I’m glad you asked. I’ll be glad to tell you. First and foremost, I am thankful to God and all the blessings He has given to my family. I’m thankful the things that we sometimes too often don’t think enough about…health, wonderful family and friends, our jobs, our house.

But today, at this exact moment, I am thinking just how thankful I am for Justin and Isabella. It really hit me when I was going through some pictures. Trust me, when you see the pictures below you’ll understand why. They made me think about just how lucky I am to have the both of them in my life.

Justin is an amazing husband to me and the best daddy to Isabella. He truly is our provider and protector in many ways. He is a rock to me. And I don’t know what I would do without him.

Then I’ve got Isabella. It’s true when you hear people say nothing can prepare you for having a child. It has made me experience many emotions to the most extreme. I’ve never been so worried, scared, frustrated, elated, happy, excited, proud in my life. Honestly, sometimes I feel like my heart is going to burst from all of the love I have for her. She is truly a blessing that Justin and I have been given. And I look forward to many, many more years experiencing life with the both of them.

I can’t remember where I first spotted Belsante, but she sometimes appears among rare medieval variants for Isobel.  I’d venture to guess she started out as a diminutive, though I’ve also stumbled across Belsante as a surname.

She’s certainly elegant, even dramatic, isn’t she?  And yet, Belle and Bella are accessible – and overwhelmingly popular – nicknames.

With parents seeking an alternative to mega-hit Isabella, choices like Annabel and Arabella are on the rise.  So are rarities like Maribel – a family name JLo used her daughter Emme’s middle – and Mirabel, as well as surname spins like Bellamy.

Worrisome suggestions abound on discussion boards: Harry Potter villain Bellatrix, Biblical bad girl Jezebel and Disney Tinkerbell.  (For the record, JM Barrie’s character is actually Tinker Bell.  And I’m fairly certain that suggestion came from someone not really naming a baby.  I hope.)

So what say you to Belsante – yea or nay?

Der zweite Teil der Saga wird demnächst in den Deutschen Kinos gezeigt. Es dauert nicht mehr lang und die Fans können es nicht mehr abwarten. Wir haben hier alles aus dem Archiv zu New Moon gekramt, was wir finden konnten und werden euch jetzt ein Preview zu Film bieten, dass euren Durst nach New Moon wachsen lassen sollte.

Worum geht es in New Moon?

Eigentlich könnte man sich diesen Abschnitt sparen. Dennoch wollen wir die Geschichte hier aufführen. In Teil 2 der Saga hat Isabella Swan (Kristen Stewart), die Hauptrolle, Geburtstag. Diesen will sie mit ihrem festen Freund Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) und seiner Familie feiern. Die Familie Cullen besteht aus Vampiren, ernähren sich jedoch nicht von Menschen-, sondern von Tierblut. Auf ihrer Geburtstagsfeier bekommt Bella von der sehr wohlhabenden Familie einige Geschenke. Doch beim Öffnen eines Geschenkes schneidet sie sich an Geschenkpapier.

Jasper, der noch nicht lange “Vegetarier” ist, bekommt durch den Tropfen Blut, der Bella vom Finger gleitet gewaltigen Durst und stürzt sich auf sie. Edward stoßt seine Freundin Bella zur Seite und rettet sie vor dem durstigem Vampir. Dieses Ereigniss beschäftigt Edward noch eine kurze Weile, bis er sich von Bella trennt.

Die Trennung ist eine wichtige Schlüsselszene und baut auf die Nachfolgende Handlung auf, deswegen wollen wir nicht mehr spoilern. Nur so viel sei gesagt, die Geschichte wurde vom Regisseur so umgesetzt, dass sie einen immer “auf den nächsten Level pushen” soll. Schon im Buch zum Film leidet man sehr mit Bella mit und wird von Punkt zu Punkt hin und hergerissen.

Trailer:

Ganz wichtig, wenn man sich einen Film anschauen will, ist der Trailer. Diesmal ist dieser auch sehr gelungen. Man bekommt einen richtig guten Eindruck darüber, wie der Film so in etwa sein wird. Wer jetzt noch sagt, die Twilight Saga wäre kitschig, der ist entweder altmodisch, oder kennt sich nicht mit Filmen aus.

Wem dieser Eindruck noch nicht reicht, der kann sich auch die folgenden zwei Ausschnitte aus New Moon ansehen. Die sind leider auf englisch, sollten aber jeden überzeugen, sich doch ins Kino zu setzen.

Letze Anmerkung:

The Twilight Saga-New Moon sollte auch dieses Jahr einer der besten Jugendfilme werden. Die Mischung aus Dramatik, Liebe und einer recht gelungenen Vampir / Wolf Kulisse runden die Geschichte gut ab, die wachsende Zuneigung zu Jackob wird offensichtlich gut dargestellt. Auch ist die Vampir Familie jetzt mehr dem Buch entsprechend gekleidet. Tendenz: sehr hoch!

Robin Thicke says he and wife Paula Patton–due with their first child in May–already have the names picked out. I don’t really believe that he revealed something so personal, but let’s just run with it.

“We like Julian if it’s a boy and Isabella if it’s a girl,” he told People Saturday while hosting at The Bank nightclub in Las Vegas.

Vi började arbetet med att leta bilder. Vi tillbringade en lång stund till att försöka hitta DNs arkiv för att kunna ta bilder därifrån, men gav upp till slut och vände oss till google.

Medvetet beslut
Vi var medvetna om att de bilder som finns på google kan vara upplagda av vem som helst och är därmed inte alltid trovärdiga och dessutom är de skyddade av upphovsrätten så vi kan inte publicera de utan tillstånd på vår blogg.

Därför använde vi de bilderna till att skapa en diskussion kring ämnet. Det visade sig väldigt användbart då vi belyste problemet med att man kan manipulera/redigera bilder så att man får en förvrängd verklighet. Vi diskuterade även medias roll i klimatfrågan och vilken roll vi har. Det hela blev utgångspunkten för vårt slutgiltiga arbete, där vi valde att publicera en bild tagen av en av gruppmedlemmarna.

Detta dels för att vara säkra på att det bilden föreställer är trovärdigt och passar som representant för våra åsikter och dels för att vi kunde publicera den utan att behöva fråga någon utomstående om lov.

Ma voltunk megnézni a New Moon-t. Ott volt Cla, Bogi, Viki, Niki, Tina, Ricsi, Ádi, Zozo, Norbi és én. Hát igen, a jó filmekre mindig összegyűlik a jó társaság… Kittit sajnos nem engedték el…

Fél 10-kor taliztunk a mozi előtt. A film kb negyed 11-kor kezdődött. Már nagyon izgatottak voltunk, mivel mindegyikünk nagy Twilight fan

A film nagyon tetszett. A legjobb rész az volt, amikor Bella épp hogy utolérte Edwardot, mielőtt meghalt volna… A legszomorúbb meg az volt, amikor Edward elhagyta Bellát… Megmondom őszintén, azt a rész megkönnyeztem, de ezzel nem voltam egyedül. Mindig átérzem a film szereplőinek érzelmeit… Az egész nagyon sejtelmes volt… Amúgy is szeretem a vámpíros filmeket, de az Alkonyat és az Újhold felülmúlja mindegyiket.

A moziba szinte ujjongás tört ki, mikor Jacob levette a pólóját… Szerintem egyáltalán nem néz ki jól… Már túl izmos… Akárki akármit mond, akkor is Edward a jobb

Mary Ann (Ross) Lascelles' Prayer Book

The prayer book of Mary Ann (Ross) Lascelles is in the Archives at the Church of Our Lord (Victoria BC), where she was raised by the Reverend and Mrs. Cridge as their ward in the 1850-60s.

Mary Ann was the daughter of Henri Isaac Bastian*, and Rose, a Nisqually woman of the Muck Creek First People in Washington.

Mary Ann survived the decimation of the tribe, the hanging of the Chief Leschi and her mother’s death.  She was taken in and raised by the Cridges until she met and married Alexander Ross.

Their marriage ceremony was performed by the Reverend Cridge at Christ Church Cathedral (Victoria BC) on December 28, 1868.  Bishop Cridge remained her family minister as he had been to Isabella.  He continued to be the family minister to Mary Ann’s only surviving daughter, Flora Victoria Ross, and was Godfather to her daughter, Flora Victoria Ottaway, until his death in 1913.

Bishop Cridge was a faithful minster to four generations of Ross family members from 1854-1913.  He was also an important source of oral family history, passed down to the present day Ross family descendants.

THE MEAT CAME FROM TUTTO ITALIANOS SOME OF ANGELOS BEST. THE NEXT COURSE WAS SOME OF EDDIE  AND SUSANS FINEST ROASTED CHICKEN WITH ROASTED POTATOES AND CARROTS. ALSO INCLUDED WAS A FINE SALAD TO FINISH OFF THIS MADE FOR A KING MEAL. FOR DESSERT WE HAD A CHOICE OF NEW ENGLANDS FINEST CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE.  AUNTIE JANET PASSED MUCH GAS AFTER TO RELIEVE THE PRESSURE. EDDIE PUT ISABELLA TO SLEEP ON HIS LAP AND SUSAN TRANSFERED THE BABY TO THE COUCH. THE BOYS RETIRED TO WATCH THE FOOTBALL GAME AND UNCLE TONY WAS FAST ASLEEP BEFOR WE KNEW IT. IN CLOSING, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE BROWNS FOR THIER HOSPITALITY AND THE DALESSANDROS FOR THIER FINE COMPANY AND GASSY ATMOSPHERE.  BIG LOU

Here at AppMtn, it isn’t so very unusual to receive an outraged email or comment after I’ve said something less than flattering about a name.  The longer I write, the more keenly I think about the fact that these names are worn by real human beings.

So it is doubly thrilling when I write something and the parents are happy to discover the post.  Better still, they write about it on their blog.  Which brings us to adorable baby Estelle over at The Emperor’s New Crib.  Thanks to her parents, I now know that frikadelle means meatball in Danish.

A bunch of other random thoughts:

• I like Anneliese.  I can understand respelling her Annalise or Annalisa.  But Analyse?  Yup, I’ve just spotted a baby Analyse.  I don’t think her parents are psychiatrists;
• Anyone think True will catch on as a first name?  It’s sort of like a virtue name on steroids – far bolder than the established Grace and Faith, stark compared to the gently old-fashioned Felicity or Amity.  Actor Forest Whitaker has a daughter called True Isabella Summer.  True Jackson, VP is a Nickelodeon show ’bout a super-stylish teen who ends up heading up a line at an honest-to-goodness fashion label.  (And no, her mom’s name isn’t Kimora.)  The show is in season #2 and now airs on Nick UK an Nick Latin America;
• Nicole Kidman is about to return to the big screen as Claudia in the musical Nine. If it is half the hit of Moulin Rouge, the sadly neglected Claudia could finally get a boost.  After all, the devilish Satine still surfaces on message boards;
• I keep meaning to mention the compound name of my favorite project runway finalist – Carol Hannah.  I’m not wild about either name, but I find the combination strangely appealing.  Or is it too close to Poltergeist’s tragic Carol Anne?  I also heard a prospective model’s name mentioned during casting for the contestants’ shows – Drielle, which sounds a too much like a French power tool to be pretty;
• Nancy mentions strangely appropriate names – as in, a retail analyst named Tiffany Co.  I recently met a cantor named Aria and while chasing the kids around the Bass Outdoor Extravaganza Warehouse Winter Wonderland, I heard a camouflage-clad dad call his son Hunter;
• Bewildertrix spotted a Juno Alexandra Zénaïde, little sister to Hugh.  I agree with her – what a fabulous combo;
• Digital Spy talked with Emmerdale (it’s a UK soap) star Charlotte Bellamy about the names she and partner Mungo Denison chose for their three kids: sons Sunnie and Herbie and daughter Teddie Boo Florence;
• She’s not here yet, but Joey Lawrence tells Celebrity Baby Blog that Charleston’s little sister will be called Liberty Grace.

A few noteworthy posts you might’ve missed:

• Did you catch the Nameberry post on Old Lady Names?  It’s interesting to see how trends evolve – they report on the granny chic picks they’ve mentioned in each edition of Beyond Jennifer & Jason, now rebooted as Beyond Ava & Aiden.  They’ve definitely caught on in the DC ‘burbs – I can think of Ida, Mabel, Hazel and Elsie all in my ‘hood.  Funny to think that someday Cynthia, Barbara and Deborah will all sound fresh again, too;
• It’s no longer fashion limbo.  They’re now outlier names. Celebrity Baby Blog interviewed Nameberry’s Pamela Redmond Satran about names like Paulina, Bronwyn and Helena;
• Lastly, Xanthe Linnea has a great list of one-syllable names for boys.  I love Bram, Clark, Heath and Rhys.

Two weeks ago we had the distinct honor and pleasure of seeing the two of united in marriage. And tonight we get to celebrate your union with you, your family, and all of your friends.You two are two of our most wonderful friends. We remember at our wedding, the card you gave us. We remember thinking how heartfelt the note that you guys wrote was. Just like we’ve cherished our friendship with you the past several years, we also look forward to the next 70 with you (and our kids and grandkids and great-grandkids)!
I don’t think I can put into words how happy we are for the two of you. Marriage is truly a wonderful thing. What a commitment to make to God and each other! Although life will have it’s ups and downs, we know that the two of you will make it. And we hope to share all of it with you guys!
Obviously we don’t need to share much instruction on what makes a great relationship…you two have been together for a while now . A few things we think make our relationship so strong is complete trust, honesty, commitment, forgiveness, respect, and faith in God. But, another thing we’ve learned through our trials together is to laugh. Laugh at yourself, laugh at each other, laugh at some of the silly circumstances you get yourself into or find yourself at. That’s why we wanted to share the following pictures with you guys. Now, we know you two are Scrunchy-lovin’ folk. And what better to make you laugh! These are for you.
