Este post é simplesmente um conselho de quem já comprou, de 2008 para cá, 6 computadores, impressoras, pendrivers e muito mais na InfoBox e nunca houve problemas com a empresa.

Numa hora o seu computador dará defeito! Não é mau agouro. É estatística! E,  na hora do suporte, muitas empresas falham.

Em 2007, comprei um computador numa outra empresa e a dor de cabeça foi tão grande, na hora da manutenção (com 5 meses de uso), que até hoje estou na justiça esperando receber meu dinheiro de volta (já ganhei a causa, espero apenas a execução dos bens)!

E não se trata de uma dor de cabeça isolada. Antes de ser cliente InfoBox, tive vários problemas com outras empresas. E muitas pessoas também relatam problemas com outras empresas.

Na InfoBox, caso seu computador tenha problemas, você espera minutos pela manutenção e fica ao lado do técnico! Foi a primeira empresa, do Recife, a abrir as portas da manutenção. Aliás, ela não abre… a manutenção é 100% aberta, vá e confira na Av. Conselheiro Aguiar, 1441 em Boa Viagem.

Outra boa opção é a Nagem, entretanto não conheço o departamento técnico! Mas, amigos me relataram ser muito bom também.

“Berlin ist arm aber sexy” das wissen wir spätestens seit dem Ausspruch unseres beliebten Bürgermeisters Wowereit. Manchmal ist Berlin aber auch ganz schön blöd, wie man an der Organisation der aktuellen glamourösen Großereignisse in der Hauptstadt schmunzelnd beobachten kann. Das Zelt der Fashion Week am Bebelplatz ist gerade abgebaut, so dass der Blick auf das Mahnmal zur Erinnerung an die Bücherverbrennung endlich wieder frei ist. Erst kürzlich sind die Tränen der Touristen getrocknet, die die Entweihung des Ortes durch die Modeindustrie empörend fanden, da kommt schon der nächste Klops. Zum 20. Jahrestag des Mauerfalls gibt es ein Kulturprojekt, das an die friedliche Revolution 1989 erinnert und den Wandel zeigt, den die Stadt seitdem vollzogen hat.  Der zentrale Standpunkt ist eine begehbare Infobox am Potsdamer Platz, diese musste aber jetzt einer begehbaren Schminkbox des Berlinale Hauptsponsors  L’Oréal weichen. Kann ja nicht sein, dass so etwas Unwichtiges wie die Vermittlung von Zeitgeschichte einen prominenteren Platz bekommt als ein very important Malstudio für menschliche Fassaden.

Da hat der Kosmetikriese schon recht – schließlich ist der unabhängige Style der kratzbürstigen Berlinerinnen dem internationalen Filmpublikum der Berlinale nicht zuzumuten. Die Hauptstadt-Gören müssen dringend auf Konformität und Hochglanz poliert und gekämmt werden. Der Anblick könnte Besucher mit eindimensionalerem Frauenbild sonst schwer verschrecken, wenn schon bei der stets ungeschminkten wie großartigen Jury Präsidentin Tilda Swinton für diesen Geschmack nichts zu holen ist. Also Mädels – auf zur Nachhilfe in Sachen Big Hair statt asymmetrischer Kurzhaarfrisur und bronzinggepudertem Glitzerteint statt rauher Winterblässe.

Wer will denn schon den Geist schärfen, wenn man den Lipgloss zücken kann?

Schließlich ist die Infobox ja auch gar nicht wirklich weg, sondern nur nach hinten gerutscht. Deutsche Geschichte an den Mann und die Frau zu bringen, überlassen wir ohnehin in Zukunft  besser Hollywood, dann klappt das auch. Hat man ja an Operation Valkyrie gesehen.

Verschobene Infobox für die ignoranten Kosmetikverächter

In dreißig Jahren können wir dann die ganze Chose als Blockbuster bewundern, hoffentlich hält sich Tom Cruise noch, dann wäre eine Heldendoppelrolle als Helmut Kohl und Gorbatschow gleichzeitig drin. Vielleicht wird aber auch der zukünftige Darsteller auf dieser Berlinale als neuer Star entdeckt.

Der osCommerce-Shop hat ein 3-spaltiges Layout. Die beiden äußeren Spalten sind von Infoboxen bevölkert.

Nicht alle diese Boxen sind gleichzeitig sichtbar. Das ist abhängig vom aktiven Programm, oder davon, ob der Kunde angemeldet ist oder nicht. Einige davon halte ich für überflüssig, andere werde ich noch einfügen. Deshalb möchte ich diese Boxen vom Backend aus ein- bzw. ausschalten können. Eigentlich nicht besonders schwierig, ich habe eine neue Gruppe zur Konfiguration hinzugefügt und für jede der Boxen (ausgenommen die Kategorien) einen Schalter eingefügt.

FINALLY — got the wikipedia infoboxen posted to the site, along with some tiny fixes.

This is 3000+ tables on everything from ABA Teams through Simpsons Episodes to Zodiac Signs.  There’s a fair amount of cruft in these, but until I have live metadata editing going I’m not going to worry about it: it takes about 8 hours start to finish to process this dataset, they’re not perfect but they are perfectly usable.

I have the weather dataset and baseball datasets almost ready to go (along with a whole buncha others), but I’m going to take some time to get the site running better first.  Here’s a rough TODO list:

1. live, versioned metadata editing
2. uploading
3. Allow grouping of datasets by collection and add category tags
4. Make it so fields & contributors tie together.  (For complicated reasons, each dataset creates a new personal version of the field so you can’t actually walk from one “stock price” field to other datasets with that tag.

Then I’ll turn some intensive attention finally to the InfiniteMonkeywrench code.  We need better tools to wrangle these huge datasets into shape.

Since we have been asked to create a sort of “infobox” for this project, it would help to look at an example. The infobox that Peter keeps referring to is in the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin and was built by Schneider and Schumacher in 1995. It was built to give a viewpoint for all the construction going on in the Platz, and had a cafe, souvenier shops, models of the buildings that were being constructed and a history of the Platz in pictures.

The Potsdamer Platz was the busiest traffic center in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s and the heart of Berlin’s night life. It was the meeting place of the 5 busiest streets in Berlin, and supposedly the site of the first traffic light in Europe. It was also the site of the birthplace of German broadcasting and where the first railway station in Berlin was opened in 1838. Until WWII it was one of the liveliest places in Europe, but was left practically in ruins due to heavy bombing. It was rebuilt quickly afterward, and the black market thrived there. But in 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built, the area was torn down and became a no man’s land. Potsdamer Platz had the widest section of the Berlin Wall, so the entire Platz was destroyed.

The infobox was built to give the public an awareness about the history of the Platz and a view of what the future of the Platz would look like. The building was red so it would be a landmark in the city. It was only designed to be a temporary building, so it was torn down in 2000.

A weight loss plateau often occurs because the difference between energy intake and energy expenditure gradually balances. The human body must restore energy balance to survive, imagine the consequences if a human kept losing weight because he/she couldn't find enough food! Our body has physiological mechanisms in place which help maintain energy balance relatively quickly.

Un "plateau" ( il periodo in cui per parecchio tempo non si scende nemmeno di un grammo :-/ ) durante la perdita di peso avviene perchè la differenza  tra l'energia assimilata ( calorie ) e l'energia spesa gradualmente si bilanciano. Il corpo umano deve reintregare il bilancio energetico per sopravvivere, immaginate quali sarebbero le conseguenze se un essere umano continuasse a perdere peso perchè lui/lei non trova abbastanza cibo ! Il nostro corpo possiede dei meccanismi fisici che lo aiutano a mantere il bilancio energetico relativamente veloce.

Per superarlo.

• occorre aumentare il dispendio calorico durante la giornata, ad esempio attraverso l'esercizio fisico
• mangiare più spesso durante il giorno ( almeno 5 volte )
• mangiare cibi leggeri come frutta e verdura

Il Set-Point è una sorta di termostato del peso corporeo che viene come preimpostato alla nascita ed è regolato per essere mantenuto intorno ad un punto fisso da complessi meccanismi di feedback (equilibrio).

Questo significa che, tutte le volte che cerchiamo di modificare il nostro peso corporeo dobbiamo in realtà combattere contro questo potente meccanismo di controllo.

Per quanta fatica possiamo fare, per ottenere delle modificazioni permanenti del nostro peso corporeo, il meccanismo del Set-Point continuerà ad agire attivando dei meccanismi biologici e metabolici contrari per cercare di riportare il peso al valore pre-determinato.

Dato che non pare sia possibile resettare il Set-Point, il risultato sarà che, non appena abbandoneremo gli sforzi per mantenere il nostro peso su un livello alterato, il Set-Point tenderà a riportare il peso ai valori originari.

è proprio così, putroppo, aggiungerei. Certo, non è impossibile "battere" il Set – Point, ma comporta molto auto – controllo e forza di volontà.
