen on the whole military get-up: good idea, so-so execution.

3. dancers. ALWAYS IMPORTANT! actually, my favourite bit in the whole video comes at 3:06. best dance move ever. it’s like cheryl is the lead hen and they’re all her chicken bitches!

4. cgi, really great graphics. this video has amazing graphics. like they threw some money around on this clip. it probably had the budget of the first 15 girls aloud videos combined. it makes very little sense (amazing) but really blends in fantastically.

so for the above 4 reasons – dancers, a plethora of fabulous (or at least intriguing) fashions, cgi – the video “fight for this love” is a huge success. but all this got me thinking about cheryl cole – the popstar. i would expect this song and the subsequent album to be a significant success for mrs. cole and i think that if she continues to play her cards right she has a long and exciting future in the world of pop music.

specifically, something about cheryl and this video is making draw comparisons to madonna. it used to drive me crazy a few years ago when everyone was comparing britney to madonna as even then it was painfully obvious that britney was as thick as two planks whereas madonna is extremely intelligent and a master at manipulating situations to her advantage. i get this same sense from cheryl cole. she has navigated her career with great aplomb over the last few years becoming unarguably the breakout personality of girls aloud, thanks in part to the support of simon cowell via her appearance as an x factor judge. i think cheryl cole might just have the unstoppable will to demolish everything and everyone in her path to superstardom, much like a young italian american girl with daddy issues did all those fateful years ago.

only time will tell…

They’re not just “words.”  They are true and the emotions behind them are real.  I never want to forget these words but even if I can’t memorize them I will always feel them in my heart.

It’s the middle of my week…in four short days I will go from being on vacation to being unemployed.  Yes, I decided since they were paying me a weeks worth of accrued vacation time, I would consider this week a vacation.  Of course, I have been job searching and cleaning on my vacation, but nevertheless, it is still a vacation.  Next week…unemployed.

So today I thought I’d give you some random things…really random things.

• My job weighed six pounds.  When I was laid off from work, I lost six pounds.  Who knew my job weighed as much as I did when I was born.
• I have a long list of things to do today.  None of which include surfing the net or posting on my blog, and yet here I am.
• I have about two dozen lemons sitting on my kitchen counter taking up space and waiting for me to juice them and freeze them.  However, I do not have one of those little plastic juicers.  I wonder why I never bought one of those.
• It frustrates me when I call a business and they give you a time frame of when they will return your call and they don’t call.  Now granted, I gave them my cell phone number so it is not like I am tied to the house, but I just know that they will call the minute I get into the shower.
• I think that I will pull out my sewing machine tonight and tackle a couple of projects and some mending.  I haven’t had my machine out since I finished my parent’s quilt.  I think I am having a little bit of withdraw.
• Chuckie has developed an interest in playing soccer.  I’ve never known him to be interested in soccer so this surprised me.  He wants me to see if there isn’t a league around here he could join.  I told him he needed to wait until we had income coming in and then I’d see what I could find.
• For some reason, the skin on my thumb and pointer finger keeps blistering and peeling.  Hand squeezing a dozen lemons yesterday only seemed to exasperate the problem.  I don’t know what is causing it and I don’t know what to use to repair it.
• Monday night I had the chance to help Andrew with his homework.  I love that he is starting to read.  It makes my heart happy.
• I am moving from the preschool class to the kindergarten class this fall at church.  I will be co-teaching with my sister.  I am a little sad to be moving, I love the preschoolers, but I felt God telling me that it was time.
• I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight.  No idea.
• I am going to eat leftover spaghetti for lunch.  I am not a huge fan of leftover spaghetti, but desperate times call for desperate measures.  Yes, I consider having to eat leftover spaghetti a desperate measure.
• I am trying to improve my typing speed.  I have been practicing the lessons here.  After years of working with one hand on the mouse and one hand typing (Autocad), I am finding it really hard to type with my fingers on the correct keys. It does not feel natural at all. I can type about 35 WPM with my upgraded hunt and peck method. That’s not great though.
• I don’t know why the V CAST song ID is not working on my phone. There have been two songs I’ve wanted to know and it wouldn’t work. I wonder if I somehow inadvertently canceled the app when I changed our plan.
• I did figure out that the one song was Every Little Thing by Melanie Doane. It’s such a pretty song and reminds me a lot of In My Arms by Plumb.

Okay, better jump in the shower and run my errands before I don’t get anything done.

Ya estamos listos para comenzar una semana mas de crítica y de dar la mejor tijera a todas lo sucedido en el mundo del showbiz (wow que internacionales nos hemos vuelto), queremos agradecer a toda la gente que nos ha buscado y que sigue día a día, esta columna, ya que eso nos hace esforzarnos y dar lo mejor de nosotros, ya lo saben, ¡se vale comentar de todo!…

Y antes de seguir, les dejamos este video que es parte de lo numero uno que se escucha en la radio…los dejamos con Enrique Iglesias y “Donde estas Corazon” que esta nominado a mejor cancion del año con los premios Billboard 2009

Pues bien comenzamos con la información, desde lo oficial hasta radio pasillo…asi que que esperamos y vámonos de lleno…

En información de ultima hora, Sabine Mussier (ex aventurera) discutió con unos paparazzis que estaban tomando fotografías de ella y sus hijos y al pedir registro de ellos o de la publicación que representaban, pues nomas no entregaron nada, molesta e indignada por que en la Cd. De México se vive una total inseguridad y mas cuando ya se manejan cifras de “supuestos pagos” a varios famosos como fue el caso de Andrea Legarreta, Galilea Montijo (que veremos mas adelante), Mayte Perroni y Anahi, y son como anzuelos y comida pa los “ratones de la ciudad de la esperanza” (que yo creo que si todos cambiaramos de profesión, y fuésemos ratones…si nos iria muy bien). Bueno el chiste de todo es que se lanzo a la Procuraduria para poner una denuncia de hechos, y se mostro que dichos “paparazzis” venían en carros con vidrios polarizados y no mostraron credencia alguna. ¡que horror!

Como bien dice ella:”con el pretexto de una revista, ya no podemos pasar tiempo de calidad porque no sabemos si nos quieren asaltar, secuestrar o hacer otra cosa” puntualizó.

Ahora bien, ya las revistas como bien lo hemos dicho antes en anteriores post, están tomando otro giro, si bien nunca falta una nota donde “fulanito beso a sutanito”, “pelea entre gays”, “el ya se casó con su novio” incluso en America tv, dicen “boda de lesbianas ofende al público” o “Perenganito cobra tanto”, “merenganita recibió tanto”… como bien mencionamos en un rato atrás, En un periódico de circulación nacional se mención que Galilea Montijo y Andrea Legarreta cobraban cantidades elevadas por asistir a alfombras rojas pues la cantidad es de $350,000.00 y esto es lo que ellas comentan al respecto y que incluso ayer mencionaron en su programa Hoy: (Andrea)” Me parece un atrevimiento que saquen ese tipo de información, 1 no es veraz, a mi nadie me preguntó, no sé de donde sacaron esas jaladas, porque es lo que es, por otro lado, yo sinceramente casi no voy a alfombras rojas o a ningún tipo de evento nocturno y por otro lado ni siquiera iría si cobrara eso, porque no creo que nadie pagaría esa cantidad para que yo me vaya a lucir mi linda cara” por otro lado, también Galilea comento: “ya no sabes si es un paparazzi o alguien que quiere asaltarte, además es un periódico, que puede perder credibilidad, además es trabajo, y uno como persona famosa, también vas al Dia”.

Planeta Hollywood se estaciona frente a nosotros para dejarnos las noticias más frescas y relevantes de la semana.
Chris Brown (cuyo nombres se ha volcado entre odio y disputas) se disculpa con Rihanna, después de darle “tremenda zapatiza”, que le propino, después de una fiesta previa a los grammys, donde incluso se descubrió que ya vivian una relación de violencia, pues el muchachito ya llora y no esta tranquilo, ya fue con su mami a llorar y esta en platicas con un Pastor! (venganos tu reino)… pero los madrazos, y la burla y el escarnio quien se los quita! Aunque la versión mas fuerte es que ella le contagio una enfermedad sexual (herpes, sífilis) que según se contrajo con su ex amante Jay Z. Brown está libre con una fianza de $50 mil y no ha sido acusado formalmente ante la fiscalía. El martes pasado, Rihanna pospuso un concierto en Malasia luego de los reportes de la supuesta agresión. Por otra parte, la compañía de golosinas Wrigley anunció la suspensión de sus campañas publicitarias con Brown hasta que sea resuelto su caso penal. Wrigely dijo que suspenderá cualquier anuncio que se transmite en la actualidad o cualquier campaña en la que aparezca Chris Brown como imagen de la goma de mascar Doublemint hasta que la situación se resuelva.

Se niega a cantar…el cantante Peter Gabriel, candidato al 0scar por mejor canción original, anunció que no cantara debido al escaso tiempo que le otorgaron en la ceremonia. De esta forma, Gabriel no cantará finalmente en la ceremonia el tema Down To Earth, escrito por él mismo y Thomas Newman, que forma parte de la banda sonora de la película WALL-E y que ya ha sido premiado con el Grammy a la mejor canción escrita para un filme. “Pese a haber únicamente tres (canciones) nominadas, sólo ofrecieron entre 60 y 65 segundos para cada uno, y no creo que sea tiempo suficiente para hacer justicia a la canción. Por eso, he decidido retirarme de la actuación”, afirma el ex componente del grupo Genesis en un vídeo publicado en su web. En su opinión, los compositores de canciones son “una pequeña parte del proceso de realización de una película, pero también trabajan duro”. “Ésta es mi pequeña protesta”, agregó Gabriel, cuya canción compite por la preciada estatuilla con Jai Ho y O Saya, dos temas incluidos en la cinta Slumdog Millionaire.

Y para todos los románticos que adoran finales felices….siempre no se divorcian J.Lo. y Marc Anthony: dejaron claro durante el Día de San Valentín, y en medio de un concierto en el Madison Square Garden en Nueva York, que están juntos, que se quieren y que de divorcio nada.
La famosa pareja quiso dejar claro, y al parecer terminar finalmente con los rumores, de que su relación anda mal y para ello utilizaron el mismo escenario donde presuntamente anunciarían el fin de su matrimonio de cuatro años. Después de interpretar tres temas, Marc Anthony se dirigió al público. “Quiero decirles algo, ha habido rumores”, dijo sin entrar en detalles para señalar que “tuve otro San Valentín” y que “estamos bien”. Acto seguido señaló que “quiero presentar la nueva luz en mi vida” y salió del escenario para retornar cargando a Emme, mientras que una sonriente Jennifer Lopez, que vestía un traje corto negro, sostenía a Max. Los rumores de presuntos problemas comenzaron el pasado diciembre cuando la actriz y cantante acudió a un acto en Los Ángeles sin su anillo de boda y han continuado ocupando titulares en medios de comunicación a pesar de que ambos habían negado lo del divorcio.

Lo que es el amor, porque seguro esa fue la razón por la que Salma Hayek dio el sí a su ahora esposo Francois Pinault, ah y claro su hija Valentina, que seguro fue lo que los unió de nuevo. Ellos se conocieron en 2006, se flecharon, o eso nos dijeron, nada tiene que ver y esto lo digo para aquellos mal pensados que crean que fue interés, cuando los dos tienen dinero, eso no es importante. Él es heredero de la fortuna del dueño del grupo de lujo PPR, propietario entre otras de las firmas Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga y Puma. Ella es actriz, pero además productora.

En 2007 se iban a casar pero a lo mejor la crisis hizo que esto no pasara, se separaron, se dijo lo de una supuesta infidelidad del francés, nació Valentina y después se les vio juntos de nuevo, pero no habían regresado, eran considerados más bien una pareja muy open mind, porque aunque no eran pareja salían juntos.

Después el cuento de hadas resurgió y regresaron, y el día del amor y la amistad, a lo mejor inspirados por el récord de besos en el Zócalo y toda esa parafernalia, dieron el sí en París, en una boda muy íntima. El francés ya tiene dos hijos producto de un anterior matrimonio, para la veracruzana es la primera vez. Esperemos que les vaya muy bien, los dos son exitosos, además tienen una linda hija por la cual estar juntos.

En otro orden de ideas como dice el buen Ernesto Laguardia, al que por cierto, hago un paréntesis, regreso al teatro con un monólogo de nombre “El Tiempo Vuela“, que espero ir a ver pronto y comentarles qué tal está, ya que según las críticas que luego son reales y luego no, dicen que está de diez, a los que hicimos un poco de teatro nos consta que un monólogo bien hecho es casi como la graduación, pues todo el peso cae en ti, el texto debe ser exquisito para que lleves por un sinfín de emociones e intenciones, además el teatro poco tiene que ver con la televisión, y aunque el señor Laguardia tiene buen currículum en esos lares, el teatro es otro boleto.

Y hablando de regresos, la que sigue vigente es otra paisana, Yuri, lo digo porque Salma es de Veracruz y yo también, pura belleza de ese lugar. En fin, decía que Yuri está de regreso de nuevo otra vez con nuevo look, en 2007 ofreció un concierto que marcó una pauta, ya que vendió muchos discos, sacó un dvd que sí se vendió, y tuvo su programa de televisión. Ahora con un nuevo look que la hace ver más joven, regresó igual en 14 de febrero pero esta vez al Auditorio Nacional, donde ofreció un recital muy a su estilo. Con disco en mano esperemos le siga yendo bien, ya no como en sus ayeres, pero sí con fuerza y estabilidad, tan poco visto en muchos artistas.

Y por último, ustedes recordarán que hace unos años, Mariana Levy (la Picara Soñadora), murio a causa de un susto que le propino un tipo de nombre Sergio Hernandez, donde asegura que solo le toco estar en el mal momento, y que ni sabia que Mariana estaba enferma, y que lo culparon, sin deberla ni temerla. Asegura tambien que ni el Pirru lo reconocio y ahora quiere contrademandar por los años perdidos en la carcel.

Terror Dactel kills it. I love that hard electro bass beat. I can picture girls going nuts for this song, singing along and gettiing freaky on the dance floor. Dupa o lupta de 2 ani cu boala cumplita, Kylie Minogue a revenit in forta si in seara de 6 mai, cand a dat startul noului ei turneu mondial de promovare “KylieX2008” la Bercy Arena, Paris.
Renumita pentru aparitiile live extravagante, Kylie nu se dezminte nici de data aceasta si a pregatit o serie de show-ri incendiare: un band live si o fanfara, 14 dansatori, 4 acrobati, ecrane uriase de proiectie, jocuri de lumini si elemente grafice spectaculoase.

Birthday boy

One year ago today at this time I was having a 3 inch needle inserted into my spine, scared shitless that the anesthesiologist would hit a nerve like the first time I had a c-section 3 years prior.

Thankfully I didn’t have to experience the most intense pain of my life a second time.  This chic knew what she was doing.  Then again it wasn’t 2:30 in the morning and this time it was planned so it was a much easier situation for everyone.  I laid there trying not to pass out with my legs feeling like two unmovable logs as the Docs pulled out this creature that had been calling my belly home for the nearly nine months.  The doc held him up over my face so I could see him and warned me I about to get dripped on, which I did.  Pretty gross to get dripped on by baby slime!  I was so surprised by that I don’t even remember what my son looked like the first time I saw him.  I will never forget, however, the first time I heard him!  He was protesting very loudly about

the whole thing.  It was very clear by his sharp, loud cries that this was not enjoying this one bit and demanding to be put right back.  The nurses and doctors laughed in amusement and I laughed nervously wondering if he was going to be one of those babies that cried constantly.  One of the nurses remarked that it was the sweetest cry she had ever heard.  It did have a sweet ring to it I admit, and it still does sometimes, depending on my and his moods!  I spent the next 6 hours lying flat on my back trying not to throw up.  I had some kind of reaction to the anesthesia this time and it was the most horrible nausea I’ve ever experienced!  Nice to have a new baby, but over all, quite a terrible day, and the sleepless and painful night that followed was even worse.  I think my little jaunt down memory lane should stop here because that night and the following day I felt pretty damn awful.

So today is his first birthday and I am in complete disbelief at how time flies.  I am happy to have the first year and all it’s trials and tribulations over but at the same time feeling like I am forgetting so much!  Even though I was with him nearly every waking moment, I just can’t really remember all the little stages, can’t remember how little he must have been or savoring how his warm little body felt against my chest as he sighed sweet breaths of baby slumber.  Even looking at pictures of him he looks so different now, it’s as if he is a different being altogether.  I guess I’m just feeling tinges of sadness at his babiness fading away and the upcoming toddlerhood before me.  Time for tantrums, hitting, and biting….can’t wait!  I’m just not ready to stop giving him bottles and binkies.  Not just yet.  Why can’t I just hit pause?

Just to get his point across, that yes he is turning one, he started walking last night.  Not just taking a few steps, but WALKING across the floor.  Just decided to stand up and walk, like he’s been doing it for months.  He probably has been able to do this for quite some time actually but just didn’t feel like it knowing him.  Such a stubborn little booger!

Too bad it’s such a gloomy day out there but I am enjoying not feeling like I need constantly to be outside.  On warm sunny days I feel like such a loser if I don’t get out there and soak it all up so it’s kind of nice to just get cozy and stay in for once.  For the first time since maybe May it is colder outside during the day than it is inside.  67 in and 63 out.  My feet are freezing and I’m wearing 2 layers on my upper body.  I will wear flip flops and shun socks until my feet turn blue and lose all feeling in them damn it.  I am in complete denial that summer is gone.  Like if I just don’t acknowledge it winter will take the hint and stay away.  Old man winter you are not welcome here!

I’ve never been into scrapbooking.

Don’t get me wrong…I think it’s great. Seriously. I’ve seen quite a few scrapbooks & I consider them works of art. However, I’m bad enough as it is getting my pictures developed & put into albums. So, in my case, scrapbooking would never amount to anything more than many good intentions.

The other day though, it hit me.

My blog is, in a sense, my scrapbook.

It’s my place to share my stories, pictures, thoughts & and talk with family & friends who I wouldn’t normally see everyday. I’ve only been blogging for a little over 9 months now, but I really value this outlet & all that goes on here.

I took a video of my kids the other day. We were enjoying playing in the backyard & at the park. I’m by no means much of a videographer, but I love capturing these precious days of their childhood.
