1. Welcome to Our Dream

This is an intro track, instrumental only. This track sounds like what you would hear in a theme park, like Disneyland, seriously. This track also sounds like what Yoko Shimomura would compose and put in Kingdom Hearts. Cheery, sunny, cute, IDK what else. Pretty good for an intro, it prepares you for the blinding cheeriness that is this whole album hahaha. Why welcome to our dream tho? IDK, does Infinite really dream of theme park? or theme park themed song?

2. Man in Love

This is the title track, a cute track with an equally cute MV. Still not as sugary cute as B1A4 of course, but this is the cutest concept Infinite has done so far, even surpassing Nothing’s Over and She’s Back. The song is not intense, yet still maintain the retro feel that Infinite always have. Take a look at the full MV :

I died from the rainbow and cute, okay. Everyone looks good, though a bit too colorful? or I was just too accustomed to the monochrome suit wearing Infinite…

The costumes, I admit looks like what B1A4 or SHINee would wear hahahaha, plus SHINee is currently promoting Dream Girl, no? You should see for yourself, SHINee’s costumes are more bold and hipster though?

Man in Love is good, catchy, and serves as title track. This will stuck in my head for quite a while.

3. Iboda Joheul Sun Eobsda. (이보다 좋을 순 없다.; Nothing Better Than This.)

Good song, but not so catchy. This song carries a cheery feeling like the whole album. Not gonna comment much on this, since this song is nothing special, really.

4. Geuriumi Dahneun Gose (남자가 사랑할때; The Place Where Longing Feeling Touches)

another way to call this song is “Still I Love You”, they use that title for music show promotion. Yeah, they promoted this song, among other songs. For me, this is the most boring and bland song in this album. Nothing stands out. This song has TVXQ/ SHINee feeling though o.o Infinite is a bit similar to those 2 groups IMO, they are strong in both vocals and dance. Therefore ballad song is a calling.

5. Beautiful

Composed by Woohyun. I guess he got title suggestion from SHINee’s Key, his bff? SHINee has a song titled Beautiful too in their latest album Dream Girl : The misconception of you. I like this song! not as much as 60sec. or Man in Love, but this song stands out more than the other. I read somewhere that this is a Sunggyu- Woohyun duet? but I definitely hear Sungjong and L o.o

6. 60Sec. INFINITE version

Originally a title track from Sunggyu’s solo mini album “Another Me” (a very good album I say, you should try it if you haven’t yet). As I wrote in previous post, Infinite performed this song on last year’s Gayo Daejun. Thanks Woollim for putting this song on Infinite’s album >,<

60sec. is a very very very good song, it’s still on my jam until right now, seriously. What I didn’t expect is, I like Sunggyu’s solo version better than this Infinite version. The harmonization is awesome, but some parts are a bit awkward, especially Dongwoo’s (additional) rap. They changed the lyrics too, in the end of the song. I dunno if they will perform this song live… (plz plz do so)

7. Bulpyeonhan Jinsil (불편한 진실; An Inconvenient Truth)

A fun track, really, super cheery, and the boys sound like they are playing while singing haha. Wait until you read the lyrics

Verdict :

I ordered this album before listening to any of the song. Am I disappointed? No, Infinite always deliver. Though this mini is not as strong as, say, Infinitize (The Chaser, in the summer, I like you, Only tears), it is a new challenge for Infinite. Shedding away their charismatic image and opt for a cute image is not easy. They have never been this cute after Nothing’s Over. The songs in this album are all cheery, fun and fresh type (IDK about the lyrics tho) instead of fierce. People who like their charismatic image may be disappointed, but you saw this coming since the teaser bro. Plus, they are still young, so what’s wrong with cute? they still have a lot of time to try other concepts…

Score : 8.5/10 for Man in Love and 60sec., also Beautiful and Inconvenient Truth (that song is funny)

Hello, it’s Infinite’s general Sunggyu haha Hum first, I’m a bit embarrassed but I’d like to say words I never could say to the members. Hum members, thank you so so much for always respecting and following your hyung who is lacking, I’m really really happy to have you by my side. Truthfully, I’m not a very strong person but I could do as if I was strong and confident on the outside because you guys are by my side watching over me reassuringly. Hum, if you keep on being by my side, I will get stronger so I hope we will continue to become even better friends in each other’s lives. Uh you guys are so lucky to have such a strong friend like me hahaha Our Dongwoo, Woohyunnie, Myungsoo, Howonie, Sungyeolie, Sungjongie, uh to all of you, I sincerely love you.

Yes! The songs you just heard were sang by Infinite. Ah they’re cool right? I’m Dongwoo! ㅎㅎ Everyone, what do you think when you listen to music? The pain of when you break up? Love’s thrill? On a rainy day like today, hum, when I listen to music it’s like friend saying what I think for me. Music lets me hear of things I can’t even think of. Hum… Also when I listen to music it sometimes reminds me of when I work, when I’m oversea too, when we have conference with composers working with Hoya… Hum gathering all of our strength to record even though we were tired and didn’t have much time since everyone was busy with their personal activities such as dramas, musicals, etc … I was also sorry but seeing each of us working hard like this was great because Infinite is infinite! Our skills and strength are also infinite~! This is the album that resulted from our hard work~! It’s the songs we completed with our heart and soul. Hi? It’s Nam Woohyun! Two years already went by since we did our debut! If I look back… A lot of things happened. There were tiring things, happy things, during those times our Inspirits were always by our side. You overcame the hard things with us and looked over us and I think it’s thanks to that we could do music like this until now. I hope the people around me will be happy too and for that I have to do well! I will become Nam Woohyun who won’t even disappoint you with always an improving image. Everyone, I love you. It’s nice right?ㅎ First, this hiatus felt really long~ Thank you so much to the fans who waited for us. I’m going to talk about my dream. Ever since I was young, I vaguely had this dream of becoming singer. But I was too scared to challenge it. So, when I was around 17, I thought that I couldn’t hide and put off my dream anymore… Me, who didn’t know how to sing and dance, I suddenly quit school and challenged my dream to become singer. Hello! It’s Sungyeol! Like this… Having a time alone… I’m kind of nervous. In 10 or 20 years, my children will hear my voice… Anyway, because I didn’t always dream of becoming singer, the members really had a hard time because of me. Immature Lee Sungyeol from the past, clenched his teeth only late, while preparing this album, and even having the concert, the time where I could look back on myself came. So I don’t regret starting late at all. No matter how I see it, I was really late but I kept the words ‘Better late than never’ in my heart and did my best to prepare for this album. Until I become a person who looks forward to tomorrow rather than today, I won’t slack around and will work hard. When people said I was lacking, I got strength by looking at the people who were sincerely cheering for me next to me. What do to? I only received like this everyday, I feel sorry. I will become awesome Sungyeollie who can help you all when you’re tired! I sincerely… love you!!

Hello, it’s L. Infinite’s new album finally got released. You waited a lot right? Truthfully, while preparing this album, I was also looking forward to it but I think I was worrying more. Hum… it was like that while filming the drama too… for the oversea promotions… and until the concert. ㅎ My biggest worry was ‘I have to be even greater than before, I have to do better’. So for this album, from one to ten, because I wanted to hear everyone say ‘Ah! As expected from Infinite!’ I really worked hard. So watch over Infinite a lot and love us please. Thank you.

Sungjong:

Hello~! It’s Infinite’s youngest, Sungjong~! I already became an adult~ After becoming an adult, there are a lot of things I want to try and a lot of things I want to experience too! Today, I will talk about the things I want to do. First is a solo song. I’m still lacking a lot but I will work even harder wishing it could be included in our album. Secondly, I want to travel with my family. It’s been a very long time since I saw my family and it’s been a long time since we went on a travel together. So I want to see them, I want to talk with them and go on a travel to make unforgettable memories. Thirdly, I want to go to the university~ I want to meet a lot of friends and… I want to feel everything from the university life. There are this much things I want to do. Lizzy membuka kelopak matanya perlahan. Senyumnya mengembang ketika merasakan hembusan angin pantai menyapu wajah pucatnya. Pelan, dan sejuk. Lizzy membenahi selimut tipis yang menyelimuti kedua kakinya.

Hari sudah petang. Matahari telah berada di ufuk barat. Bergerak perlahan, tenggelam, seakan tertelan riak tenangnya air laut hingga meninggalkan pantulan bayangannya. Lizzy tersenyum kecil mengingatnya. Dongeng kecil yang diceritakan orang tuanya, tentang matahari yang terserap ke dasar lautan untuk menerangi kehidupan bawah air ketika malam hari. Ikan-ikan cantik, tumbuhan-tumbuhan laut, dan barangkali, putri duyung.

Lizzy menebar pandangannya ke laut lepas, tepat ke arah di mana matahari menghilang. Lizzy masih bisa merasakannya, sisa-sisa energi kehangatan matahari yang kemudian berganti dengan hembusan lembut angin malam.

“sudah gelap, ayo ke dalam”

Lizzy menoleh ke belakang dan tersenyum melihat Sungyeol yang beranjak dari rerumputan tempatnya berbaring dan bergerak ke arah Lizzy. Lizzy mengangguk sebagai jawaban dan  menyandarkan punggungnya ke sandaran kursi roda.

“kajja”

Namaku Lizzy, Park Lizzy. Aku terlahir sebagai seorang tunawicara, dan aku mengalami kelumpuhan total sejak balita. Bergantung pada roda-roda bantu sepanjang hidupku, dan tak bisa mengutarakan maksud dan keinginanku dengan kata-kata, aku bisa saja bunuh diri.

Ada banyak hal yang ingin ku lakukan. Seperti berlarian di sepanjang garis pantai, atau bernyanyi dan berteriak mengalahkan suara deburan ombak. Dan aku hanya bisa bermimpi sampai mati. Seringkali aku menangis dan menyalahkan Tuhan atas ketidaksempurnaan ini. Tapi, perkataan teman masa kecilku merubah segalanya.

“kamu menangis lagi? ya Park Lizzy, kamu sudah dua belas tahun, berhentilah bersikap menyedihkan seperti anak lima tahun…”

Aku membuang muka dengan cemberut.

“ehm, begini, kamu pasti tahu dongeng putri duyung kan?.. ugh, tidak tidak, aku tidak suka putri duyung, tapi aku tahu ceritanya. Begini, sadar atau tidak, kondisi putri duyung itu sama sepertimu. Ingat? Dia tidak bisa bicara, dan telapak kakinya akan terasa sangat sakit jika dipakai berjalan. Tapi dia tidak cengeng sepertimu, dia tidak menangis karena apa yang dilakukannya adalah sebuah pengorbanan,”

Aku menatap kesal anak laki-laki yang tengah bicara panjang-lebar tentang pengorbanan sang putri duyung. Ugh, menyebalkan! Dasar cerewet! Sok tahu! Bisa-bisanya dia menceramahiku seperti itu. Anak laki-laki nakal sepertimu, tahu apa soal putri duyung?

“…  maka dari itu, berhentilah. Jangan menangis lagi, arasseo? Ineo Park?” anak laki-laki itu tersenyum lebar.

Aku semakin cemberut dan menundukkan kepala, memainkan butiran-butiran pasir pantai di genggaman tanganku.

“aish, hyung! Kemarilah, Tuan putri kita ngambek. Ayo kita temani dia bermain pas—aw! Ya! Ineo Park! Kenapa aku dicubit?! Hyung cepatlah! Aku gak mau kita terseret tsunami gara-gara dia marah—aaaaw! Ahahaha”

Ineo Park, ‘mermaid’ Park. Nama itu meracuni otakku hingga sekarang. Menyenangkan, cukup menghibur. Mengingat diriku disamakan dengan seorang putri dari salah satu dongeng yang melegenda.

Omong-omong soal putri, setiap putri pasti memiliki pangerannya masing-masing kan? Aku? Tentu saja aku punya satu! Lee Sungyeol, pria tinggi yang tengah mendorong kursi rodaku, pemuda yang aku yakini sebagai pangeran terdampar yang telah kuselamatkan dari kapal yang karam. Sungyeol tinggal di cottage sebelah rumahku, bersama sepupunya, Kim Myungsoo. Jika Lee Sungyeol adalah seorang pangeran, maka Kim Myungsoo adalah… adik sang pangeran? Well…  sepupunya pangerang? Tidak, tidak. Pengawal pangeran? Umm, pengawal penjaga istal kuda milik sang pangeran.

Sungyeol menghentikan kursi roda tepat di depan pintu kamar dan membukakannya untuk Lizzy, “masuklah, aku pulang dulu. Ingat, kamu harus tampil cantik di pesta pernikahanku besok. Harus lebih cantik dari Raina, arasseo?” Sungyeol tertawa kecil dan mengacak rambut Lizzy pelan.

Lizzy tersenyum kecil dan mengangguk, kemudian menggulirkan roda-roda kursi dengan telapak tangannya, masuk ke dalam kamar. Pesta pernikahan Sungyeol, dengan Raina, besok pagi. Lizzy menghela nafas berat seraya memandang keluar jendela, menatap sayu ke arah bayangan bulan yang terpantul sempurna di permukaan air laut. Well, putri duyung dan pangerannya memang tidak memiliki akhir yang bahagia kan?

Semilir angin sore menyelusup ke sela-sela helaian rambut Lizzy. Sayup-sayup terdengar suara musik dan gelak tawa di kejauhan. Lizzy menggerakkan kursi rodanya mendekati bibir pantai dan menurunkan kedua kakinya ke atas tanah, membiarkan sejuknya air laut membasahi telapak kakinya.

Lizzy menggerakkan jari-jari kakinya, membuat goresan-goresan kecil di atas pasir yang lembab. Mengingat-ingat rangkaian cerita putri duyung yang diceritakan ibunya tiap malam sewaktu ia kecil. Seorang putri dari kerajaan bawah laut yang berenang ke permukaan karena rasa penasarannya atas dunia di atas air. Bagaimana kisah sang putri ketika ia jatuh cinta saat menyelamatkan seorang pangeran dari sebuah kapal di suatu malam berbadai. Tentang tekad kuat sang putri untuk mengorbankan ekor dan suaranya agar bisa hidup bersama pangerannya di daratan. Dan, kisah tragis di akhir cerita. Rasa putus asa sang putri, yang kemudian membuatnya menghilang perlahan bagai buih di lautan.

Lizzy menghela nafas pelan dan tersenyum pahit. Sungguh tragis kan? Satu diantara tujuh. Dari tujuh putri dalam tujuh dongeng yang berbeda hanya satu putri yang tidak berakhir bahagia. Bukankah ini tidak adil?

Lizzy memantapkan pijakan kakinya dan mencoba berdiri, mencari keseimbangan di atas kedua kakinya. Kemudian ia terjatuh. Pasir pantai terasa begitu dingin di kulit kakinya, hempasan air laut membasahi gaun putihnya. Lizzy menunduk dan menggigit bibir bawahnya. Butiran air matanya mulai menetes dan jatuh bercampur dengan air laut. Lalu, terdengar suara langkah kaki mendekat.

“ya, Ineo Park~”

Lizzy mengintip dari balik punggungnya, kemudian kembali menunduk dan menyeka ujung matanya.

“kami mencarimu dari tadi. Kamu sedang apa?” Kim Myungsoo berjongkok di sebelahnya. Setelan tuxedo hitam masih melekat rapi di tubuhnya. Aku yang seharusnya bertanya! Apa yang kamu lakukan di sini? Bukankah pesta pernikahan Sungyeol belum berakhir? Dan sekarang kamu membuat sepatu dan ujung celanamu basah. Dasar bodoh.

“menangis lagi?…kenapa? Kangen lautan, ya? Tuan putri?” Myungsoo tertawa kecil dan mengacak rambut Lizzy pelan. Myungsoo menyipitkan matanya ke arah langit. Matahari sudah setengah tenggelam, langit sudah mulai berhias semburat kemerahan.

“nggak bosan diam di sini terus?”

Tidak ada jawaban. Myungsoo melirik Lizzy yang tengah memainkan pasir dengan ranting kecil di tangannya. Tentu saja tidak ada jawaban!

“emm, mau melakukannya? Err, titanic pose?”

Lizzy menoleh dan berkedip ke arah Myungsoo. Myungsoo tertawa pelan dan membalikkan punggungnya, “sini naik”

Lizzy tersenyum kecil seraya mengalungkan lengannya ke leher Myungsoo. Myungsoo berdiri dan mulai berjalan sambil membawa Lizzy di punggungnya. Langkah Myungsoo semakin cepat, hingga akhirnya ia berlari menyusuri garis pantai. Senyum Lizzy semakin mengembang ketika Myungsoo berlari sambil berteriak mengalahkan suara deburan ombak. Lizzy menarik tangannya dan membekap mulut Myungsoo menyuruhnya diam. Teriakanmu bisa membuatku tuli, Kim Myungsoo!

Myungsoo menghentikan langkahnya di depan sebuah batu karang besar dan menurunkan Lizzy di sana. Lizzy merangkak naik dan duduk di atasnya, menghadap ke laut lepas.

“tunggu di sini sebentar” Myungsoo tersenyum dan berlari kembali ke arah cottage. Lizzy menyipitkan matanya ke arah matahari. Semuanya terlihat jauh lebih indah dari atas sini. Matahari terlihat lebih besar dari biasanya. Hawa hangat bercampur dinginnya angin pantai menyapu lembut permukaan kulit Lizzy. Lizzy memejamkan kedua matanya, menikmati setiap hembusan angin yang bertiup menerbangkan helaian rambutnya. Kemudian lamunannya terbuyar oleh suara nafas Myungsoo yang terengah. Dia sudah kembali.

Myungsoo memanjat batu karang menarik tangan Lizzy lembut, “ayo, aku bantu kamu berdiri”

Lizzy menggenggam tangan Myungsoo dan mulai meluruskan kakinya yang berpijak di permukaan batu karang. Myungsoo memeluk Lizzy dari belakang, menahan punggung Lizzy dengan badannya, menjaga agar Lizzy bisa tetap berdiri tegak.

Lizzy merentangkan kedua tangannya, merasakan hembusan angin yang bertiup melewati jari-jari tangannya. Matahari sudah hampir sepenuhnya menghilang, sisa-sisa sinar kemerahannya menjadi penanda kepada sekelompok burung camar untuk terbang meninggalkan pantai.

“kehidupanmu tidak harus berakhir tragis seperti putri duyung kan?” perkataan Myungsoo membuat Lizzy tersentak.

“aku tahu kau menyukai Sungyeol hyung” Myungsoo menghela nafas perlahan, “aku takut kalau ternyata kamu benar-benar putri duyung. Aku kira kamu akan mengakhiri hidupmu ketika tahu Sungyeol hyung akan menikah dengan Raina. Menghilang…bersama buih-buih di lautan” Lizzy menunduk memandang jari-jari kakinya.

“omong-omong, kamu tadi menangis gara-gara Sungyeol hyung ya? Tuan putri, kau cengeng sekali. Walaupun kamu tidak bisa bersama Sungyeol hyung, kamu masih punya pangeran yang lain kan?” Lizzy menoleh dan mendongak ke arah Myungsoo. Menatap wajah Myungsoo yang balik menatapnya dan tersenyum lembut ke arahnya.

“kamu masih punya pangeran yang lain. Ha? siapa? Tentu saja aku! Yah, walaupun mungkin aku lebih terlihat seperti penjaga kandang kuda bagimu, tapi percayalah, aku sebenarnya seorang pangeran!” Lizzy tertawa tanpa suara menganggapi perkataan Myungsoo.

“ayo duduk lagi, aku capek”

Lizzy tersenyum dan mengangguk, kemudian mulai merendahkan tubuhnya dengan bantuan Myungsoo. Myungsoo mengelus puncak kepala Lizzy lalu berbalik dan mengambil gitar kesayangannya yang ia sandarkan di bawah batu karang ketika ia kembali dari cottage tadi. Myungsoo kembali duduk di permukaan batu, beradu punggung dengan Lizzy. Jari-jari tangannya mulai memainkan senar dan mengalunkan nada-nada ringan. Lizzy menggigit bibir bawahnya dan tersenyum simpul. Lizzy menyandarkan badannya ke punggung Myungsoo seraya memejamkan mata, menikmati setiap petikan gitar dan nyanyian Myungsoo yang melebur bersama angin malam dan suara deburan ombak.

INFINITE, in general, is very talented. I enjoy watching their dances. They are known as the group that is 99% synchronized when it comes to dancing. However, they should also be known for their vocal talent.

First teaser was unveiled on Infinite Rally (fanmeeting)

Then individual teasers are released from D-7 until the D-1 of their comeback, so far 5 teasers are out (Sungjong, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Sungyeol and Hoya’s)

That means… Sunggyu and L’s teasers are left. Woollim is doing mass murder by releasing teasers orz, I would be dead when L’s teaser is out (I suspect D-1) then I would not be able to see their comeback (no way!!). This is their first comeback since I was turned into Inspirit! so excited, of course I’m ordering the album! Can’t believe it’s almost one year after The Chaser…

Judging from the teasers, Man in Love will be a rather lighthearted and cheery track? perfect for spring TBH, maybe something like She’s Back or In the Summer (but those were summer songs…) I absolutely love the intense Infinite, but I also love their lighter side, correction, I  love everything they do :V

From the Infinite Rally teaser, you can see them wearing military outfit tho (a la Before the Dawn), so….? @.@ maybe for the follow up song…
