FILM Archives Inc New York City-based stock footage library FILM Archives Inc. turned to Square Box

FILM Archives Inc

New York City-based stock footage library FILM Archives Inc. turned to Square Box Systems Ltd. to create a custom-built online catalog solution for its large inventory of vintage and contemporary film and video. Collections include a century’s worth of movies, TV shows, commercials, newsreels, and documentaries.

Square Box’s Live HTML Publisher option runs on top of our CatDV Enterprise Server to provide clients with lightning quick web browser access to thousands of clips in our library,” said Mark Trost, FILM Archives president and CEO.

Prior to installing Live HTML and CatDV, FILM Archives relied for years on a text-only database of film notes and shot lists. “Descriptive text by itself is no longer an option for a film library in the age of YouTube,” Trost noted. “People simply expect to go to your site and find plenty of fully searchable, playable and downloadable video.”

Rolf Howarth and his team built the stock footage catalog essentially from scratch in CatDV, then added the web component and smoothly integrated Live HTML’s generic web pages to match the look and feel of the company’s existing web site. “One of the nicer touches was Rolf’s idea for an email clip basket our clients can use to collect links to QuickTime clips of interest,” Trost said.

The library’s research staff also uses the clip basket to respond rapidly to long wish lists of incoming research requests, emailing links to viewable, downloadable screening materials that used to take hours assembling on tape. “Producers are always working against deadline; this system saves them and us tons of time,” explained Karen Doogan, Vice President of Online Operations. “We use the time saved to constantly upload new QuickTime compilations as well as devote more hours to complex assignments.”

Clients praise the catalog for its clean, user-friendly design. Upon giving the site a workout, one independent Los Angeles television producer emailed Trost: “I think your website is great. I love the ability to watch the clip right there, but equally as important I like it how it doesn’t take me to another window — meaning, I can see the description of the clip and watch it. It’s a pretty good design. There are a couple other stock footage sites that have some of their collections online, but none of them work even half as well as yours.”

FILM Archives’ president credits that kind of feedback to Square Box’s willingness to go the extra mile in listening and responding to its customers. “They really have bent over backwards to address our every concern, no matter how small,” Trost said. “Live HTML Publisher has enormously enhanced our web presence; going with Square Box Systems for the project was the best decision we could have made.”

Mama Mirabelle – King Rollo Films National Geographic, King Rollo Films and the BBC produced 52 x 11

Mama Mirabelle – King Rollo Films

National Geographic, King Rollo Films and the BBC produced 52 x 11mins children’s series called Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies which combined animation and natural history footage.

“King Rollo Films faced several challenges when embarking on this project. We would be organising, logging and editing footage from National Geographic and BBC libraries and needed a system that would greatly expand the clip management features in Final Cut Pro.

After researching various solutions we gave CatDV a try out. We quickly established a workflow whereby we can carry all metadata associated with each clip all the way through the production process from logging until final delivery report (in the form of an Excel document).

What impressed us most about CatDV is how, through consultation with Square Box, the software has adapted to our needs. Suggestions we have made have been implemented quickly allowing us to achieve an effective and streamlined workflow.

We have built up our own library of footage here so we can instantly locate a clip based on log notes and import that clip into Final cut with one keystroke. The integration with Final Cut is excellent and with the use of XML we can keep track of our assets and cope with royalties and copyright issues.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending CatDV to anyone who needs a robust video cataloguing solution.”

Life In a Day When Oscar winning director, Kevin MacDonald, undertook an innovative new movie projec

Life In a Day

When Oscar winning director, Kevin MacDonald, undertook an innovative new movie project with Hollywood legend, Ridley Scott, he faced a daunting task.

Kevin MacDonald (“One Day in September”, “Touching the Void”) took on the role of creating a full-length feature film depicting the life of the World as experienced in just one day, that of 24th July 2010. This highly ambitious global “first” presented a series of challenges.

The media content for the world’s largest ever crowd-sourced film was derived from the global YouTube community; comprising hundreds of video enthusiasts, creative individuals, and novice film makers who uploaded the material via a special portal.

The project generated over 5,000 hours of video footage; consisting of 85,000 clips, 60 different frame rates, a multitude of different languages and a wealth of content duplication (e.g. in excess of 1,000 clips of people playing drums). The timescales were tight, with only a few months editing time allowed as the film was to be submitted to the forthcoming Sundance Film Festival.

This presented a number of significant editing and artistic challenges:

How would the clips be logged?

How would the content be classified and sorted?

How would the different video formats be standardised for editing?

Could this valuable media be archived to enable easy retrieval for future use?

The solution came in the form of a dedicated team of 24 multilingual researchers in a London Soho facility, working full time with CatDV – the leading media asset management software from UK-based Square Box Systems.

As media was uploaded to YouTube, contributors could enter their own comments with each submission. This metadata was then transferred into CatDV user-fields via XML. During this process, researchers had to standardise the metadata using consistent (English) descriptions and keywords, applying quality ratings and highlighting the best portions of each clip. They also had to reject any offensive or unsuitable content, including inadvertent copyright infringement. As well as allowing the researchers to efficiently review and log the footage as it came in to the CatDV repository, CatDV’s searching and filtering functionality was used to quickly whittle this down to 200 hours of short-listed video for consideration in the next phase.

Joe Walker, Editor of Life In A Day, commented “I got comfy with CatDV quite quickly. The ability to create our own tagging forms and easily revise them as we moved along was for me the advantage of this software, together with its sturdy playback of all that material. Although we were only using a fraction of its functions, it helped enormously.”

Due to the sheer volume and variety of media and metadata that had to be processed, CatDV’s advanced logging and searching functionality was at the heart of the workflow and key to the success of the project.

The website for this unique project has achieved over 37 million hits and the film met with critical acclaim following its UK and US cinematic releases.

University of Alabama

CatDV Media Asset Management Delivers Winning Solution to University of Alabama’s Production Workflow

Crimson Tide Productions Elevates the University of Alabama’s Championship Brand with Exceptional Productions.

At the hub of one of the busiest and most illustrious college athletic departments in the country is the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide Productions (CTP). Home to BCS championship Crimson Tide football team, CTP is responsible for producing the live video production and highlight videos for 15 different athletic programs including football, basketball, gymnastic, tennis, golf, volleyball, soccer, swimming, diving and more.

CTP plays a crucial role in preserving and promoting the Crimson Tide brand. In addition to video content, CTP is tasked with creation of the athletic department’s graphical elements, web content for its website, RollTide.com and live streaming for their subscription web service, TideTV.

When CTP was looking to simplify their archiving system to manage an ever-growing high volume of footage, CatDV media asset management tool delivered the solution they needed.

CatDV was built into CTP’s production infrastructure with the “The Nick Saban Show” in mind. The 30-minute highlight show with championship Alabama football coach Nick Saban, is ready to air live on TideTV the day after each game. The game footage is cut that night, closed captions are done in the morning and its off to air. The short turnaround time and need for a quick process on ingest required a custom asset management application able to handle the high demands of this highly popular show.

“We went down the path of a folder structure, and had a rigid system,” explained CTP Broadcast Engineer, Brennen Carlson. “But we’ve simply outgrown that structure. It was fine with certain productions but with a live broadcast event such as the National Signing Day, The Nick Saban Show, or many other shows, we may need to bring specific footage of a player during the season or broadcast up right away. We needed a solution that would integrate easily into our existing system and allow us to tag everyone in our database. CatDV was the best choice for us.”

CTP’s production studio is an all digital workflow, no tape. They made the transition from tape to digital approximately two years ago. 25 workstations are connected to a SAN server hosting over 100 TB of storage. Bringing CatDV into their pipeline was essential. CatDV provides for a searchable archive of previously used clips; converting CTP’s vast library of existing assets into an efficient database ready to handle the demands of Alabama’s hectic athletic department schedule.

CTP’s production team is made up of eight full-time staff members and 30-50 student interns throughout the year assisting in post-production as well as live shoots. Currently, CTP’s studio uses only two workstations for ingest. As more and more files are added to the systems, maintaining consistent workflow practices among multiple team members is a challenge. CatDV allows files to be retrieved quickly, creating a gateway for everyone to access the footage. Additionally, CatDV provides a quick and easy archiving method freeing up storage for their new projects.

“CatDV integrates seamlessly with our existing applications” stated Carlson. “It’s made the transition so much easier. We’re able to catalog old footage (we’ve cataloged approx. 10TB of footage so far), yet not disrupt our existing system. It’s a great solution.”

Another significant benefit of CatDV for CTP has been the ability to set permissions. This enables CTP to control access to sensitive footage using CatDV to customize to their specific security requirements.

An integral part of the transition process was the customization and installation support, implemented by JB&A, CatDV master distributor for North America. JB&A’s team evaluated CTP’s current and future workflow needs, then designed a training program to help the CTP team learn how to customize CatDV, not only for the initial install, but for future needs as the production workflow and volume of content continues to grow.

Crimson Tide Productions is an example of the high standard of excellence the University of Alabama athletic department has displayed throughout its long, prestigious history. Choosing the right solutions to enhance the production workflow for an already successful brand is not taken lightly.“CTP bet on CatDV as the asset management application to help us improve our efficiency,” remarked Carlson. “It’s proving to be a winning choice.”

The dialog with Muslim communities is becoming increasingly important at all levels and across many areas of society. Especially at the municipal level, this requires short, direct paths of communication as well as professional and competent partners. With the project “Muslim communities as participants in municipal life”, the Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with the Robert Bosch Foundation, has developed a concept to address these points. The project is aimed at men and women actively engaged in positions of trust and with the role of opinion leaders in community life.

In addition to a content-based educational concept based on key municipal issues, the Goethe-Institut offers participants an extensive range of language courses tailored to their individual needs. For this purpose, the Goethe-Institut provides bursaries for more than 25,000 units of instruction within the framework of the project.

At five different project locations, about 100 men and women will receive training on municipal issues over the coming two and a half years. The “Muslim communities as participants in municipal life” project has been developed using the experience gained in similar projects and knowledge acquired through relevant studies. As in the previous project, “Imams for Integration”, the project will focus on hands-on skills and ideas for real-world situations.

To ensure the necessary flexibility, the approach will be based to a large extent on participation, with extensive opportunities for those taking part to have a voice in shaping the course contents and structure. At least equally important for the project is the opportunity for personal discussion and direct contact with responsible individuals and decision makers with municipal authorities and institutions. A joint project conference in Munich will offer all participants from the various project locations an opportunity to exchange experiences and make contacts outside their own cities.

Canadian Tire CatDV Media Asset Management Tool Reinvents Production Workflow for Canadian Tire Corp

Canadian Tire

CatDV Media Asset Management Tool Reinvents Production Workflow for Canadian Tire Corporation

For over 90 years, Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) has been one of Canada’s most reliable and recognized brands. Its Family of Companies is supported by more than 1,700 locations across Canada, offering a broad selection of retail products, home services and financial services. Recently, Canadian Tire made an unprecedented commitment to Canadian amateur sports. In addition to an eight-year premier sponsorship of the Canadian Olympic Team, CTC announced partnerships with the Canadian Soccer Association, Skate Canada, Hockey Canada, Alpine Canada Alpin, Canada Snowboard and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

The in-house production department serves as the content creation hub, managing and producing media content for all of CTC’s brands, including its national charitable program, Jumpstart. The team, which works with external agencies for content when needed, is responsible for managing and archiving CTC’s historical media assets and preserving its intellection property. Finding a media management solution that could handle the high volume of all the combined media content was not easy; CatDV digital asset management application fit the bill.

The 6-10 person production team is tasked with a number of cross-company initiatives, including: the production of all promotional, events, and press conferences; content for internal corporate broadcasts; grass roots community and store level events; and high profile national launches. “When I came on board two years ago we had approximately 28TB of media and growing,” stated Brad Gerard, Producer, Event Production. “We were using another media asset manager in conjunction with an organized folder system but it wasn’t working well. I took a look at our projected growth, which was over 10TB of video content per year, and knew we needed a solution that would give us a lot of flexibility but also integrate easily into our existing workflow. CatDV was the best choice for our growing unit.”

In any given week, the production team will have at least two major video productions to edit in addition to the various production requirements from all the brands including corporate internal broadcasts. After the footage from a live event or recorded broadcast is captured, the digital files are brought back to the office, logged and captured, then transcoded to ProRes. Editing is done in one of their two fully loaded suites using either Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro X. A live broadcast may need a quick edit turnaround with content changes on the fly. “Last minute changes were incredibly difficult to accommodate before CatDV,” explained Gerard. “Try searching a 28TB server for specific shots if you don’t have meta data tagged to find the files. CatDV enabled us to have a rich search subset which has been vital to our ability to keep up with corporate growth.”

The installation of CatDV took place over three days. North American Distributor, JB&A, came to Canadian Tire’s headquarters to train and assist them in getting them up to speed with building a custom solution. Within a few short weeks, all photography from the previous two years (close to 120 events) were sorted, metatagged, and catalogued. As one of Canada’s most recognized companies and its multiple brands, there is a lot of extremely valuable intellectual property to protect. The production team serves as the keeper of 90 years of brand heritage. This included a recent project to preserve historical 16mm footage that was almost unrecoverable and is now safely digitized and catalogued in CatDV. “All we had to do was go to the archives and make a decision on priority,” stated Gerard. “We preserved over 40 bankers boxes worth of 1”, 2”, and 16mm film on a 3TB drive which we were then able to catalogue in CatDV creating an onsite historical archive. It was that simple, and we’ve seen immediate value.”

Another big win was CatDV’s ability to publish photo catalogues via the web client to Canadian Tire’s largely PC-based offices without having to install new software, giving them easy access to media catalogs to share with the other teams and individuals.

With so much content and so many diverse projects to manage, now more than ever, the production team at CTC needs quick, multiuser access to identifiable data and the seamless ability to share files via multiple outlets. “I’m constantly looking for production tools to be my partners in crime,” remarked Gerard. “We didn’t realize how much we needed CatDV until it we got it. Now it’s hard to imagine the efficiency of our workflow without CatDV.

Last week I arrived at the library just as a mother and toddler session was beginning. It was noisy, multicultural and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Beside me sat a woman in a burkha with a cute little boy. She was using the internet, and the boy, all huge brown eyes and longing, kept turning to watch the toddler session, but his mother kept turning his face back to the screen.

This upset me, so I went to the libarians and one invited them to become involved, but the mother refused.
The librarian said maybe the little boy was too shy.
I don’t think so. He was almost falling off his chair with frustration.

Not surprising, the little boy became more and more irritated, and started crying, preventing his mother from her business. Just as the toddlers session was ending, they also left.

I know this was none of my business, and yet I felt it was. The toddlers mums were a mix of British, European and Asian, and all enjoying themselves. They shared a story about a scarecrow, then sang happy birthday to one of the kids.
Such sessions are important for young kids to know how to behave in public, to learn how to make friends.
They are important to learn at an early age, before they get left behind, left out.

I have been reading a lot about the history of the Middle East and I sort of get the way the Ottoman Empire worked, to allow different social and religious groups to co-exist with minimal interraction, which led to minimal friction. I get that some people who move here will cling to that way of life.

But here’s the problem: When people move to another country, another culture, nobody invites them.

I had a friend whose Italian mother arrived in a new country. Once the family had unpacked, she did a lot of cooking, and waited. She waited for her neighbours to arrive, like they did in the old country. She cried when nobody came. She thought she had done something wrong, caused some offence. She felt miserable and lonely and thought she would never fit in.

But then her kids came home and told her that she had wasted her time, but they ate all the food for her. They told her that people only visit when they know her, so she would have to make an effort.
She didn’t know how, but she learnt.
She learnt because she hated being alone, hated being a liabilty or an embarassment to her kids. Her food became famous, and lots of her neighbours wanted her recipes.
She was one of the kindest, funniest, sweetest people I ever knew. But she had to make the effort or I would never have met her or known this story.

An acquaintance of mine shared an experience with me that got me thinking. He traveled frequently and was a member of a particular hotel chain’s loyalty program. One particular stay at one of the chain’s locations was, in his opinion, beneath the quality that he had come to expect from the chain. There were multiple issues with the room – some involving cleanliness and even security. He had just driven 10 hours that day so he kept his mouth shut, ate and went to sleep. The next morning, after checkout, he decided to tweet about this experience in an effort to vent a little. He didn’t run around the Internet leaving negative reviews, just sent a single tweet. As he continued his drive towards his next destination, about an hour after that tweet was sent, he got a phone call. When he answered the phone, he was surprised to hear that the caller was the manager of the hotel he had stayed at the night before and tweeted about. Curious, he asked how they had managed to track him down. The manager explained that the corporate office saw the tweet, identified him, contacted the hotel and spoke to the manager. She then apologized for the sub-par experience he had and explained that she had reversed all charges for the room.

A lot of pieces had to fall into place for that to happen. Someone had to have been monitoring social media channels, identify a problem, track down the customer in their database, identify the reservation and location where the problem happened, contact the hotel itself and, ultimately, contact the customer. This wouldn’t have been possible in the past. But I can tell you that this not only impressed him enough to start telling people; it created an even more loyal customer than he had been before.

Dealerships use data in many ways –including records of sales processes, service repair orders, and marketing – but not many utilize this data to enhance their customer service experience. In this article by Experian, they explain how the “key to strong customer service is intimacy.” Data alone cannot provide this intimacy. Human interaction is needed to really be able to know the customer, communicate with them and gain insights into their wants and needs. Both need to exist, however.

Joe Weinman, a columnist for Forbes, explained in an article, “An intimate relationship is the exact opposite of an anonymous transaction. Rather than a standalone profitable transaction, such a relationship is oriented towards a win-win. Customer intimacy is a competitive strategy, corporate culture and organizational design – all rolled into one – supporting multiple such relationships.”

One of the largest profit centers of any dealership is their fixed operations, but this is also the most neglected when it comes to just about everything – from tracking customer transactions with technology to marketing to them with targeted, behavior specific offers designed to convert at much higher rates. It’s also typically the last part of a dealerships operations to see the introduction of new technologies designed to enhance the customer experience and provide a more efficient process.

The fact remains that this competitive strategy of customer intimacy necessitates the introduction of technology tools in all departments of your dealership. Dealerships need to be able to identify problems and take action based on instantaneously available data. Without this component, this strategy falls apart.

The future of business success, according to the Experian article, will rely on having a system in which “companies can bolster their personal knowledge with streamlined, real-time access to more information. This will empower them to make better business decisions than ever before.”

The next time that negative tweet, Facebook comment, or review appears online be prepared to WOW the customer with technology in place that provides all the components that you’ll need to do this. By having the ability to react in real-time with comprehensive data integrated with your personal interaction with the customer, you’ll create an environment that increases profits through increased retention and the creation of brand evangelists.

Technical Details : For Steinberg Advanced Integration 2 DSP Studio Firewire

Featuring Advanced Integration with Cubase, outstanding I/O capabilities and first-class sound quality, the MR816CSX is a full-featured FireWire interface with built-in DSP that combines with Steinberg’s renowned Cubase music production system to form a latency-free recording and monitoring environment. The Advanced Integration between MR816 CSX and Cubase offers a unique and powerful production solution that fully mirrors Cubase functionality, adds DSP power for mixing, allows on-the-fly rerouting of input signals via Quick Connect, full integration into the Cubase user interface and much more. With 8 channels of sweet-morphing compression and a Yamaha REV-X reverb, the MR816 CSX is ideal for recording bands in rehearsal rooms or live gigs with a laptop, or building up a dedicated project studio or recording space. The intelligent plug and play handling means that Cubase automatically detects any attached MR816 hardware. And because the DSP FX run as VST3 plug-ins, these excellent plug-ins are available during mixing in Cubase, often replacing the need to purchase an additional DSP card. Excellent sound, great stacking options and a smooth, fast workflow are among the top priorities for studios using MR816 and Cubase as recording and production solution for their business. Connections required for studios like word clock, S/PDIF and ADAT are onboard, with the hardware inserts offering an ideal way of integrating boutique hardware units in the software realm. Features like Quick Connect allow on-the-fly rerouting by simply pushing a button on the MR816 front panel. Eight channel outputs offer full support for surround productions up to 7.1, ideally complemented by Steinberg’s fully multi-channel architecture and the Control Room features in both Cubase and Nuendo. Fully compatible with 32-bit & 64-bit operating systems, as well as any software application supporting ASIO and CORE AUDIO drivers.

Our company Onrego kept a breakfast seminar yesterday together with Microsoft and Service-Flow Corpo

Our company Onrego kept a breakfast seminar yesterday together with Microsoft and Service-Flow Corporation. The focus was on Onrego Online System Center Operations Manager, how companies can benefit from it as an instant ready to use service monitoring system and on Service-Flow Corporation’s ITSM integration between numerous ITSM systems and Onrego Online System Center Service Manager. Let me summarize the event to you.

In my previous blog post, I wrote datacenter workloads are moving from organization’s datacenters to hosters and to IaaS cloud service providers. Couple of other trends we have seen within a year are: (1) companies does not have intelligent service (and server) monitoring systems and (2) companies are interested in owning their ITSM data rather than letting their MSP to own it because problems might arise when MSP is changed. Trend #2 also includes a note: many companies are interested in Microsoft System Center Service Manager as of ITSM system.

With these trends in mind and because our company Onrego do have quick and cost effective solutions for these trends (the answer is www.onlinesystemcenter.com by the way), we wanted to get together bunch of great people (read: customers) and have a breakfast seminar to cover these trends.

The breakfast seminar took place at Microsoft Finland, and started with a great keynote from Microsoft’s Juha Karppinen, Server & Tools Business Group Lead.

Juha talked about Cloud OS and Windows Server & System Center.

Juha’s presentations was followed by Onrego’s Pekka Onnela.

Pekka told us about cloud based System Center Operation Manager made available by Onrego and had couple of crazy demos of Onrego Dashboard, a browser based GUI to Service Monitoring via Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Global Service Monitoring, a feature that lets you monitor your websites from all over the world.

After a quick pause, our partner, Service-Flow Corporation had their turn and Juha Berghäll and Kai Virkki entered the stage.

They gave couple of very nice demos how their cloud based ITSM Integration Service, which allows customers to use Onrego’s Online System Center Service Manager as their primary ITSM system, and automatically translate communication (such as tickets) to their MSP’s ITSM system. Service-Flow has done amazing job, since their online integration service handles ITSM systems such as ServiceNow, Efecte, BMC, Zendesk, and of course Microsoft System Center Service Manager. Service-Flow actually has online integrations to the largest Finnish MSP’s (CGI, Fujitsu, Atos and Tieto).

This means that when organizations want to have an online cloud based ITSM system (and they really do), they don’t need to take ServiceNow anymore. They can continue to use familiar Microsoft products because of Onrego’s Online System Center. And no matter if their MSP uses ServiceNow or BMC etc., integrations have already been made thanks to Service-Flow!

Onrego’s VP Kimmo Vesajoki ended the seminar and wished great summer time to attendees.

Thank you all the speakers and attendees!

As I threw out one idea, it was joyfully snatched up with the addition of another and another! It is safe to say, that we have been enjoying ourselves and are looking forward to God’s abundance and grace to continue to bless our time together.

CatDV Typical Workflows We like to think CatDV has a unique mix of flexibility power, simplicity a

CatDV Typical Workflows

We like to think CatDV has a unique mix of flexibility power, simplicity and cost. As a result there’s no such thing as a typical deployment. This section describes some workflows that CatDV can easily support:

A front end to your SAN and archive

CatDV makes browsing the content of your storage a breeze whether on-line, off-line, near-line or archived. Searching media could previously have taken hours or days, with CatDV finding media takes seconds.

Logging & Tagging

CatDV’s configurable Verbatim Logger is a fast and intuitive way of logging footage, even for new CatDV users. Notes, subclips, in and out points and markers can be created on the fly and playback controls are completely configurable. Flexible data types (radio buttons, check boxes, heirarchical lists) make the entry of even complex metadata fast.

Review and Approval

CatDV has been used on many prestigious products as a review and approval tool. Directorial review notes from screenings can be captured in CatDV and shared word-for-word with the post-production teams directly into the NLE or via CatDV clients (web or desktop). Editors, compositors, audio engineers and finishers can then update sequence notes to show that action has been taken. A recent, major TV production used CatDV for multiple levels of review from story boards through to playout and took advantage of the Production Blog and messaging tool. Take a look at this customer story for more details

Transcoding & Proxy Generation

With the plethora of cameras and format on the market today, to say nothing of user created content, transcoding is a critical issue for any organisation with lots of content. CatDV’s has powerful transcode capabilities, both in the desktop clients and in the CatDV Worker (the automation engine). CatDV can also be configured to work with other hardware or software transcoders.

Production Management

Any production that intends to reuse footage has a media asset management challenge. CatDV’s has helped many productions plan and track the status of their productions. Every element of the production can be tracked by CatDV providing an invaluable aid to planning whether on location or during post production. Knowing the timeplan, actual dates, status and owner for every asset makes productions faster and more efficient. Take a look at this customer story for more details

Video / Photo / Audio Archive

CatDV at its core is a powerful database for media assets. Any organisation that creates or commissions content for broadcast on any channel (TV, film, web, internal) will benefit from the ability to find and reuse content. There are a range of options available to share CatDV functions throughout organisations, from the powerful desktop client, through simpler web clients to completely tailored web interfaces using our flexible APIs. Take a look at this customer story for more details.

Print

A number of our customers use CatDV’s print functions as part of their paper based review and approvals process. This is particularly relevant for stills libraries but is also been used for video using the filmstrip views.

Barbara: For several days I had a headache at the base of my skull, I applied the ”Ignore it and it will go away” attitude instead of discovering what it was trying to tell me. Julie and I were discussing the imbalance in the status of women, minorities, and indigenous peoples in the world. When we broached the subject of powerlessness worldwide in these arenas, Jupiter came through…

Jupiter: “Women and minorities are dis-empowered, blocked from expressing their emotions, thoughts and beliefs…blocked from their innate gifts and the personal expression of them. They are disadvantaged regarding physical and material well-being including personal choices. They are held back by control and the domination that goes with it. This suppresses the building blocks necessary to foster growth in your world–personal and planetary. Survival is the best outcome for massive amounts of people presently. Imagine if you can, personal freedom from having to continue to do, and think, the same accepted thoughts and actions. To be free to question without reprimand, that is often severe.

“Earths template for this feminine principle is not held by Gaia, not held by Venus, Mother God (the feminine principle) nor Father God (the masculine principle), but by myself, Jupiter the Record Keeper of Earth and this solar system. Change requires healing the template of humanity at it’s very core.

Julie Q: “How is this possible?” “Can we assist in healing this wound?”

Jupiter: “This work has been spoken of before; humanity’s survival programming is the root of it’s struggle and needs healing…example; the fight or flight mode. When working from divinity there is no need for survival from suffering, there is not a vibration or resonance for suffering the same for lack. Ironically this programming has enabled many people to endure… this is true for women in particular. the access to feminine divinity and source has been blocked by religion and other systems that results in bondage. Remember, all wounds are carried in the body, in the cells and are mirrored in the body of Gaia… she too is in bondage, it is time to release and heal these wounds, the stones will provide guidance.”

The stones (through Barbara): “Unexpected and unanticipated wounding will be brought to humanity to trigger and expand compassion. Spiritual intelligence is the KEY. Use discernment to clarify the changes necessary, for this requires reaching into the unknown and bringing forth the joy and happiness that reside there. The journey must release all bondage with gentleness.”

Jupiter; “This work will not release karmic debt or free any one directly, it is known by all that your planet has free will. The intent is to simply change the human template held in the planetary record. This action will allow choice on the part of Gaia’s people and removes the ‘metal parts and plates’ that incapacitate movement. These are mental constructs that have resulted in eons of restriction. It does not initiate any individual actions; only allows for them. It is said: those with ears to hear… will hear. Thus it does not alter the record, except in current time.

Jupiter: “I will use terms you will understand relating to body’s restriction in these ways:

The spine at the pelvic girdle must release the original sexual identity codes to allow for the clearing of corrupted programming invalidating sex and sexuality

The spine the must release the reptilian brain and the emotions indenture to the primordial survival instinct

The solar plexus chakra or power center must stop suppressing the creative spark necessary for personal expansion

The ARMOUR that blocks The heart must be dismantled, for it keeps the emotional wounds from healing… by non-feeling

The root chakra must be cleared to open the avenue for greater awareness of possibility and potential

The thymus must create a connection to the feminine principal resulting in calm and peace

Jupiter requested to be the surrogate for this process. Julie will channel Jupiter while Barbara works through the steps to release the human template from the plates and contraptions blocking it from it’s highest form of fulfillment.

Sacred space was created and the celestial emissaries where asked to assist. Mother God (feminine principle), Father God (masculine principle), our spirit guides and helpers. The 4 directions and Q-consciousness were called in to hold space, as Grand Mother Ann presided over the ceremony. The keys of Enoch where commissioned to open the locks and remove the aberrations from each of the above mentioned areas of the human template…all the effects of this change were reviewed prior to implementation by the Council of Light, the Galactic Federation of Light, Grand Mother Anna and Prime creator. It is done.

Julie and I express our most humble gratitude for being used as an instrument for change.

Hindsight always 20/20, understanding addiction a little bit fuller in all life’s endeavors—clinging to someone because its feels good for Saturday evening and finding that person running away from me creating the anguish of a hangover, whispering to myself never again and finding myself drunk on affection the next day. Heart and head becoming further disconnected as part of me goes back to a childlike state wanting desperately to be taken care of, to be loved, trying to resolve the unresolved shadows of childhood knowing this must be done inwardly and yet seeking outward validation to act out what I wish would have happened. Hugs all the time, togetherness, vacations, time to appreciate each other. Mind going deeper into psychology, conceptualizing all interactions like some sort of case-study and pondering fragmentation in others through the mirror of my own fragmentation. Watching someone spout their own suffering onto me and soaking in that suffering like a sponge digesting food through its porous surface, purposeful hurt seeping into my skin. I let it build up and build up and all of the sudden I’ve come undone, my own being has become poisonous with this absorption of all that troubles others. Massaging out the problems of myself only a few minutes a day and trying so desperately to help others so we can all understand our hurt together . The family, humankind, is together again in its own jagged wholeness, its own ebb and flow of clinging and pushing away.

Julie and I have been processing loads of energy for the past several days; the product of Solar Flares emitted by our Sun. These light packets, or energetic waves are increasing and the human template can become overwhelmed with information! What is interesting to note is that many people are experiencing emotional angst, anxiety or confusion. Even we are a bit spacey…I made coffee and forgot the coffee. No… it’s not Alzheimer’s disease, when you become more present, and live in the moment, the past and future no longer come into play. Hence we no longer store the minutia. “Confusion is the result of an old belief coming up against a new belief (Penache Desi).”

Once again Spirit requested we use the Stones – both large and small. Large stones are placed rather than thrown or drawn from the pouch and their positions are guided energetically; today’s placement indicates something big is happening! We asked for the assistance of the 4 Directions, along with Q Consciousness, St. Germaine, Salkantay, Quan Yin, Mother and Father God, Mahavatar Babaji, and our personal guides (Ganesha was already I attendance).

A white candle was lit; we almost always use one in ceremony. Fifteen stones were placed, as well as a bowl of coins, honeysuckle vine and sacred water. (Barbara and Julie charged the water with the intent of amplification.) Thus honoring the elements at which time the inner earth people and the ancestors were welcomed.

Mother God (channeled by Julie): “Intense focus on what you choose is being brought forward.”

The stones indicated that radiant hands (healing energy and abilities) are being activated in people. Healing energy is usually first noticed in the hands and has been used for millennia. If you are not already doing hands on healing you soon will be… moving the energy!

The Stones: The Ancient Ones are outside the inner circle; Atlantis, Serpentine energy, the emotions and the pyramid(s). These are the foundation that the old paradigm was built upon and the wisdom that the old contains is necessary for the establishment of the new. The building blocks are coming together with the elements to create and fuse the new. Once again this is an alchemical change, applied not to the people, but to Earth… creating a radiant bridge of refracted light. Barbara and Julie “Is this the rainbow bridge spoken of in prophesy?”

Q. Barbara: Are the stones speaking of Earth forming a bridge…like a rainbow?*

A. Mother God: “It’s skunk water…because the water of the planet is filthy. (And we humans, as mostly water, are a reflection of that.) So earth needs a bath.”

Q. Barbara: Are the energetic waves we are feeling about this?

A. Mother God: “Yes. These will be experienced by all. It’s a huge cleansing, and purifying. “Those that are heavier than water will sink… those that are lighter than water will rise.”

“This water (bath) will affect all. So drink deeply – in body and in soul. Cleanse…from the inside out.”

* you will notice the answer had nothing to do with the question…not ready to be revealed yet!

The Stones: The emotions and the gift are elevated. Emotional content (chemical) is being bound with a heart-centered shift. Emotions are the chemical key – to anything and everything!

Mother God “Spiritual processing is ongoing via your path – meditation, service, intellectual inquiry, yoga – whatever the process may be. If life is difficult or painful, you are still on your path for “your highest good.” All the elements of creation are supporting you, Earth is also supported as she experiences the same process… for you are one.”

The Stones: The coming together of the principles necessary to break down the elements needed for the building blocks are in place they are infused with the ancient DNA/wisdom and creation codes of the new earth. This is the gift Atlantian paradigm and programming: the building blocks that create crystalline form ripe with the knowledge gained from the collapses the old, allowing the winged serpent to rise once again.

Wow! All of creation is collaborating in this; everybody is “all in.” This forms a vortex, and Van Allen is healing! Mother God chimed in “We, the people, seeking a more perfect union…are finding our way once again!” This is a release. The serpent sheds its skin and gives deliverance from slavery. Quetzalcoatl returns!

Julie and I are in awe at the message transmitted today… this has been talked about for ages but is happening now! All we can say is: “Bring on the Skunk water!

Every transmission is a new adventure and this is what transpired over the course of several days beginning May 31st

St. Germane (through Barbara): “The cat is out of the bag.”

Mother God (feminine principle) through Julie:

“You’ve gotta get going

Because you be knowing

The way that it’s showing

The path.”

Mother God then directed Barbara to dowse a U.S. map. Five specific locations in 5 different states got penpointed (literally!) by this process. For reasons that will become obvious as you read this blog, we cannot reveal these locations to you. However for those of you who may wish to be “clued in” about what’s going on, we’re sharing what we can…

In brief, the 5 places were relevant for the following reasons:

A place where toxic mine tailings have been released into a river.

An area known to have held sacred sites.

A high mountain peak.

No relevant specifics are known. Perhaps rocks or crystals in the area are important.

A place once known for a specific natural resource.

As the process Mother God intended unfolded, it was revealed these locations indicated places for Barbara to perhaps travel to and do work. Then came this message: “Great change is coming for you—‘rewards.’ Don’t fret and stew. You will be provided for.

At this point, a keenly intuitive individual who goes by the name of “Whyte Wizard” joined us. In a few moments, given only the fact that 5 locations had been selected by Spirit for some purpose, Whyte Wizard revealed the following:

“Site #1 will yield minor results for the time and effort involved. What is needed there (for those involved in correcting the damage) is emotional support as they persevere in their efforts.”

“This location, site #2, is of greater importance. It is important for you to go and spend time to do work on this one. A couple of days in ceremony would be good, plus time for local and personal energy rejuvenation.”

Site number 3: [Immediately, Whyte Wizard indicated that #3 and #5 were connected. He “sensed” this energetically.] “This location is a good balancing point. This site is connected to many grids; working there will bring balance. After the creation work is done, even greater balance will exist.”

“This location is more isolated (referring of site number 4). It is a private scenario for Barbara, primarily, however Julie will benefit also.”

“Location number 5 is an energetic anchor. It will take more work to accomplish: more intensity and intent. It could get frustrating. If the work is not completed, it will snap back—like a rubber band. Pay sharp attention in all ways while you are there. There is “weird” energy around the city and its inhabitants that may radiate outwards as far as 100 miles. Stay alert! and use great caution. The people there are primarily “unconscious” and in a survival mind-set. They function with the primordial reptilian brain and their thinking is “set in stone.” Stay in balance; there is vortex there.”

Q (asked of Spirit): “Is there some connection to Mt.Shasta with these sites?” (Mt.Shasta dates to Lemurian times and holds the energies of the inner beings and the city of Telos.)

A. Mother God (feminine principle): “Working there will help with the work at Site #5. You can work remotely and successfully complete much of the healing work at Mt.Shasta.”

At this point, the locations of all sites were revealed to Whyte Wizard, then provided this additional information: 1) All locations are “rigid” in their thinking. The work to be done will loosen the mind-set, and increase acceptance. 2) For location #2, focus was directed to a specific geographic area with a specific demographic target.

We give special thanks to Whyte Wizard for this invaluable assistance!

Continued on June 3, 2013:

We consulted the stones today in an effort to reveal any action necessary regarding the 5 locations that Mother God (feminine principle) guided us to work with. The questions arising for Julie and I are… what is the timeline, are others involved and what exactly are we meant to do?

The stones were thrown by Julie and they formed the shape of the human body, indicating symbolically what state humanity was in related to these sites. Radiance and Spirit added support on either side the head. Vulnerability and authenticity supported the heart stone. Significantly, the emotions were disconnected—some distance from the body. The left was high-heart centered with compassion accompanying it; the right signified transformation and revelation of the mysterious, sparking and being sparked by healing.

There were 13 stones in all, indicating the karmic number of upheaval. The number 13 indicates power used in selfish ways-for the destruction of oneself and others. St. Germane chimed in: On the flip side [and there always is one], “the energy of 13 is gutsy”. Thank you Germain!

As someone [on a website] put it, “Consciousness must always be the guide. Gain is through pain rather than pleasure.”

Further information from the stones:

Q. (Barbara): Do we prepare the foundation and conduct the healing through Mt.Shasta?

A. Mother God (feminine principle) through Julie: “Yes, but working remotely is not as effective as being at the location.”

As you can see there is a process we must go through that reveals the whole picture in increments. Many times Spirit tests your commitment and level of trust in the process, for patience is a necessary component. Regarding all five sites: we will work through the cellular memory or the body of each site allowing the earth to release her trauma held in the terra firma of this planet….bringing authenticity and vulnerability back to mankind indirectly.

I am sure there is more to the story, like you we will just have to wait and see!

Today we were advised to create sacred space and begin with the stones. The 4 Directions were called in to hold space in concert with Q consciousness. Personal guides and spirit helpers arrived; any clear beings who wished to be present for this project were invited. Saturn immediately made his presence known.

The stones (read by Barbara): Healing is indicative of spiritual intelligence, healing of wounds… through spiritual resonance and alignment. The topic to be addressed: Lack of Finances, which is equivalent to Lack of Abundance. The concept of LACK continues to be held in the reptilian brain of humanity, and needs to be healed by forgiveness.

Saturn (channeled by Barbara): “Lack of abundance (abundant support and finances) was seeded in us by DNA alteration when humanity became a slave race. Originally, humans were hybrids… a collection of many celestial races and were free beings. Human civilization on this planet was the ultimate experiment in creational abilities and free will. Then you became stunted. Your DNA was manipulated to de-evolve the species. Presently, the Central Sun is reactivating your original coding through an alchemical shift; not a big prolonged process–just a spark. This won’t be an evolutionary process. It is a spontaneous event. It just shows up. You will be ‘magnetized’ and ‘catalyzed.’* ”

Q. (Julie): “Is there something to do to unblock the human template so this can occur?”

A. Saturn (through Barbara): “It’s a matter of allowing. Nothing is blocking it. There is so much misconception…aligning to something, being something, doing something; having/ not having a certain state of mind. It has nothing to do with any of that. It is an alchemical process within the DNA, an electrical process.

*The words ‘magnetize and catalyze’ alerted us to ask for further information.

Saturn: “Generally Uranus is a big magnet for your planet while Jupiter is the catalyst… facilitating and speeding-up the processes.” (Saturn brought this information forward and advised us he is “Chairman of the Planetary Board,” so to speak).”

We called Uranus in to provide more details…

Q. (Barbara): Please explain this spontaneous alchemy of the DNA. Do you magnetize to assist earth with this?

A. (There was a very long pause, then Uranus transmitted Julie): We, the humans, need to magnetize our own healing. The process is simply to:

Intend that it will BE and ask for it (with anticipation and excitement).

Expect it. Hold on to the thought, the vibration, with a happy or joyous feeling; do your best not to waiver.

Be grateful – for everything in your life. This will greatly accelerate (magnetize and catalyze) the process.

Trust the alchemical process.

Uranus: “It all comes down to believing you are worthy of receiving it.”

The stones indicate the pyramids are also associated with this process…

Uranus (through Julie): “There are interstellar portals or stargates hidden in or near some of earth’s pyramids. Most of these locations are unknown and not where people would expect them to be. These are the stargates that will soon be used by beings on earth to transport themselves to other places in this solar system, the galaxy, and even beyond the cosmos. We are excited… for once the alchemical change is made within your DNA; there is a vibrational resonance in harmony with these stargates which can felt by an attuned person scanning the interior or exterior of these pyramids.”

Q. (Barbara): “Is there any action we need to take relating to the pyramids?”

A. Uranus (through Julie): “Just the mention of them will cause frenzy–a helpful frenzy. This is necessary for the evolution of your people…there is no way to block, or shroud, or to cover this up. Governments are aware of these stargates, and use some of them….there is a bit of utilization but not much. Most are hidden from view. We block this resonance from skilled ‘remote viewers’ who are not in harmony with them yet… it takes proper vibrational alignment to discern these pyramids.”

We closed with new insight on the pyramids, stargates and our DNA….cool.
