Anyhoo, turns out my bestest friend is having a baby this summer! I spend a lot of time designing baby shower invitations, but now I have the chance to throw a shower and do some custom invites! She didn’t want a shower like everyone else’s, so we went with a monster theme. The invitations are based on the super cute bedding set she bought. Perhaps she can even hang a few monster prints in the nursery?

Now, where do you find monster baby shower decor that matches your invitations? With scrapbook paper, scissors, and double-stick tape! I got down analog-style to make my own monsters. It was nice to step away from the digital world for a bit

I plan to really pay attention to the details too – there will be googly eyes on the cups and balloons, and even some monster duckies floating in the punch bowl. Hopefully I’ll remember to snap some photos, and post them after the shower…

We created all of our wedding invites ourselves and printed them through the trusty neighbourhood E-Print. I have to say, I was really impressed with the quality and the prices are so affordable. They offer a selection of paper textures and weights and they are fully customisable to whatever size you’d like. The only downside is that they don’t do envelopes, so we had to purchase envelopes separately at a stationary shop.

One of my bridesmaids recreated our wedding graphics onto a plate as our wedding present!

Ever since Bethesda confirmed that there will be no more DLC packs for Skyrim, everyone started thinking about the publisher’s next big project, and since it already got out an Elder Scrolls game, the next potential candidate would be Fallout 4. Unfortunately, if the following report is true, a sequel in the post-apocalyptic series will not show itself at this year’s E3.

Recently, the publisher has announced two new games – The Evil Within, and Wolfenstein: New Order. According to noobfeed, Bethesda has started sending out invites for E3 2013, suggesting that there will be three presentations from the company: one for The Evil Within, one for Wolfenstein: New Order, and another for The Elder Scrolls Online. Additionally, TES Online and Wolfenstein: NO will feature hands-on presentations.

The interesting part is that the publisher hasn’t mentioned Fallout 4 or anything related to it, nor any other unannounced game. The story has been taken down by noobfeed, presumably at the request of Bethesda.

Who knows, maybe the publisher is keeping it a secret for now, and plans to surprise everyone at the convention. Or maybe a leak will happen just before E3. It’s almost common these days.

So who are Myrtle & May?

Myrtle and May are a husband and wife team, Chris and Katie White.  We met at university, where we were both on the same Graphic Design BA Hons course in the beautiful city of Bath.  We have been together for eleven years now, married for six and we now have two children.

What Inspired you to come up with this concept?
We decided to set up our business so that we could offer digitally printed and personalised wedding stationery to couples at affordable prices.  The reason that affordability is so important to us, is because we married on a tight budget ourselves and so we can sympathize with those in a similar situation.  For any couples on a very tight budget, a design only service can be provided, which they can then print at home or via a printers of their choice.

Tell me something exciting about Myrtle and May?
Our name came about in part from a nickname that Kate’s Dad gave to her Mum – ‘Myrtle’.  Myrtle is also synonymous with British royal weddings, as a sprig of myrtle has been included in royal bouquets since 1858.

What’s your favourite design and why?
My favourite design is ‘Sue’ as I’m a lover of neat typography and simplicity.  Kate’s favourite design is ‘Olivia’ because it lends itself well to adding a backdrop of any of our ever-expanding range of ditsy prints…and Kate is mad for anything floral!  That said, all of our designs are special to us, as they are all named after important women in our lives.
