Thought I’d share some of the music that’s on repeat on my iTunes.  It is pretty random & eclectic but I do hope you enjoy! Every song strikes me in a different way and fits a different mood that I’ve been in lately.  Whether it be lyrics, a melancholy melody, or a beautiful guitar intro… you will probably find it here.

I love this song!  Blu’s tracks are always so soulful and melodic and this is my favorite track off of  Her Favorite Colo(u)r, his mixtape album that was released earlier in February.  I suppose you can call this a “break up album”.  But this is not your ordinary, in ultimate Blu fashion, it is seriously fresh, creative, and innovative; incorporating clips from indie films like Closer & Life Aquatic and samples from Billie Holiday, Radiohead, and Jummue Hendrix.  Ultimately I love his lyrics which fit the jazzy undertones like a glove.  He takes you on love’s journey after it has gone from sweet to sour.  But these tracks aren’t anywhere near depressing, but instead give of a feeling of accepting what love has ultimately become when it is all over whilst allowing you to reminisce a bit.  In “Amnesia” he samples Billie Holiday’s classic song “Am I Blue” and paints these vivid lyrics of lost love:

If you haven’t seen the live version of this song on Youtube you will appreciate the song a lot more.  Some folks might think she looks completely insane in the live performance but I see it as an artist in a trance and feeling the depth of her song.  The guitar accompaniment is beautiful and is a constant reminder of how I need to learn how to play like -  YESTERDAY!

Gracias a unas fotocopias (de las que no he hecho cutre-foto) hemos podido ver todos los casos posibles de verbos perfectivos e imperfectivos. Hemos dado la página 17 del libro, perteneciente a los adjetivos en modo instrumental.

Primo post dedicato alla musica dalle nostre zone, la Romagna. In particolare questo disco viene da Forlì, che musicalmente parlando è probabilmente una delle città più fertili in Italia.

I Venezia erano (purtroppo) un gruppo completamente strumentale e decisamente originale. Lo stile musicale è classificabile come math-rock, si rifanno sicuramente allo stile proposto dell’etichetta americana Touch & Go negli anni 90, ma anche a band più moderne (un nome su tutti: Tera Melos). Tuttavia il pregio di questi pezzi è di suonare freschi e soprattutto sinceri e non artefatti, nonostante la complessità di alcune parti.

È un peccato che si siano sciolti, ma è ancora di più un peccato che questo disco non sia ascoltato, per cui accaparratevelo.

I’ve had a bit of a delay come up with finance issues. Not a show stopper, I just wanted to get things a bit more organized first to give myself a little more flexibility and get exactly what tools I want. I should be able to start ordering and bringing the vision into reality this Tuesday if all goes well.   Considering that music is essentially a ” hobby” with me, I don’t have any “delusions of grandeur” when it comes to making money. I just focus on the music and “give ‘er”. I use to get caught up in the process, but these days it’s all about the end results.

Some thoughts …

It took me a long time to learn the importance of things like “air”. A lot of the time what you don’t say can be as important (or more important) than what you do say. Implied naked can be more effective and powerful than full naked. And sometimes the beat is still  there even if you can’t hear it (or if the radio is off!)

I’m quite glad to present you the debut-release from the polish band Printempo! A 11-track release brimfully filled with innovative nujazz mixed with some hip hop and trip hop elements. The tracks are quite relaxing, but there’s also a part in it which seems to force you to listen closly and let the music crawl into your mind. This album is a high quality instrumental hip hop. Nostalgic, smooth, sometimes mysterious. While listening to “Printempo” you’ll visit different world, world of great music.
