After the release of the iPod Nano w/ Video, we all know what’s coming next (or what should be comin

After the release of the iPod Nano w/ Video, we all know what’s coming next (or what should be coming next) – The iPod Touch with video. This could be the reason Flip has started running TV spots (below), which I actually like because of the simple way they show off the product. If the next generation iPod Touch is released with video this could be the end of Flips reign on the micro video market.

The reasoning is simple. The Flip is a great product but is limited to basic video functionality. The fact that it plugs directly into your computers USB port is helpful, but who doesn’t have the USB cord for their iPod?

The iPod should take down the Flip because of it’s large list of offerings, including internet access, mp3 player, gaming capabilities, and tons of other capabilities seen in the video below.

The Flip ranges in price from $149.99 – $229.99. The most expensive Flip has HD quality, which is the one thing that the Flip will have over the iPod. Of course the iPod hasn’t been released, but I’ll be surprised if it comes in HD. While HD is great the biggest problem is it’s not completely necessary for a mini video camera.

Right now the iPod Touch ranges in price from $199-$399 and the Ipod Nano Video goes for $149.99 – $179.99. For all intensive purposes lets say the 32G iPod Touch Video will go for $299.99. This means that you can get a video camera with a large touch screen that also allows you all of the other iPod Touch functions. Why would you need a Flip? I can understand buying the Flip over the Nano because of the size difference, but the Flip can’t match up with the 3.5inch digital display offered by the Touch.

Now, as a consumer, would you want to carry around an iPod and a Flip camera, or would you rather just carry one? The answer is obvious. The Flip will need to come out with new functions to compete with the iPod and stay alive within the market. What do you think they can do?

In New Zealand it is the 27th of November today which means that Apple’s Black Friday deals are finally live on their online store. That’s right, America – we constantly live in the future – you guys are still celebrating Thanksgiving.

Apple's New Zealand Black Friday deals

So what are the deals like this year? There is a set price off on all iMacs and Macbook Pros, $171, which is about 8.5% off the base model of each product (e.g. the base model iMac is $1999 – $171 is approximately 8.5% of that). The higher up models have the same price discount.

There is also a set price off on all models of the iPod touch and iPod nano – $35 & $15 respectively. That’s about 10% off the base model of the iPod touch & 5% off the base model of the iPod nano. Like with the Macs, all the other models have the same discount.

There’s also about 8% off the Apple TV – a $35 saving.

And, of course, there’s heaps of savings on both Apple and 3rd-party accessories.

Remember, of course, that these price cuts are for the New Zealand store only – I’m not sure what the American discounts will be like. However, I’m betting that they’ll be very similar in terms of percentage.

If you want to have a look at the deals yourself go to this page.

iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation

It was last year when I was offered an iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation. I refused because I didn’t want it at that time. Then months elapsed and Apple introduced the new iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation. This time I am not offered it so I am going to ask it myself. iPod Shuffle is part of my wishlist for this year and the demand has been formally forwarded but it would take a few months before I’d be able to own this beauty.

So why iPod shuffle instead of iPod Nano? The answer is simple I want Shuffle for strictly audio purposes. Its audio quality is great. Besides, it is small, light and sleek.

iPod Shuffle 3rd Generation

iPod Shuffle 3G is available in 2GB (500 songs) and 4GB (1000 songs). The design has been totally different from the 2G. In the previous generation all the buttons were on the surface. While in this one except for the on and off button which is located on the top corner the rest of the controls are on the headphone wire. The plus and minus buttons are for turning up or down the volume. If the button is hit once it plays the song, hit again for pause, hit twice and the next song is played. If you hold the button down for a second it tells which song you are listening to.

Many people, who have been using iPod 3G says that the buttons on the earphone wire is convenient because one doesn’t need to dig hands in pocket again and again for turning off or changing the song.

For those who don’t like bud style earphones and prefer the bigger ones, the third party headphone adapters are available.

iPod Shuffle 3G was initially available in black and silver colors but later on it was introduced in three more colors. So all in all this new iPod Shuffle 3G is smaller, thinner but a little longer than the 2G. I hope it would be a nice experience with my first ever Apple product.

Author: Taneja Geeta Source: ezinearticles.com The charm of the computer games is addictive in natur

Author: Taneja Geeta
Source: ezinearticles.com

The charm of the computer games is addictive in nature. That explains why people from various age groups love playing the latest generation games. There are a huge number of computer games. Some of them can be played by an individual. But there are some other games that offer the provision of multiplayer playing. Besides, one can also opt for the online games. While some of these games come for free, the others need a registration fee.

There are separate category of games meant for the children, teens and adults. The children’s games do not contain offensive and adult content. While some games are meant for those who love slashing the virtual monsters randomly there are some strategy based games that require the players to utilize the brain to solve certain problems. The lovers of the puzzle based games think that these help the players in sharpening their mental skills and alertness level.

It was in the 1980s that computer and console games made their debut in mainstream market. With the advent of newer technology and software the present generation games have become quite sophisticated and realistic. The days of the DOS based simple games are history. The present generation computer games are capable of displaying life like visuals and have stunning sound.

The web is a very good resource for finding resource on various types of games. One can also find game cheats and tips in various gaming forums and sites. However there are dedicated gaming consoles that give the gamers the maximum thrill and excitement. Among the leading gaming consoles of present times the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii deserve a mention.

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 have some impressive hardware specifications. They have sold in record numbers after their release and a number of games are available for both of them. However none of them have been able to beat the Wii in terms of popularity and innovation. The Wii uses a different approach towards gaming and that is interactivity. It is Nintendo’s fifth video game console and a direct successor of GameCube. The Wii games, “Game Console“, like Wii fit have found favor with a huge number of players all over the world. The Wii games are easy to learn and fun to play and that is why Wii has left both Xbox and PS3 lagging behind in sales.

It comes equipped with Wii Remote, a wireless controller. Another advantage of Wii over its rivals is its small dimension. It is quite lightweight and can easily be carried by anyone. In fact it is the smallest, “Game Console“, console introduced by Nintendo. It lacks the beefed up hardwire of PS3 and Xbox but more than makes up for it by its interactive operating style. It weights just 1.2 kg. The players can keep it either vertically or horizontally.

With eight amazing colors, a new curved design, and great new features, iPod nano rocks like never before. The Genius Playlist feature finds the songs in your music library that go great together and makes a playlist for you. With its built-in accelerometer, iPod nano is made to move. Give it a shake, and it shuffles to a different song in your library. Turn it on its side to flip through your album art in Cover Flow. And tilt, move, and play accelerometer-inspired games (games available separately). Watching movies, TV shows, and video is even more fun on the sharp 2-inch screen. And your photos (up to 14,000 of them) look great in portrait or landscape view. Available in 8 GB and 16 GB models, the 16 GB iPod nano puts up to 4,000 songs or 16 hours of video in your pocket.
Reviews from Customers

“So far, Excellent!”
Very excited when this came in the mail. I’ve had it for about two weeks now and I love it. Sound quality is great, and battery lasts a while too. The battery does drain somewhat quickly though when you are watching movies or playing games on it. Also, very sturdy. The only thing I recommend doing is getting a case at the same time as the nano. The screen is very sensitive to smudges and the like.

Again, overall: excellent.

“Sleek, Sexy, Reliable “
I got my pink 8 GB a few weeks ago and I absolutely adore it. I also have a 160GB Ipod which does wonders, but because of the bulk and size of the 160GB I can’t put it into my pockets, and when I put it into my purse and absent mindlessly set my purse down my ears buds get yanked out of my ears in a painful way. So I’ve tried to combat the problem by carrying it in my hand, or using a case with a clip, still uncomfortable and the cases were blocky and unappealing. Unfortunately while waiting for the bus I would get many looks of “I’m going to steal your Ipod.” Never fun.

So I decided to pick up this little gem, fits in my pocket, the battery life is wonderful at about 24 hours, the screen is surprisingly clear and bright. It’s so slim it can fit anywhere. The features are great, being able to shake your Ipod and have it switch to another song is a quirky fun idea. You have to give it a good shake.

For those who are worried about the cover art kicking in, or while running or jogging it switches to a different track..you really shouldn’t worry! I’m trusting that fellow Ipod users know to switch it into hold mode whenever it is in your pocket, (or wherever else) due to the click wheel being able to turn the vol up and down and your battery draining in case a surface, like the inside of your pockets rubs up against it and makes the backlight be on constantly. I use to put any of my older ipods straight into hold mode as soon as I was done picking a song.

It’s the same with this little player, put it on hold mode and cover flow will not be turned on when your player rests sideways, as well as the shake and switch feature will not comply, so you can run, jog and do whatever without having to worry.

This is a solid player, portable, with all the great vibrant colours, you can pick your favourite.

It does feel quite fragile however for being so thin, but there are many great case choices online to combat this. Clear plastic cases that don’t add so much bulk or block the colour/style of the player will do the trick!

“Great mp3 player”
Bought the nano 4g purple for my daughter and she was elated. She always wanted one after 3 other brands of mp3 palyers. The coolness of the design and bright purple was beautiful. The only sad thing was that the earphones that came with it was crappy. So we bought her a pair of Skull Candy earbuds and these work fantastic with the nano. So go out and upgrade your earphones to better ones to get better sound reproduction.

“Small But Perfectly Formed !!”
Ok… This might be the first iPod that I’ve owned but I’ve been an admirier of Apple’s work for some time. I have several friends with various generations of the original iPod and always loved the combination of art and technology that goes into them.

I had been the owner of a Sony mp3 player for about 2 years and until this summer had no reason to think about replacing it. 256meg of memory seemed enough for me and it was small too. What more did I need really ?? However, over the summer my trusty sony got washed and so it was time to look for something to replace it.

In the run up to my birthday Apple launched the Nano and I instantly fell in love with it. I have no real need for 60 gigabytes of storage but knew that 256 meg was limiting the amount of music I could carry around with me. Even the 2gig version which held 500 songs would be fine for me. I added a Nano to my birthday wish list and waited !!

Last Friday I opened up the sleek box to feast my eyes on my Nano for the first time. Even though I’d read pages of reviews about the player, I was still amazed at the size (or lack of size) of this unit. It’s just tiny !! Not so small that you’d lose it but small enough that when It’s in your pocket you can forget its there. The screen is so bright and clear and the sound !!…. WOW. For such a small player, it certainly packs quite a punch in the volume department. Full volume would certainly lead to hearing damage after a short time.

The iTunes software that comes with it is easy to install and easy to use. I was soon burning my CD’s onto my PC with ease. A 10-12 track CD takes around 2-3 minutes to load onto the PC but uploading those same songs onto the iPod takes a fraction of that time. Infact on day 1 I loaded about 450 songs onto my player and it can’t have taken more than 5 or 6 minutes. The product specs say that the 2gig version will hold 500 songs. Well I’ve got about 560 on mine at the moment and there is still about 250 meg free. I’m sure that the actual storage capabilities depend on the length of the songs you’re loading.

I’d read lots about the problems with early versions of the Nano with regard to failing screens and scratches etc. but guess what ??… stuff gets scratched and damaged, thats just how it is. if you;re silly enough to think that anything will stay as pristine as the day it was bought, then you’re bound to be dissappointed. I will be buying a case for mine (probably an Agent18 hard case) because I want to keep it in the best shape possible. I’d reccommend others do the same, not because it will fall apart if you don’t but because when you’re spending $200 on something, you want to look after it !!

I’m not going to tell anyone that the iPod Nano is the best value mp3 player on the market. There are plenty of others that have it beat hands down in terms of storage and price. However, I am willing to say that It’s probably the sexiest mp3 player around and has the competition beat when it comes to looks. Add to that the fact that 500+ songs is probably more than enough for most users, that the quality of the sound is excellent and that (sor far) battery life has been up there with most of the others on the market, this really is an awesome piece of kit and well worth considering if you don’t need the ability to carry around 25,000 songs !!

Bottom line… if you want a great looking player that is very capable and also has some neat additional functions that most of the others don’t have then get out there and get yourself a Nano. If you want something thats gonna hold thousands and thousands of songs and withstand you throwing it around all the time, look elsewhere !!

I love mine

“The Mini Mini”
I have been reeling over when to buy a new ipod for a long time now. I have a 3rd generation 10gb ipod that I got for Xmas in ‘03 and it was immediately filled to the brim with music. I have probably used the thing every day since I’ve had it but the battery isn’t what it used to be and I have to charge the thing for a good hour and a half during my work day just so I can listen to it for the last few hours. This has become an inconvenience for me considering that my job is extremely boring and the workplace is fairly loud and I find myself getting easily frustrated without music. The new nano commercial certainly is flashy and very persuasive. I want to point out that the click wheel does not glow up at all-I think that Apple falsely advertises that it does and that they should look into changing this misrepresentation. I am sure that they did this in the commercial for a greater effect but I can bet that people who haven’t seen it in person and purchase this item online will be a little disappointed when receiving it.

Considering how fast I filled up my 10gb ipod I was torn between getting the new 30gb model with 3 times the amount of space I had before, or, the nano with considerable less space but a much longer battery life. It was a very tough decision but I went with the 4gb nano because of its long battery life. I know that Apple is going to continuously have new and improved models so I decided that the nano could hold me over until a 30gb model with a better battery life (for music and videos) and other improved features comes out.

The nano itself… I would say that I wasn’t all that impressed at first sight of the nano, it looked different than the previous nano and very similar to the mini which I thought looked silly. My impression has totally changed considering the fact that I haven’t been able to put the thing down since I got it last week. I can’t stop holding it and marveling at how compact, light and sturdy it is (compared to the previous model). The screen is colorful and bright and I am happy with the resolution of the photos (albeit on a really small screen). The new headphones are an improvement since the previous ones didn’t fit in my ears too well. I haven’t noticed much of an improvement regarding the sound quality but I am extremely satisfied since these are more comfortable in the ears than the previous model, the cord is longer, and they also will not wind up together since they are separated by a handy little piece of rubber that you can adjust to your preference.

Some small gripes…I have noticed that the games tend to slow down at times, not really a big deal since these games get boring within the first 2 minutes of playing them. Transitioning from one screen to another isn’t as smooth as on the other models–probably due to the fact that the nano is flash drive based. The click wheel isn’t the most stable and certainly takes some getting used to. I have noticed that turning the backlight on and off isn’t as easy as it used to be. On my older Ipod all I needed to do was to hold down the Menu button for a few seconds for the backlight to turn on. It isn’t possible to do that anymore so you have to make sure that the backlight settings are turned on. I also would like to say that my previous model came with a white plug that you can put into the data outlet to protect the outlet from dust and other hazardous circumstances. I think that the little piece of plastic is essential to the life cycle of the ipod and it should be included with every Ipod model.

All in all I couldn’t be more pleased with this item. I would definitely advise you to purchase a case that would shield the nano from everyday hazards. The new anodized aluminum casing should protect this item better than the previous models which were easily scratched. I will probably purchase a case from Otterbox when it becomes available because it appears that it will be the best protection available for this fragile investment. Hopefully I won’t regret not getting the larger storage model but as of right now I am 100 percent satisfied with my new ipod 4gb nano. It has all that you really need in an mp3 player.

“Love it”
(This is my mom and dad’s account, I’m really only 14, and named Kaylee) I have wanted an iPod for sooooo long. I saved my money and bought one myself, my parents did NOT pay for it. They color is even better than in the picture, which was a pleasant suprise. The earphones are really nice, not like the crapy ones all my friends have on their video and first generation nanos. The outside non-scratch is awesome. I got my iPod on Sept. 29 of 2006, (a friday) and left to go camping less than 4 hours later. Ofcourse I took my iPod with. We camped on DNR land in the middle of no where in our trailor. So I ran around, rode my dirtbike, climbed trees, and a whole lotta other stuff while carrying it in my pocket. I dropped it a few times, and it doesn’t have a scratch!!!! The only bad thing is it’s so small, and easy to loose. I recomend getting a screen cover though. But you really don’t need a case to keep it safe, cuz that would just hide the color of your iPod. It has 4 great games on it, and stores a ton of photos. It loads super fast, and is easy to update. The color screen rocks to the fullest. It’s definatly worth the money. Besides, it’s a 4g which in my town niether Wal-Mart or Cosco carry, only 2g. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.

Now my IPod Nano will turn off and here’s the “trip” I took to make it happen.

The solution I fell into may help others with a similar IPod problem.

Mine would not shut down so I did the usual button pushing that seemed to work in the past – I’ve owned this Ipod for a number of years. No luck.

Next, I decided that I should check out the instructions that came with the product. Some of you would have gone there earlier, I suspect. The directions said that I should, “press and hold play/pause.” Tried that. No luck.

Next, it was time for a Google search. I put in, “IPod Nano Won’t Turn Off,” and found numerous entries. The tone of most of the entries was frustration. There were also a few suggestions offered – which I tried – with no success.

However, I lucked into a successful solution (for my Ipod) after trying one of the “Google search” suggestions. Here’s how I got my IPod Nano to turn off:

Diagram from the IPod Nano manual

(1)I used my thumb to press both the Menu (B in the diagram) and Center button (H in the diagram). This led to the Apple symbol appearing. When it appeared, I took my thumb off the Ipod.

(2)After the Apple symbol was visible for a few seconds the screen faded into darkness briefly before the screen lit up as if the Ipod was back on again.

(3)Then I pressed the Play/Pause button (D in the diagram) and the IPod shut off.

It worked for me and, THIS IS IMPORTANT; it did not mess up any of the songs I had on my IPod.

Will my solution work on your IPod Nano? You could let me know if it did – 85peterjulie17 at gmail dot com Good luck!

Vad tycks?

Jeg synes i alle fall at den er veldig fin, og jeg er særs fornøyd med kjøpet. Så nå får jeg musikk på øret på vei til jobb i morgen! Lurer på om den har alarm … ?

video camera

iPod nano now has a built-in video camera that lets you record fun as it happens. Then share it with friends on the Internet. It’s the video camera that’s small enough to take with you everywhere.
Video recording. A whole new way to nano.
A quick scroll through the menu takes you to the video camera. Then you’re ready to record video in portrait or landscape — perfect for emailing or posting on Facebook or MobileMe. A built-in mic lets you capture audio, too. And when you play back your video on iPod nano, you’ll hear the recorded audio with it. All of which means your indispensable music player is now your indispensable video camera.
Special effects department included.
Fifteen fun video effects let you add a little Hollywood to your video. Just scroll through, choose the effect you want — such as film grain or motion blur — and start recording. When you’re done, sync iPod nano to your computer and iPhoto (or your favorite photo software) opens. Then email your miniblockbuster or post on YouTube or Facebook.
Sync. Share. Or put more you in YouTube.
Connect iPod nano to your Mac, and iPhoto opens and syncs all the video you shot on iPod nano to your computer. It’s just as easy on a PC when you use your favorite photo software. On a Mac, you can organize your videos in albums or events using iPhoto, too. And the video file sizes are perfect for sharing on YouTube or emailing to friends.

Design makes rock more glam

iPod nano now has a polished anodized aluminum finish in nine electrifying colors. And a larger 2.2-inch color display for your viewing pleasure.

Genius Mixes

Control your Genius. Or leave it to its own devices. Either way, Genius explores your library and finds songs that go great together.Genius Playlists.Say you have one song you really love and want to hear other tracks that go great with it. A few clicks on iPod nano, and Genius uses that song to find other songs in your library and makes a Genius playlist for you. You can listen to the playlist right away, save it for later, or even refresh and give it another go. Count on Genius to create combinations you wouldn’t have thought of yourself. Genius Mixes. Now there’s another great way to get a customized set of songs on iPod nano — have Genius do all the work. Introducing Genius Mixes. All you do is sync your iPod nano to iTunes, and Genius automatically searches your library and finds songs that sound great together to create up to 12 Genius Mixes. These mixes are like channels programmed entirely with your music. It’s a great way to rediscover songs you haven’t listened to in forever, and some you even forgot you had.Go with the Cover Flow. View your album art in Cover Flow for a faster way to find the song you want to hear. Or just press and hold the center button to flip the album cover art over so you can see the songs. When you find the right song, press the center button to add it to your on-the-go playlist.Shake to shuffle your music.
Hear songs in a totally random way. Just turn on Shake to Shuffle, then give iPod nano a shake and it shuffles to a different song in your music library. You never know what iPod nano will spin for you next.

FM radio + Live Pause. Return of the radio star

The new FM tuner lets you see the names of songs and artists. And two amazing features — iTunes Tagging and Live Pause — make listening to the radio nothing like listening to the radio.FM radio. It gives you yet another way to rock. There’s always something great on the FM dial. And now the FM tuner lets you hear your favorite morning shows on your commute and discover new music while you work out. It even shows you what and who you’re listening to.With Live Pause, you’ll never miss a beat. Say you need to take a quick break from listening to your favorite radio station. iPod nano lets you pause it with a click. Another click and you’re listening to your station again. You can even rewind as far back as 15 minutes, then fast-forward to catch up to the live broadcast.iTunes Tagging. The new-fashioned way to discover music. It’s quite a dilemma: You’re listening to the radio and you hear a song you like, but when you go to iTunes, you can’t remember the name or even who sings it. Enter iTunes Tagging. Now, you can use the Click Wheel on iPod nano to tag the song. iTunes creates a list of all your tagged songs so you can easily preview or purchase them when you sync iPod nano to iTunes.

VoiceOver. It speaks volumes

VoiceOver tells you the title and artist of the songs you listen to. And does it so seamlessly, you’ll be surprised at how brilliant it is.Let’s talk VoiceOver. What if you’re listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist? Just use the Click Wheel or the controls on the optional Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic and VoiceOver tells you the song name and who’s performing it without interrupting your music. So you’re never distracted from your ride or run by looking down at your screen.
How it works. You’ll notice how smoothly and easily VoiceOver works. A lot of thought went into creating an iPod nano that not only talks, but says the right things. It all begins with iTunes and its seamless integration with iPod nano. First, iTunes reads your song information, then uses the VoiceOver Kit to generate the announcements for the songs, artists, and playlists. Just sync your iPod nano to your computer and it really speaks to you.It speaks multiple languages.Your music library has songs from all over the world — a love song from France, a bolero from Spain, a pop tune from Japan. Luckily, VoiceOver speaks fluent song. iTunes selects the language and best voice for your song titles and artist names. It looks at song data, like the title, artist, and album information, then applies intelligent algorithms to choose the right language. For example, iTunes recognizes the song “Ya Viene el Sol” by Ozomatli as a Spanish song, so your iPod nano will automatically speak that song title and artist in Spanish. If you prefer to hear that information spoken in another language, you can change the designated VoiceOver language for that song in iTunes.

Pedometer and Nike + iPod

Hit the ground running. Or walking.
With the Nike + iPod Sport Kit and a built-in Pedometer to help keep you motivated and track your fitness progress, iPod nano makes working out less routine. Step it up with the new Pedometer. You take your iPod nano with you everywhere. Why not use it to stay fit? iPod nano now doubles as a Pedometer. It uses the built-in accelerometer to keep track of your steps and help you meet your fitness goals. You can create a daily step goal or set it to Always On so it counts all the steps you take, all the time. Which makes iPod nano the ideal exercise partner. Rock and run. Your shoes and your iPod nano team up to maximize your run. See the minutes tick by. Watch the miles unfold. Hear real-time voice feedback. All to your favorite music, including your chosen Power Song — that one song that always gets you through the home stretch.

Ready

Grab your iPod nano, your Nike+ shoes, and the Nike + iPod Sport Kit (available separately). Put the sensor in the built-in pocket just under the insole. Then connect the receiver to your iPod nano. The sensor tracks your run, then sends the data to your iPod nano.

Set

Check out the Nike + iPod menu and choose how you want to run. Try the open-ended workout or select one with time, distance, or calorie goals. Then pick your favorite playlist, shuffle songs, or choose Nike-created Sport Music.
Go
As you run, iPod nano tells you your time, distance, pace, and calories burned. It gives you feedback at the halfway point and as you push to the finish line. You can also see the details of your workout on your iPod nano.
Rock the gym.
Take Nike + iPod to the gym and minute by minute, mile by mile, you’re motivated by more than music. Connect your iPod nano to a Nike + iPod compatible cardio machine. Record your pace, time, and distance as you work out. With iPod nano, every trip to the gym becomes a new challenge.
Ready
Find your favorite Nike + iPod compatible cardio machine. Then connect your iPod nano to the 30-pin connector.
Set
Browse your iPod nano and choose the playlist or video that will get and keep you going. Your iPod nano battery even charges while connected, so you’ll always have power.
Go
Your pace, distance, time, and calories burned are recorded as you go. When you’re done, you’ll see a summary of your workout on the cardio equipment. And it’s all saved on your iPod nano.
Sync
When you’re finished, connect your iPod nano to your Mac or PC. iTunes automatically sends your pedometer or workout data to nikeplus.com. Every step, every workout, and every run is there, ready for you to review. See your progress and get pumped for your next walk or run with recommended challenges, custom training programs, and maps of new routes to try. Or share motivation with other nikeplus.com users across the world.

Note to self: Voice Memos are here

The built-in mic lets you capture a thought, a reminder, a class lecture, or any audio recording you want with Voice Memos.

I’m in love with Everyone Connects since Day 1 I knew about it. It actually started off as a w

I’m in love with Everyone Connects since Day 1 I knew about it.

It actually started off as a website, with a 1 min + song entitled “Through My Window” which is free to listen, with no details on who sang it or who produce/sponsor it. It turned out to be a successful gimmick, almost all local radio station is playing the 1 min + song (that time the full song is not released yet) and got everyone to talk about it, discussing who the artist might be.

There’s been a lot of wild guest by the public – some guessed its a new band, some say its a new artist and there’s others who speculate that the person who sang “Through My Window” is Mawi (LoL~!, that was so funny!). Everyone agree though that whoever sang that got talent!

And few weeks later the gimmick was revealed. The song is sang by Bunkface (obviously! That’s my first guess, and I got it!) and the whole EveryoneConnects thingi is powered by TM.

I was really happy it is Bunkface. Too bad I don’t know them when they came to UTP for performance at Euphonious 2009, I was standing in the VIP room with them! But after the performance, it was awesome and I’ve began listening to most of their songs (Situasi and Revolusi are some of their best songs).

Then EveryoneConnects collaborate with various local youth stuff..including YouthSays and then came the “Though My Window” Mash-Up Remix Contest. I thought I might give it a try, they offer lots of prizes and I’m aiming to one of the lil’ prizes (eg. RM30 Borders voucher or Starbucks voucher)…and who knows..my first submission won an 8GB Ipod Nano! To win it, the submission must be the best of the day.

I was super thrilled when I saw my name on the prize winners list. It was a moment of…”OMG”…plus craziness + disbelief + awesomeness! I’ve never won a prize for any contest I’ve joined and I won this with my first submission!

You can listen to my winning remix here: http://www.everyoneconnects.net/rdparty101/video_mashup.aspx?vid=2061

You’ll have to load it a while, and wait for the “Loading” turns to “Through My Window”.

4 more Nanos give-away. Remember to give it a shot!
Well if Nanos not your type, you can still try for their various prizes, which they’ll give for every 30th lucky submission.

Greetings Ego Maniacs,

We want to thank all of you for coming to our shows, and supporting Icky’s fragile ego.

The members of our group are David Crocco, Cela Scott, Philo Brathwait and Vreny Van Elslande. We’ve had 6 shows together as a band now, and the journey has been incredible so far. Icky immediately gives shout-outs to:

-Teri Hitt of Grace Gravity, for her musical, technical and moral support.

-Brian David Hardin, for killer production, mechanical mastery and general shamanism.

-DD and Croix of /dev/null, for guest appearances and photography.

-Happenin’ Harry of the Haptones, for presenting us at his killer venues The Joint and The Cat Club.

-Mason of lazyskin.com, for introducing us at Taix 321 Lounge in Echo Park—go here! The food is fantastic and it’s music for music lovers. There’s never a cover charge.

-Aron Gibson of The Swagger Sticks, for making us feel so welcome in the LA music community. We’ll see you guys at the Bootleg Theatre on the 14th.

-Dan Garcia of Alive Again, our gear guru. Go see him at Guitar Center on Sunset, he knows how to minimize instrument insanity.

Our live show has been constantly evolving since we started playing out in August. The current set consists of about 12 original songs, and we have 10 more that we’re in the process of introducing.

Our friend Pascal Demeester shot following video at our show last week at Taix in Echo Park. The video shows our performance of “Past And Future”, which is one the newer songs we brought into our set.

Lately we’ve been exploring different soundscapes with electronic undertones, creating our own loops and samples and playing to them. This has added a dimension to the music that we love…and also added lots and lots and lots of additional gear, cords, and technical difficulties. Navigating the trappings of our ambitious setup has been a roller coaster of trial and error, and we are pleased to announce the innovative introduction of :

-A new wireless system for our instruments! No more weaving a web of chaotic cordage onstage.

-Pedal boards, for all our effects processors. Two pieces of gear with two cords to plug in is infinitely faster to setup than eight different ones. If you want to know how to bypass the $500 music store version and create the $25 Home Depot version, ask us how…

-Playing our loops off an ipod nano instead of a laptop linked to an additional pedal station. Our setup/tear down time is now taking about 10 minutes. Amen. We figure that until we have roadies, we should try to have less gear than Radiohead.

The learning curve with the equipment has taught us a lot as performers. Our biggest challenge, while fumbling with technical hiccups, has been staying present and trying to communicate the story of the songs to the audience…which is what it’s all about, of course. Our goal is to be able to execute the technical aspects of the show, while remaining in the here and now, consistently closing the gap between the fears and distractions and the simple joy of sharing the musical journey.

We recently completed our 4-song EP that contains Citadel, Girlfriend, Histrionics and Rome, and we are back in the studio this month to record Past & Future. Alongside the creativity, we’re learning more about how to get the songs out there and have people share in our experience. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to bring other people into our world, we’d love to hear them. We’re very ready now to share our story and our music with others.

Thank you all again for your support! We’ll see you guys soon at our upcoming gigs.

Love You Long Time,

A novidade é:

Boa sorte para quem for comprar!
