It has been a little over five months and I find myself unable to stop worrying. When Wifey was pregnant we constantly worried about the baby because you can’t see the baby. We loved going to the doctor because the doctor would always confirm everything was okay but we would then become anxious a week later and be counting down the days until Wifey’s next doctor’s appointment. Now, we can see Baby Zachary so we should be less worried and I guess we are less worried but we are less worried only when we can see him. The problem is that when he goes to sleep we can’t plop down in a chair next to the crib with a bag of popcorn and stare at him. Though we have been tempted to do this and he is super cute when sleeping, watching him the entire time he sleeps would mean we were absolutely crazy (which we probably are) and that someone should call social services on us. So, we leave him in his crib while he is sleeping but we constantly check on him. We constantly want an answer to the question, “Is he still breathing?” (the video monitor is great but it doesn’t confirm that he is still breathing). Baby Zachary now also sleeps on his stomach which only adds to our worries. Is he going press his face in the mattress and block his air passages? I do not know when this feeling of worrying about Baby Zachary will go away.
