This week, Facebook saw a dip in traffic from Google, and some say it as a lot to do with Google+. While Facebook remains the leader in total users, Google has done a nice job building members for (and diverting traffic to) its new social platform. That said, do we really have to pick a side? Is this the social networks’ version of PC vs MAC?

Frankly, we suggest having an active presence on both Google+ and Facebook (as well as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest). But, if you have to provide an argument for jumping on the Google+ bandwagon, look to reason number 18 in this infographic from Infographic Labs: “Better for Business…G+ can help your visibility and ranking.”

Yes, Google+ is seemingly playing a big role in search results and this integration with search strategy is likely to continue. Let’s face it. Google owns search; and businesses still depend on showing up in Google search results. So, if Google infers that you may get a boost in search because you have a presence on Google+, then so be it – get on over to Google+ and like it, already – ‘er, I mean, “plus” it.

Google+’s network of 100 million users still has a long way to go to build up its community to rival Facebook’s 800 million member base.

The infographic also highlights other interesting Google+ stats, including that nearly 70% of its members are female. Meanwhile, the top Google+ users on the site based on the number of followers is Britney Spears (2.67 million), Snoop Dogg (2.33 million), Google CEO Larry Page (2.24 million), Ashley Tisdale (2.04 million) and Hugh Jackman (1.96 million).

Saludos,
