The Queensland Government’s South East Queensland Regional Plan requires Council to accommodate 156,000 new dwellings by 2031.  This area has been identified as a Principal Regional Activity Centre.

As an area close to the Brisbane CBD and located near major road and rail transport lines, Indooroopilly is expected to grow significantly over the next 20 years.

The draft strategy accommodates this growth while balancing the unique character of Indooroopilly. It proposes higher density development in Indooroopilly Centre, more retail businesses and offices along Moggill Road and a revitalised Station Road coupled with tree-lined streets, new footpaths to the river and new open space.

You can have your say on the draft neighbourhood plan strategy by providing written feedback by post or email from Monday August 9 to Friday August 27 2010.  Council is also holding “Get to know your draft neighbourhood plan strategy” sessions:
